Review That Curry Place - Whitianga

Excellent place if you're craving Indian or Thai food. The chef was super nice to grant my wish for chai tea even though it was a very busy time at the restaurant. The chai tea was superb too! Loved the ambiance. And the naan and chicken we ordered was top notch. Cooked to perfection and they certainly satisfied our cravings for some spicy food. We could ask for our preferred level of spiciness. If you can handle it, I highly recommend going for it.

It was quite unfortunate a visit where I had to make a special order to reduce spice levels and butter from our food to help with my gastroenteritis. The staff accommodated and the food was yummy. The chicken tikka my wife ordered was well prepared as well. Highly recommend the place to anyone craving Indian food.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at That Curry Place. The service was warm and friendly and the food was delicious, soft fluffy basmati rice, hot and freshly made paneer curry, with chunks of veges, beautifully balanced flavours and the right amount of heat (ordered medium hot). Loved the wine list (yesss Craggy Range Chardonnay) and I look forward to my next trip back to Whitianga for more!

This is one of the better priced nice restaurants in Whitianga. The food was excellent and they have a pretty good variety of both Thai and Indian food. Service was quick and was a the atmosphere nice and cosy. Would definitely return here if I'm back in town.

Butter chicken was absolutely delicious! Soft and tender, the service was amazing and the ladies in there we're super nice 👌

Food was yummy but service needs a bit of an upgrade. We ordered rice and it didn't arrive. We reminded them, still d it didn't arrive and food was cold by then. The waitress was friendly. She just seem to be the only one working.

An unexpected pleasure to be taken to That Curry Place in Whitianga. I would give it more stars if I could. It was busy when we got there but no fuss getting us a table. Service was outstanding and the food was some of the best I have tasted. Both Indian curry and Thai food is served and both are done extremely well. I have no hesitation in recommending That Curry Place to anyone who wants great curry.

Nice Indian reasturant in Whitianga. Can't remember what we ordered but all of the dishes were nice. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. However there is currently no Thai food at this reasturant.

Service and food was exceptional. Waitress was a good laugh, and really attentive. Our food was served quick, and was delicious! Garlic naan’s were soooo good! Just so happened that we stumbled past after seeing a movie nearby, and we’re so happy we did. Will definitely be back, and have already recommended to family. Thanks :)

We had a booking for 13 people. Samantha was extremely accomodating with allowing us to preorder and then change the order. The food was amazing, it all came out together and was delicious and the service was excellent. Everyone in our group was very impressed and we have all vowed to return soon! Great value for money. Great restaurant in Whitanga! Excellent service from all staff members and the food was delicious! Love the fact they have 2 different cuisines under 1 roof. Would happily dine in again on my next visit to Whitanga. You'll notice when you visit this restaurant that customers are treated more like friends and family, makes one feel welcome especially when visiting the town. One thing I would recommend is to try and book a table if your dining in during busy periods such as weekends, public holidays etc, as the place can fill up quickly.

If you are looking for delicious Indian food then this is the place. Cozy and comfortable setup. Staff is amazing and courteous. Very busy place specially on the weekends. Better to reserve a table in advance. It's quite a surprise package in such a lovely town.

Great service, friendly and helpful staff. Menu was wide and varied covering Thai and Indian dishes. Lollipop chicken for an entree was the favourite. Also on the menu for us was the pork ribs (entree) vegetable curry (lunch special) a little disappointed that the vegetables were just peas carrots and corn but "Singing Chicken" dish was an enjoyable meal.

My family and I just had our dinner tonight. We ordered garlic cheese naan, lamb korma, chicken lollipops, thai fried rice and stir fried chicken with basil. All were delicious. Host and staff are friendly. Highly recommended.

We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala curry and some samosa. This place was great because it was one of the only places open late on a Saturday evening for a decent meal. The curry flavours were spot on! Super tasty - one of the best we have ever tried and we have tried many in Auckland. The samosas were quite small but worth it as the flavours were on. 4 stars because the rice portion was super small i thought it was a joke. Rice looked like 1/4 cup to share between two people.. the curry to rice ratio was off but can’t complain about the flavours :)

Yum. Amazing curry, great pace (not too quick or too slow!). We had chicken tikka masala and a special. Both were delicious. Definitely will be recommending and returning

Had the best birthday meal tonight,best service and the food was to die for,we well defiantly be back thanks guys.

Had a hot green curry and Remy had a chicken with cashews. We washed it down with an oyster bay pino. Got to be the tastiest meal in a long time, the service was excellent. I’d recommend them 100%
