Review Marina Bay Eatery - Whitianga

Went in as looked quite busy from outside - and a busy place usually means good. Good friendly service, nice bottle of wine, and some excellent food. We had small plates options to share - 4 plates between 2. The beef was superb, as was the eggplant. A must try if you are here.

Best meal we have had in Whitianga! I was really impressed by the food here, especially the pork belly bao buns, tempura and t-bone steak were really good! Although the service was a little slow (1hr wait time) it was really worth it, they are understaffed at the moment as many other places are - they do have a sign making this clear too. The desserts were also delicious, I recommend the sticky date pudding 🤗 My family and I would 100% come again 🎀

Oh my!!!! this place was delightful - kitchen about to close and they still took our table of x4 The seafood chowder was so so good full of flavor ( maybe a little thin but really just delicious) And we shared a few other dishes that were so so good !

Great restaurant and nice atmosphere. Good menu to suit almost anyone. The fish (Tarakihi) and Sticky Date Pudding are both perfect. Great coffee too. Staff are efficient and friendly Good wine selection.

We love going here as the food is probably one of the better places to eat locally with an Asian fusion based menu. We had the prawn dumplings which were absolutely bursting with seafood, the mussels in coconut and the pork belly. It was all very tasty and my husband loves pork belly and could have eaten another serving it was that tasty. Our waiter on the night - a young Dutch guy was extremely professional and had a pleasant and friendly manner.

I was taken to dinner, last minute Mothers day. Marina Bay was fully booked, but if we got there by 5pm we would be seated. Honestly the best seafood I've experienced, especially the scallops, omg so tender and tasty. We had sharing plates which were all fantastic. The cocktails were also great, even tho our wonderful waitress hadn't made one of the before, so good we ordered another. Their attention to detail was 10/10. I would say alongside Blue Ginger, Marina Bay have got it. It is a must for any visitor to Whitianga.

Went there last Saturday with a few friends of mine, as we gotten a discount from our accommodation. The Service of the staff and I think the owner aswell was awesome. Very friendly and helpful, quick and fast service and great food and drinks at very good prices, the place has a lovely atmosphere and I highly recommend to swing by for a meal. Cheers Gerrit

Arrived here on a cold Wednesday night. We ordered the steamed mussels and Karage Japanese Fried Chicken. Shellfish was in a creamy sauce with 2 rounds of toast. Japanese FC was more "Japanese inspired" than an attempt at the authentic article. Quite edible but I can't say that I would rave about the food.

Read the reviews on Google so booked for dinner and we were not disappointed!! Food and service was the best. Can't rave about the food enough it was worth every cent. If we were staying longer we'd definitely be dining here again.
