Review Euro - Auckland Central

Mark Atkinson
Excellent experience, great food, location and service. Anniversary dinner and thought Euro bar would be perfect. We were promptly met with a friendly smile and shown to our table. Scott, our waiter was fantastic, really knew his stuff and had that fantastic balance of not being in anyway overly formal and very friendly and relaxed. Great wine selection too. Will definitely return again.

Such a nice dining experience! ๐Ÿ˜„ Whitebait fritter is a must try. Jerusalem artichoke ice cream + chips is a very interesting dessert. The market fish that day was the highlight ๐ŸŽ‰. The pasta dish though, great portion and has the pretty green colour but is slightly salty to my liking.

Lovely service. Staff were very accommodating and professional. The food was lovely as well. The steaks were in par with jervois imo. Beautifully seared and medium rare on the inside, just how we liked it. We had the roasted chicken with mash.. based on other reviews we were expecting small portions but we're pleasantly surprised with the generous portion sizes of each dish. Desserts though we're average, nicest one of the bunch was the banana peanut butter sundae.

Great food and drinks in a great location overlooking the harbor. It is also less than a hundred meters to the entrance to the Americaโ€™s Cup village. We stopped in for drinks and snacks, and sat in the bar area outside. The service was prompt and the waiters were attentive. We had the zucchini flowers, which were unique and amazingly delicious, and some seasoned potatoes with our drinks. They have many unique drinks and drink combinations, and several beers on tap. We would recommend this place, and will have to return for dinner sometime!

Euro is our top choice for celebrating special occasions large and small. 5 star food and service are consistent throughout the years. Menus are updated regularly and keeping us wanting to go back. Recently renovation has further improved the atmosphere. Top restaurant in Auckland absolutely!

I have to say it was the perfect time to head to Euro. After 2.30pm. It was quiet, one other table with guests. Great service. Food was excellent. Pork belly was not fatty, crackling was perfect, and the truffle mash is a treat. My favourite is Man O war Pinot Gris Excile - Sweet but excellent when chilled perfectly- Tick โœ”

Came here for a friends birthday in May 19. Booked as part of First Table experience where you get 50% off the bill. Total bill was approx $400, 50% total $200 split between two couples $100 for the evening was not bad! This include few rounds of bluff oysters/ cooked bluffies. Mains, two shared desserts and cocktails each. Definitely worth booking via First Table and good was great! Good service with the staff

Went there specially for the Seasonal Scallop menu. The celeriac veloute was nice with roasted scallop, scallop tartare was fresh, scallop slider was our favourite, scallop boudin blanc was very soft but the dish was slightly salty. In general the taste was above average but not amazing, however the seasonal menu showcasing fresh local ingredience was a great idea~ The staff was veru friendly and helpful, comfortable seat, will be nice during warmer day sitting outside on the wharf, ill be back for more.

Fantastic service and food selection as always. Euro always meets the standards I expect at an establishment such as this. There were some delicious things to order from the menu and the atmosphere was great too. Will definitely continue to return here in the future.

Euro exceeded our expectation!!! We went on a nice Saturday lunch during the Bluff oyster season - $29.95 for a dozen! The Bluffs were fresh and plump, with a tint of sweetness followed by strong oystery taste that lingered for a long time. Then we had its Prix Fixe lunch - 2 course for $35!!! Only a fraction of the price at dinner! Though it's a lot cheaper than dinner and it's a fixed menu, but portion was generous, especially for appetizer the portions were a lot more than that of many other upscale restaurants. We had the sashimi, beef tartare, lamb rump, and Raglan John Dory. All cooked and presented in perfection. The food were very fresh, made in a fusion style not just for the sake of fusing different ingredients together but really for the sake of bringing out the freahest and tastiest character of the food. Very delicious. It has excellent outdoor seating too with a nice view of the sea. Booking through the website was smooth. Highly recommended for lunch to get the best value with an amazing view.

We came for the crayfish menu and left feeling very satisfied. As always, it was a casual yet classy experience, with nearly impeccable service. Their special menus are always good value and this occasion was no different.

We took our friend to dinner for her birthday and had a good time. Service was good as was the food. She got a birthday dessert from the kitchen which was sweet.
Lili Mann
Excellent quality food as expected for the high price. Portion sizes are very small, would need to order starters and dessert to feel full. The desserts here are amazing, I usually don't like Pavlova but the one here is far above average. Overall a good experience;

I went there for my birthday. The restaurant was very loud and was hard to talk each other. Food was great. We ordered course meal. If we visit again, we would go earlier time.

This is a 5-star style restaurant I didn't like the menu layout. The food was great the service was fantastic and the flavours were lovely. The cocktails were fantastic as well. Love the view

Had a relaxing lunch by the waterside here. Ordered the pork belly and it had a delicious melt in your mouth texture with a lightly curried flavour. Great balance of textures with the grain based ingredients underneath. Also had the scotch which is literally just a piece of meat and jus, but expected a little bit more than that. Service is great as usual, with friendly staff. We wanted a table outside by the water, but one had plant seeds which must have blown over, so they were very proactive and gave us another table before we could even ask. 5 stars.

First time here and wont be my last. Had the oyster lunch with my parents and we all really enjoyed it. Was a warm summers afternoon, lots of sun, the water looked amazing. Wait staff were super tentative and had a great sense of humor. A little on the pricey side for the portion size but the food is definitely delicious.

Great service! Fancy area with older crowd/ people on dates. The decor is standard fancy lol. The portions are small but worth the money because it is very delicious. I would recommend the lamb, truffle chips, raw fish, even something simple like bread was amazing. I have dreams of that lamb it was that good. Honestly we ended up buying so much food because it was that good! The drinks are pretty good too. Would come back again for a special occasion.

Euro bar - finally!!<br/>Service was good and friendly, we were well looked after. <br/>Dinner was great, to snack on we had delicious bread and brown butter which was delicious. <br/>Then had the spaghetti for starters, good flavour and well seasoned. Only problem is the pasta was sooo thick, they should really switch to a capellini pasta. <br/>Mains was the chicken, boring! Nothing wow about it, chicken was a bit dry too. I should have gone with the pork belly. The pork belly looked amazing and soft. <br/>Sides were the fries and cauliflower, yummy!!!<br/>All of the dishes were well seasoned, finally a restaurant that I donโ€™t need to ask for salt, actually the salt was on the table which is a massive bonus.

Visited a few times and I have really mixed feelings. On one hand some of the food is great. My family enjoys it a lot. However, the devils in the details for me especially in a place that markets themselves on the higher end of NZ cuisine. Service has always been really reluctant, like with outdoor seating there were bird droppings on a seat, asking them to swap it was met with a sigh. The first time I was there I was lectured in a huff after politely waving down wait staff to clear the table because it apparently didnโ€™t look like we were done, perhaps it was a bad attitude or they were understaffed, whatever it was, it left a bad taste in the Birthday girlโ€™s mouth. The wrinkly tablecloth was just a minor show of how little things slip through the cracks.

The wine selection is wonderful. The food is Devine. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very fancy and classic. I would come back definitely. Food is yummy and love the truffle dishes.

I went to Euro with my friend last Friday evening to have a dinner. We were greeted by the most amazing waitress. She was very thorough, cheerful and open to our questions or even sharing her suggestions. I forgot exactly what we ordered, but the starters were the most memorable to me, especially the calamari. The calamari was really great that I was too eager to be served the mains right away. There was about a 10 min wait per course so depending on who you are it can be a significant wait or not. One thing that I noticed though, is that it was a bit salty, that I ended up drinking so much juice because your mouth becomes dry at one point. The truffle fries were average, so it might be better to try their other sides and pass on this one. We ordered the chocolate dessert, and I would dare say that this is not a kiddie dessert. It oozed with liquor that it was the most distinct flavour that I picked up instantly. The crumbs on the dessert were really yummy though. The overall experience in this restaurant was very good, and I wish I could have tried their apple dessert.

One of my favourite restaurants in auckland. I once ordered one of every entree between 2 and the waiter didn't even judge me so I can conclude their service is top notch.<br/>If their omelette is on the menu, get it. Just trust me on this one. You will never view eggs platonically again.

Euro was wonderful.<br/><br/>Got in early so the place was fairly quiet which means good service and fast service.<br/><br/>Beautiful venue on queens wharf over look the harbour and harbour bridge<br/><br/>Crispy calamari was delicious. Very well balanced and even though it looks wet is was still crunchy.<br/><br/>The eye filet was a fine main as well. Beautifully presented and packed with flavour.<br/><br/>Beer list small. Ok wine list.

I went to Euro for dinner with my partner. One of the very few places in Auckland with such elegant decor. We were well looked after. Food was yummy. We got crispy calamari, prawns, eye fillet and chicken. Would love to visit again.

Euro consistently delivers. We love coming here for all our important events and celebration as we know we will not disappoint. Valentines Day dinner was no exception. From greeting at the door to 3 course menu. We love all the dishes, every friendly conversation with wait staff. 5 star food. 5 star service. 5 star experience.

We arrived here for a birthday celebration where we were left to wait with noone to attend us. When I stood up to request to be move as our location was freezing (no air conditioning in this chilly environment) I was rudely told to stay and sit down on my sit like a dog. Night was effectively ruined and left without ordering anything. I don't understand how a restaurant who charges $25 for an entree has the capacity to have no one to serve you when needed

Wo good, the service and food were exceptional, we sat inside and still lovely there even though you arnt looking at the view. We had oysters, 2 starters and 3 mains and all of it was perfect and to the best quality
Lix
Really classy, elegant, attentive service. Food is quite delicious overall and served in good time manner. Will come back and try other dishes.

Friendly staff, lovely seasonal food, comfortable seating environment. The main has taken a long time. Summer will be good sitting outside on thw wharf, will be vusiting again~

Disappointing dining experience at Euro.<br/>Overcooked shrimps, mediocre steak,<br/>what's worse is that some of their waiting staff were a bit rude and disrespectful.<br/>Would definitely not return.
Charlotte
Went with First Table so got the food half price which was amazing value! The steak was so good.

What are the hallmarks of a really great restaurant?? My opinion- interesting decor, unique food experience and attentive service. You can do without the decor but the other two are absolutely essential. Unfortunately, I got none of the three at this purportedly fine dining restaurant. The decor was bland and dated, the food was beyond boring (veal schnitzel with fried egg in particular) and the service was akin to being at an extremely busy roadside stall in India where you have to fight to get someone's attention to be served. Went here for Restaurant Month to give it a go- and am never going back. The manager tried to make up for it after I walked up to him as I was sick of waiting for someone to take my drink order, to refill my water glads, clear our dishes after our main and to get our dessert- I don't think a 20 min is reasonable , but that's just me. But he tried to fob it off as confusion about whose station it was and comped our food. But he didn't genuinely care either. To be honest guys- head to the food court for better good- quantity and quality- and service equal to what you pay for.

We had a family dinner at Euro during restaurant month. The interior was gorgeous and felt extremely cozy. Our waiter was great, he was friendly and provided good service throughout the night. <br/><br/>I got the duck tacos and they had a nice smoky taste. The hoisin sauce definitely lifted the entire dish in terms of flavour wise. My brother got the Wagyu beef carpaccio and it was presented beautifully. <br/><br/>Next, I got the spatchcock chicken and the portion was quite large. I was extremely surprised that it was seasoned so well because usually Iโ€™ve had flavourless chicken before and itโ€™s not great. My mum got the veal schnitzel and I tasted a bit of it, it was kinda sour from the sauce and I wasnโ€™t much of a fan. My dad and brother got the raviolo and they both said it was a bit too salty for their liking and the inside of the raviolo was cold. However, we didnโ€™t bring this up to the waiter because itโ€™s still edible. <br/><br/>For dessert, I got the vanilla cheese cake cigars and it was very interesting. It tasted really good and the mandarin ice cream was flavourful. My family got the treacle tart and the ginger ice cream was really unique, I had a bit and it was quite refreshing. Overall, a good experience.

Came here with a couple friends for their duck set menu!! Really tasty food and great portions for the price. Definitely recommend trying out their seasonal menus. 10/10 service as well

If you want and impeccable service then dine at this place and you will be treated like a king the floor staff is just amazing in everything they do but what about their food?. We dined in here a couple of months ago on a lunch time, there were some diners but it was not that busy so we got more attention than normal. It started with the staff assisting us with our jackets and placing it in a cabinet just beside the wine racks. We were then first offered some oysters and I told them I never liked oysters, they told me this is a different oyster and tried to explain their offering, I was sold and tried some.

Another day another dish @pastaecuore . Came here yesterday for my uni grad lunch with the fam and as usual they didnt disappoint. My entire family was very pleased ๐Ÿฅฐ<br/>We ordered a cheese plate to start off which i forgot to take pics of ($29.5), Tagliatelle al Ragu Classico Bolognese ($28), Gorgonzila Spaghetti ($28), Spaghetti ala chitarra all'Amatriciana ($28) and the chicken ragu gnocchi ($27.5)<br/>My fav still remains as the gorgonzola spaghetti with its rich creamy sauce and pungent gorgonzola flavour, however the other dishes were all soooo good. For those of you with grandparents who have sensitive teeth, the gnocchi is a go too, my grandpa found it easy to chew and loved the flavour. For those who don't like creamy/ flavours that are too rich, the Amatriciana is spot on since its sharpness cuts through the fatty pork. And ofc the no one can go wrong with the classic bolognese ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ

Went to Euro for the first time to try out the 3 course special lunch menu at the moment, which starts at $29.95 and features truffle in every dish. We were seated outside in the sunshine overlooking the wharf, which proved the perfect setting to consume copious amounts of truffle. โฃ<br/>โฃ<br/>๐‘๐ข๐ฌ๐จ๐ญ๐ญ๐จ- The truffle and mushroom risotto was the easy star of the day. This gorgeous risotto took creamy to a whole other level thanks to the mascarpone, and had a delicious mixed variety of succulent and tender mushrooms. The truffle was grated generously on top and dominated flavour-wise, which was exactly what we wanted. Only downside Iโ€™d say was the raw slices of mushroom on top - Iโ€™m actually one of those rare individuals who enjoys raw mushrooms, but they were ill-fitted to this context. 9.5/10โฃ<br/>โฃ<br/>๐‚๐ซ๐จ๐ช๐ฎ๐ž ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ž๐ฎ๐ซ- This was basically a gussied up truffle cream toastie. The bread was one of my favourite parts - brioche loaf that was slightly crisp and caramelised on the outside and soft and pillowy inside. The truffle cheese sauce was delicately herbed with chives and had a subtle, creamy flavour to it. As veges of course we ordered this senza prosciutto but to be honest I think this removed a zing factor - there was no really dominant flavour and it was lacking the normal level of cheese Iโ€™d expect from a croque monsieur. Still it earned a solid 8/10โฃ<br/>โฃ<br/>๐“๐ซ๐ฎ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐š๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ข- This was another simple meal, and basically a great example of simple pasta done right. The rigatoni was cooked so al dente I actually felt like I was in Italy again, and the truffle sauce mixed with the egg yolk to make a juicy sauce that provided enough flavour (along with the grated pecorino) to make it deliciously moreish, 8.5/10โฃ<br/>โฃ

We came here with a First Table reservation for my birthday dinner. We ordered the Atlantic Scallops w/ Sweetcorn, BBQ Banana Prawns and Mussels, Slow-Cooked Pork Belly w/ Summer Beans, Day-Boat Caught Fish w/ Tomato, Agria Potato Puree w/ Truffle Gravy, Broccoli w/ Blue Cheese Butter, and the Pistachio Cake, all to share between the two of us.<br/><br/>My favourite dishes were the entrees (prawns and scallops) and the sides (potato puree and broccoli). They were absolutely delicious and I wouldโ€™ve loved full main sized portions of those, as I feel like the mains (pork belly and fish) werenโ€™t that amazing. I wasnโ€™t the biggest fan of the flavours in the pork belly and it was quite hard to cut into and eat and the crackling was very hard.<br/><br/>Service was very friendly and attentive, I was pleasantly surprised when the dessert came out as I didnโ€™t give any notice that it was a birthday dinner, however my mum asked them to write a little message on the dessert when I had excused myself to the bathroom prior.<br/><br/>A beautiful dinner by the water.
Chan Can Eat
I really love this place. The service is immaculate and I being Asian and a little tight with the coin purse - love their $29.95 3 course meals and bluff oyster specials.... theyโ€™re almost โ€œgiving backโ€ and thatโ€™s nice...<br/>Iโ€™ve been here for quite a few degustation with wine matched events too, which Iโ€™m also a huge fan of.<br/>If youโ€™re looking for an impressive date or a cheap meal - this place strangely has both! Thatโ€™s what I love about it.<br/>God, you must try their smoke infused whipped butter (with the bread of course) I think itโ€™s about $9 and o promise you wonโ€™t be disappointed- it may almost be your favourite part of the meal (not in any way discounting the deliciousness of the other items on the menu)

Came here through first table deals. Good location at Princes Wharf with beautiful views. The food and services were ok considering the price of the food. Will think twice before return.

First time having lunch here, we went for the duck lunch menu, it was an amazing meal, basic menu from $29 , you can upgrade some dishes for extra $ All dishes we had was tasty and the soup was surprisingly flavourful and not too salty. With a fantastic view over the wharf , it was a great lunch experience.

This was my first time to dine at Euro. The restaurant is a higher price point than other restaurants, however they delivered on all fronts of exceptionally high quality presentation, meal deliciousness and service. All of the meat was cooked to perfection. The service was very warm and conscientious , and we were treated to a very high level of attention and care. Kids loved it. Euro is the best restaurant I've rated.

Completely a disappointment! <br/><br/>3 main reasons. <br/><br/>My partner and I are huge foodies and we rarely eat at home( neither of us can cook and we can afford it) <br/>We do enjoy fine or casual dining and we have tried food in over 60countries from Michelin stars to little trattorias or local cafeteria. <br/>He wanted to show me this place as I wanted a fine dining experience. <br/>What a joke. The judgment of the manager on duty was out of this world. We were dress not so posh but still very tidy and formal. They had free tables and it was not a reservation time (3pm - late lunch) <br/>My partner got a cold look and he felt uncomfortable with the indifference of the staff to answer his requests. <br/>We didnโ€™t sit that day but I went again there with a friend. <br/>The staff had their favourite clients. If they didnโ€™t know your face, you were at the bottom of their service list. <br/>And when they paid attention to us, they got disappointed why we asked tea and not bubbles. <br/>I get it! They want to make money but there are other ways and this is reason 2.<br/>The last reason is: the food is not so great. Actually overpriced and bland for the quality they claim to have. <br/>We ended paying more than $200 but completely not worth it! <br/>Would go any time back at Clooney, Oyster and Chop, The Grove or French caffe but only if I am forced here. <br/><br/>What a snob culture... <br/>
Brendan Chun
NOTEWORTHY. Their service was impeccable and very attentive. Even though there was a rowdy crowd sitting next to us (that had a few too many and teased the waiter), he handled them very professionally. <br/><br/>Unfortunately though regarding their food, it was kind of lacking considering theyโ€™re a top tier restaurant (with the exception of the oysters which were the freshest oysters Iโ€™ve ever had in Auckland). We wanted to avoid ordering the usual steaks and salmon as theyโ€™re roughly the same everywhere. In the end we got the Bream Bay Scallops on Squid Ink Linguine which was great, but not amazing. The fresh scallops was the best part of the dish but there just wasnโ€™t enough. Thankfully the squid ink made up for it, being so creamy and full of flavour. Sadly we couldnโ€™t even finish the duck as it was a bit overcooked and I think it had mandarin skin(?) in the sauce which was very bitter and overpowering. Overall we agreed it was a nice but not exceptional dinner. Perhaps it was our own fault for not ordering the classics, but hey, if itโ€™s on the menu, considering their reviews, then it should be good right? <br/><br/>Perhaps Iโ€™ll visit again for the classics since the service was awesome and Iโ€™d love to give them a second chance given their high rating. Theyโ€™re located in an awesome area by the viaduct with an amazing view.

Great food, ambiance and service. We dined here on Saturday night, the waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. The meals came out quickly and tasted amazing. We will be back.

2 dozens normal oysters $132, what the hack??? Today is oyster festival, Crab Shack only $1.5 each, they have the same taste! I won't recommend my friends go there anymore!

Came here on a First Table booking, which allowed us to get essentially a 50% off. Firstly, the service and ambiance is excellent, and you definitely get your moneyโ€™s worth for the price. <br/><br/>The food is quite good - I especially liked the sauces they used for the fish. However, itโ€™s definitely not worth the full price. <br/><br/>I would come here on a First Table booking, but under no other circumstances do I see myself coming here for the full price.

Came for the bluff oyster special. $29.99 per person!<br/><br/>They did however charge us $30 each instead of $29.99 each... but thatโ€™s ok... <br/><br/>Service was ok. Not extremely friendly this time. <br/><br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Environment: 4/5<br/>Food Quality: 4/5<br/>Food Quantity: 4/5<br/>Presentation: 4/5<br/>Price per person: $29.99

Every single dish Iโ€™ve had has been divine and service was excellent too. The only thing I could find to fault was that the toilet paper was only 1 ply

Been here twice and thoroughly enjoyed both my experiences.<br/>The service here is lovely and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is very fitting for the Viaduct - almost feels like youโ€™re on a cruise. <br/> My favourite dish so far is definitely the duck confit - but there are so many other dishes they are amazing like the scallop entree. <br/><br/>Highly recommended to come here especially for a nice occasion.

Everything was good u til the waitress started being rude. Something happened to her halfway and she was grumpy as. It was valentines and we really didnโ€™t need her attitude. So unfortunately 2/5 <br/>Otherwise 4/5

Really good view, came here for lunch, ordered heaps of food. Love the whitebait egg fritter amd truffle gravy, quite yummy and suitable for kids.

Excellent staff and food. Service was great and food was delicious.<br/>The Peking duck โ€˜tacoโ€™ from the lunch menu was surprisingly authentic. I really enjoyed this entree.<br/>The steak was cooked to the perfect degree we asked for and charred for great texture.<br/>The potato purรฉe and gravy also highly recommended.<br/>Our server was kind and polite.<br/><br/>Would return.

Came here for a friends birthday in May 19 2018.<br/>Booked as part of First Table experience where you get 50% off the bill. Total bill was approx $400, 50% total $200 split between two couples $100 for the evening was not bad! This include few rounds of bluff oysters/ cooked bluffies. Mains, two shared desserts and cocktails each.<br/>Definitely worth booking via First Table and good was great! Good service with the staff
Rob
Went to Euro a few months ago during their Winter lunch special which at the time was their duck menu.<br/>There was a nice selection of duck dishes on offer with the duck sausage being my favourite but overall the dishes would rate 3/5 stars for me.<br/>What makes the overall rating 4 stars was the service from the staff.
Wapatino
Great ambiance, food and service.<br/><br/>The beฬarnaise accompanying the Wakanui scotch fillet was delicious and the steak was perfectly cooked. We also tried the agria potato pureฬe with truffle gravy and the broccoli with blue cheese butter and toasted hazelnuts. The mashed was unexpectidely flavourful and the broccoli had unusual elements which all blended together very well. My friends tried the fish of the day and the eye fillet and really enjoyed it as well. <br/><br/>The only item that we didnโ€™t quite enjoy as much was the squid with peanut miso aioli, toasted peanuts and Korean chilli. The chilli powder tasted slightly artificial and overpowered other flavors. <br/><br/>Iโ€™d be happy to go back to Euro and try more items off the menu or happily order the scotch fillet and mashed potatoes again!

We wanted a fine place to dine to celebrate a birthday and anniversary and we decided this has got to be the the place. Were we right with our choice. Definitely a fine dining experience AAA+++. Food Ambience Service.

Excellent food, lovely premises and attentive service. We tried their crayfish cocktail, crayfish quesadilla, a whole crayfish thermidor, schnitzel, fries, kidsโ€™ fish and chips. They were all perfectly cooked. The crayfish was a real treat with lovely flavour - the sauce with a little mustard and salt complements the crayfish meat. The quesadilla was tasty and cheesy. The schnitzel was flavourful and the meat was tender with the right thickness. The fish and chips was good. The snapper was perfectly cooked with crunchy batter and the fries was delicious too. Great dining experience for us.

My partner and I were promptly greeted when we arrived into Euro, and we had a very attentive and friendly waitress that cared for us during our dine.<br/><br/>We had a three course meal where each course came out nicely timed. I did find they have a very interesting and different way to put each food together but they were all tasty.<br/><br/>My favourite was my entrรฉe pigโ€™s cheek with a side of scallop, scallop was so juicy and pigโ€™s cheek was soft.<br/><br/>I ordered a chicken dish for a main and the chicken looked like it had been poached, which was a bit different for me. The chicken went really well with the wine sauce. <br/><br/>My partner had a chocolate tart for his dessert, I ordered the carrot cake for mine. I was a bit jealous of my partnerโ€™s choice as his was sweet and rich, whereas mine tasted sweet but also healthy, and I prefer the former when it comes to desserts.<br/><br/>The place is elegant with tables filling up fast even on a weeknight. They have a very spacious and beautiful bathroom as well.

Delicious food, good location, excellent service.<br/>All those food worth a try. Especially first picture (Forgot the name) and lamb. Best ever had.

Went to Euro last evening to celebrate my sons graduation. We were visiting after a number of yearsโ€ฆI wonder why? The experience was awesomeโ€ฆ.all of itโ€ฆ. The food, drinks and service. The guy serving us was great in terms of his menu recommendations, service, banter and everything else. The appetiser highlights were the fresh oysters, kingfish and fried squids. The Lamb rump and fish was awesome in the mains. To top it we had small portions (we were too full by then) of dessert on the house , a great gesture!!! All in all a superb experience and will be back there pretty soon.

Friends birthday party was here, had great service, lovely people and the dessert was to die for!<br/>Ordered the chicken, cooked well, had a great time overall :)

Really disappointed in this place :( been here before it changed owners and it was amazing! But today it was super disappointing. The risotto tasted like a kiwi sour cream chip dip with bits of potato in it! And the entree was so salty and greasy with bits of cauliflower. Very disappointed

Great service! The meal was great also. I really love the chicken dish especially with the sauce. People who work at the kitchen greeted us very friendly when they saw us entering the restaurant. Keep it up!

Great place to come for a date overlooking the harbour, especially at night when everything is lit up spectacularly. Maรฎtre d' was so welcoming and friendly, as was our waiter. Food was efficient, impeccably presented and super delicious. But I would have paid the whole bill even if it was just that damned bread and browned butter. The butter was like crack. I dream about that crusty warm bread and brown butter to this day. Anyways a really great dining experience, and I will definitley come back even if it is just for 10 servings of the bread and butter!!!

Came here for lunch with my husband. We were given the bread with brown butter to start with. The bread was delicious, very fresh with a nice crispy crust and the butter was amazing! I have never tasted butter that good before.<br/>ย We shared the duck pancake for an entree. It was great, the duck was very tender, the hoisin sauce was delicious but could have done with a bit more sauce.<br/>ย For main I had the Scotch fillet with red wine jus and bearnaise sauce with a side of pureed potatoes with truffle gravy. The steak was not medium rear how I asked for but more medium-well. It was still very juicy and had a nice flavour, I really like the jus as well. The truffle mash was fantastic, loved that rich gravy with it. Perfect for winter. Our waiter asked how our meals were and I said very good but my steak was over done, he apologized and said they would make another, I said no it was, I had had enough and didn't want to fuss and that I had still enjoyed it. The host then came and apologised too and said they would make another but I again told him the same thing.<br/>ย We then ordered the chocolate tart for desert with dulche de leche and milk ice cream. It was fantastic! By far the best desert I have had in a long time, not to rich or sweet, delicious flavours and I loved the milk ice cream. The host gave us the chocolate tart on the house to apologise for the steak which I thought was very kind of him.<br/><br/>I thought the service was very attentive and we were looked after very well. I would love to come back again, especially for that chocolate tart!

My partner and I previously had a great experience at Euro and were excited for Restaurant month this year however, we were extremely disappointed.ย <br/><br/>We ordered the bread (only reason for giving them any stars at all) and had an entree each (squid and pig cheek) which were pretty good but then waited 30min for the mains with no one coming to check on us or acknowledge our wait. We could see a row of plates sitting on the bench-top for a good 10 minutes and realised they must have mass cooked given it was a set menu. My partner ordered the fish and I had chicken which was boiled and seasoned with salt & pepper, hardly what you'd expect from fine dining. On top of that, my chicken was lukewarm while the fish wasn't, meaning it had definitely been sitting for a long time inthe kitchen.ย <br/><br/>There is no excuse for this as the restaurant was half full and definitely not busy enough to warrant a mass cook and long wait times.ย <br/><br/>Given the above, we did not tip and the waitress scoffed at us and was extremely rude when we left. She didn't offer to get our coats and I had to ask for them, then she shoved them in our hands and said "here bye." in an extremely curt manner.ย <br/>I don't see how us having a crappy dinner at all equates to giving a tip. She didn't do anything extra to try to compensate for our poor experience. Overall, really disappointed, especially given the wonderful time we had during our last visit.

Restaurant month is running for the month of August, so there is still some time to take advantage of this amazing special! $40 for 3 courses! ย <br/>ย ย <br/>The restaurant is in a great location along the waterfront and the weather was perfect for a night out! ย <br/>ย ย <br/>The food was outstanding from beginning to end! The highlights: starter - Jerusalem artichoke with soft egg and buffalo curd; main - market fish with celeriac puree; dessert - chocolate tart with salted, milk ice-cream. ย ย <br/>ย ย <br/>Amazing flavours, pretty plating and just a really tasty dinner! Definitely a place to go if you want to treat yourself.

Dinner here for restaurant month was a winner. The set menu options were fun to choose from. I went with the pork belly entree, snapper main and choc tart dessert and was a happy girl with my choices.<br/><br/>The pork belly and scallop dish looked small and underwhelming when it arrived but it was packed with flavour. The pork had a thick layer of skin or some sort of crackling and a good amount of fat and tasted very rich, so the small portion was perfect. I liked the hazelnuts it was covered with too, something a little different.<br/><br/>The snapper was perfectly cooked and went really well with the celeriac puree and fennel. Loved the crispy salted skin on top but a little bit on the too salty side.<br/><br/>Chocolate tart came with milk ice cream and some sort of salted caramel paste. I was surprised by how much I loved milk as an ice cream flavour - who would've thought. It's on the savoury side and along with the salted caramel it was balance out nicely by how rich and smooth the tart itself was.<br/><br/>Also pictured are the baby goat jaffle and carrot cake ordered by my friend.<br/><br/>Service was pleasant and attentive, water topped up regularly and not a lot of waiting between dishes.

Nice light decor, service was good. I had the pork cheek entree which was delicious. The pork belly main was a tad dry. Overall the food and service was pretty good without being remarkable
Lizzie
The epitome of fine dining! Came here for an early birthday lunch and was not disappointed! Was given an ideal table on the patio which was nicely heated. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend ordering a passion fruit mojito - not on the menu but delicious! I had the confit pork belly with Brussel sprouts - pork so succulent and sprouts cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Had the broccoli and truffle gravy mash on the side - so good! Finished with the feijoa pavlova - a must try itโ€™s so light and the valrhona choc tart which was a twist on a lava cake and super yummy too! Over a top experience and canโ€™t wait to come back!

We entered through the door nearest the kitchen and our server happened to be right there placing an order. I said โ€œwe have a reservation for 5:30โ€ and she knew who we were. A quick confirmation with the Maรฎtre Dโ€™ for table number and we were seated with menus and water. The service is a seamless team effort. We placed our order, the busboy adjusted the table, then he and a runner correctly placed our orders, without conducting an auction at the table. The wagyu beef and the Peking duck were superb, as was the broccoli with blue cheese and walnuts. Glasses of Louis Roderer champagne and waiheke man oโ€™war and we were sorted. A fantastic fine dining experience where people at a nearby table were in T-shirts shouts that this is the best place for your ordinary bloke/couple to get to get a high end feed without any fuss. Brilliant. We will definitely go again.

Took a close friend here a little while ago for her birthday as she always wanted to try it and it was a lovely evening the premises was lovely and the lighting was perfect. Our waitress was well deserving of her tip and the food including the bread was divine. I couldn't finish all of my food sadly but I gave it a good shot. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the overload of nuts in the coleslaw with the chicken. It would of been perfect without them or with a lot less of them.<br/><br/>We spent about $300 or just under for 2 including drinks.

Had the 3 course duck special for lunch on Sunday. 2 choices for entree, 2nd course a duck pho, 3rd course had the option of spending additional $15 for a half a duck a l'orange which my wife chose, or a duck breast. I had the duck sausage at no additional cost. All dishes were very good and the optional half a duck was indeed half a duck & my wife said was very tasty. Excellent value and very good service.

Great stuff!! Delicious meals and lovely area to dine in for a casual lunch or formal date. Service was great, except the time i went during bluff season it was a bit busy and staff was very slow. However the food was great so i didn't mind waiting :)
Cristina
Oh wow! What a nice surprise! I really enjoyed the roasted pumpkin risotto cooked to perfection and the best dessert I ever had in New Zealand by far. I don't remember the name of the desert but I can still taste the hazelnut caramel in my mouth every time I think of it. Kudos to Euro, made my entire month after so many disappointments โ˜บ๏ธ

The location of the restaurant was great, right by the water over looking the Auckland harbour bridge. The food was good however the service was slow. Our entrรฉe took over an hour to come out. Overall the food was good and the ambiance was alright

Have been to dinner at Euro several times over the last couple years and each time the menu is fresh and updated. What doesn't change is the formal yet friendly service - our waiter this time (I think his name was Benjamin?) was very funny and always had a line to make us laugh, as well as being very patient and informative through our many questions and hmmming and aaahing. <br/><br/>The highlights for me this time were the Chinese Peking duck, so tender and filling and made scrumptious by the hoisin sauce, and the Raglan day boat fish, which to the eye is quite standard but is delicious and beautifully cooked. <br/><br/>Can't wait to go back again!
Rebecca Davies
Very average, service and food. The โ€œbreadsโ€ were 5 pieces of brown bread and butter on the side. No oil no dips nothing special. Iโ€™ve had better quality breads and dips at northcote tavern. Service was unhelpful and pretentious and the oysters only came with lemon, vinegar was a $3 extra. Would not return or recommend. Soul bar puts Euro to shame.

Came here on a Sunday night with a group of 4. We were seated outside with the harbor view and dim lighting which was really nice. The service was good as the waiter just refilled our cups and gave us the menu, and explained the size of the dishes we wanted.<br/><br/>Starters - Scampi, wagyu beef carpaccio, oysters. The scampi and oysters were really fresh and when you add pepper and the lemon juice to the oysters, it tastes even juicier. The wagyu beef, salty yet acidic, was really flavorsome and amazing. The thinly sliced beef, perhaps a bit too thin, melts in the mouth.<br/><br/>Mains - lamp rump, slow cooked chicken breast, pork belly. The lamb was the favorite of the day for me as it was cooked to medium rare. It was very tender and soft which even the slightest bite would go through the meat easily. The bacon crumbs and the puree with the red wine sauce was spot on. <br/>The chicken was also tender with a lighter taste contradicting the lamb. Its purรฉe tastes fresh like its full of herbs. <br/>The pork belly, although crispy on the skin and surface, was a little dry on the inside. It was a little bit over cooked but the completely burnt carrot (skin) and dried raisins added the extra sweetness to it.<br/><br/>Desserts - Yuzu curd & coconut, chocolate terrine, creme brulee, pavlova, panna cotta. The best desserts Iโ€™ve had in a while. The yuzu curd has a cold sweet & sour flavor to it. Creme bruleeโ€™s raspberry & lemon sorbet adds an extra kick. Pavlova was crispy on the outside and very sweet and soft on the inside. Panna cotta was my favorite of the night as it has a chocolates sweet flavor to it. And the chocolate terrine has a very dark chocolate taste, but if you eat it as a whole, itโ€™s not that bitter.<br/><br/>Taste - 9/10<br/>Size - 8/10<br/>Price - 8/10<br/>Service - 8/10<br/>Ambience - 9/10

We were greeted and served by a very friendly lady from start to finish; she was so lovely and attentive, I really wanted to know her nameโ€”thank you for the amazing service! <br/>We got a dozen oysters, Seared Beef Carpaccio, Torched Diver Scallops, Hand-Cut Parpadelle, Raglan โ€œday boatโ€ fish, Confit Pork Belly, Forever Evolving Butcherโ€™s Cut, and side of Stem Broccoli with blue cheese dressing and walnuts. <br/>โ€ข Oysters were inevitably fresh, though we really came for the bluff oysters but unfortunately they were out by the time we got there (5:30pm). Nonetheless they were refreshing, albeit a bit too many small broken shell pieces inside. <br/>โ€ข Seared Beef Carpaccio was amazing! Full of sophisticated flavours, with cheese, fried bread slices, radish, and smoked yolk! The yolk was a very interesting and unique touch. Generous portion and incredibly tender too! <br/>โ€ข Torched Diver Scallops were succulent and broke away with a gentle bite. The Granny Smith apple cubes lifted the freshness of it, and the crushed peanuts in a small bed of coconut curry paste was delightfully tasty. <br/>โ€ข Hand-Cut Parpadelle was flavoursome with a strong kick of seafood. However it felt a little lacking in something; perhaps something cheesy or creamy? Itโ€™s mainly tomato/based. <br/>โ€ข Raglan โ€œday boatโ€ fish was a little bit unexciting, but the fish was cooked to perfection! The mushroom purรฉe had subtle smoky flavours pushing through, but the burned sautรฉed onions on the side was a bit overpowering. <br/>โ€ข Confit Pork Belly was good! Extremely tender and the carrot purรฉe and burnt carrot complimented it very nicely! However also lacking in seasoning in the Pork itself, albeit beautifully presented! <br/>โ€ข Forever evolving Butcherโ€™s Cut was the 500g Lamb Rump; the star of the show for me! We requested for medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and amazingly juicy. The subtle smokiness was sophisticated but not overpowering and was extremely satisfying. I personally would recommend anything from their Cuts section! <br/>โ€ข The Stem Broccoli with blue cheese dressing and walnuts are a must if youโ€™re into strong, bold flavours and textures! Perfectly smoked broccoli that was crisp yet tender, and the blue cheese dressing was full of flavour. The crushed smoked walnuts was an absolute delight with every mouthful; satisfying crunchy and really complimented the broccoli. <br/>โ€ข Yuzu Curd + Coconut is one of the best desserts Iโ€™ve had in Auckland! Creamy yuzu slice that was soft and buttery, complimented by a really mild and light coconut cream and fresh blueberries for a tangy and fruity lift! The edible petals were also a beautiful touch. <br/><br/>Overall, I would definitely recommend their Beef Carpaccio, Scallops, anything from their Cuts section and the Yuzu Curd + Coconut dessert! Service was perfect from the minute we stepped into the restaurant, ambience is amazing (even the toilets!), and definitely worth every dollar. <br/><br/>Food: 9/10<br/>Price: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 10/10

A huge disappointment! This place has lost its module completely. I'm not sure what happened to this expensive restaurant which used to be good. We ordered Peking duck and scallops. Both dish were pretty much cold when they hit the table. The duck skin was soggy; the meat was plain and flavorless.ย  The scallops tasted funny.ย  It's such a shame that the quality of food even can't compare with an ordinary cheap restaurant.

As an oyster lover, itโ€™s absolutely a fantabulous experience. Waiting for bluff oysters for so long. It felt like heaven when the first one slip into my mouth. Pure happiness. Iโ€™d say itโ€™s the best oyster that Iโ€™ve had so far. It goes so well with the chips. Pity they have limited one dozen for one person. Iโ€™m up for the oysters buffet next time. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff.
Jason Yeoh
Ordered a dozen bluff oyster and ate them happily as they were tasty and fresh. A few hours later, I was looking at the photos of the oysters I ate and I counted them, turns out I only got 11 instead of a dozen.<br/><br/>The smoke beef marrow on mashed potatoes had a tasty mashed potato base but there wasn't much marrow on top and it tasted wierd to me. I'm not sure if that is how it is suppose to taste as it is my first time trying marrow.<br/><br/>After I finished eating my oysters I was playing around with the shells by arranging them to look like a flower. I took some photos of them and the moment I finished taking my photos, the waiter immediately took my tray of oyster shells away without asking if I was done which I felt unpleasant about as I think it is rude to take away the plate without asking if I am finished with it yet.<br/><br/>

One of the best spots in Auckland to have lunch or dinner by the sea. Just be careful that the sun have no mercy of the ones sitting on the open area by the "grass".<br/><br/>Couldn't try the set menu as unfortunately it is only available for lunch, so me and my boyfriend got a couple of entrees, two mains and a pair of desserts.<br/><br/>The scallops were beautiful, fresh and with an Asian twist, but the prawns that came along with the other entree were overcooked. That was the only big mistake during the whole meal.<br/><br/>First main was pork with carrots and a beautiful puree, silky and delicious. My scotch fillet was awesome, cooked to perfection.<br/><br/>Couldn't say less about the desserts. The pavlova with passion fruit sorbet was very well balanced, and the creme brulee was just great with thin slices of peach.<br/><br/>Service was also good. The only problem was that there was a big 30 min gap between entree and desserts. I also think some of the dishes are overpriced (oysters for $5.50? No!), but sometimes that's the price to eat with the harbour by your side.

Easily one of the best European dining at the viaduct: excellent food, service and ambience. Had some Bluff oysters and the degustation course. Never had a meal that I was absolutely pleased with from the very start till the end. The degustation course takes 2+ hours to enjoy. Must visit when in Auckland.

Food: Excellent quality and presented well. Portion sizes are very small, especially the mains. The desserts here are amazing, I usually don't like Pavlova but the one here is far above average.ย <br/>Service: Had to wait a bit to be seated. The owner (guy by the till) is really cool, as are most of the waiters. One older fellow wasn't that friendly though. Wait times for the dishes weren't long at all which was nice.<br/>Ambiance: Very nice location by the waterfront, place is really clean and quiet.<br/>Overall: Good experience, not really worth the price except for the desserts.

Very fresh seafood presented beautifully ~ ordered: diver scallops, handcut pappardelle, marketfish and clams and buttered crayfish. The best part about everything is itโ€™s all very very fresh and cooked to the perfect level. The scallops were small but tasted so smooth with the cauliflower purรฉe. The pappardelle was filled with crab flavour and herbs. The fish was cooked well and the clams were to die for. The juice from the clams was so fresh!! Unfortunately, the sauce for the fish and crayfish was too overpowering and took away the seafood taste. The crayfish was a let down. Very small and overpowered by everything else on the plate.

Shite. I have been here 3 times over 9 years. <br/>Every single time, below average.<br/>Most of the time, no Oysters.<br/>Scallops, non existent.<br/>Last time we went here, we went with a prominent NZ family. Asked for medium rare steak, it came out well done. You are better off going to McDonalds
Michael Kelly
Very disappointing meal. Didn't live up to expectations. Very over rated. Dirty glass served then cold food. I wouldn't want to go back. Waitress didnt even care for our concerns. There are plenty of other places that would treat you better than Euro.

This is an amazing restaurant. The moment you step into the restaurant you can feel that the relaxing atmosphere.ย <br/>Service was top notch. Food was amazing .ย <br/>The crayfish melted in our mouth from the first bite. The market fish was cooked amazingly soft and flavours complimented every bite.ย <br/>The Central Otago Pinot complimented the food.ย <br/>We even saved some space for desserts, the meringue was good and worth every bite. Loved the total experience.:)

Went and had a great meal, they were very accomodating to vegetarians. The food tasted and looked amazing! Front of house was great except for our server he was rushing us and was a bit rude but everyone else who assited us made up for it. <br/><br/>Overall good experience.

Service was outstanding. <br/>Setting was just as good. <br/>Food was nothing spectacular but solid. Raw fish was great and the steak was cooked well. <br/>Spaghetti was good but some overpowering flavours. Sides were great.

Delicious food, nice staff and great ambience. I've been there a couple of times and each time I have an even better experience. Spagetthi was delicious but dessert was my favourite part, delicious and different. Definitely recommend this place.

What an absolute treat! Everything from my Huckleberry Fig Cocktail to my Lemon Curd Dessert was delicious. I loved the open kitchen... delicious smells wafting past... I thought it was quite busy for a Thursday night but what would I know. <br/><br/>The waitress, was awesome and made us feel quite at home, the whole night was just on a different level, but for me the star of the night was the lemon curd dessert, such a wonderful way to end the night. I be back... one day!

We made reservation in advance as it was busy Saturday dinner time. Eventhoug they were so busy, they kept smile on their face, and we were well looked after. All the dishes were well presented with rich/full of flavour. Good portion of the dish for the price too. I loved the desserts and they were definetly better than any other specialised dessert places in Auckland :)

A first time visit to celebrate a birthday has been a wonderful dining experience. Friendly and accommodating service supported by delicious food make a great combination. <br/>Started with ceviche and Korean chilli squid, mains of Te Mana lamb and crispy pork belly, finished with warm apple pudding - all great!<br/>Our only issue was the level of reflected noise while dining inside.<br/>Happily contemplating a return trip in warmer weather, sitting at an outside table.

We had a huge family dinner here consisting of 20 people. The servers were extremely polite and considerate towards us and catered to our needs. Food was amazing and the restaurant was clean and classy.

Impeccable service and amazing food! We dined here for dinner last night, after trawling through a large list of possible restaurants we finally decided to give euro a try and we are so god we did. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience with faultless food and customer service. <br/><br/>I highly recommend the Meyer lemon dessert, I can only describe it as tasting of heaven.
Izabella Pinker
Ordered the pork belly, I was really disappointed. Half was dry and half was incredibly oily which makes me think one of the three pieces was old, but even so- the super oily fresher seeming ones weren't nice at all. Their mojitos are great though, and so were the fries. It's really heart breaking when you go to such a renowned restaurant and the best thing was the fries... will probably stick to Ostro, Soul and Mekong Baby if I want somewhere nice to have lunch.

Have heard many good things about Euro years ago, and finally went to celebrate birthday dinner. Never been Euro before as there are so many different restaurants to try in Auckland these years, and I actually enjoy trying something new and interesting. Euro is always on the list back to few years ago, but feels like too expensive/high classic to try in my type of restaurant list. Have to say even the restaurant design, food presentation is not as amazing as what I expected, the food is nice, portion size is big- I order too much as I thought the size would be small. The service is great. When I first arrived, the waiter who served us is little bit too professional for me, I actually like little bit more casual, warm and friend service. Then a French waiter took over the table, and he is friendly and funny, and I believe that's what restaurant service should be. Thank you for a great night in Euro.

This was back in the day when they had the special lobster menu. Around the second half of last year? <br/>The service here is always lovely and professional and the interior decor is inspirational. <br/>The lobster was fresh and all the dishes we ordered were really tasty. The pasta was especially tasty. <br/>Their chips are perfectly crisp too, we get them every time we have gone.

Loved this place ! Everything was on point although I would've liked my lamb a bit more cooked ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป beef tartare was on point ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป otherwise beautiful setting, professional service and lovely interior โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Loved it!<br/>place is beautiful and staff are amazing. the prices for portion of food I think is incredibly reasonable. I got the lamb and I loved it apart from the sauce, I personally don't like cumin but that doesn't mean it was a bad dish as someone else will love it. partner got the fried chicken and that was to die for.<br/>Always come here to treat myself when I have a little extra to spend. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My first time at Euro was for a work lunch about a year ago, where I was treated to a range of high quality food and top-notch hospitality. <br/><br/>Euro seems to have a range of seasonal (or daily?) specials that are worth asking about. To start, I had a croque madame-type dish with egg and whitebait fritter. I loved the runny fried egg on top, and the brioche they used was simply sensational. It was surprisingly filling, too.<br/><br/>For my main, I chose a seafood pasta that had a good amount of spice. At fine dining venues, you normally expect small plates with big price tags โ€“ so it was refreshing to find that I was given quite a decent portion. Wouldโ€™ve loved chunkier bits of seafood, but all the flavours and textures on the plate were definitely keeping my palate occupied and satisfied.<br/><br/>We ordered a bunch of sides too (broccolini, mash potatoes, and fries) which were solid dishes to share and fill us all up.<br/> <br/>By the end of our meal, I was too full to go for my own dessert โ€“ so I tried a little bit of everyone elseโ€™s. The coconut tapioca had a foam element to it and was a bit citrusy/sour with fruit at the bottom. A nice, light choice compared to the rich (but delicious) chocolate fondant that was popular with our table. There was also a pear and caramel dessert that caught my eye; it looked a bit weird but also quite tempting too! <br/><br/>All in all, I had a memorable time at Euro and judging by their websiteโ€™s menu it seems like there are some new dishes for me to try next time.

We purchased a grabone voucher for a 3 course lunch and it was absolutely amazing. Great value, good service and the food was impeccable. We both ordered the same thing from the set menu.<br/>Entree - duck, which was perfectly cooked. I loved the little dick spring roll will the hoisin sauce<br/>Main - gurnard which was nice and fresh<br/>Desert - apple which was lovely and warm with a side of earl grey ice cream <br/>We will definitely return!
Nathalie
Dined here for our anniversary and we were seated promptly. The place was not busy (Friday night). Very lovely ambiance and the place was relaxing (unlike some restaurant that are too crowded and loud). For entree we had squid and ceviche both seafood was prepared and cooked well, flavours were subtle. for mains we had steak and lamb and again meat was cooked very well. The service was also great our waiter was lovely. A very high end restaurant and it's great if you our looking for fine dining.

Dinner at Euro... what can one say.<br/>Homemade breads with a Gaelic infused butter<br/>Went with Fried Chicken on Mash with Red Cabbage salad. Scrumptious.<br/><br/>Great dining. Attentive staff. Worth every dollar
Mandy C
Service, food and atmosphere is always amazing here. Price of food is expensive but so worth it! I love the design of Euro and how you can see the chefs cooking. 10/10.
Logan Burgess
Food is good as expected from a restaurant of this standard, however I felt they tried to cater en masse thus the ambience/venue was a let down and the food had that feeling like parts were prepared a week in advance.

Knowing that bluff oysters in New Zealand were in season, we dropped by Euro with some friends for a post-lunch oyster feast. These little plump and juicy shellfish are raised in the coldย cleanย waters ofย Foveaux Straitย until they are mature enough for harvesting. Bluff oysters are in season from March to July.

I went to Euro for my boyfriend's 21st birthday dinner. Absolutely amazing! Delicious food and friendly, attentive waitstaff. I ordered one of the pasta dishes they offer and it was outstanding, honestly couldn't fault it at all! Scrumptious and beautifully presented. I wish it was a bigger portion though as it tasted so amazing! my boyfriend and his family also loved their mains as well as starters we ordered. I'll definitely be coming back here!

Hadn't been in a couple of years having had terrible service and food last time we dined, but decided to give it another try - particularly given the great Bluff Oyster deal they were offering.ย  Lunched with 2 friends and had a great experience.ย  Shared some of the oysters and a few of the other small and larger dishes - all meals were lovely and well presented.ย ย The Caprese salad still has me thinking about it!ย  A couple of bones in the fish dish, but not a major.ย  The waitress (ex Prego), was excellent, attentive and very professional.ย  Will definitely put it back on the list of places to go to.
Deb Ra
The food is delicious...it is more of an experience and accordingly, not served in big portions. I would probably order two mains next time. The waitress was great and very helpful with explaining the dishes but personally, I prefer not to be tended to as often we were. It made me feel kind of unrelaxed and unable to enjoy the food as much.
Jess Abraham
Came here for lunch on a very busy Sunday. The wait staff were awesome and attentive. We ordered bluff oysters as an entree, and as someone who doesn't eat a lot of raw seafood, I really enjoyed them. Very fresh and simply presented too. We also got the bread plate for entree, which came with an interesting caramelised butter. Great portion sizes for sharing on a table.ย <br/><br/>For main I got the Crispy pork belly with tua tua, green tomatoes and chili. This was really delicious. The pork belly was well cooked, and the tua tua were a nice addition. The greens on the plate were well dressed, and there was heaps of coriander in the dressing which was amazing - added a tanginess to the dish.ย <br/><br/>We also ordered dessert - I shared the Ricotta Cheese Cake with my partner. Lovely texture and creamy flavour. Overall had a great dining experience at Euro and would definitely recommend the place for a special occasion

Went for bluff oysters and they were very fresh,up to expectations. For main we got the market fish and the scotch fillet. The scotch fillet was very tender and highly recommend, however the fish was soso because the seasoning and sides had a weird taste to it. The Peking duck is nothing special in my opinion. Service was great as usual.
Tim Shorter
Great atmosphere. Has a very cool Mediterranean vibe. Wait staff is superb. Food is wonderfully and thoughtfully put together. Literally every dish was my favorite.

Totally fabulous!!!<br/>Wonderful service and gorgeous food.<br/>The staff new not only the food but also a good knowledge of the wines.<br/>Everything was simply stunning.

Had dinner here with a party of 6 and it was fantastic. In particular I have to commend our waitress, who was attentive without being overbearing and we enjoyed easygoing banter throughout. The wine was good and the food was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back.

My family and I visited Euro to celebrate my graduation! and we were not disappointed. I ordered the Zephyr courgette main and it was lovely very delicate and the honey used on the dish was fragrant and delicious. And for mains I ordered the chicken with gnocchi and it was very juicy and I really enjoyed it. The only complaint from our visit was that the clam linguine was extremely salty. But apart from that perfection! Even the side of lettuce we ordered was great! topped with Parmesan and toasted brioche!

Very fancy place. <br/>Price for the meal is way too expensive.<br/>I really don't mine paying for themoney if the food is tasty. But i did not enjoyed the food at all. The pasta we ordered was extremely salty.. the fish meal had too many bones which was so hard to eat, chicken dish was very bland.. i heard so many great reviews about this restaurant but i was so disappointed. We won't be going back again. The manager was not rude but not polite, did not felt like getting good service.
Mario Alvarez
Services let us down, Too long to bring anything we asked for, not really serving our table.<br/>Either not enough staff, or not properly organized.<br/>We asked for very simple dishes, which took almost 55 minutes to show up at the table,<br/>and these came ALL COLD, ย at different times, and with missing items on the plate.<br/>Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't go again.<br/>There are at least another 100 places to eat better food, with better service.<br/><br/>Totally dissapointed.
Elle
Service, decor and ambience is what you would expect for the price point. Some dishes taste wonderful while others are underseasoned. Found lunch times to be a bit hit and miss but dinner times it has always been wonderful.
S K
Good food, champagne, and wine! Friendly service from the waiters. Good ambiance. ย I'll go back when I'm in Auckland. Thanks to all the staff who made it a positive experience.

I'm surprised I'm writing this review, having been to Euro before and experienced the most amazing food I expected this visit to be no different, unfortunately, I'm shocked to say, I was so disappointed, the peking duck was very nice, the monk fish was over cooked and extremely rubbery and the panna cotta left a lot to be desired, on the plus side, the service was excellent, other members of our party found the food to be very average! Such a shame

Dinner at Euro on a Friday night around 8pm not too busy, the Wood fired free range chicken was excellent and the non alcoholic strawberry and tropical cocktails I would highlight recommend. Dessert included the warm banana cake which I regret ordering as the Molten Chocolate's Fondant was absolutely amazing. Fantastic and delightful staff and would highly recommend. One of the top restaurant's in Auckland for any occasion to go to. And will be going back again for lunch in summer time.

My mother and I were out in town, hunting for a place to have dinner on a cold and windy Auckland day. The owner who greeted us at the door was so lovely and chatty; he even offered us a complementary coffee while we had a look at the menu. Impressed by the service, we decided to stay. The food was amazing and a very enjoyable evening. Thanks Euro.

Family reunion at Euro. Nice atmosphere and service. Proper proportion for three orders. Quite disappointed with the sauce in the market fish, it was too salty, but the fish is cooked right about time. <br/>Three orders for just $55/pp really worthwhile.

Reviewing the Restaurant Month menu -highlights are the peking duck entree, lamb main and banana cake dessert (none of which I ordered but did try out of menu envy).
Chelsea
Enjoyed my visit last night for the "Restaurant of the Month" menu, $55 for 3 courses. We ordered Peking duck, Roast onion consomme for entree, fish & Hawke's bay lamb as main, and finished with banana cake & Black seasame panna cotta for dessert. Overall really enjoyable, delicious food, great location and ambiance, ย just-about-right portion size, I do love The Sugar Club but the portion size over there is way to small. Fish is bit salty to my taste, but dessert was amazing, it has such an artistic presentation that I don't even want to break it, will certainly come back.

Absolutely gorgeous food, decor and staff. Hooray for the separate vegetarian menu. The agnolotti is to die for. These guys were super cute and insisted I have dessert for my birthday!
Nick
The food was excellent and the service friendly and helpful. Loved being in a place which isn't trying to push out your dishes as fast as possible and turn the tables as many times as they can during the evening, but instead let's you take the time to appreciate the meal and enjoy the atmosphere. Thanks for the great evening guys!

Went to Euro for the first time since the re-opening for my mum's birthday and I was looking forward to it all day.<br/>My parents decided to go there because they had an amazing experience with the reopened Euro not too long ago for their anniversary hence the reason why they chose this place.<br/>The selling point for them was the way they served their champagne (as they really enjoy their wines) and that was the real reason why they wanted to go back.<br/>I have to say for the amount dinner costed ($457) for 4 people including the Pol Roger champage- the real let down of the night was the service from one waiter in particular.<br/>The service from other staff was great, we were greeted with smiles and treated us with great hospitality.<br/>The one waiter who I assume was assigned to our table was VERY passive aggressive towards us because my dad wasn't happy with the temperature of the champagne (not chilled enough). For a $170 bottle, I'm sure we had the right to some say of how we wanted it. After the initial complaint, our waiter treated us with more aggression than in the beginning (as if we weren't good enough for the place), essentially making us feel very unwelcome. I don't think that it was "just his personality" because he was treating surrounding diners very differently, much more respectfully and a lot nicer too.<br/>The saving grace was definitely the food and other staff members who were very accomodating.<br/>I left feeling very unhappy with the service, especially for what we paid

Visited Euro on last night ย for attending the Mt. Difficulty single vineyard Point Noir pre-release dinner. It was my second time to be Euro and got a very memorable time there again. ย Tried 3 kinds of ย white wine and 4 kinds of ย Point Noir of Mt. Difficulty vineyard with high class 5 course dinner. All dishes were very tasty and fresh. All staff were very friendly and ย warm-hearted.

A friend and I dined in on Monday the 9th of May for lunch and the service was a joke. We started off with ordering the oyster special and had every intention on ordering a meal afterwards as the food looked good. However when we were arrived we were ignored and finally once seated we were ignored furthermore. We ordered a drink and the oysters and the oysters came out first followed by the drinks. Our side plates were cleared then given immediately to the diners on the table next to us. This however isn't the worst part, the tone of our waiter and I believe a manager was so belittling making us feel so unwelcome was just the icing on the cake. We left promptly and still hungry making our way to Soul bar were the service was amazing from the start. Was certainly not expecting service like this from such an institution, we were beyond disappointed.

My sister and I went out for a girls dinner last night and decided to check out Euro as I had never been there before. The food was delicious and the service fantastic. I had the cheese starter and my sister had the pancetta starter. For mains we had the steak and the pork belly with the side of veges. Deseret was the chocolate molten pudding and the peanut butter and salted caramel Mille feuille. Amazing!!!
Karl Evangelista
Went here for my birthday lunch and I can say that it was actually really good.<br/><br/>The service is superb. We were welcomed and seated promptly. Ambience was excellent and the weather was good as well with the view of the wharf. <br/><br/>The pork belly was really soft that it melts in your mouth. Had it with a side of potato mash and bone marrow which was average. The tropical treat drink went well with my pork for I just wanted something non alcoholic. <br/><br/>Girlfriend ordered the chicken which was full of flavour and really soft as well. She finished her plate which means she definitely enjoyed it. <br/><br/>I would recommend to get some of their bread as a starter which was surprisingly good. <br/><br/>Lucky was able to try their dessert. And would highly recommend it as well!:)<br/><br/>Will definitely come back

I chose to dine here with my brother for my 21st birthday dinner, courtesy the parents (who live overseas). The service was fast and friendly. My brother and I were a bit daunted when it came to ordering, but our server that night was lovely. He was patient and funny, helping us decide on what we'd like, keeping our appetites and preferences in mind. We ended up having freshly shucked oysters (my brother), and Peking duck leg and breast (myself), for starters. The food was divine and excellently prepared. We followed with woodfire roasted chicken for him, while I had Hawke's bay lamb, rack and belly. Again, expertly cooked to perfection. And I'm not really one for lamb, but I could not get enough of this! As a person with a relatively small stomach, I managed to fit in a starter, a main, AND a shared dessert of molten chocolate fondant. It was heavenly, and I could not have asked for a better way to celebrate my big night. If you're looking to splurge on a fancy evening out and want a bit of pampering, look no further - Euro is the place to go.

My friends & I had a lunch at Euro for its bluff oysters special (a dozen/person in the month of March for $20). We had a loaf of bread & small plates of quail terrine with roasted peach, duck liver parfait & warm brioche and Peking duck leg & breast & spring roll. Oysters were beautiful. It was a satisfying & enjoyable lunch. (Food - 4.5/5; Service - 4.5/5; Ambience - 4.5/5)

Amazing service and food. Lunch here was very special. The bread was warm and fresh. Oysters were mouth watering. The market fish was great. The risotto, chicken were all good and so were the Beetroot and salad on the side.

Thanks to children's Xmas voucher we dined at Euro on Saturday night, my first time here, my wife has been before, so looking forward to the experience.<br/><br/>Met by David who became our server, extremely good at his job, great knowledge of the food and wine list and was very friendly and attentive, top marks to him for making it an excellent evening. Breads to start and that set the tone, crisp crust soft bread and a delicate butter set the standard for the meal and it did not disappoint. After a lengthy decision process I went with the Yellow Fin Tuna Entrรฉe', my Wife the fresh Oysters stunning start to dinner. The Tuna was awesome and served with an Avocado whip was simply stunning, the Oysters lived up to the hype as well.<br/>On to the main, I went with the rare steak with sweet breads and Broccoli, would rate as the best steak I have eaten, cooked as I had requested and with crisp vegetables and a beautifully subtle sauce this was just amazing, my lovely Wife went with the lamb rack and was similarly impressed with the taste and quality of her meal.<br/>Desert was a chocolate pudding with ice cream and berries, cut into the pudding and a decadent liquid chocolate sauce flowed from within, very rich but a great end to the meal. Finished with a Irish coffee a great way to finish a simply superb meal. Beverage to start and with Entrรฉe, as Kirin a favourite beer and a lovely Pinot to go with the main.ย <br/>All in all this was a very special night, a couple of hours of decadence which we enjoyed immensly and will definite go again and recommend it to others

Walking into the pre-booked 8PM dinner for two, I was presented with an option of inside or outside, I picked outside, which included a white setting accompanied well with hints of green from the plants boxed up on the outer rim of the restaurant.ย <br/><br/>Menus were placed at the table, along with a short presentation from the waiter/sommelier extraordinaire, Alastair! Tap water did us fine throughout the night, but to set things off in the right motion, I picked a Maroni Espresso Cocktail, essentially a beautifully tasty and well presented espresso martini with a hint of cream on top! My sister went with the Man O War Rosรฉ, which lasted her the night. However I moved on to bigger and better wines!<br/><br/>We both decided for the starter that the Scallops would assist us nicely in filling ourselves up, and easing us into an already beautiful night. Although before that, we opted for the Handcrafted bread and whipped brown butter, which was no other word other than delectable. Oh, and filling. The butter, while brown, tasted like any normal butter. Although, before tasting, my sister and I both came to the assumption that it would taste like mustard. How wrong we were!ย <br/><br/>The breads were also amazing, given, itโ€™s a 5 star michelin star worth restaurant.<br/><br/>Next along came the scallops, grilled, with curried mussels, and other little goodies. Which Alastair the good man paired with a glass of Mishaโ€™s The Starlet, which gave the perfect acidity to the scallops, while easing down the harshness of the curry. Overall a lovely dish, which goes into the recommended list!<br/><br/>For the main, I chose the scotch fillet, with a pea puree and mushrooms. Overall the dish was impeccable, although my only minute fault would be the coldness of the puree, I tend to keep my main meals warm! The wine paired by Alastair was a french red, which from what he informed me now grows in Uruguay and Portugal.ย <br/><br/>My sister went for the chicken, which also is a recommended dish, paired with quinoa tabouleh and light greens. And from what I tasted and was told was absolutely gorgeous and light.<br/><br/>We also chose a side of french fries, which were beautifully cooked, although perhaps too much food after two filling dishes!<br/><br/>We chose for dessert a light and delicate strawberry and ice cream, which composed of a strawberry ice cream, candied strawberries, elderflower pannacotta and my favourite part, crumbled butter shortbread!ย <br/><br/>I had with this a champagne cocktail, which was recommended by Alastair as the sweetest option.ย <br/><br/>I ended the night with a delicious espresso, which perfected every part of the meal for me.<br/><br/>Overall, the night was perfect, high end and delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant not only for the food, but the service. 100% I have never had better more personal service than this such restaurant. And both my sister and I hope that Alastair reads this, and recognises his hard work is not only paying off but giving the best impression for an already amazing restaurant!

What a transformation this stalwart in the Auckland scene has undergone...and it's for the better! New decor without feeling like a totally different restaurant, but brought into the modern age. I was really impressed on my last visit at the new menu...the chipotle butter risotto I ordered...

Came for Birthday dinner with friends. Beautiful setting and a warm friendly greeting. The portions were not consistent, my husband had the duck which was to die for and a huge portion, however my friend had the ceviche and it was gone in seconds. The prawn entree and green gazpacho were both incredible. Whe it came to mains, again there were inconsistencies in portion size and appearance. They didn't look like they came from the same eatery, the scotch fillet was huge as was the Dover sole (albeit there was a bone), however the other fish dish was tiny (and a scale was found) and the cray fish was also quite small for the price, it was very rich and really should have been served with an ingredient that cut through the richness. All said the food was as expected. Although the food was ok there were a few improvements that could have bee made with the service. Chairs were not pulled out for the ladies, napkins were not placed on laps, cutlery was not polished and the waiter leaned in front of me when pouring wine to my husband, just did not meet my expectations for a fine dining restaurant on Auckland's waterfront. Would still recommend for anyone that desires a good plate of food as long as they have $$$ and not too high service standards. The waiter was very good at describing our plates once they were on the table, but we found this a bit OTT, considering the overall dining experience.

We visited on the 28th for a late lunch as we were craving some of the familiar Euro dishes we've enjoyed in the past. It wasn't until we ordered our drinks we realised the menu was completely new. No steak, no salad, no truffle mash and no pizza :-( Our very attentive waiter made some recommendations and we ordered the kingfish Niรงoise salad and the scallops. Both dishes were nice, fresh and presented beautifully. We also shared the raw tuna and tarakihi cervice which were equally as nice. All in all it was a lovely experience although the old Euro menu will be missed!
Nicky Luis
Haven't been to euro in a while and it didn't dissapoint. Oysters to start - gorgeous. Fish for mains - very fresh and perfectly cooked. <br/>Service was fantastic - a delight to have a waitress know the menu so well!

One word: Brilliant! Beautiful presentation, a perfect balance of flavours and friendly, efficient service. A place to spoil yourself with great tastes.

Not bad place to eat. Food was satisfying. I ordered the scallops and was delicious. Our waitor Bryan was awesome. Great customer service!!!

Visited the newly reopened Euro now under Gareth Stewart for Friday lunch. Loved the new menu and an excellent wine list, along with a good sommelier. We shared 4 of the sharing dishes between 2 plus a fries, which was plenty. The pig tail and cheek was absolutely outstanding as was the stracciatella with tomatoes. Will definitely return.

Just reopened on Wednesday and I was lucky enough to be invited along to the opening evening, so could be one of the first to see the new fit out (with the funky wall art) and sample their new menu. Next door Coley & Punch and The Culpepper were both pumping, whilst Euro was an oasis of calm and refined fine dining. No room for any amateur diners here, professionally qualified only please. All the plates that came out were intricate works of art with extreme flavour combinations, presented beautifully and of course deliciously edible. Perhaps a little high brow for my taste but when one is surrounded by quality it is recognised. Seating is warm and accommodating (take the corner booths) and service top notch.

This was a surprise dinner thrown by my wife.<br/>We always heard so much about euro but never had a chance to go there.<br/>Everything was awesome<br/>Lovely hostess who seated us....<br/>One of the best server ever Jared<br/>Exceptional personality with super sense of wisdom and humor <br/>He made great recommendation and was always attention to detail.<br/>Both the bar tenders were friendly.<br/>Let's not be shocked.... We had appetizers three of them....hawkes bay lamb , fresh mozzarella and the crab and prawn in jalapeรฑo cream n caviar... No words to explain the creation.<br/>The snapper got mains hot the spot !!!!<br/>My wife enjoyed the lamb rack <br/>The desserts were superb. Cinnamon creme brรปlรฉe and some delicious sorbet<br/>We just can't say how happy we were<br/>Great work chefs ! Thank you Jared

Me and my boyfriend went there for our anniversary dinner. We ordered the Auckland Month special 3-course menu which is 55per person. It's a value deal compare to their normal prices in the menu. Highly recommend the Peking duck which is really tender and flavourful. But I didn't enjoy the Long Island Duck because the duck is a bit too fat and the sauce is too oily and sweet.<br/>Overall, the food is well presented and taste great. But for the normal price I think it's a bit overpriced. The server who served us is quite professional and humorous.
Edmond Young
Auckland restaurant deal! Couldn't resist. 3 courses for $55, food and staff were amazing. Definitely lives up to its reputation and highly recommended. Peaking duck, pork belly and float.
Lacey Thompson
Restaurant month deal, 3 courses for 55! I had the Peking duck pancakes followed by the pork belly on king crab risotto and the chocolate pudding for dessert. Good service, all meals good but not amazing. The chianti wine was very good and highly recommended.

My partner and I have dined at Euro Bar a few times and we absolutely love it. It's definitely our favourite fine dining restauraunt. I love the modern setting and the staff are always so friendly and efficient. For starter my partner will always order the bluff oysters and surprisingly can eat them all to himself! I always go for the Italian flat bread with the tomato and garlic dip - although the last couple of times the bread has been really burnt around the edges. For mains we get the Fillet Mignon and the scotch fillet, both are always cooked perfectly and very tasty. For dessert, the chocolate pudding and the creme brรปlรฉe. They definitely have the best tasting desserts here and we're never disappointed when we leave and the prices are definitely worth it.

Today was wifeys birthday so we ate here for dinner an we were actually surprised it far exceeded our expectations. First off, our waiter was a knowledge of information, memorizing the ingredients of the dishes on the menu, by heart. And a very friendly, happy and funny waiter, obviously who enjoyed his job.<br/>Its a big place, lots of room and plenty of tables, but not crammed close with other tables/diners.ย  It was quite busy when we arrived.<br/>Our entrees came quickly, one being the crab and prawn, and the other was the duck pancakes. Great presentation. Beautiful food. Mains was the duck for Mrs and the tuna steak for myself. Again, the presentation was neat and intricate. And the flavours were delicious. Desserts were extraordinary, such precise presentation, the additional touches, flavours and tastes were quite something. The gooey chocolate oozing from the pudding was sensational and the creme brulee was different than the normal, and so damn good. Very good timing between courses, no long delays.<br/><br/>Service 5/5 - this can make or break an establishment in such a fierce and competitive industry and the service at Euro is at level I don't think many can match. Not just the waiter who served us, but the other staff we came across were friendly, courteous, helpful - and smiling.<br/><br/>Layout/tables/washroom - 5/5 - clean, tidy, immaculate.<br/><br/>Food/Wine - 4.5/5, all courses were fantastic, generous portions, beautiful flavours.<br/><br/>Our experience at Euro bar and Restaurant provided us with a very enjoyable dinner we would totally recommend.

There is a reason it's quite a busy restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service & a neat atmosphere. Great menu too, making it hard to choose just one dish

I like going to Euro and enjoyed it for last ten years. Love theirs specials promo such as Bluff oysters $25 in March!<br/>Lats time I went there 2 weeks ago with my friend for lunch special and it was just great as usual. The portions were good size and I could not even finish my meal! Food and service re spot on, yam. Great place to dine/lunch inn. Vine list is a bit pricey though.

The food was absolute devine, cooked to perfection. The flavour was amazing and although the price tag was high the portion size was great. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the menu. We booked in advance for an early lunch but soon after we sat down the restaurant started to fill up.

A group of 6 of us dined at Euro last weekend. We were positioned in the corner which was perfect. The food was amazing and we were very well looked after by the staff. We had a great night and will come back again!

We have been here a few times over the past couple of months and we are never disappointed. Service is impeccable and the food outstanding. I highly recommend their current special of whitebait fritters- best in the North Island!

We usually dine as a couple or with friends at Euro but last Friday we booked as family. I mentioned when booking online that it was son James' 15th birthday. When we arrived the staff made it all about James.<br/><br/>Under the new Chef Gareth Stewart we had the loveliest meal we have experienced at Euro. All 5 of us agreed the 5/5. Benjamin looked after us fabulously and all our dishes were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Gareth even came to the table to shave truffle over my husbands meal. <br/><br/>Thank you for a fabulous meal and celebration ....... till next time :-)

Had a fabulous night out at Euro. Can't stop talking about it days later! Definitely recommend the Oyster chowder or the SG Crab and Shrimp as entrees, duck breasts were divine, and finished the night off with crรจme brulee and the whipped tomino. Fabulous atmosphere - including sitting back and observing the tension in a busy kitchen handled with utmost professionalism. Combine all that with the very entertaining and knowledgeable waiter named Benjamin and the night was perfection. Thanks Euro - we are definitely coming back to go through the menu dish at a time!

It is difficult to find fault with Euro Bar and Restaurant. The food was amazing, as was the service we received from Jess, our wonderful waitress. We wanted to experience the local produce, so we chose the 'Fish of the Day' menu option which was exquisite in both texture and flavours. Not normally dessert people, we decided on the Creme Brรปlรฉe, and were not disappointed. Highly recommended for a great dining experience!
Geoff Cronhelm
Always great food and exquisite service. Been eating here for years and always a great experience. Wine list is very decent and staff know then pairings well.

We visited Euro Bar during lunch for several times in March as they had Bluff Oyster promotion. For a dozen of Bluff Oyster they only charged us NZD25! And it was limited to a dozen per guest. The restaurant was a high end restaurant, serving good food like angus steak. I like the view of the Maritime Museum and the port. Looking at the ships, with sea breeze blowing to us and enjoying Bluff Oyster, make my days so relaxed and wonderful!

I have been to Euro only twice and these were 5-7 years ago. Since I am new to this review site, I thought that I should leave some feed back. Euro is an institution in Auckland. It is big - and well situated. The food was good. Service professional but uninspiring. I felt and feel like this place is a bit overrated and overpriced. But worth a try...

I am an early bird diner and I like to dine before the beautiful people are en-route. I pay by cash so I minimize my electronic trail so my bank cant divulge my spending habits to others.<br/>We decided for a grown ups meal this time, a wine me, dine me & refine me night! Our girl was away on weekend camp so we thought lets treat ourselves<br/>Parking is easier when you go in at 5.00pm, park right outside the place. No need to book and you have an excellent choice of places to sit. The staff was receptive, attentive, sharp as a pin and happy to engage in light conversation. Hospitality basics are exceptional at this time of dining.<br/>We ordered the Rachael Scott Ciabatta (mushroom truffle mascapone dip) and the offerings placed before us were generous. The ย mascapone was creamy and thick and was enjoyed by us both.<br/>This was then followed by the two asian raw bovine appetizer dishes we selected, The Zen - Noh wagyu Cappaccio and the Buffalo on crout (from specials board, a take on vittello te nato substituting venison with buffalo). Both were wonderful dishes to indulge in. I had this with a wheat beer and I thought they went great together! Wifey agreed too after sampling my beer<br/>For my main I had the Long Island duck breast with gouji berry couscous. The duck ย breast I thought was just borderline overcooked but was very nice and a change from having it Chinese style all the time. I'm not a fan of couscous but it was nice I donated it to my wife and she devoured it. I asked the waiter to match a glass of wine for me and came with a nice earthy red. It was perfect (I can't recall what it was)<br/>Wifey had the fish of the day which was Hapuka. It was a good solid fish, plenty of meat, nicely cooked The waiter compared Hapuka to being like Groper which after eating it, she said it was an insult to the Groper she's had in the UK. (She still biased toward Atlantic deep water fish).<br/>We were very pleased with our meals. The cost came to about $200.00 which I thought was worth it! We were both full and no late night trips to the fast food outlets this time.<br/>We left before the beautiful people, the shakers n movers and pretenders arrived

Traveller. We recently attended Euro with a group of friends. We found the food reasonable, but the cost were excessive. The head waitress was very rude and had bad breath. We could not recommend.

Definately fine dining... Service is wonderful menu changes each season... Bookings are a must if going here for dinner but a great place for a special occasion
HJ
Great location right next to the harbour. The service is consistently good and so is the food. A little bit pricey than your average but it's worth the splurge every now and then. Been here several times now and have enjoyed the food every time. Best dish I've had here to date would be the rotisserie chicken. If you like cocktails, my fav 'forget it' is worth a try! The menu has a lot of variety and also a decent list of drinks. You'll have to book in advance to get a table during the weekend. Take a jacket or jumper if your seated outside as by the water you'll always feel a cool breeze.

Good views, good service, good food. The food is well priced, and unique. Bring a jacket as it can get windy. Managed to get a quick glimpse at Simon Gault as he spoke to one group of blokes.
Andy Thomson
This is one of the most overrated places in town. It is boring needs to change and stop living off its old name. Do something exciting. Very pricey not worth the money at all. Great setting and seems to be busy most times I have been, but just lives off its owners and a great rep from the past I think.
Kelly
I love Euro and I have been at least 10 times for lunch and once for dinner. The staff are fantastic and the setting is amazing either outside overlooking the water or inside by the fire. The food is very exciting and often unexpected but I have never been disappointed and they have monthly seafood specials which are great value!
็”ณๅฐ่ฟช
Duck breast is very nice. I could say their food just average compare to similar restaurant. Very nice sea view. As just dinning for the environment, I tried better food with that price
Keryn P.
So busy here, and really cool for an after work drink - I couldn't believe how much it had expanded since I last came, and wow it was all full too! Really cool waitress with blue hair, she was fantastic, and the food was great (although it always was so no surprise there). Loved it.
ANDREW RITSON
Stunning food had the bluff oysters for lunch, $25 a dozen holy how can you beat that found the staff friendly with a wealth of knowledge thanks for the great experience .

Amazing Every Time. I was pretty shocked to see some people who didn't "like" Euro. This was the second time I have dined at this Restaurant whilst visiting New Zealand and the most recent time I dined on a Monday night. The restaurant was surprisingly busy by the time we arrived for our reservation at 7.30pm. We were promptly seated at an outside table by our waiter who was competent, efficient, friendly and catered for our every need. I had a Prawn Tempura starter and my partner had the Duck Pancakes. Both excellent. We followed up with a Tuna off the specials list and a Salmon dish. Once again, you would be hard pressed to find any faults with both meals. Washed down with a couple of bottles of bubbly, you would be silly not to consider Euro as an option for dinner while you are visiting Auckland or are a curious local.

Great first try!. Little did we know this restaurant that piqued our attention was owned by a top New Zealand chef. The guide from our harbour cruise recommended we try it for fresh seafood. Although we probably a bit underdressed it was early in the dinner hour and we were able to have a table. Our server Nicole was very friendly, taking the time to explain the menu and welcome us to New Zealand. We began with two appetizers: fresh oysters, half raw, the other half cooked in tempura; the second was octopus. They were both very good and definitely fresh. For dinner my husband had the daily fish special - a lovely local white fish accompanied by a tangy salad. I had the scallop and shrimp risotto special. On first glance I was a bit disappointed - the scallops were much smaller than those to which I was accustomed and the risotto appeared to be floating in melted butter. Once I tried the dish my fears were allayed - the risotto had a lovely flavour and was loaded with peas along with seafood. We both enjoyed our meals very much and would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try!

My best friend wanted to come here for her birthday and I gladly obliged as I have wanted to come here due to all their good reviews.<br/><br/>It's a beautiful location right on the waterfront and we were seated outside and I can imagine that on a weekend how packed it would be so I am glad we went when it was quiet and we could really enjoy the place. <br/><br/>Our waiter was amazing! He really made us feel welcome, laugh and joked with us and honestly we think he made the whole experience so much better.<br/><br/>We ordered a 3 course dinner a la carte, the ravioli could have been a bit softer but the flavours were mouth meltingly delicious. I was advised to try the steak as I couldn't decide what to order and I normally try to avoid it because most places generally don't have enough flavour and I just feel like I could do better at home but he insisted I try it. So when it arrived and I took a bite of it I was just so happy I got it. It was cooked perfectly and the mushroom sauce complemented the steak and I just thoroughly enjoyed the dish. I finished it off with the Creme brรปlรฉe and it rounded off a perfect meal at Euro.<br/><br/>The only downside is the price, if you order wine expect to pay a pretty penny for it. Definitely a place to go once and for a special occasion!

Great environment, fantastic staff and a good selection of food and drinks make Euro the perfect place for catching up with friends. They have an amazing selection of wine and beverages, with something for everyone. Definitely the place to be for Friday's after work drinks.

We came here a few months ago and forgot to write about our experience. Anyway, our waitress was amazing, very attentive and knew the menu inside out. She knew alot about what the food was cooked with and if she couldn't answer that question. I had duck for my main, it was to die for. The most beautiful and tasy du k dish I have ever had. My dessert was really nice too, but just a little bit too rich. The restaurant itself is nice, but it feels like it lacks personality. I could have been in any restaurant along the waterfront. But overall was a good night.

Really nice environment, nice food and good services.<br/>I won't give it 5 because I found the sofas on the dinning area a quite hard. However, if you stay on the bar area the sofas are very comfortable and you get sea view.

Euro is a bit of a local, and sometimes we're cruel to the things we're closest to. At a recent underwhelming visit, a straw poll voted meals between 2-3.5 out of 5. Frankly, for Euro, even a 3.5 is a fail.<br/><br/>Yet here I am, barely a week later, turning the other cheek.<br/><br/>At 5 pm the deck is the place to be in summer. The waitress, a collection of tattoos and hair dye, was overly devoted to border on creepy. Glasses were refilled between sips. All orders were for bottles, even if you'd only meant a glass.<br/><br/>I'd spied Simon in the booth next to ours, and maybe that explains the improvements since least time. Fish excellent. Duck excellent. Oysters excellent. Canapรฉ excellent. Nothing here to remind you of your mother's cooking.<br/><br/>Rationaut rating: 4 inconsistent visits out of 5. While this definitively has potential to be a top culinary experience, for the price there are others who can deliver the best every time.

Euro has fantastic interior design and lovely, confident staff. I can't remember our waiter's name but he was so enthusiastic, passionate and had great command of his section. I had a mocktail called Tropical Treat which was delicious! My chocolate fondant dessert was also wonderful, it was so dark and rich and very satisfying. The only negative part of the evening was the slightly dry Terakihi. However, it was such a gorgeous place and I loved being there. I know I will come back for many more experiences with Euro!

The service was excellent and I really can not fault them at all. ย The Chef's table degustation was the single worst dining experience I have ever had.<br/><br/>The food was bland, pretty and tasteless with the exception of the Wagu steak and truffle fries. ย This was the best flavour and the tastiest by far. ย I was looking for some more of the 10 courses being like this. ย <br/><br/>The cheese crรจme brulee was awful and truly lacked taste and the cheese was over powering; I am usually a cheese lover.<br/><br/>I can't eat seafood, so the clam dish was wasted on me. ย <br/><br/>The fancy ice cream making was good visually, but earl grey tea and ginger really did play havoc with my taste buds and I couldn't finish what is usually my favourite part of a meal.<br/><br/>Very disappointed and will never go back to Euro again. ย I even had to drop by a local joint on the way home as I left the restaurant hungry.<br/><br/>In general I found Euro to be over-priced and too noise. ย The concrete floors really do carry the noise. ย There was also a near constant smell of cigarettes coming into the dining room which further let down Euro.

It's quite rare these days to go to a degustation - let alone a Chef's Table Degustation. Paying so much for a meal, there's the expectation of stellar food - which sometimes explains the hefty sigh that would follow an overdone steak. Or the chance of having that knowledgeable but icy waiter who makes me mirror it in the most awkward stretched-smile-kind-of-way.<br/><br/>A super special occasion or a yearly treat would justify going. For me, it was to reward a hardworking momma who had been busy looking after an energetic ball of cuteness, otherwise as known as my nephew.<br/><br/>Euro had revamped their menu late last year into a gluten-free dining experience that promises the same indulgent flavours without the dreaded food coma afterwards. This new food ethos echoes the recent food trends of healthy eating and people being more educated and aware of what they are ingesting.<br/><br/>I'm all for it, dining out and less guilt. We were seated on bar stools along an L shaped table around the kitchen, giving the allusion of watching a private chef at home. Our two chefs were brilliant - boisterous with happy energy that rubbed off on the 10 guests. Everything was explained as they cooked.<br/><br/>I could ramble on about each of the 10 dishes but you can check out my full blog for descriptions. At first I found the food almost bland, especially when I faced the greenness of the cucumber and kale sauce in the second course. But after my tastebuds adjusted, I realised I was used to the expectation of the overly salty and seasoned food when dining out. My first surprise was the red pepper egg in the Red Tomato Consomme which pops gently when you pop the whole thing in your mouth. These flavours were light but tasty - there wasn't the overload of flavours, just clean and fresh ingredients.<br/><br/>As the courses went along, the flavours got more heavy and food more creamy and dense. We weren't served any form of carbohydrates until the 7th risotto course -although faux spaghetti was spotted before that, which was a dream accompanied with the quail breast.<br/><br/>The big perk of a Chef's Degustation is that everything is well personalised. Before serving the wagyu, the chef promised one of our well-built male diners that he will most certainly be full after the degustation, otherwise she'll personally make him a burger. The wagyu, while looking tantalizingly small, had my taste buds going from the moment it started searing on the pan. I cannot resist it, I am a carnivore.<br/><br/>Eating at Euro, you'll observe the use of fancy glass gadgets and liquid nitrogen smoking up the kitchen. It's more like a show than any other dining experience I've had. Even when one of the irreplaceable expensive contraptions broke, the chefs were calm and made do with something else. Huge ups for keeping it together and thinking quick on their feet!<br/><br/>At the end of the night, we were even given an extra course - cake pops along with a personalised chocolate message to each of our guests. Whilst my sister in law's one read "Happy Birthday", I got a cute one which said "Just Because". To round off the night, a mini burger was delivered to the male diner for being a good sport, even though he insisted he was full.<br/><br/>Needless to say, I loved it at Euro. Princes Wharf hasn't got the pulse of Federal Street, or the glam of Britomart. But understated elegance has always been what attracts the business people that come here for their after work drinks. Don't be intimidated, change up your dining scene and head down to this area for something special.

Excellent food, excellent service and excellent decor and location. We had ciabatta to start, which comes with a delicious truffle butter we couldn't get enough of. For the mains, we ordered the rotisserie chicken which comes with a beautiful mash and the best coleslaw I've ever had. It was a huge portion, almost half a chicken to myself and I barely finished it. We also had the market fish which comes with spiralised courgettes (not the best side but still good) and the flounder which is covered in crispy kale and spinach and also very tasty. For dessert we had the European cheese platter, which had 8 different cheeses and a combination of bread and crackers. My favourite part about Euro is that you'd expect to pay a fortune for a tiny portion, but the portion sizes are more generous than even a lot of pubs. Its definitely up there in my top two restaurants.

Amazing bluff oysters, amazing value for money. Seriously the best oysters I've ever had. Staff was super friendly and very welcoming, the view and area is perfect.

Made a last minute booking on Valentine's night. We were so very lucky aparently as someone had just cancelled. We arrived and were confused about where to go. No one greeted us or made us feel welcome. We were told our table would be ready in 2 mins and to wait 'over there'. 20 mins later we asked for a drink. 40mins later we paid for it and left. Staff walking around knew we were there and ignored us completely. It wasn't until we were about to leave that a lady finally organised our table and apologised, whilst we appreciated her trying, it was too little too late! A lot of other patrons looked confused and lost and also were ignored. I say don't take as many bookings on Valentine's so you can do a better job...<br/>

date night with my wife. If it weren't for the food we wouldn't go back. Unfortunately we got the table with the new waiter...<br/>Packed night which made us wait for our drinks in the bar and when seated for our food at least 40 minutes each. When the food arrived we were served the main course - they had forgotten to punch in our starters in the till.ย <br/>Bad Service recovery. A) the chef was loudly complaining about the incompetence of the waiter (NoNo) and then we were kept in the dark about how the restaurant wanted to compensate until we received the bill, where they took the desserts off. They could have told us right there and then what they considered doing about the mistake....<br/>But as I said, great food.

I have been fortunate to visit Euro several times in the past year either for business or at a function held there. This restaurant is efficiently run and serves excellent food. The signature dish for me is the roasted chicken with peanut slaw it is the best in Auckland. It has been on the menu for years apparently it is not likely to leave it either the staff tell me. A great location on the waterfront as well makes it just the place for special occasions.
Ben Hewgill
Went there with a group and was disappointed with the meal. There were two options, a tuna steak that was a bit chewy in parts with a very bland sauce. The meal I had was a chicken with a rub. Nice but something that could be done easily in a slow cooker.ย <br/>All in all for the price a very average meal, not sure what the rest of the menu is like but would not bother trying.

We have been to Euro on several occasions in the last couple of years We have never once been disapointed by the food or the service. Yes it is a bit on the pricey side but well worth every penny.ย The staff are friendly and knowledgableย  of their menu. ย The last occasion was my wifes birthday. We were treated like royalty (or so it felt). I can honestly say I don't recall having had a better meal. Based on our experiences ย GO there-you will not be disappointed.

Visited Euro this weekend (Nov-2014) for a special occasion and attended the "Chefs Table", which overall, was an absolutely amazing experience. ย The service and food were both outstanding. ย Service probably got a little friendly towards the end with the waiter making a couple of slightly odd comments to us, but other than that from the moment we walked in, to the minute we left, we were looked after. ย The food was incredible, 10 courses no less and we wanted for nothing - something to suit every palate. ย We were both very impressed and Euro delivered. ย The atmosphere and music was perfect, nice level, we felt we could easily interact with others at the chefs table, but also be in our own little world - Euro you have this perfectly set up, however the one negative was the smoking area was directly outside this area, with large doors constantly opening/closing, loads of smoke wafting in... which wasn't ideal, but perhaps could be looked at. Overall, very impressed, just have to now think up an excuse to visit again! ย Thank you Euro, we enjoyed our special occasion very much.

Stunning food, stunning service, stunning location. All in all a great night and lived up to the hype. Will definitely be looking to go again.

I had the rotisserie chicken as a main, it was a bit bit average and a little too salty for my liking. Everything esle was fantastic, well cooked and presented. Service was great, a great balance of professionalism and friendliness. Would definitely go back.

Amazing! Regularly visit Euro for dinner and are blown away everytime with the amazing staff and quality of food served. My favourite restaurant.
Simon
We were celebrating our anniversary and went for lunch. Of course we were expecting to be wowed but this experience left us a little disappointed. We had the oysters (excellent) and the rabbit for starters. Beef cheek (bland) and the lamb (over cooked). The sweets were ok but rich. Maybe we expected to much from an award winning and recognised restaurateur but for $400 including wine for two, we felt it was not value for money and would think twice before visiting again. For a special anniversary occasion this was not a masterchef experience to remember, sorry.

Every time i used to visit this place it was absolutely wonderful.<br/>The staff are so friendly and welcoming. <br/>The warm olives are very tasty and leave you wanting more. <br/>The salmon and i added the creamy mash was really amazing. That scallop with it was perfectly cooked! juicy and tender! <br/><br/>Haven't tried the dessert menu yet, but this one is definitely fine dining at its best! good work Simon!<br/><br/>I have been to allot of restaurants and reviewed several fine dining restaurants and this one tops them all.<br/>Don't look at the price, just go!

Euro Restaurant is a definite stand-out in the CBD, stunning food, great service, great views and atmosphere. We have dined here many times and cannot fault the experience. Highly recommended!

My family went here as we love watching master chef and love Simons style of cooking. We were all disappointed and expected much more from such a qualified highly renowned chef.<br/>The calamari salad was ok. I had the rotisserie chicken which came with a slaw which was less than average and the chicken was rubbery. The whole dish was bland. My husband and daughter had the ravioli which was again average. We decided to go to Milse for dessert so we weren't again to be disappointed. <br/>It is expensive, the decor is dull but the waitress was very pleasant. I won't be going back!

We were on a last night meal with my sister in Auckland before she headed home to England. It was a choice between Sky tower and Euro...so we chose Euro...Ben was our waiter he was great very friendly great knowledge of the food ...he made everything we ordered sound like the best food ever...the food was really good, I had clam chowder and Ben explained I should eat the food from the clam first and advised me to stir it through my soup, to get the flavour it was gorgeous. I then had the salmon that was lush and lastly the lime meringue pie omg that was fantastic I could of eaten lots of those. Ben didn't hurry us was very attentive very polite he's a credit to Euro.<br/>If there was anything we didn't like it wasn't the food, only two issues one being, we waited about 45 minutes for our starters ....others who came in after us were given there food long before us. Ben apologised a couple of times for keeping us waiting. The other was a table beside us had two men on it who sadly were very rude, the langauge was fowl every other word from one of them was either f... or f...ing or c..t they were quite loud with it too. I would've liked someone to ask them to tone it down or mind their language. Not a good look for a great restaurant. In all it was nice great food good service shame about the obscene diner.
Mandy
Euro Restaurant has the nicest food I have ever tasted! The veal was perfect along with the dates. The banana caramel dessert was absolutely lovely. However, their service isn't great. Our waitress never seemed to be around and was always accommodating other tables who seemed like regulars. I would go back for the food and hopefully next time, our waiter/waitress is better :D
Milot Zeqiri
Calamari: absolutely disgusting for a restaurant of this type. I have have had way way better from a local bar. They were little, skinny and you could hardly taste the calamari. Don't waste your money on this meal. You'd be better off buying frozen ones from pak n save. The aioli served with the calamari was below average, you can get way better aioli from a pub!. We also had the opportunity to try oysters tempura which were fried which we were were quite excited about as we thought what better place to try oysters then a "master chef kitchen restaurant" but again we were quite disappointed.<br/>If you are after food that tastes just like any other restaurant, pub or cafe then this is restaurant is fine, but if you are after Fine Dining then you better look elsewhere........

Tempted back to Euro for lunch by their $25 half crayfish special and the experience did not disappoint. It was actually Fremantle Rock Lobster but that made it no less juicy and tasty, though the pickled cucumber salad on the plate was best left as a garnish. Tried the Patagonian Tooth Fish starter and this was just amazing - I am sure this is the best fish I have ever tasted. Firm, buttery in the mouth, paper-thin crispy skin - yes the cooking set it off to perfection, but the fish itself was the star. Two starters did not make a meal so we also shared the Duck Pancakes, a long-standing menu item of shredded roast duck and pancakes to build for yourself with spring onion, cucumber, and spiced chopped nuts - divine. Thanks Euro, we'll be back, and this will continue a top restaurant recommendation for visitors looking to experience the best of Auckland.

EURO EURO EURO!!! I have been here 3 times this year already! I absolutely love the non-pretentious and friendly waiters, the service is fast and the food is always amazing!<br/>I took a good friend here the other day for lunch for the February crayfish special,we didn't have a reservation and really wanted outside seating, our fantastic waiter Oscar got us a great table!<br/>The crayfish tails were juicy and of a good size,we also had the kale salad and the parmesan truffle fries.<br/>We will be back again soon for those delicious duck pancakes!<br/>Thanks Euro,my fave restaurant in town.

I'm sorry but two stars is all I'm giving but to say it was my first time dining there. I know it's a 4 or 5 star restaurant??? but come on with what I ordered and had to pay an extreme amount was not worth it. My partner and I both ordered an eye fillet, his rare mine medium rare plus sides were sold separately and a bit overpriced even for sauce too I mean come on like seriously ??!!! <br/><br/>Well had our drinks first, food came and was cold, bland, my partner's eye fillet was cooked rare how he wanted but mine was more well done. <br/><br/>I'd come for drinks to sit and chill out as it is a nice place to hang but food I don't think so .
Robin
I was lucky enough to be taken to this restaurant. It delivered everything we expected and so much more.<br/><br/>My husband had the duck and he loved that too.<br/>The service was exceptional and the waiter was professional and friendly all rolled into one. Waiter also recommended the type of wine we were after so he knew his stuff.<br/><br/>The desserts were a perfect finishing touch to the meal.

Our visit to Euro Restaurant was amazing! What a special place to celebrate our daughter's 21st. I have never had service like what we experienced! The Peking duck pancakes were divine - actually all the food was outstanding! Our waiter knew absolutely everything about everything. The cocktails were so delicious... Will definitely be back. Well done Euro! We left completely satisfied and very happy!

Great food &amp; service. The SG crab &amp; prawn entree was great - presentation awesome and taste fantastic. My partner had the Calamari prosciutto wrap which seemed an unusual combination but was delicious. The Venison and Scotch fillet steak special we had for mains were melt in the mouth and cooked to perfection along with a side of of truffle parmesan fries which just seemed to disappear in no time! Dessert...Warm chocolate pudding... molten orangey chocolate oozed from inside with home made dark chocolate and orange ice cream on the side. The waitress (Irish) had just the right amount of attentiveness and picked up on our quirky sense of humour stright away - left a tip for the first time in a long time ! Can't wait to go back.

Wedding anniversary called for a top dinner, so off to Euro for the first time. We were seated quickly, &amp; our fantastic waitress gave us plenty of time to decide on the menu. <br/>Peking duck for her with me having Calamari Prosciutto wrap. Both of us slack jawed with how good they were. Mains of Veal &amp; Lamb Rump. Hands down the best lamb I have ever had. (Sorry Mum). We only dine in this price bracket a couple of times a year so I expect bang for my buck. Nice 'Happy Anniversary' touch on the desert. The little things mean a lot. A good balance of being really classy without being pretentious. Loved the chairs - I could slouch - if I wanted to. Definitely returning. My new fave !

Was really looking forward to my first visit to Euro Restaurant. Found the whole experience real let down would not go back. Even though it was almost empty we were seated in a very uninteresting place, two of us with a blank wall to look at. Waiter very condescending. Food was very poor. Steak fatty and sinew . The chicken was undercooked, peanut slaw sloppy.
Anna McDonald
Been here three times and it seems to just get better and better each time. We had the same waiter twice who was absolutely incredible, extremely knowledgable, he didn't even have to write down our order (there was 5-7 of us at the table). The food is faultless. I had the chicken and slaw which was divine and for dessert the chocolate pudding. After my experience here I brought Simon Gault's cook book. Will definitely be going back. 11/10

Had lunch @ Euro on the weekend, Was an epic party in my pants. Food was amazing. Oysters to start, Duck for my main and chocolate pudding for dessert. All very tasty and presented. All our wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. No question asked was met with a "ill go check for you" what you usually get in restaurants. An amazing experience the only complaint I have (being very minor) is they were a bit slow on the drinks service, but that's being picky. 10/10
Brian Rose
Just home from a fantastic night at 'Euro'. We were looked after by Lorraine who was so friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional. The food was excellent and the ambience very nice.<br/>Would recommend 'Euro' and a thanks very a great night.
Paul Martin
Took our daughter &amp; her three children to Euro for her 40th birthday lunch.<br/>We felt appreciated from the moment we arrived till our coats were returned to us as we left.<br/>The children were treated nicely &amp; had the menu explained to them.<br/>Our daughter received a fun birthday"cake" with a lit candle gratis from the staff.<br/>The food was top class, the wait staff were professional without being over friendly, &amp; their food &amp; drink suggestions were spot on.<br/>A great experience without breaking the bank.
Ian Wilson
A mainstay of the Auckland scene. Didn't disappoint from any perspective. SG's Crab and Pawn was spot on. Following on with SG's recommendation I had SG's choice of steak for the main, that's where the star got deducted, can't remember exactly how old the steak was but it was insanely old (100 plus days). Unfortunately as it was sirloin and ordered blue it arrived with a raw fat strip. I would have expected the chef to sear the fat strip. In hindsight a cut like this is probably not suitable to serve blue - lesson learnt. But I'm dwelling to long on what was a blimp in an otherwise very enjoyable experience by the four of us.<br/><br/>If you're a foodie then you've already been or are planning to go at some point. Highly recommended.

Just got home from a wonderful night out celebrating a mates birthday. The staff were fantastic, our waiter, Benjamin was very professional, passionate and fun as well. <br/>The food was out of this world. It is a place we would consider to go again, for a special day!
David Erskine
Four of us recently had the pleasure of having lunch at Euro Restaurant. A pleasant setting, great food and atmosphere and efficient and helpful waiting staff. We certainly look forward to repeating the experience in the near future.
Janice Jamison
Beautiful place to eat in summer and always very accommodating - try to get a table outside looking on to the water. A great range of prices, from $20 pizzas to $120 steak. Mains were cooked to perfection and the dessert I ordered was one of the best I have ever had - ginger and sake creme brulee. Flawless service, even on very busy days.

Selected the Euro Restaurant and Bar to entertain a number of overseas and New Zealand guests. Duely got to the restaurant and placed our orders along with refreshments and that all went well. However when it came to the delivery process that is where for me it fell very short of the advert that says they are in the top 50 in the world. Entree was serviced, Buffalo mozzarella tomatoes / basil / EVO / Saporoso / Parma ham. But hell one of the main ingredient the Parma ham was missing, but didn't want to create a scene with my overseas guest just ate it. Then the mains came out over a 15 minute period and low and behold my fish dish was one of the last and you guested it, it was cold, but still didn't want to upset my guests who were half happy. At the end of the evening when paying the account I did mention it to the management and frankly they appeared not too worried and said I could have a beer on them ........ not really good enough for a restaurant that should be one of our best. I would not recommend it now nor go back. I'm sorry it happened because the night before we ate at another restaurant in the area and had a superb time and food.
Rosemary Young
Went to Euro for the first time couple of weeks ago. Had previously made a reservation. When we arrived, we were not served, it was not clear where we had to go in order to get the Matrie'd's attention. A lot of Waitress/Waitors pass us by and neither of them made the effort to ask if we needed help.<br/><br/>I would not have thought of a place like this restaurant to have this sort of service.<br/><br/>Once we sat down, we ordered some items which included some tempura oysters. The tempura batter was quite thick!... have had better elsewhere in Wellington :) definitely not what I was expected, as I was expecting better for this type of 'institution'.<br/><br/>Quite disappointed in the service and batter of the oysters.<br/><br/>Will I go again? hard to say....
Annette
We had a booking for 9 people and on arriving at 7pm the place was heaving with people extremely busy and noisy. After reading previous reviews I had my doubts about the evening ahead. However we were greeted and told our table was almost ready and true to their word we were seated quickly and what a table over looking the great harbour. <br/>However we came for the food. Although very busy the waitress was outstanding.<br/>There were 9 of us at the table we started with the Oysters three ways they were sublime.<br/>Each of us had a main and dessert and every person at the table said their meal was total mouth watering. The servings were large and everyone was total happy with what they had ordered.<br/>The service was friendly and efficient.<br/>Would definitely recommend the restaurant and go again very soon.
Jade :-)
we had the pleasure to dine at euro for the first time. what an absolute delight. food was divine!!! we loved the fact the food came out in a timely order despite being very busy. we were also impressed by the portion sizes, very generous, especially the chicken. our only slight issue was the bread board arrived at the same time our starter did but still went down a treat. we will be back :-)

Last night we went for the 10 course degustation meal at the chefs table. When we got there, we were very well looked after by our waitress Nicole. She asked if I would like to choose my own wine, or should she. I am a big wine/food fan, but thought I'd leave it in her hands, and told her so. She was fantastic, bringing wines that matched perfectly with the food. A choice that I initially thought a bit different was the pinot noir she recommended with the fish burgers. It was an inspired choice and (surprisingly perhaps) matched far better than one would have expected. She was top notch. Onto the food. Katie and Eugene were simply fantastic, and made superb meals with beautiful, clean flavours, and brilliant textual contrasts in some. The crab and paua dish was one of the nicest things I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Simply brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble, and even Sarah's pregnancy wasn't too much hassle, with separate meals being prepared for her. Whilst different than the other meals, they were nonetheless fantastic. Most of it was simple food cooked well - with a bit of "molecular gastronomy" thrown in every now and then. Buffalo yoghurt eggs anyone? It all had the wow factor, but I won't spoil the surprise too much by describing all the food - it was a real experience tasting it all. When Sarah booked it several months ago, it was as a bit of a birthday treat for me, but for one reason or another, we couldn't attend on my birthday, so postponed it. At the end of the meal, Eugene (ably demonstrating his piping skills) made up a little birthday platter for me. Aw shucks. He likewise made Sarah a 'congratulations' platter for her pregnancy. It's the little things like that that go a long way...

Very disappointed we had looked forward to a really lovely meal the waiter recommended a special aged rump steak ....I eat steak every time we go out but have never had my request for Med rare refused!! The chef said it would be cooked med ... then when it came at least 1/3 of the steak was fat &amp; grissle (unchewable) ...when the waiter asked if we were enjoying the meal we gave him the side plate full of fat &amp; grizzle to take to Simon &amp; he replied a good bit of rump then!!!! I am 50 &amp; have eaten steak all my life &amp; never have I had a worst steak in a restaurant ....the only saving grace was the desert which was a wow .... they didn't charge for the steak which was the least they could do... although I doubt if we shall return again &amp; we are huge master chef fans &amp; were looking forward to a wow meal.
Mark Williams
Considering the iconic stature of the restaurant and head chef, we were very disappointed. <br/>From Euro classics like squid overpowered with garlic or over cooked duck with barely enough sauce for the first few mouthfuls to the over inspired desserts...sometimes classic dessert should remain just that, not impressed. Service was good, but the restaurant is not the place to go for a romantic or relaxed meal...noisy with a side order of crowded. :(

Got a deal voucher for a 9 course degustation sitting at the chefs table. Had heard a lot about Euro some good, some not so good.<br/>From the moment we walked in the waiter looking after us really looked after us. Said he'd come get us when we were ready to start and found us a nice spot to people watch.<br/><br/>Chefs table was a wonderful experience - as the 2 chiefs took us through each course - telling us what was involved and the story behind the dish.<br/><br/>Would recommend Euro - a very enjoyable evening.

I went here for the voucher deal where I sat on the chef's table. The food was outstanding, the chefs were friendly and explained everything as they went along and the service was good. If any criticism were to be made then it would be that the waitress was almost too attentive. Myself and my partner had a great time here.

Had a light lunch with my friend on Monday- lovely sunny day, lovely table on the deck, beautiful food and wonderful service.<br/>We came in lateish for lunch- 3pm, but were made to feel very welcome. The food was lovely and arrived qucikly. The waiter was knowleable and attentive without being too 'in our face'. It was a great experience overall- would go back anytime!

My husband and I went for the 10 course degustation, and it was fantastic. This was a specially designed menu just for the Chef's Table of 8 people. Not only was everything cooked to perfection, but each dish was an interesting and often surprising combination of flavors that really worked. The other winner was the service and special attention given by our Chefs, Katy and Eugene, who made the evening fun and entertaining. Can't wait to go back.

The food and service were both very good. <br/>The scotch fillet was done just as was asked. wasn't very partial to the beetroot side but the puree was very nice. The cocktails were also great.<br/>The waiter may have been a little overly friendly but I guess its a matter of personal preference. Anyhow the service was great overall. <br/>Would absolutely go again.

Seriously you go to Euro with 30 other people they say they'll only take the booking with a set menu. They don't reduce the cost despite the size of the booking, the service was average (heavy dose of sarcasm) and then when desert turned up it was not as described on the menu (dark chocolate ice cream not white chocolate). When this was pointed out the head waiter makes out as if this is a surprise to him and checks the menu (I mean come on you're trying to tell me you don't know your own menu, funny how at the beginning of the evening you described every dish on it in detail), then goes to the kitchen and brings out a plate of ice cream and proceeds to put that on each plate. I mean seriously the dish was served incorrectly take them all back correct them bring them back and apologise!!! $100 a head you have got to be kidding, I am completely over crappy second rate service especially from what you would describe as a premium iconic Auckland restaurant.

We have eaten at Euro before and because it was a great experience we decided to return. While the food was not bad it was pretty average considering the prices. Service is a little arrogant! Will try it once more as any restaurant can have a bad night but wondering if the owners need to check the consistency. Our starters were good but the mains were not great and the desserts were disappointing.

We had an enjoyable evening at Euro on Saturday night. We expected a little more for this standard of dining. Why when there are 4 people at the table are 3 pieces of bread served? I was pleased we sat outside, (except for the wafting smoke) it was VERY noisy inside BUT in the dim lighting the white writing on RED menus is very hard to read. All meals were delicious and well presented. My risotto got too rich (salty and creamy) to finish. Entree size might have been more enjoyable. <br/>The service was friendly (a little rehearsed) and the meals arrived in good time. For the price, I would have expected a little more. Hence average rating - it was average.

We dined on the 11Th of August a small group of 4 best friends &amp; all we can say is outstanding from start to end, the food the service from Scott is amazing. Keep up the great work. Shame Scott is leaving but all the best to him. Fab restaurant. Mat &amp;Chris the kiwis. Stephen &amp; Anne the Irish kiwis. All from tauranga

We came because we love excellent food and had watched the NZ Master Chef shows.<br/>From ordering to receiving the first course it took 45 minutes. We ordered each a glass of red wine (as we had to drive). The two filled glasses were placed in front of us by a rather unfriendly lady who did not say a word. We would have expected in this kind of environment that two empty glasses were placed in front of us, one of us would be asked to try a little bit and than the glasses would be filled at the table.<br/>The first courses arrived: My wife's reaction was alarming: She found parts of crab or shrimp shell in her food plus crab meat which was too tough to be chewed, and she put it to the edge of her plate. My Kobe beef was cooked to perfection, soft and red. However, the crust was so salty that I contemplated to cut it off. But what is such a piece of meat without crust? Result: My stomach closed half way down. The main courses: Long Island duck for my wife: Good in taste but obviously warmed instead of freshly prepared: Fibrous and stringy, no breast meat. My fish of the day was broiled(?) in a very fatty environment, again rather salty. I could not finish it although it was not an enormous amount of food.<br/>To sum up: We will not come again as long as Simon is not cooking himself there. We saw it as a huge food factory with a rather hectic atmosphere throughout. We liked the decoration of the place though. Given the high prices and considering the reputation of the owner it was a big disappointment. Our head waiter tried very hard to compensate for our lost fun about which we did not inform him but which he clearly sensed from our behaviour.<br/>Wolfram and Joanne Just<br/>PS: We suggest that Simon spends much more time in his restaurant, checks the food which his cooks are offering and reduces the amount of tables/ guests to be served at the same time. Otherwise he will loose quickly his reputation and his business.

Great service was my first impression. Our waiter was informative, friendly and bubbly. He must have picked up we were on a work dinner and the boss was paying because he seemed to direct all questions to him regarding the wine list and starters at him. <br/>Drinks arrived quickly and cocktails delicious. <br/>I had the peking duck to start, tuna steak as my main and was arm twisted (he didn't have to twist to hard) into having into the chocolate pudding. I think my tuna was a tiny bit over cooked however I did not complain. <br/>One of our party was a little disappointed at the size of his lamb off the bone special. It was fairly small. Other than that everyone was happy.

Ever since I've arrived in New Zealand, I was suggested to try New Zealand's own Bluff oysters. As a seafood and especially oyster lover, I HAD to find them.<br/>A friend recommended Euro Bar and Restaurant owned by Simon Gault who is in Masterchef New Zealand... read more on my blog with complete pictures: http://chicabel.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/euro-bar-restaurant.html

Previously reviewed &amp; the review was scathing. Suffice to say I did go back. What an vast improvement. Our wait staff, knowledgeable, attentive, an absolute delight &amp; all done with a ready smile. Periodically came back to the table to see if there was anything we required. Meals well presented &amp; cooked to perfection. Peanut coleslaw with the chicken was to die for.
Amy Groat
Euro never disappoints with great food and great service although the last two times Ive been there they forgot to bring our bread etc before our mains which was a tad disappointing. but the peanut sauce coleslaw that comes with the chicken is amazing!!

Euro is fabulous. I loved the friendly staff, the decor, the variety of spaces you could dine in; but the absolute standouts were the food and the structure of the menu. Structure first, Euro serves an evening menu all day. You can select anything from the menu any time. I enjoyed a three course meal from 2.30 in the afternoon and was left to take my time relaxing into the evening, matching a wine to each course. Surprisingly reasonably priced, the food was stunning. Obvious care is taken with the presentation, imagination and crafting of each dish. The menu is adventurous with delightful surprises. I was 100% satisfied with my Euro experience and look forward to a repeat.

Sat 9/6/12 our first experience at the Euro to celebrate my wife's birthday.<br/>The service throughout the night was excellent and the staff were extremely knowledgeable about the menu and wine. <br/>Simon Gault was cooking in the chefs kitchen and this really added to the overall experience; Simon took time to come and speak with us which was really appreciated. <br/>The food was good starters consisted of SG's crab and prawn and Chilean red king crab leg. The SG crab was a clever combination of jalapeรฑo crรจme fraiche sauce / tobiko / tuna wafers, it was rich and creamy. The crab legs were succulent and sweet and were accompanied with three butter sauces. However I thought the sauces were quite bland and despite looking different tasted similar.<br/>Simon sent us an amuse bouche as an extra and the flavour was delicious just the right temperature and perfectly seasoned.<br/>Mains were lamb rump and market fish. The lamb rump was cooked perfectly and very tender accompanied with caramelized cauliflower purรฉe / raisin &amp; almond caper salad . The market fish was delicious with a herb crust, again succulent and perfectly cooked. Two puddings to finish a Mandarin tea sorbet and an apple terrine. Both presented amazingly and very delicious.<br/>It was quite an expensive evening but I believe the overall experience was worth the price. Its not somewhere we would eat regularly but will return on our next visit to Auckland.

Firstly, wow - amazing, amazing steak - this was the bottom-level steak, but man - i can still taste it. had it with truffle sauce, and the beetroot and endives were the perfect complement. the side of fries came in a cute little deep fry basket, presentation overall was superb. <br/>only down-side was that the service was quite all over the place - very well-meaning, but over the top and just ended up almost abrasive, waay too long between wanting to order and having multiple visits from various verbose servers. surly maitre-d.<br/>but anyway i was there to eat and man the food was sooo beautiful.<br/><br/>--PS. After reading this the general manager got in touch with me straight away apologising re my comments on service. I really appreciated that. Overall my experience at Euro was a very good one, and that reaction to my review made me feel even more confident that this is a great place to dine. (what a great service menumania provides to allow restaurants and their customers to interact like that)

My partner and I went to Euro for his birthday, not often we get to treat ourselves to Masterchef quality restaurant but it was great!! Our main waiter was very friendly and made sure we were looked after the whole time. Meals came out very quick which was great.<br/><br/>I had the rotisserie chicken which I would go back for just for that! chicken was so tender and even the mash was so flavoursome!! My partner had a lamb rump and he left one piece for last cause he didn't want to eat it, it was so good and tender. not often you get lamb or beef cooked correctly.<br/><br/>I would highly recommend.

Went to Euro Restaurant and Bar last Friday night.<br/>Lovely ambiance and setting.<br/>Meal very average<br/>Very disappointed <br/>One diner didn't have to pay for her meal as wasn't up to standard<br/>Head waiter too friendly and talked way too much
David Boshier
We had not been to Euro for years, until last week when I was invited for a long lazy Friday lunch. One thing I like is sitting by the sea for lunch and while the view is not fantastic it has all the right sounds and smells.<br/><br/>From the oysters and pound of prawns as starters through to the rotisserie chicken for main, all was excellent. For something different try the Mojito - rum baba for desert.<br/><br/>We will be heading back soon.<br/><br/>PS: the pricing is good value for the area.
Shelley Robb
We met a friend at Euro over the weekend. He recommended it to us saying that the restaurant had put its prices up over the world cup time so the locals stopped going but they were working hard on getting the business back again so we should try it. We did and we enjoyed the experience. I paid and it was not until we got home I found they had charged us for items we didn't order or get. I think they would say it was an honest mistake but the mistakes were strange. 2 of the same meal, and 5 meals when only 3 people sat at the table???Highly dodgy. I wonder how many other people have had to question their bills lately?? If you go there, make sure you check the account before paying!!!!!
Hamish Cochrane
The selection of food was great and the food itself was divine. Wine selection wonderful and service was impeccable.
Andy Parker
Bland and tasteless. I'd expected more.<br/><br/>Nice atmosphere and service to match the location, but the food was underseasoned, and I'm sure that my dessert had pepper on the violet meringue.<br/><br/>Sorry, I won't be returning, Auckland has many more options to choose from.
Jennifer Kelly
My third visit to Euro and there wont be a fourth. The first time was very mediocre but everyone has their off days so decided would give it another try. This time, taking advantage of the bluff oyster special, I had no problems at all the service was attentive but not overly done and the food was good. The most recent visit, however was not a good experience. The waiter was rude, to the extent he actually came and apologised for his "rudeness". The food was served in rapid succession before we had finished the previous course and then he was clearing the table before we had finished. We then had to ask the waiter to leave the wine as every time he passed our table he proceeded to pour , whether he was trying to over compensate for his abrupt manner. Sunday lunch should be a relaxing experience, felt like we were in a fast food restaurant and so we left without even ordering or considering a desert. We are an older couple so places like Euro are a treat, er.... no thanks. Never again.
Nathan Meyers
Very good food, but also very expensive. We were encouraged to order fast before things heated up in the kitchen, which I did not think was a good technique. In addition, some of the additions to the mains needed a little work, but overall a fun experience.
Dave Son
great place, soo consistant with service and food. this is a place i enjoying going on afternoons and just eating there platters and drinking beer in there great location. so much on offer here cant say a bad word
Diana R
We had a great dinner pre Christmas. As always the food and the service were superb. Euro is consistent which is invaluable.

So abit about me and my partner, we are both in our 20s and we decided to go to here for our anniversary. We went to the Skycity 360o conservation restaurant on valentines and it set us back $200 but it was great.<br/><br/>Euro however, it was very noisy I found it, it was hard to talk in between and the tables were close to each other.<br/>The food was OK, not to forget my partner had food poisoning that night ( not knowing the cause ) We had bread ( was ok, just like my bakery bread from countdown ) and had a S&amp;G prawn for my partner as starters which was OK. And I had the calamari wrap which was just OK too. I thought skycity wowed us way more. However we did look forward to our mains. My partner got a eye fillet, was very small ( i know its a delicate but come on, for the same price, skycity was better!) it was wonderfully cooked though. I had the john dory fish of the day, it was good. too salty for me and the risotto was too chessy(sauce poured over) and was just overwhelming having two very salty. Wasnt impressed. Had a salad side and potatos, potatos were nicely cooked.<br/><br/>Overall everything was just OK. Skycity wowed me with their food and expertises and it was a nice quiet view along with a nice quiet dining experience which both me and my partner preferred. <br/>Altogether it set us back $197. We gave $200 and she just took $3 as tip( not asking btw which was rude )<br/>At skycity we got a full package for valentines ( even though we only had a choice from around 3-4 entrees and mains ) and we had an dessert at skycity too because it was part of the package, i got a rose and to look out at the conservation level while waiting for our tables for free. Parking was also discounted while it cost us about $13 on the viaduct.<br/><br/>So overall I would not return. Too busy, but food was good.

From the moment I approached the Maitre die to book a table for two on a very busy Friday evening, through to my glass of Laphroaig single malt whisky, my wife and I, celebrating our 39th wedding anniversary enjoyed a wonderful dinning experience.<br/>The food was beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. Our waiter Michael was attentive and very knowledgeable and helped us choose the perfect meal. To cap it off, Simon Gault came to our table and chatted briefly. We could not have asked for a better evening.<br/>Many thanks, Brian and Pam

Amazing service from the gentleman that waited on my party at Euro. it was a bust Saturday night, but he made every effort to make sure we were well looked after. The food was AMAZING.<br/><br/>The only small issue we had was our side dishes never arrived, however we were not charged for them and were offered a discount.<br/><br/>Euro definitely sets the standard for service for Auckland restaurants.
Celeste Bowden
Had a lovely mid week work lunch here last month. <br/><br/>I had the most amazing soup I've ever had in my life - cauliflower and truffle oil.<br/><br/>Colleagues had the oysters, which were beautifully presented, and fish.<br/><br/>We even had a side of the vegetables of the day - who would have thought brussels sprouts could taste so scrumptious.<br/><br/>Great service, tasty meal. We'll be back.
Hugh Lloyd
A1<br/><br/>Excellent staff, attentive but not overbearing - let you have a good time.<br/><br/>Great good and importantly a great atmosphere, just make sure you don't get put down the back - when you book request the front or outside.
Lovetoeat
The food was good, well presented and on time. Taste was lovely but I don't see what the fuss is all about and why does it cost so much...I mean you can get similar dining expereince with similar tasting/presented food for less expensive costs.<br/>And our waitress was over the top! We had an international business associate with us and I cringed a few times whenever the waitress started getting overly passionate about the food...gosh talk about being in love with food !
Maggie Armstrong
OK location, nice food - BUT, $16 - $18 for a glass of wine?? At that price you would expect to be able to drink your wine with your meal, but unfortunately it took 3 hours to deliver 1 entree and 2 mains (for 2 people). Waiter apologised for the delay, saying that the chef had overcooked the fish and had to redo it. But, a complimentary glass of wine would have been the thing to do. Food very overpriced. No wonder tourists think NZ is expensive. I wonder if Mr Gault might be dining out on his name a bit! $9.50 for a plate of mashed potato with a smidgen of truffle oil, totally over the top. Keep your prices realistic Euro - you have a more discerning public nowadays! Will be trying other restaurants before returning to Euro.
Ryan Ashton
The first your notice with any restaurant (after the building) is the service and that is hugely important on my list - I don't eat food from shacks first of all - and for all the great restaurants of Auckland, Euro has by far the best service from a professional staff who recognise that you are the customer and look after you in a manner befitting the establishment and the restaurant brand.<br/><br/>The food has always been delectable and I have tried 30% of the menu, but nothing beats their service, especially Nicole.<br/><br/>I haven't been since the relaunch and will have to get back down to sample the menu and enjoy the service.
Rebekah Green
What can I say? My husband and I have been to Euro several times in the past year or so and every time have loved it.<br/>Even with the changes to the menu (has become more steak-house style) we still love it.<br/>We end up getting the same things every time though - have only tried some of the other menu options on one visit.<br/>We love the fresh oysters, breads and dips, jalepenjo crab and prawn dish, I LOVE the duck - hubby usually gets the steak.<br/>I did find the signature chicken dish a bit dry but the slaw was great.<br/>The service is impecible - the staff recognise us and remember what we order - they also know where we prefer to sit.<br/>The wait staff we have had have all had a great knowledge of the wine list and have been able to recommend us some stunning pinot noir.<br/>We will be back soon to enjoy again!

Had lunch yesterday and was extremely disappointed with my meal - had the Simon Gault rotis chicken and it was so dry had to ask for gravy in order to make it edible. Also was quite amazed that nobody asked if we wanted dessert. Won't be in a hurry to go back
Giapo Grazioli
It is really a great restaurant with great food and a great wine lists. i regard it as one of the best! Go and check it out!
Bida M
Simply amazing, best food, best wine, great environment, great service, how more happy can i be? I would definitely go back there again for the most delicious food, i got to say it is my number 1 restaurant in Auckland and the price paid is well worth it.

Lunch on Sunday 28th September 2010, what incredible service. Our waiter was AMAZING he really loves his career and it shows! 5 hungry girls all had incredible meals, beautifully presented and executed. I don't know how we fitted in dessert but I am so glad we did, the trio of ice cream was outstanding. Thanks Euro, still stunning after all these years!

I went for dinner last Tuesday (7/09/10)<br/>the food was OK,but the presentation was the same as the pub near my house,so for a restaurant who pretend to be a fine dinning destination i was really disappointed specially when i saw the bill arrive!!<br/>I think when you charge more than $30 for a main the customers deserve a minimum of presentation on the plate!<br/>i am not ready to go there again until i heard they change their policy.<br/>I think it's a canteen for rich people.<br/>When i go out for dinner in a fine dinning restaurant i expect a lot more than they give to me last Tuesday.<br/>Simon Gault need to work hard on this place.<br/>It's pub food sold for a fortune!!
Kate Bower
I've dined here about 5 times in the last 6 months - twice for the Sunday degustation lunch. Every time was fantastic food, excellent service, very friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff (especially in recommending wines). Serving sizes are generous and even though its pricey, you come away feeling it was worth every dollar. Easily as good as some of Sydney's upmarket waterfront restaurants. Highly recommended.

Euro has been one of my favourite restaurants for years I have always put it on the level with Cibo. However having waited for it to re open we were disappointed. Mind you ix was mixed my meal for average my two guests gave their starters 10 but the mains poor steaks and and disappointing chicken 4 to 5. <br/>The service was mixed my friend didn't want potato but the request was ignored.<br/>We will try again for old time sake hoping it was just one of those nights
Lane Manson
Excellent!! what more can I say, fabulous food, location and staff, wine list is impeccable too, great stuff.

I went here for a 21st birthday party and have been searching for an excuse to come again. The food ,the atmosphere, the staff, all perfect

On Wednesday night my husband and I (sounds very royal!!) celebrated our wedding anniversary at Euro. We hadn't been before but had read very good reviews. We were not disappointed. From the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed and the evening proceeded into an exceptional night. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive in a nice laid back manner. It took quite awhile to choose from the fabulous menu, but finally I choose the crab ravioli as an entree and the Cajun scallops with the most divine creamy and beautifully flavoured risotto I have every eaten( even better than in Italy)My husband savoured his scallop salad and Duck and the mouthfuls he shared with me where yummy. To top this fabulous evening off , our shared trio of Simon's ice cream arrived on a large plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. How nice is that?.I will leave it up to you to decide if you want to experience a delight you wont forget.

I am a Kiwi living in the States, but back in my home town visiting family for Xmas, and decided to return to one of my old haunts. This place is still one of the best restaurants i have been too anywhere in the world. The service was amazing, and our waitress knew the menu and wine list intimately, and the 3 course i had were superbly balanced leaving me not feeling "stuffed" or too full. I highly recommend the Duck. NZ native duck is not as gamey as other Ducks, and it really is one of their signature dishes....AMAZING!
Peter Ord
My wife, Ann, and I spent the first evening of our ruby wedding celebration holiday at Euro. It was one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere in the world and compares superbly well with many of the famous name and outlandishly expensive restaurants in the UK. After touring round NZ we returned to Auckland before flying back to the UK and decided, which can sometimes be a fatal error, to return to Euro. We were not disappointed and if anything the food was even better. If you are in Auckland this restaurant is not to be missed; the food in great, the staff are friendly and attentive and whats more know their business and their menu. If like me you know little about NZ wine trust them because they do. When we return to NZ it will be our first port of call.

I was really happy to see that Euro caters to vegetarians, with a whole separate menu for them, not just one or two dishes. <br/>I got a bit worried when nothing on that menu was vegan though. But after my partner finished speaking french to the waiter, he informed me that the chef has always been happy to adapt any meal to suit dietary needs. That was great to hear, it shows freshens and that Euro values the people that dine with them. <br/><br/>I went with a lemon risotto and my partner had a lamb stew (the best he had ever had apparently.) The atmosphere in Euro is nice, very clean but also quite homely. I, however, found my food to be very average. I know I am capable of cooking a risotto of far better quality myself, but my partner did really enjoy his food. <br/><br/>I guess, even if a place is willing to help you out, they don't necessarily know what they're doing. I was happy to try Euro out, but I won't be going again.

After alot of recommendations, I came here to try it out myself. The service was friendly and we were greeted upon arrival. The interior was well done and we had a good view towards the Maritime Museum. However I felt that the food offered was quite un-interesting, nothing that really surprised me. But then again maybe I should have booked for the degustation instead of the ala carte menu.
Maye Elle
Service was not the best when I went but given it was busy I do still think it could have been better. <br/>I got the $49 special running at the time. Without the champagne it came to only $39. <br/>The toilet was really pretty -just thought I'd add it. It reminds me of a changing room at a designer store. Very interesting haha. <br/><br/>I definitely will want to go again for different food. I loved seeing the chefs so openly and they were extremely lovely (:<br/><br/>More pictures and details here: http://septemberandmay.blogspot.co.nz/2014/06/aprilmay-favourites.html

I had high expectations of Euro when I visited there for my birthday dinner and was sadly very underwhelmed. I thought that the atmosphere was more "pub" than "fine dining", with obnoxiously loud patrons and staff that were overly friendly. <br/><br/>My partner ordered a fish dish that arrived very overcooked and my steak was more "well done" than "medium rare". The ability to cook fish and steak are two very basic technical cooking skills, and I was extremely disappointed to find that Euro was lacking in this department. Some of the dishes were absolutely amazing however, with the truffle mashed potato being the absolute star of the meal - I would go back just for that, and hope that the rest of the meal is up to the same standard.

In the last few years, at the start and end of the Bluff oyster season, Euro have had fantastic lunch deals. We went along and took advantage of it - a dozen Bluff oysters in the half shell for $19. That's cheaper than buying them from a pottle at the supermarket! On a sunny day, there's nothing better than watching the boats on the wharf, enjoying a cool drink and squirting lemon and white balsamic vinegar on fresh, sweet Bluff oysters. We also had a side of onion rings, which were pricey (for onions!) but really crispy and tasty. The service was really attentive and we left happy and satisfied. Keep an eye out for these lunch deals if you love oysters! But of course, realise that in the end you will be paying quite a bit more for any sides or drinks.
Jay
Atmosphere is just average to be one of top restaurants in Auckland. I would give them 3 out 5 for atmosphere If they didn't have a kitchen that is open to the customers to see busy chefs cooking delicious food. Their tuna steak is truly amazing. The sauce with the steak is just wonderful.
Brunchalicious
First impression was pretentious clientele and staff, but if you can get past that you notice that the staff is actually very efficient, friendly and helpful ..., the food although pricey, is to die for... Innovative, well presented and some of the best food in Auckland. If budget allowed, I would be a regular visitor!

My Euro story: when I was there on a business dinner, the 2 of us ordered the steak. It was so damn good, we ordered a third steak to split between us instead of dessert. I'm not kidding.<br/><br/>Euro is Simon Gault's flagship restaurant in the Viaduct. It is huge. The service is impeccable. There is something on the menu to suit everyone's tastes, and if not, they'll probably custom-make something for you. But you will pay for it; this place ain't cheap. Save it up for a special occasion & you won't mind dropping a few dollars; it will be money well spent.<br/><br/>Because it is so big, and so trendy, and so reliably, consistently good, you will probably find a few business people, a few celebrities and a few show-offs dining at Euro. That is all part of the experience. But if you want a specific table or area to sit in, it's worth asking when you book, or you may be relegated to the cheap seats.<br/><br/>Save up for this one - it's worth a visit.
Kate W
For a special evening, head to Euro. the service is phenomenal...the best I've had in Auckland. Efficient without being presumptious, friendly without being too friendly. The food is very very good and if you ever get the chance to experience the Chef's Table, DO IT - incredible experimentations with flavours and textures which has given me nights I'll never forget. Better than going to the theatre or a gig - this is entertainment in itself. Always busy and rightly so.
