We had an amazing, relaxed long lunch here before our flights out of Auckland. The food was sensational. We tried at least half of the menu. Everything was beautifully plated, each dish had their unique touches and they were all delicious! You can tell the chef takes great pride in his craft and this is reflected in the plates that came out. Service was friendly, helpful and professional. I would definitely recommend!

Delicious food and fabulous staff. We were delighted to find this hidden gem. The meat was melt in your mouth tender. Lovely warm, quiet atmosphere. Great desserts too. Highly recommend.

Simply beautiful cuisine in a beautiful little setting. My partner is a big fan of the fresh market fish and I always go for the pork fillet with mustard (it is amazing). Great staff and I always find it easy to get a park nearby. James ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

I really enjoyed the French cuisine experience provided there. Very professional and friendly service. Small hidden gem in Parnell. All dishes on menu are tempting to try. They are family friendly as having kids menu too.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting to taste abit of France or celebratean occassion. This pettite french restaurant is tucked away and almost hidden. Food was delicious service was was delightful. Loved everything I ordered , "merci beaucoup"👍

Le Bistro des Gourmets in Parnell was a wonderful restaurant find for dinner after work. Tucked away in Parnell Village off the main street, I was warmly welcomed and greeted by the a very pleasant maitre’d and sommelier. The staff was fantastic, hospitable, friendly and warm, not to mention highly attentive. The restaurant itself was charming and unassuming with distinct French flair. I was highly impressed and excited to order wine and food. I ordered a glass of Domaine Ogier Cotes de Rhône which was exquisite to accompany my sparkling water whilst I awaited my entree of Malibu Flambeed Prawns with Tropical Fruit Salsa. It was a captivating experience to watch the sommelier flambé my dish before me as it added to French dining experience. The dish was exceptional, so much depth of flavour with the delicate texture of perfectly cooked prawn flesh with buttery honey tones cut through with exotic pineapple and passionfruit accents of the salsa, it truly was a heavenly experience for my palate! Following on I ordered a glass of Clos de Cazaux Gigondas to accompany my main, roasted chicken breast with tarragon jus and seasonal vegetables. Once again, the wine was amazing served in a very bulbous wine glass, and this sang beautifully with my dish. Finally to end, I was looking forward to enjoying some French cheese with another wine that caught my eye so I enjoyed a selection of 4 cheeses with a glass of Domaine Gachot-Monot Bourgogne. It was the most pleasurable wine and cheese experience I’ve had to date! I simply thoroughly adored my dining experience at Le Bistro des Gourmets for its fantastic French wine and gorgeous cuisine, not to forget the excellent attentive service. I highly recommend this restaurant for a promise of an exceptional dining experience, consummately delivered. I shall return very soon!

One of the best restaurant experience ever. The food was very tasty and pricebale, the stuff were friendly and lovely. On the top of that the place were quite welcome in a Frenchy style. We had a nice dinner, drinking a wonderful wine with privacy celebrating our achievements. What a great moment! Defenitely, we will return more often. Thanks

Amazing service and food! The menu changes with the seasons and everything is sourced locally. Their terrines, bread, dips are all made by the chef and it is seriously delicious! I highly recommend this place and personally cannot wait to be back there!

What a wonderful restaurant and dining experience. How lucky Auckland is to have such a talented chef in the local Parnell area. Each dish is crafted to visually delight and each dish delivered a unique and delightful experience. The serving staff explained what it was they were serving, clearly and accurately and then professionally disappeared. Ive eaten at very good restaurants around the world. I haven't eaten better more interesting food and flavours anywhere. The wine list was also excellent with excellent choices by the glass. So was the service, exceptional. There are many restaurants that deliver very good to excellent dining experiences. Le bistro des Gourmets, does exceptional with a plus. I can't wait to dine at a Michelin Star restaurant so I can understand what must be a beyond the exceptional experience. I can't wait to go back again. Has the wow factor. I loved it.

Went for dinner with a work group... set menu and wines to match, phenomenal experience. Goats Cheese Brulee was the highlight along with the amazing French passion from our host. Please go, you won't be disappointed.

We had the same experience as other diners. We booked a table because my sister had such a great meal, and it was the same for us. This is a hidden gem of a restaurant. The menu is quite small, but I’m sure that is what allows the chef to produce such consistently fine flavours.

This had to be one of the best French Bistro's we have been to. The atmosphere is perfect, the food superb & beautifully presented, generous portions, beautifully selected dinnerware, glasses etc. The service was impeccable & the soufflé was without a doubt the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. Great bistro, the food is authentic and representing some French dishes very well, the wine is superb and the service is great too. The French waiter exudes passion in what he does. Highly recommended.

Alex and the team have created a little gem here in Parnell. A wonderful addition to the great restaurant selection that we have in Auckland, superb very well priced cuisine, excellent wine selection backed by wonderful service. Definetly a top quality slice of the best of all things French, in Parnell!!! Try, you will not be disappointed!!

Great French food. Authentic cuisine. The snails were superb ... on a pastry .. not swamped in butter and garlic as can be the case. Beef was devine and sides of chips and veges lovely. A good selection of French wine ... we had a great burgundy. The service was attentive, not over done, with great advice about the food and wine choice. We wanted to move to a window table ... was organised immediately. We will be back. Great.

Finally we have an excellent neighbourhood French restaurant in Parnell! Beautifully and lovingly presented food with a real French flair, and impeccable service. The hosts also know a lot about French wines and all their recommendations were spot on. It was the most delightful Friday night experience and we immediately booked for our New Year's eve dinner.

We had a wonderful dinner last night, authentic French menu beautifully prepared and artfully presented. Service was magical... always there but never intrusive. Priced as well or better than other popular places in Parnell, but an altogether more intimate and elegant experience.

Fabulous, just been experiencing the "start of summer" Rose Tasting, with a scrumptious light 4 course meal - big fat tuatuas, fresh tuna...accompanied by 6 divine Roses snd including a "wander through France" with Sommelier Alex leading us, all together was the making of the best way to spend a Wednesday night. Check out this great new French Restaurant upstairs at 237 Parnell Road - you will NOT be disappointed with the experience or the value. Looking forward to our next visit to a french wine region in February, bring it on Le Bistro Des Gourmets! Congratulations on creating such a memorable evening.

Was surprised to a fancy french restaurant tonight. We ordered the ravioli as an entree, which was absolutely amazing. Filling was juicy and rich in flavour, kind of sour but was a nice kind. Portion was kind of small (4 pieces). For mains, we got the potato and vegetable gratin and the fish with mashed potato in red wine dew. Potato gratin wasn't served as sliced potatoes, but flavour was nice because of the thin cheese layer on top. The red wine sauce was really good with the fish. Dessert was fancy and served in 3 glass squares. Chocolate mousse was rich and I got to taste the fanciest marshmallow ever! <br/>Service was good. Was treated very nicely.<br/>Atmosphere was nice. A bit too quiet though. Hehe.

The restaurant is tucked away upstairs. The service was good. We went there for Valentine’s Day. Luckily we got a table as we just walked in, a little late. I had a the lovely fish with tomato salsa. Just prefect. The dessert was simple but delicious.

We live in Parnell and are always looking for new food experiences, here is fantastic. <br/>Scallop starter was lovely with the added theatre of the waiter flambé at the table.<br/>We had the Turbot for main which would not be out of place in a Michelin restaraunt.<br/>Authentic beautifully cooked French food with flavour top of the list. Great service and wine choices.<br/>Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!!<br/><br/>

We tried this place for lunch. It is located on the second floor in what use to be a Japanese restaurant which may explain the plates!<br/><br/>We had the terrine (nice texture and flavour) and duck gizzard and livers salad (tasty but nothing special).<br/><br/>We had the fish (okay), skirt steak (okay) and kidney (okay)<br/><br/>We finished with the calvados flambé apples.<br/><br/>The wine list cover most of the bases but is not that extensive.<br/><br/>Basically it was okay but I don’t think we will be back.

Amazing restaurant! Have been twice now and very impressed. The food, wine, and service are all impeccable. Highlights are definitely the potato gratin as a side dish and the wine list!

The male waiter we had was absolutely great very polite. <br/><br/>The chef is an absolute joke. Tried to tell me frozen food is the way the French make it. He actually came to the table to have an argument with me. <br/><br/>Won’t last long in Parnell many better places to eat. <br/><br/>The arrogant chef has no hope here. <br/><br/>Menu so limited and the wines on the menu are sold out. <br/><br/>Don’t waste your money on this garbage, go to NSP.

Honestly the best French restaurant in Auckland i've been so far. Food is excellent, staff is very nice and welcoming, and it's a pleasure to be recommended perfect matching wine for the food your order. We'll sure visit again!

Great food! Great wine! Good value! Enjoy the beef tartare, lots of flavour in the beef. Omg don't forget to try the dessert! Everything was well cooked. The service of wine and food pairings was amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Been there last weekend with friends and we enjoyed the dinning at this restuarant. Seems to be a quiet dinning place at Parnell but the food is definitely worth to try. A big thumb up for the dessert!

Le Bistro des Gourmets provides a superb experience of French food and wine.  The dishes were nicely done.  We enjoyed the Terrine, the scallops and prawn entree, the chicken with red rice main, the fish main, the millefeuille dessert.  The long black coffee was perfect.  I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We have certainly missed a good French neighbourhood restaurant. Finally! The food is beautifully cooked and very well presented without paying French Cafe prices. The hosts also know their wine and all recommendations were spot on! We had an exceptionally good experience on Friday night and immediately booked for the New Year's eve. I do not remember when I had such an wonderful and personal service in a restaurant in Auckland. Well done team!

Your publish button did not seem to work first time around and I can't be bothered retyping everything I said.  Overall a nice experience with the exception of the beef skirt - too fatty which we should have realised.  Everything well cooked.  Nice cheese though a little under-ripe.

Some of our best dining experiences have been in provincial France, modest menu selection, welcoming host, fabulous food & wine. Now we can include Parnell where Le Bistro des Gourmets delivers all of this whilst looking out over Parnell to Rangitoto and beyond. For starters the four of us could not quite agree on what to choose so Alex put together a larger sharing Assiette de Charcuteries et Terrine and the Salade avec Fromage . Mmmmm gone to heaven with the Terrine in particular. For Chaud Plats we each chose different, fish, beef, vegetarian risotto and the pork. Just fabulous each one and some bread to clean the plates with!!!<br/><br/>And after the passionate descriptions of the desserts we had to try those, the Mille Feuille was magic, the Soufflé Grand Marnier - a show piece and the gourmand cafe or tea with sweet treats - chocolate truffle declared a master piece. The wine selection as you would expect is excellent and not expensive, we shared two bottles of the Lirac 2013 what an accompiment to that Terrine, and the beef and the chocolate truffle!!! Wonderful evening, we will be back many times.

Seriously The best French Restaurant in Auckland, and i am french so i know a little bit about french food, Everything from the atmosphere, the service the Wines and the food was Perfect, i definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to Know what is a Real French restaurant. Thanks again for The journey back to our Home country. (without the 24 hours Flight)
