If you ask me where is the most delicious restaurant in New Zealand, I would say here. Noodles soba was really delicious. and I loved the large amount of potato chips in the hamburger, and the coffee was excellent, too.

Somehow my previous review was headed Subway in error. Subway is next door but I have not been there. Cafe Hibiscus is my preferred cafe each Wednesday morning. Mary is the delightful greeter as you walk in the door. A coffee and oh so tasty muffin are on my table in no time along with the morning paper ! Who could ask for anything more ? One Photo is of the wallpaper on one wall .. you could almost walk into it ! As Arnold the Terminator would assert .. “l’ll be back ! “ . NB Mary’s birthday on Aug 3. 🌹

My daughter and I just had breakfast here. Really fast and friendly service. Coffee was an 8/10, hot chocolate 9/10. I had the Big Breakfast - perfect eggs, lovely sourdough bread, hash browns, mushroom, and bacon. My daughter had bacon and eggs. Breakfast was superb. Plenty of parking, great atmosphere plus a kids area for young kids. Will now be one of my GoTo places for brekkie on the Coast

It’s a nice cafe with good service. I ordered salmon bagel. The dish came out pretty quickly and I was happy with it. My colleagues were happy with their meal as well. We haven’t had their coffee thou. There weren’t anything I felt special about the place but at the same time, it’s a good fast serving cafe.

This is probably one of my favourite cafés I’ve been to. We came here for my sisters birthday for a nice family breakfast.
Interior: The cafe interior is very spacious with a nice comfy design. You won’t feel like you’re cramped in a tiny room.
Service: The staff are very friendly and hospitable. One of the staff members (presumably the manager or owner) came over to have a nice chat with our family and to check up if the food they provided was good. We really felt like we were well looked after.
The Food: I had the classic eggs benedict with a cappuccino with a shot of hazelnut syrup. The food was great, and I even appreciated the fancy design on the plate. Pricing of the food is relatively fair compared to other café’s.
After we all finished our meals, one the staff came to our table and shouted her a free cake which was very generous. Overall our experience at Cafe Hibiscus was very satisfying and I highly recommend checking this place out, if you are looking for a nice friendly-neighbourhood breakfast. We will definitely be back again.

Amazing service. Ordered via Uber eats, the cafe called me to tell me my order was ready but no one was picking it up. I went to the cafe to pick it up myself and they had made a whole new order for me as my original one had gone cold. How awesome is that? I’m writing this review as I eat my lunch and oh my god it is the biggest and tastiest burger I’ve had in a long long time. I had no idea this cafe was even here and I’m a local. I can tell you, I will be back again and again and again. Thank you!

Hibiscus was started a couple of years ago by a group of lovely young Koreans; they've since gone from strength to strength. The service is excellent, the food and coffee are as good as anywhere else in the area.<br/><br/>Most notably, the staff are friendly and welcoming, greeting me by name and with genuine smiles on every visit.<br/><br/>Can get a bit crowded, but that's the price of popularity.

The food portions are very small for the price for the cooked food. $20 for smaller than normal portion of eggs Benedict. When ordering the waitress said they could do my bread not toasted, and for a friend the sauce on the side, however my bread was very burnt (some parts were black) and sauce was all over the eggs benedict for the friend. Also took 1/2 hour to prepare a few eggs. Also they didn't have any avocados, so that's the best stuff on the menu gone. Hot chocolate and Mocha's also use cheap coffee powder, doesn't taste like real chocolate.<br/><br/>Get a star for good cappuccino's.

Always a great morning or brunch spot! Foods super yum! The smashed avocado is my go to.. the iced chocolates are loaded with whipped cream, marshmallows and an Oreo. Such a cute touch. Staff are friendly, occasionally takes a while to place your order because of how busy it can get 😊

We love this café! It’s always busy and bustling, but the service is always on point, the food is amazing and there’s a small corner for the little ones to keep busy. It can get quite noisy in there, which makes hearing conversations a bit difficult for some, but an awesome place to meet with family and friends.

Finally came here, three adults one child<br/>Got good seats, nice big table. .waiter came promptly gave out menus .<br/>Orders. .big breakfast, mushroom potato hash, kids nuggets and chips, eggs Benedict.<br/>Didn't have drink we ordered so had to change that<br/>Food came relatively quick<br/>But wasn't good..toast was thick and hard crusty, my eggs were abit raw, sausage was gross , guacamole was weird..there was alota things wrong with all the dishes..all abit not nice<br/>Expensive aswell. .the whole were on the coast so we can charge more nonsense.<br/>Venue was clean however and service was friendly<br/>Just the food to me was lacking ..may go back and try something else, see if it was just what we ordered.

Not what you would expect.. Amazing food, free range meats, large portions, they really do not skip on anything here. All the ingredients are of really high quality and there is a great range of different foods. The design of the cafe would have you thinking that it's not as good as what it really is. Only cafe in Whangaparaoa that I have come across so far that is worth the trip.

I feel cautious writing this review as this cafe is a hidden gem and I'd love to keep it that way :p But you all really deserve to know. <br/><br/>Excellent food, and excellent service. Some of the best eggs we've had. We've visited multiple times and their plates are big - reasonably priced, and delicious! <br/><br/>I also like how they allow substitutions if you can't eat something - and provide you with options too, like different types of sausages (not just pork), etc.<br/><br/>Their burgers are also delicious and some of the best thin crispy fries I've tried.<br/><br/>They use Allpress coffee too!

Doesn't look like much but the menu is massive with a lot of different options, particularly for breakfast. The coffee is great too and very quick service despite how busy this place is. If you want to go for breakfast I'd suggest booking. It's always busy!

First time visitor to Cafe Hibiscus for breakfast. Food was good, coffee was good, however, having trades people drilling, hammering, sawing on a busy Saturday morning was annoying to say the least. Not really relaxing at all. Then my wife was even more infuriated, as a "nail" from said tradesperson hits her in the back of the head. She complained to the staff who were apologetic but seemingly installing new wifi was far more important. We left disappointed. <br/>

Been here twice! The first time for my mothers birthday, was great service! They wrote Thankyou in sauce next to our paninis ! My hot chocolate was nicely decorated and the staff are so friendly! Delicious almond croissant, even heated it up for us! Was so happy that had to bring my boyfriend there the next week! I had the wedges and he had the calamari, he was so surprised with how well it was cooked! My wedges were a generous serving and good price! Even bumped into my parents there as they loved it so much they came back too! Highly recommend, always busy! :)

Really lovely cafe with free range bacon and eggs, fab counter food and a very nice menu. Very well priced too, pretty much all of the menu meals are under $20 and gourmet sandwiches are cheaper than the usual and really yum. They even have club sandwiches to cater for your mum! Excellent Allpress espresso. Good vibe in the cafe which is well attended by locals. Nice jazz playing in the stereo. We'll be back.

Referred here by numerous people after moving to the Coast. Warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in the door, a sign of great service that was to carry on our whole brunch. <br/><br/>We had Eggs Benedict and Bacon & Eggs (which was actually like a mini big breakfast), food was tasty, hollandaise yummy. <br/><br/>A little pricy, but worth it for the great service and tasty food. Will definitely be back.

Despite living nearby, I had never tried this cafe before because the location is very unattractive. After reading some rave reviews decided that I had to try it.<br/><br/>We had the bacon and egg breakfast, poached eggs and a kids pancakes, all with hot drinks. The food and drinks were served quickly and well presented. The service was good, except they did hear our order wrong because it was very noisy.<br/><br/>Overall food and service were Good, with reasonable prices but The location and acoustics let them down.

This cafe is a nice addition to the hibiscus coast community. I think their service is something they can really hang their hat on. It is always very fast, they recognise you from past visits and up sell which is a nice touch. Food is consistently good with a great variety. Their cabinet food is also very good. Coffee is good not amazing but solid and consistent.

Probably the best cafe in Auckland. Rubbish location sadly but the food and coffee more than make up for it. I have been a number of times and haven't had anything from the menu or cabinet that I haven't been very happy with. Also, if you like pies, this cafe make and sell the best pies in Auckland!!!

Sandwiched between Repco, a Thai massage joint and a money lender, Cafe hibiscus is not positioned ideally to take in the best views of whangaparaoa but remains possibly the "best" cafe in the area - that is not saying a lot however. Ambience is oddly eclectic in questionable taste but It's spacious, the counter food looks good in a bog standard way, as does the menu, it's clean and the service was superlative. The coffee is ok, the tea very good.

The friendly people from Gusto opened this some months ago and it's now twice the size and more. It is a new modern looking cafe with more parking outside, a fire on wintry days, is a meeting place for Mum's and babes and anyone just popping in. The menu is more extensive and every bit as good as it was - delicious well presented food and great coffee. Personally I rather miss the cosy informal layout and ambience of Gusto with its big wooden (communal) table and the little outside area but am thrilled their friendliness and hard work enabled them to expand and reopen in a new larger local cafe much needed in the area. It can be a bit noisy as mainly enclosed but that won't stop me meeting friends or a quick pop in on my way from A to B. Well done!

Visited mid afternoon on Saturday and shared the BLT with our teenage daughter and Mr had the potato hash stack both very good. Vanilla coffee and smoothies brilliant. Great quick service with heaps of attentive staff. Nice to see a place with a kitchen open a little later in the day. Will return to sample more. Well worth the trip in the rain and cold.

Glad we discovered this cafe. They have a kids play area, the staff are friendly, the food is great. It's nice to see quite a few gluten free and vegetarian options on the menu along with free range eggs and super foods like goji berries and spirulina. We'll be going back!

This is my coffee local so I already knew that the Allpress coffee was great but this morning I took my kids in for brunch. I had the creamy mushrooms- divine. My son had the pancakes which he devoured and my daughter had a cheese scone. A favourite for anyone on or visiting the Hibiscus Coast. My only wish is that they were open 7 days a week not 6.

Went here for brunch today!. Yummy food and yummy iced chocolates. Had eggs bene with bacon and partner had the big breakfast. Both satisfied with the size and taste. Pity it couldn't be in a location with more outside seating!

FIRST IMPRESSION: Just another cafe that makes average coffee.<br/>SECOND IMPRESSION: Friendly welcomes from ALL of the staff. Spacious layout with a tastefully eclectic style. Comfy couches and soft lighting made the place. <br/>SEATING: Just got coffee to take away but there was a lot of people there and they still had spare tables.<br/>ORDERING: Barely stood in line, really friendly service and coffee was ready in only 4m 18s.<br/>COFFEE: Finally.. a flat white that's not a latte. One of my favourite bean suppliers too (Allpress). A coffee with real depth, intensity and great temperature. This guy knows what he's doing..I don't care what their food is like. <br/>FOOD: Not ordered.<br/>PAYMENT: No problems here<br/><br/>OVERALL: Probably the highest rating I'll ever give to a place that I didn't buy food from.. that's how good that coffee was. These guys used to run Gusto down the road when it was a hit (has since died after their leaving)
