Review The Bake House Cafe Whangarei - Whangarei

Vicky Saifiti
This place was my first eat in cafe in Whangarei. I had the eggs Benny and a Lrg soy Mocha which cost just over $30. I always compare to my usual and the price is a little bit cheaper than most considering prices these days. The eggs Benny was with bacon and was a little bit too tangy for my taste but was good. I would have given it a 5 but for some reason they squirted mayo over the eggs Benny which I didn’t like. Coffee was great no complaints there. All in all good place if you’re visiting and I would definitely comer again maybe just get something else instead.

We were visiting Whangarei and there wasn't a lot open so we opted to try the Bake House Cafe. They are a bakery but also have Asian options available. We couldn't decide so opted for coffee and a New Zealand specialty - mince on toast. The coffee was decent (but the cups are big so specify a small if you need). The mince on toast was fine.

Finally, a good strong cup of tea in a Cafe! This is like stepping back in time going here. The food is just OK, the sandwich I had wasn't fresh but it did its job. The person serving behind the counter has a stern demeanor but the chef was friendly and helpful.

Great cafe, with normal selection of bakery hot and cold food to keep my husband happy. Nice pies. But the best thing is you can order sushi, donbouri, and noodles. Really yummy bonbouri with extremely generous helping and miso soup. Had to take half home for my dinner. Nice place to stop and sit down, clean and well presented #loveithere #LetsGuide #childfriendly #goodfood #whangarei

A nice basic self-service cafe. Food is good for value, the cafe is tidy and staff friendly. Good for a quick lunch or snack on the go

Wonderful!! Best cafe experience EVER! My mum and I had a late mother's day celebration coffee and food here, and left feeling great:) The staff treated us like we were really valuable to them even though we didn't order much. They were smiling, helpful and kind, and worked together to give us attentive service. The food was absolutely scrumptious, the coffee beautifully presented and yum, and much cheaper than anywhere else!!! Amazing!

Bit slow on order, but that was okay. Good food made up for it

It's pretty basic food, reasonably priced, not particularly exotic or exciting. If you want a decent basic feed then it does the job in relatively old school surroundings. Not really my kind of place, but the coffee was okay, drinkable.
