We where looking for some fish n chips to take to the beach and we stopped at the right place. Got a piece of travelly chips n kumera fries and a couple of scallops. The fish was fresh with crispy batter. Kumera chips n sour cream are always a fav of mine but these where cooked to perfection.. we ordered way to much food as there portions are a good size. We are a little spoilt for price at our local fish shop so felt this was a little expensive until we tasted the food... worth the price for freshness. Well worth a visit ..mbut be sure to eat them on the beach for the full experience.

Incredible little takeout joint, I was surprised by how great the food is in such a remote place. Not to mention the huge portions and very good prices!!

Back country NZ always welcomming traditional fisn and chips. Just what you remember from your childhood. If your expectation is central Auckland this is both the same and better.
Good value, not bad food. Was really busy when I went but not an unreasonable wait time. Didn't wait long to order either. They did really well with only 3 staff in my opinion. Great stuff
Awesome value for money, we ordered a big order for 6 and it was all really nice! We ordered burgers, lamb shanks, fish and other things. We loved it so much we had it twice on our stay in Ahipara. The lamb shanks were a fav and the gravy was yummy. We also stopped one arvo and had real fruit ice creams and they were delish, hubby and kids tried raw fish and all agreed it was really nice. Staff/owners were local and really friendly.
We had a reunion in the far north and ordered Food for 70+ people. They were very accommodating, fast and the food was well liked. Fish is fresh and batter is light and not too greasy. Would highly recommend.
