Review Essence Cafe - Whangarei

My food and coffee were delicious. Unfortunately they seemed to forget my friend's order and they needed to be reminded...we loved the outdoor setting .

I love this cafe. The old shop has great character with wooden floors & high ceilings. Beautiful sheltered courtyard out the back. We had breakfast at lunch for me (hold the beans) & french toast for the little one. The photos speak for themselves. Delicious food. Great staff. Thanks very much Essence

Beautiful outside setting, especially on a sunny day. I had their mushroom toast with a poached egg. I highly recommend this dish ❤️

Food was good but it's has to be the amazing customer service from the young beautiful Maori girl that's makes the cafe great. Highly recommend 👌

Had the bacon and eggs. Excellent. A great place to start your day.

Easy find in Bank St. Good seating. Food options ok. Prices fair. Appears change of ownership has occurred. Friend had bad experience with food allergy, even after specifically enquiring when ordering food. Kitchen staff apparently unfamiliar with reading content labels on ingredient bottles. Inept response by serving staff member. Rushed out of the door at afternoon close time with no warning. Very average experience...

Definitely one of the better value for money cafes in town. Highly recommend

Very pleasant & well run. A must to sit out back when the sun is out.

Love this place. Mum goes most weeks. She is very slow on a walking frame. They always rush to open the door for her. She is a little shaky so they put her hot chocolate in a takeaway cup with a lid on it even tho she dines in. She always sits at the same table and they deliver the newspaper to her. Staff are always friendly and cheerful. They are there to open the door when she leaves. I score them a 10 out of 5.

This was the first cafe that I found that was open. They were shutting in 40 mins but made me a really nice bacon and eggs with a good flat white. The cafe is on the outskirts of town but worth the walk or drive. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.

Visited this morning. The staff are super nice and friendly, food was great so yum and poached eggs cooked to perfection, loved the outdoor area but the sun was beaming so sat inside where it was cooler. Beautiful cafe experience and will be back everytime we visit whangarei.
