I can't say enough good things about this bakery! The food here is simply divine. I've tried all their pies, and each one is a masterpiece. The gourmet pie I had was truly amazing, bursting with flavors. And let's not forget the mouthwatering sweet treats – they are absolutely delicious!
What makes this place even more special is the super-friendly staff. Their warm welcome and great service always make my visits a pleasure. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for exceptional food and a friendly atmosphere. It's a gem!
Awesome experience with this cafe. They helped me to prepare for a special function by supplying all the bread. I had so many complements on the bread. Will keep using this lovely bakery in the future. If you haven't tried it yet prepared for a treat. Beautiful pies and cakes also. See the photos of what we did with the loaves.
Delicious sourdough bread! It tasted amazing with cream cheese and jam🍓😉. I got the white sourdough loaf and can't wait to try the other types of bread😊
I just had the best ever pie of my life here. The beef steak - SO tasty with tender meat and a flavoursome real gravy sauce that i can't do justice in describing. The pastry was light and tasty, very different to the gluggy or puff pastry of most pies. Can't recommend this place highly enough. The service was super friendly and coffee as good or better than most places. Shame I live in Auckland and won't get to visit very often!

Have been eating delicious Handsome Frog sourdough bread since I arrived in Whangarei 9 months ago! Now they have opened their lovely store, my family and i have sampled most of their gorgeous breads, rolls, bagels and delicious sweet treats. Oreo brownies and custard brioche being firm favourites with my kids 😋 Wonderful service from lovely people, all to happy to help. Thank you.
I walked in and straight away i was greeted with big smiles and jokes, the service was amazing and the food was even better, if i could give them more than five stars i would.
You get what you pay for is my motto. The Steak and Bluecheese Pie is amazing. Right amount of Bluecheese not too overpowering. The pie is full of tender, juicy steak, the pastry is baked correctly. Definitely with the money.
I stopped in here in the weekend with the kids, it was fantastic, the pies were delicious, but best of all was the sweet pastries and muffins, I had a donut and it was divine, the kids scoffed down two muffins and loved them, great to have some different food places opening in Whangarei
Ian and Janet are real crafts people. Bread made from scratch, not some fancy mixture and 'just add water'. It really is the best bread you'll ever taste. The divine ciabatta is a personal favorite!
