Cibo offered both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to be indoors as it was a cold winter's day. The service was prompt and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and accommodating of requests. There was a large car park right in front of the cafe. Will definitely revisit when in Whangarei!
Had lunch last Sunday; omelet was superb and full. Their ginger and pistachio slice is delicious. Shame I had to share it with my husband. The team are cheerful and welcoming. One of them ran to the door to assist a lady in a wheel chair entering the cafe. It was very windy and her husband would not have managed the wheelchair and the door in the blustery conditions. Well done team Cibo; you noticed their arrival and got to the door to help before they did.
Cibo has quickly become my regular cafe. Me and my partner frequent here weekly and it has never fell short of excellence. Great food, great service, and priced well. I highly recommend visiting here.
I moved to whangarei in April and found cibo was the only cafe here where I really enjoyed their eggs bene with bacon, every week I come here and the food is always consistent, perfectly cooked poached eggs everytime, always delicious. But as of the last few weeks I’ve been here the food is not coming out how it use to, the eggs are always either over cooked like a boiled egg or I cut into it and it’s undercooked with all the egg white and water running onto my plate. I don’t know if it’s new chefs or something but it really saddens me as this was a really nice place I love coming to eat and having a nice coffee. Please go back to knowing how to cook a poached egg. Thank you
Very busy and popular place. Good selection of food in the display cabinet, as well as a menu if you want something freshly cooked.
Nice Cafe, just far enough from the town basin to not be overly busy. Easy to get a table. Lovely variety of food , clean premises and friendly and efficient staff. Recommend.
Cibo went down in my ratings yesterday.
My friend and I ordered and paid and were seated outside.
Tea and coffee arrived , no problems.
My " Moroccan Chicken Panini arrived with:
" Did you want to eat together, because chef has just started preparing your " lamb salad?"
"Well yes of course, how long will it be"
" About 5 minutes or less"
At least 10 minutes later it arrived, and was delicious my friend said.
However, the Moroccan Chicken was not good. Very low standard Panini bread, a couple thin pieces of chicken ,no flavour and perhaps a teaspoon of ? coleslaw; something beige coloured ? sauce? cheese?, pressed, with little bowl of red chutney?
Where Morocco comes into it I don't know. It was not the taste or look for sure!
Total $48.
I won't be going back.
One of my three favourite Whangarei cafes. Went in for a coffee and had a mushroom bruschetta..yummy.
Sorry couldnt wait and took a bite first. Food drawer has wide choices ours was the vegetarian option. Never been disappointed yet. Worth the spoil.
