Review Serenity Cafe - Whangarei

We had a steak and cheese pie, a steak pie and a piece of walnut slice. The steak and cheese had cheese oozing out of it. Mmmm. Both pies were well received. Pastry was flaky and the gravy rich. The meat chunky and tender. The slice finished off lunch nicely.

This mōrena I stopped by Serenity Café for some kai and kāwhe. It's such a lovely outlook looking out over the Quay. The place was packed, sounds of a very busy kitchen and the staff were very busy serving and clearing tables. Despite all that, service was excellent, greeted warmly, and informed me of a 30-minute delay in the kitchen (which wasn't as kai arrived in really good time). Kāwhe was excellent (cappuccino) with a good amount of chocolate on top. Chocolate milkshake divine, made with ice cream, just the best. Kai (eggs Benedict) was scrumptious 😋. It was a really nice start to my day, roadtripping around Whangārei. If you're in Whangārei, call into Serenity Café, lots do, and for very good reason, great service, kai and kāwhe.

Lovely quiet place to have coffee and breakfast in the morning. Went on a saturday morning and it wasn't super busy. Staff were super nice and friendly. I had a bacon big breakfast and subbed out some stuff, along with a large hot chocolate and it costed me about 28 bucks. Portion sizes were nice and big and the food was very good. Would highly recommend for quick (reasonably) inexpensive food and coffee in a lovely chill place. Always come back

Hands-down the best tomato soup ever! Made with roasted tomatoes, garlic and coconut cream. Served with very nice ciabatta bread. Good coffee too. The place was quite busy on the morning I was there with a friend.

Pies are absolutely great and the chips are fab! Lovely looking cabinet food. Staff are all really friendly. Our friend left her to go sandwich and we came back they were more than helpful, so nice we came back again. :)

Lovely place to stop and have a meal as long as it’s not at lunchtime 😁 very full place then so obviously popular. The wedges and spicy chai latte are sooo good! A bit pricey but the view and the atmosphere make up for it

Delicious, home made, quality food with great service. I was so surprised in that the 3 surrounding restaurants were almost empty & that I was encouraged by friends to queue for lunch. There were so many staff to provide quick service & our order was taken so quickly. There was steak & kidney stew, prawn & pineapple seared salad, homemade specialty pies & cakes, & so much more. Great value for money, wholesome goods of good proportions.

Had a quick lunch there and can't recommend this venue enough. I slight mix up with the order (my fault entirely!) which was fixed super quick with no fuss. Great work and great service: well done!

Very good meals here. Went for dinner and returned for Breakfast! The basics done very well. Fish n chips were fresh and not oily. Pies were generous with filling and not filled up with gravy.

Steak and kidney pie was extremely full of meat normally I would have a donut as well but the pie was more than enough for me

Been here alot over the years and they have new owners again. Great service and the crumbled fish of the day is great. nice place to catch up with family and friends. The best part is that the tables are always clean...🤙🏽

Shared the beautiful berry pancakes with my children. The iced coffee was fantastic too!

Enjoyed a delightful blueberry muffin and coffee at Serenity Cafe. Despite being very busy, the experience was enjoyable.

Fast and friendly service. Coffee: average. Food: the burger patty and chips must have been frozen, which was surprising, because all the other ingredients taste high quality. Overall, pretty good food and good portions for the price.

Great atmosphere with excellent service and food

As a stop off en route Serenity Cafe was a pleasant surprise. An extensive and varied menu to cater for ravenous and modest eaters alike, clean restrooms and top notch service. I'd definitely go back. Serenity Cafe knows what it's doing and does it well.

this is one of those places that will go down in history I’ve been and can say it was the best food i ate in NZ In years to come people will BS that they went and had diner here. F off we did on a recommendation from my uncle bill . After our meal he thanked the shef. His daughter / my causin said i was imagining it. Bill never compliments the shef. God the food was good Staff good atmosphere good price I felt like a rober. Don’t go if your a stuck up foodie you’ll hate it Only go if you love nice food.

Great place, tasty food, good coffee and great staff. What more could you ask for. My colleagues and I go 2/3 times a week and we love it. Best place in town by a country mile.

Had over a half hour wait for our food and when it arrived it was wrong my pancakes had my partners bacon and banana on it and his had nothing. Sent it back to get it changed they only took his so mine went cold and had to be redone was there for over an hour. Very underwhelmed with the food and service :( there was also plastic in the garden that the poor ducks kept going by. Even had people who just sat down served their food before us. And can't say it was real busy because the last time we went the line was out the door.

First time there and I was very impressed with my panini meal. My wife not so much with her bacon eggs Benedict as i paid $4more for 1 extra piece of Bacon plus the Hollandaise tasted more like egg sauce. Coffee was on point 5stars to the Barrister

we had the most awsome hapuka and salad here yesterday. The fish was cooked to perfection with a very tasty salad and very resonably priced and to wash it down the nicest cappachino ever thankyou so much.

ordered breakfast with add on of hash brown came out no hash brown. three quarters way through breakfast it came. Mind you was distracted over unlevel table anyway small things but makes a difference
