Review Split Bar & Restaurant - Whangarei

The food was beyond amazing. We had the scotch fillet and BBQ chicken salad. Very filling and good sized portions. They also have a kids menu and also have high chairs available. Our child had the bacon fettuccine which was great. We walked in without a reservation so had to sit at the back. Service was very friendly and accommodating.

This establishment remembers clients and treats them well. Every time I go there, the owner is present and serving as well as great polite staff. The food is exceptional.

Amazing meal, loved the food and wine here. When we arrived I initially thought the restaurant looked a bit ordinary but kinda quirky with the brickwork. Then the food arrived and I forgot all about anything else, the bread & dip starter was incredible. Steak followed and that was honestly the best steak I have had in YEARS. Thank you for an awesome meal, thoroughly enjoyed the evening and definitely will be back next trip

Had an amazing dinner here. There was nothing I could fault. The fish was perfectly cooked, the cheesecake the perfect amount of sweet vs tart. The staff were all lovely, helpful but not in ya face Will definitely return.

Great food and service. Excellent main meal of fresh snapper. It is a well appointed restaurant, but it could be more intimate with screens to break the corridor shape of the restaurant.

Service is top-notch and super-friendly to a couple of out-of-towners. Food : the snapper in the fish and chips was super tender and fresh, encased in a crunchy yet light batter. Fries (or chips if you are british) on their own were as good as most other places i have been to (my photo doesnt do 'em justice), but it was the additional combination of the tartare sauce dip and malt vinegar that made this fish & chip dish a very very good plate of food. The clam chowder my fellow diner had was also very good, with a nicely toasted side of garlic bread that packed a good amount of garlic flavour wallop. Kudos to the chef and waiting staff at Split :)

Went for a work do last night, meal was delicious, service was great, all staff were happy and smiling and the drinks where flowing, a little pricey but will definitely return

Loved this place! The service was fantastic and the food so delicious. It is a cute little restaurant that is very popular so pays to book unless you are happy to wait. Had the BBQ chicken salad entrée and it was a decent serve (wasn't that hungry so had it as our main).

Fantastic meal today, been in Whangarei almost six years and this is our first time here but we’ll be back ! The food is top notch! Best in town I’d say! Unbelievably satisfying! You gotta come here!

We have eaten around the world, namely London, Paris and New York... the service, the atmosphere and the food is right up there with the best, if not better!! We enjoyed every single mouthful of top quality food and flavor, a true culinary delight. A spectacular experience which we will never forget. Split will be the boast of our dining stories for a long time to come. We highly recommend booking your place at Split!

A very warm welcome from the front of staff, was able to select where we sat, then was clearly advised of the days specials of a great cross selection of food. Our meals arrived punctually and was of a high standard and were reasonably priced. If you have not been to the Split Bar & Restaurant I suggest you give it a try, we certainly will return on our next visit to Whangarei.

First time there on the 4th Jan 2022 from Hamilton such an awesome feel to the place, staff were pretty friendly and omg the food was to die for 👌if your ever in Whangarei it is definitely a must try type of place hands down you will not be disappointed 👍

Great customer service from staff. The steak was slightly dry but the blue cheese sauce made up for it.

Wow!!!! Amazing food, fantastic service and a great price. Just had the best meal I have had in such a long time!!! Perfectly cooked steak and melt in the mouth short ribs!!!! Dessert just as good. Totally made my birthday!!!! We WILL definitely be back!!!! Highly recommend.

Very impressed. We walked in at 9pm with a group of 14 after flying into Auckland, driving on our way to Russell. I cannot fault our experience. They found us a large area in the beer garden to fit us all in, food intolerances were not an issue, meals were quick and delicious and the service simply exceptional. One of the best restaurant experiences I have had. Highly recommended.

The food and wine was amazing..makes a difference also when you have great service ..loved the waitress oops I meant the waiter�..been there afew times now and leaving happy and satisfied everytime. Cheers for a fun night..hope we weren't to noisy.

Had such an amazing dinner tonight. My husband and I had a date night no kids. The service was good and the food was amazing thank you so much for a fabulous time. I am not a big steak fan but thought I would try it so glad I did best steak meal I've ever had. Will be back again.

Has lunch and a few beers, ended up a few hours extra and had a platter which was awesome
