Review Non Solo Pizza - Auckland Central

peanuts
i had a really good experience at non solo pizza for dinner on tuesday night. The only down side was that even thought we had a booking at 8pm, the table wasn’t set up and the heaters were not working, but this was resolved by offering blankets. the service was alright which was understandable as it was super busy, one waiter (european guy with moustache) was very attentive and very kind and made the service a lot better. The food was delicious and came out super quick. I would definitely come back for the the food + venue. The high lights of the food was definitely the ravioli, prosciutto pizza, truffle fries and scampi pasta. The drinks were delicious too.

Pizza and pasta done in a high brow setting that surpassed expectations. Truffle fries and tiramisu were a highlight! Zuchinni pizza was a little subtle in flavour for my taste but my husband loved it. Highly reccomend for a date night or long lunch with friends.

The great vibe of alfresco dining is truly reminiscent of an experience in Rome. The food was great. The speed was okay!

Had a great experience. Started with two glasses of cloudy bay champagne. Then had tomato salad, a bit different as they use cinnamon on the salad. Had never had that before and believe we probably would have enjoyed it more traditional but we ate it. The pizza was delicious and flavors were great basil was very fresh. Staff was friendly and did a good job

The vibe is winning. “Fast service” when i told the waiter that I have just finished work and extra hungry. Hands up 💯

Attended on a semi-formal work event. Great service received. Alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks well portioned, thank you for keeping the water refilled as well. Service was according and timely. Tapas/selection of various foods were delivered to the table timely and professionally and were presented very well. Tasty, delightful and filling. Highly commend the chef/s. Overall, a very good experience and highly trained staff with an ear for service which was well received. Thank you to the team for the professional and highly commendable service. Looking forward to my next visit.

Authentic Italian food. Our waiter was very attentive, despite looking after multiple other large groups. There was no space inside so we sat outside and were quite cold despite kindly being given blankets, so recommended bringing plenty of warm layers. Had the gnocchi which was lovely although a lot, lot smaller than some of the other pasta dishes.
Marco
I ate a lot, pizza was really light. Atmosphere amazing! Highly recommend!

Welcome to a little bit of Italy in the heart of Parnell. The bar the front is just the beginning, and as you walk into the courtyard, you’ll meet with a really inviting friendly and delicious restaurant and bar. It’s a great place for a special occasion or a company get together.

I absolutely love this place !! Proscutto pizza was really good. second one i ordered buratta cheese that was amazing flavour, so soft with the pea sauce, the texture mnmm 🤤 also my cocktail was nice look how beautiful ! The ingredients are trusty and fresh. If you are looking for a good Italian restaurant I definitely recommend this place, also good for date !! oh I for got to say there interior design i love them greens white just so perfect makes me feel comfortable! I really enjoyed that

We ordered truffle fries and margherita pizza. We really loved both menus. Margherita pizza is such a simple pizza, but the one from this place was full of flavors. Truffle fries were the best fries I had ever tried. This place is so popular that you need to book a table. Luckily we could get a table near the entrance without reservation.

Authentic and absolutely delicious. The staff were VERY accommodating for dietary requirements- vegan pizza was amazing. The olives were top tier and the heirloom tomato salad (mozzarella on the side) was especially delicious and unique- as a vegan it’s not very often that a dish at a Omni restaurant is so breathtaking and different. I can’t wait to be back. The courtyard we sat in was perfect. Loads of parking on the street or a paid car park across the road.

Beautiful meal tonight and fantastic service! Enjoyed a range of dishes shared, I don't think I could pick a favourite! Loved that I could taste the wines when I couldn't decide which to have with my meal and the waitress was very knowledgeable about them - topped the experience for me!

Incredible pizzas and truffle fries. I don’t think you can go wrong with this place. If you’re looking for outdoor dining, they have a lovely courtyard.

Always such a great experience coming to NSP. Attentive staff, yummy food and nice wine. We loved the bluff oysters, snapper/salmon/tuna crudo, calamari and cocktails.
Sue Rewiti
Continues to be a great venue however food dropping a bit. Calamari dried up over battered rings and gluten free pizza so bad that it shouldn't be offered on the menu. Staff could have upsold on more items.

Second time here. Always packed with great looking people. Great Italian food. Pizza is authentic. Coffee is good. Everything is fresh. Nice ambiance as well.If you like the services there is a chance to give tip when paying bills, which is more common in the U.S. than in Auckland.

Outdoor courtyard is lovely after the renovation. Ricotta honey bread is a delicious combo with the bread, just wish there was more bread to finish up the ricotta. But definitely recommend trying it! Oysters were fresh. The scampi linguine could have been a bit more flavourful. Truffle fries were slightly crispy, very nice. Had a funny mix up with the waitress who took my order, there are two menu items called the same name “porchetta” and unfortunately she thought it was the main and not the pizza as I pointed to it but she sorted it out quickly. The pork belly pizza lacked structural integrity but the pork rind went super crispy in the pizza oven.

We were regulars to NSP, we went last night and left extremely disappointed, we were offered complimentary dishes which were then charged to us an extra beer was added to the bill, social distancing rules weren't followed and to top it off the pasta was cold. New ownership has seen the great staff disappear, the menu change to an average offering. After years of dining at NSP we won't be back.

Myself and two girlfriends arrived there on a Sunday at about 2.30pm. We first bumped into a waiter who asked if he could help us. We said we were here for drinks and he then let us through. We walked toward the patio and then this Team Leader (?) dark hair lady with a tattoo pointed a finger at us and said no no no you can’t go there. She was rude and had no customer service at all. It was just shocking the way she talked to us. We said we’d like a drink in the patio area that was empty and she said no you can’t it’s for dinners only. Where are they then? No where! Then a waiter that I’ve met before tried to come to the rescue and defended her when he was not here in the first place and asked about the issue. So now we had an issue. At that point we decided to leave and go next door at Gerome where we got greeted with respect and they looked after us very well. I’m a local and I’ve been to NSP many times and never been treated like this. The restaurant has changed hands and it’s all going down hill.

Second time going to NSP. The decor is absolutely amazing inside and doesn’t feel like you are sitting indoors. Completely different vibes to other restaurants. <br/><br/>Both times I’ve been to Non Solo Pizza the food has been really good and worth the money. Serving sizes are fair and quality of food really good. The pizza is very authentic - make sure you eat it quickly though or the pizza will get super soggy. <br/><br/>My favourite meal so far has been the lamb paparadelle which was very warm and hearty. The margarita pizza is also simple but satisfying. I ordered the spaghetti with prawns this time and the portion size was very good and lots of big juicy prawns. My friends enjoyed their dishes also. <br/><br/>Desserts in my opinion are a bit meh and so I prefer to have my mains and food at NSP and go elsewhere for dessert. Service is mixed dependant on your server, the first time I had really good and helpful service and the second time had a semi awkward waiter who hovered a bit around the table. <br/><br/>Good place for authentic Italian food and keen to come back to try other food as the menu changes.

Was a really nice theme, very busy and yet the customer service was exceptional!<br/>Food was exceptional too. Didnt have to wait to long at all. Highly recommend it. Definitely going back!!!

We were celebrating my wife's 50th bday. Ordered a lot which was normal for us. The waitress serving asked 3x times if we were sure with our order. It annoyed even my kids as she sounded as if we were ignorant of what we were having. I was after condiments and was trying to wave for the same staff to get her attention. She was just standing by the bar. I felt like she noticed but ignored us reason that when I stood up her head quickly flicked towards our table. I just went near the cashier and got someone else. In fairness, the rest of the staff were great and we loved the food. Still had a good time to celebrate wifey's golden😊

Lovely experience here. The food was fantastic but the friendly staff really made it aswell. The calimari and entree risotto ball were fabulous. Calamari was a sure favourite. Everyone enjoyed their pizzas shown in the photos. I got the pasta dish with veal and mushrooms definitely needed the small if you have an entree. Pasta was cooked to perfection and all the flavours worked perfectly. Lastly I ordered a tirimisu which was average, I definitely have had better but still it didn't dissapoint. The Walnut tart was fabulous would recommend!

We had the private room for a work event this week. <br/>Food was very good and everyone very much enjoyed that. All of the people who had dietary requirements were thoroughly taken care of.  <br/>However, the downsides were that the music was way too loud in the room and the staff struggled to figure out how to turn it down, the food took a long time to come out and the waitress kept coming in to top up glasses when people were in the middle of speeches. <br/>Overall, I would be back but not use the private room again.

We got the Quattro Stagioni and Prosciutto Crudo E Rucola Pizza, as well as the Veal Nocchi, Seafood Linguine and Mushroom&Cream Tagliatelle Pasta. The pizzas were tasty but a little hard to eat because they weren't cut up properly. The Nocchi was my favourite pasta - nocchi is really chewy and the veal was very tender. The staff were really kind too!

Was craving a pizza on a Wednesday evening and stumbled across this place. Didn't realise how deep in the place was. Found it more fine dining instead of casual. Service was great, well looked after. My slow brain took a while to realise that I was having Linguine with Tiger prawns and not fried noodles. Don't get me wrong, it was still very tasty. Pizza was delicious, so glad to have ordered it in the end (even though were advised against it as we had ordered two mains already and would be too full.. Wisest advice we've ever been given really, as the waiter was right and we roly-poly'd our way back to the car). Would definitely come again.

Was here on a Saturday night for a nice celebratory dinner. The place may look just like any other from the outside, but has a beautiful set up once you step in. The interior is nicely done, with the right amount of greenery and lights dim enough to set a relaxing tone but not so much that you can't exactly take in the surroundings. It's a lovely place to spend your Saturday evening, whether you'd like some drinks from the bar or bites from the restaurant out back.<br/><br/>We had a bit of an issue with the reservations that we made online but once that was sorted with the front-of-house staff, I found the service to be amazing! Our waiter was patient with us, helping us with our orders and giving recommendations in regards to the serving sizes etc. He was friendly and made our experience all the more better!<br/><br/>Amongst us we ordered the linguine, calamari, pane speciale, and mediterrano pizza to share. We also ordered spaghetti with meatballs (not on the menu, but they offered to make it for us!) The spaghetti was done nicely with just the right amount of tomato paste and a generous amount of meatballs. The linguine was delicious but it could have done with a bit more flavour. The pane was a bit underwhelming - sourdough that was a bit too hard for my liking. The pizza was well loved, and so was the calamari. As for serving size, we found it to be fitting and filling. Overall, the meal was great, not one flavour dominated another and all the dishes complemented one another pretty well.<br/><br/>Had a great dining experience here, and I'm sure I'll be back in due time! Would definitely recommend the place if you're looking for somewhere with great atmosphere and a good dining experience!<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Ambiance: 10/10<br/>Service: 9/10

A bit of a hidden Parnell gem considering they're hidden behind a smaller restaurant out front. NSP had become our favourite pizza spot on Auckland with their authentic menu, ingredients, beverage list and amazing staff. A little on the pricey side sp expect to pay upwards of $25 for your pizza but rest assured it's worth the money!

Ambience great! shame about the food , pizza bread great! but meals very tasteless, prawns tasteless maybe pre-frozen, linguine from a packet? had veal coated in polenta, soggy! sliced ham and melted cheese flung on top. Could have been eating cardboard.Seafood chowder perfume tainted ( perhaps dishwashing liquid) . Lovey waitress, I felt sorry for her working there. Owner/manager rude couldn't care less about our complaint- very defensive. Overpriced for quality of food. How hard it is to cook simple tasty food using fresh ingredients. Not store bought and not pre frozen seafood. Maybe ok for a pizza -but would not return.

We went here on a rainy Saturday night. Ambience is quite good for a date night but we found it too noisy though. Food is average not really special but not bad too. A bit pricey considering the quality of food. Anyway, good to try only once.

Went there on a Wednesday night around 7pm. It was busy and we waited for a food for quite a long time. We ordered:<br/>1) Quattro Stagioni - good pizza but nothing special.<br/>2) Fritti Misto di Mare - this was tasty and would recommend.<br/>3) Ravioli Alla Piemontese - absolutely love it and the best dish among what we ordered.<br/>4) Linguine con gamberi e bottarga - very bland and didn’t really like it.<br/>Staff weren’t that so approachable as well. A bit rude just placing dessert menus on the table without asking us if we wanted to have them.

Party of 4; Had a pizza night out during the week. Ambiance and service was great. My Pizza Neapolitan was tasty but lacked garlic. The other pizzas looked appealing. A BIG negative was the blunt flatware!! All four of us were sawing away at our pizzas and the cheese had already congealed by the time we were halfway through ! Disappointing pizzas from a top class restaurant. Will I go back? Probably not.

This place is amazing, we went for a special occasion dinner and were not disappointed. Genuine Italian restaurant, great atmosphere and the food was so good. Highly recommend.

Non Solo Pizza is damn good son. Went here with my family and had a amazing experience. I got the Spaghetti Alla Nerano and it was damn delicious, so full of flavour and so so so fresh was just perfect. We also got pizza breads to share and they were also so fresh and just perfect. The service here is 10/10 the waiter we had was so cute and kept making jokes and was just super friendly but the manager that night is a snobby cow she just glared at everyone and looks down on everyone, even when our waiter was joking around and being friendly she got really irritated by that and kept yelling at the poor guy :((, apart from that I can't hype this place up enough! although it's more pricey than the average restaurant but it's well worth the extra money for better food and service. You really needa try this place 10/10. x

Popped into Non-Solo Pizza for lunch with the fam and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. The ambience is gorgeous and the seating outside is lovely. The service was really good with waiters checking on us super frequently. I had the spaghetti & meatballs and the spaghetti and sauce was good but I didnt touch the meatballs as I am not a fan of meatballs in general so I do wish that they had a tomato based sauce pasta on the menu. The table got a pizza to share which everyone loved and everyone liked their meals a lot. Definitely want to go back and try something else on the menu.

I have to give credit for the food, as it tasted good and the service was fairly quick. I loved the atmosphere as we went here at night, however I just found our waiter specifically a bit much as we felt rushed. Came here for a friend’s birthday, and it seemed as if she just kept throwing menus at us so we could get out quicker. <br/><br/>Other than that, non solo offers a variety of dishes which is good as the options are not limited.

Dined here for the first time tonight. Walked in and waited around awkwardly for around 5 mins to be seated- there was a young girl working who just completley ignored us and turned her back. When finally seated, after waiting 10 minutes we finally decided to ask for a menu. Then the food- my partners beer tasted old and both our dishes were average, completley not what we had expected for the cost! Service was the worst though- seemed as if none of the staff wanted to be there and it translated making us feel very unwelcome. Won't be returning

I honestly really loved the food and the atmosphere of this restaurant but the service was very unfriendly. <br/><br/>It was Saturday around 6pm and we didn’t have a booking, so we were seated at the tall tables which were very happy to have. <br/><br/>We ordered a couple of pizzas and a pasta to share, all of which was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend!<br/><br/>However the service was very disappointing, the waiter was not friendly and seemed like they wanted us to leave as soon as we finished our plates.

How? I had amazing food in the early 2000’s apparently. The lighting is just a nightmare. Different sizes, styles etc. THE WALLPAPER now this. is. an. issue. Also the curtain situation is pointless and frankly offensive lol. Aircon dirty as hell. So many random pillars that mess with the layout of the restaurant. <br/><br/>Service cold as f*ck. <br/><br/>Gnocchi was good, might come back.
Max Nguyen
We came to the restaurant with a fairly high expectation in mind as our colleagues sang this place praises. The setting is lovely and the ambience is cosy. Waiters and waitresses are all friendly. We ordered Caprissio pizza and chargrilled octopus. <br/>As soon as the food came things turned south. The octopus was super rubbery I could barely chew it well. The pizza was fine (not the best to be honest) but the chef forgot to add anchovies to our pizza. At the end, to put cherry on top we were given the wrong tab to pay for, however the cashier/hostess ran after us to notify the mistake and we were cashed back the difference. But one important thing she forgot was to check on how we enjoyed our meal or check in to see how things went. We didn’t bother to give the feedback as well since she didn’t seem to think it matters anyways. Overall, the whole experience is not positive and the quality of the food is just mediocre. Don’t think we’ll come back.

The atmosphere of this place is lovely. Mediterranean feel with an indoor-outdoor flow. Sculptures, marble-esque outside tables, green leafy plants. The service was very professional amongst the busy nature of the restaurant. The food here was also delicious - I asked the waitress to help me with my dietary requirements (vegan) as the menu was hard to navigate around and she gave me so many delicious options to choose from. I went with the bruschetta, eggplant and zucchini, and finished off my meal with a soy Chai Latte. All in all, I was a very satisfied customer.
Nikki Rae
Starting off with the good, the food came out quite fast and was tasty but that’s about all the nice things I can say about the restaurant. <br/><br/>The hostess was rude and arrogant. She acted like we didn’t belong there and gave us the worst time even when we were paying she made us use our phones to calculate how much we had to pay. Not sure what her problem was because we ordered plenty, made a booking and acted decently. Will most likely not come back.
SpoonMe
Loved the ambiance of the restaurant how it’s tucked away out back with a semi outdoor feeling. <br/>The food here was okay. Nothing too crazy about it. If I were spending this much money I think I’d rather go to Baduzzi which has a similar vibe or it’s not really the same but Cotto if you wanted Italian. <br/>I tired the Gnocchi and it was tasty but I had better at Williams Eatery and they’re not even an Italian place. The Gnocchi wasn’t melt in you mouth which is what I expected from a well established Italian restaurant. I probably won’t be back for the pasta but I’d be keen to try their pizza if I do ever come here again.

Non solo pizza is always fun. Nice and busy on a Friday evening.Had the vege lasagna which was lovely comfort food.. Great waitress.<br/><br/>Would definitely go again sometime.

Love the atmosphere. Good selection of pizza, pasta and wine. Great customer service. Staff seems knowledgeable and prompt service. Would definitely be back.
Jenny Zhao
Apart from the lady at the counter who processed our payment. Everything else was just marvelous! The waiter kept coming over and make sure that we are at best comfort. The place is clean and love their decorations.

We enjoyed dinner here as a group of 4 - our 7-year old twin daughters, my husband and myself. We were lucky enough to secure the table service from a friendly young waiter who was happy to recommend dishes (and wines for my husband) for our table. Our daughters each ordered a children's margherita pizza (which was bunny shaped), for the table we ordered a fried seafood selection and cauliflower fritter (my husband loved the paprika aioli which accompanied the dish). My husband had a prosciutto blanco pizza and I ordered vegetarian eggplant bake (which one of our daughters ended up eating the majority of). The childrens' pizzas were lovely, the fritto mare was quite salty, but the saltiness was tamed to a strong brininess when accompanied by the fresh lemon and aioli. The cauliflower fritter was solid but not heavy, the cauliflower taste was easy to detect and matched the sauce in boldness. My eggplant dish was small, but the flavours were so big and vibrant, the tomato reduction was delicious. Our daughters both ended their meals with a caramel coconut tart which included bruleed banana and banana gelato, which were both amazing, not to detract from the tart which was strong and beautifully plated. The whole experience was one we would love to repeat again some time in the future.

Excellent service. Sommelier knew his wine and staff were attentive without being “in your face”. We only tried the pizzas as it was a quick bite enroute but they were delicious. The menu was comprehensive and we are very keen to return when we have more time...<br/>

We went there for a special celebration, and it was just perfect! A cocktail to start in the bar / garden area, moving to our table after that, our waiter read us so well left us alone while talking, came to us when we were ready to order a drink or food. We ended up having a few of starters to share and 2 beautiful mains accompanied with a beautiful bottle of Spelt 2013. followed by dessert with a coffee. Everything was just amazing. The only thing that wasn't what we expected was the carpaccio, were there was too much rhubarb for our taste, but the flavours were still great. Would totally recommend going there if you want to have a relaxed and beautiful night out.
ABR
Best salad in town. <br/>We’ve ordered the salad, carbonara, chicken ravioli and pizza (plus few drinks). As mentioned above, except the salad everything was below average. Carbonara had a newly invented sauce that was mediocre. Ravioli was like the canned ones from supermarkets. Food not worth for price, maybe one can go for its ambience. Would like to give one but the front staff was friendly except the manager, so 2 stars. Ps. Wow the expresso martini...thought I was drinking vodka straight.

Non solo pizza is always fun. Nice and busy on a Friday evening.Had the vege lasagna which was lovely comfort food. My partner had prawn pasta . Quite spicy but delicious. Great waitress.

The service is just sooooo bad here! Super snobby! I came here 3 times for business, just terrible experience each time! It's very embarrassing to come with clients and colleagues.

I would recommend this restaurant, been there twice and will def go back again.😊<br/>The service is superb, specially Sammy he’s very personable and so efficient. 😉<br/>

Consistently good food, service and ambience! Thank you for making our pre Xmas lunch so enjoyable!! We will definitely be back and bring more friends next time!
I_like_pickles
I really like the outdoor covered dining. It gives off a nice outdoor feel without having it be actually outdoors because it's covered. <br/><br/>The pizzas could do with a bit more toppings. Especially for the price you pay, you would expect a little more toppings on your pizza. The gnocchi was a good size and the sauce was tasty.
Sammy D
The ambiance is everything here! The courtyard was dim and romantic. The service was professional and the food was excellent. The burnt butter and sage ravioli and spinach scialatelli were the standouts. Simple flavours done well.
Fernando Mayoral
Good:<br/>Great service.<br/>Great ambience.<br/><br/>Good portion size.<br/><br/>Meh:<br/>Food was a bit bland.<br/><br/>Bad:<br/>Long wait.<br/>Price.<br/><br/>I've been here recently, ordered a calzone, a bit bland in my opinion, dough was on point though, but the filling was not quite right, good ingredients were used, it was well prepared in terms of technique and it was cooked in a traditional pizza oven, everything seemed to be there at first glance, but to my taste it could've used a bit of seasoning and to be honest, for the price I was expecting much more in terms of quality.<br/>I'm sure they'd have fixed that if I have asked but I didn't want to wait anymore as we had a big table and wait was long.<br/>I'd go again and try something else though, everything looked really nice.
HelenMeng2000
Really nice italian restaurant, the waitress was lovely and the food was amazing. The bruschetta and calamari rings are the best, and the lasagne is delicious. Only downside is the portions are a bit small for the price. (Calamari rings were worth the price though)
Aimee.
The food here is absolutely stunning and fresh. The pizza base has a great texture and there is a huge variety of toppings. They were kind enough to make the porchetta and truffle pizza only half with meat. Great customer service and wonderful atmosphere.

First visit to NSP for me and won't be the last. Very stylish place with great waiting staff and very good food. Fritto misto was huge and very well done. Don't normally get fish with it, but did this time! Wife had gorgonzola gnocchi which was delicious. Italian breads made for a very filling and great lunch. Highly recommended

I was starving and excited by the decor so I tried the Ravioli. But imagine my disappointment when five small pieces of undercooked pasta arrived, for approximately forty dollars. <br/>That's nearly ten dollars for each piece of pasta. Pathetic and outrageous. <br/>All the money must have gone on the outlandish decor and pretentious waiters with no care for the menu.<br/><br/>My wife ordered the gnocchi which was as salty as sea water, which she returned as inedible.<br/><br/>This place is all talk and no trousers.<br/><br/>If you have to go, order the pizza, no one can screw up pizza.
Mark Burney
Food: on the whole really good and close to genuine Italian. Excellent wide range on offer<br/>Wine: perfect. Good range of mostly Italian wines that satisfied all palates in our group<br/>Service: really good. Waiting staff knowledgeable on wine and also Italian just to add to the flavour. Wine glasses continuously topped up and there was no waiting for foods<br/>Overall: we held the bar open beyond normal closing time and the staff were accommodating which was appreciated. Good food, wine and service, I'll be back
ChefZ
Great ambience and feel, amazing service but very average food. Ordered the burrata and fried pizza for starters & Beef ravioli and duck ragu parpadelle as mains. Sad to see the burrata being killed; nailed the fried pizza however the basic tomato sauce could've been better. The duck Ragu could've been more bolder in terms of flavor and in general the overall body as a sauce as it definitely lacked seasoning, was very light and bland as the sauce wouldn't even coat the pulled duck and the pasta, but the homemade pasta saved the dish. <br/>The beef ravioli, A must have... all it's elements - just superb.

It's a bit hard to find this place as it's not right next to the street. You have to walk through Oysteria to get to it but I have a feeling it's the same store. Well, Non Solo Pizza is right at the back. <br/>The pizza base is delicious and crispy and puffy too. Everything about the pizza was delicious. <br/>But the environment looks very high class (beautiful chairs, chandelier etc). It made us think that the pizza was spectacular. Don't get me wrong, the pizza was delicious but it didn't give a wow factor. <br/>Still worth the try, it's not too expensive.

I've been here a good few times for relatives birthdays or work functions and the private dining room is beautiful! The veal ravioli is a must, only three pieces however it's quite rich that it hits the spot. Best pasta I have ever had! The caprese is also worth a mention. Beautiful beautiful food but I think it's a little over priced. I like that they offer takeaway, a lot of the nicer restaurants don't so it's great having the option to enjoy their gorgeous food in the comfort of your own home.
Mr Euro Trash
This place has the best Italian Italian pizza outside Italy. Having visited Rome's voted best pizzeria La Gatta Mangiona not too long ago, I have somewhat of a reference point.<br/><br/>Food<br/><br/>Best pizza outside outside Italy I've had. Apparently they import the flour from Italy which explains the quality of the dough; it's light and airy, but also nicely chewy and thin without being cooked overly crispy or too oily. The tomato base seems to proper crushed tomatoes, which creates a nice light layer of tomato without making the base soggy and dislodging the toppings. The pizza is real Mozzarella balls ripped and it melts to nicely over the pizza, rather than creating a sticky layer of cheesy. Fresh herbs are used and authentic Italian nicely seasoned meats top of the pizza perfectly. <br/><br/>I've visited Non Solo a few times now and as much as I'd like to test out other dishes, I seem always to be drawn to Margherita Con Salame E Peperoncino. I did request a off-menu pasta dish of Linguine al Pomodoro (checking the quality of the pasta with a simple dish) to be shared as an appetiser with my company and after checking with the chef, the waiter was happy to oblige.  This dish did not disappoint. It was fresh, perfectly cooked dish. <br/><br/>Decor<br/><br/>The front part of the restaurant is like a small street cafe/bar where you can enjoy cup of coffee or a light meal. It also acts as a small deli, where you can buy cheeses, deli meats and other Italian delicacies to go, although they don't seem to advertise this much. As you walk through the cafe, the restaurant is located in the back and has two distinct areas; indoor sitting area and covered outdoor area. The outdoor area has heaters, plants and ponds with waterfalls trying to create an Italian feel. It's not really that authentic with plastic ceiling and so on, but it's still rather nice area to have a meal. <br/><br/>Service<br/><br/>The service is usually top notch. Interestingly, times when it's been quiet, the service have sometimes been a bit slow and tricky to get the waiters' attention. Maybe this was because we like to sit on the outdoor area.

I have been to NSP quite a few times and it has been a mixed result.<br/><br/>Have had a business lunch here where service was impeccable and food great. But recently did not have a good experience with average food and just ok service.<br/><br/>Photos are of calamari which was not hot and a bit soggy, and the pizza meant to have Italian sausage with fennel, chilli and basil was not good at all. Sausage was more like a sizzler/luncheon and no sign of basil! Plus the cutlery was so dull both me and my friend left with sore hands from trying to cut our pizza.<br/><br/>Such a shame as this place has been a go to previously!

Came here for dinner 3 times now and the food is below average and way too pricey for what it is. The last time I came was very bad. We ordered 2 pizzas and 3 pastas and they were all not nice. None of us enjoyed the dinner. The pizza had about 5 prawns on it and the rest was tomato. The pasta was really bad with hardly any meat on it. <br/>The atmosphere and the actual dining area is quite beautiful and that's the only reason why I would recommend it to another person. Otherwise it's a gimic and far too pricey for no reason. The service was average and the food was really late. Had to ask them when it will be done until they finally brought it out which makes me think they forgot about it and had it just sitting there. I won't be coming back to this place anymore.

Went here for a romantic date night & is the perfect place to go for one. Service was amazing & the food was absolutely delicious. Can't get past how incredibly beautiful it is inside! Definitely the place you wanna go for a quite intimate date.

Came here earlier in the year, in mid February for my sisters Birthday Lunch, out in the courtyard. <br/><br/>She had ordered a few different starters including aracini balls, and breads which were average. I recall having a pasta with prawns which was also very average. The menu is also mostly in Italian and it can be hard to decipher. Food was meh, pretty bland.<br/><br/>Apart from the food the wait staff were AMAZING! So hilarious and they really made the afternoon special. <br/><br/>The actual set up is incredible. I would have to say hands down the most beautiful restaurant i have been to. Will definitely be back just for the great service and atmosphere. Yes the food isn't great but on the whole it's worth coming back for a chilled Sunday arvo.

Saturday night at Non Solo. Delicious food, drinks but alright service. Kept forgetting a drink we had ordered. We went for Arancini rice balls,  lightly fried Calamari and Scamorza, funghi e pancetta bread, Quattro funghi pizza, Chicken Ravioli, Chocolate Fondant and Tiramisu. Everything was so delicious but the ravioli was a little al dente. Favourites were the Scamorza, funghi e pancetta bread which was sauteed mushrooms with pancetta and smoked cheese on bruschetta bread and the Chocolate Fondant. For a full review check out my blog entry at azanagoesbananas.

We had a massive group lunch (15+ pax) at nsp a few months ago at the outside area with the fountain which was lovely , this time there were 3 of us and ordered pasta x 2 and lasagna. They were accommodating with the specially made pasta too. The deserts were fantastic to round off the massive lunch we had, highly recommended the home made tiramisu ! also book in advance since it was reasonably busy when we went late Friday avo!

We happened to meet here for a friend's birthday lunch. The garden is so beautiful for a summer's day lunch. Friendly staff and amazing food!

I am always impressed by the great staff and service. The food is always good... authentic but familiar. Love love love the calamari. Rustic, charming and consistent. A must if you love Italian cuisine
Michelle M
Consistently great service and amazing food. Such knowledgeable staff and we were wise to take the waiter's recommendation on the entree special - it was awesome.

I have a weakness for some good Italian carbohydrates! The food at NSP is great, and there is an extensive menu to choose from. Service is hit and miss, definitely room for improvement, but I will continue to return as the brushetta and a glass of Viburno in the courtyard have me locked in for life!
Svetlana Banerjee
I definitely recommend this place! It was like a trip to Italy- the ambience and decor was beautiful (gutted I didn't take a pic) with an outside area with vines, and water structures as well as a classic romantic indoor area with a fire place and pizza oven. The service was 10/10 and the mains were traditional and delicious.
Wine & Dine
I have eaten here numerous times over the years and recently seen a decline in the quality of the food. I must say if my last visit was my first I wouldn't go back and my rating would be a 1. I ordered a second glass of wine and never got it, water glass was cracked and when I showed the server they took it and I had to ask for another glass 10 minutes later when my food came. Come on guys your better than this I always liked going there get back on the ball.

This was my first time at NSP tonight and it surely wont be the last! The place is beautiful, the service was great and the food was incredible. :)

We returned to NSP after a long absence. The entrance has been much improved, there is a bar on the street front that leads into the restaurant down the back. Although we sat indoors there is also a very inviting outdoor dining area with a louvred roof overhead which was full of patrons. Service was friendly, we were allowed just enough time to settle in before ordering. I ordered the deep fried calamari which for me was not quite crispy enough and a little under seasoned (a little more time in the frier and a little more salt would have been great). My chargrilled lamb loin was delicious, and the better half's gnocchi with lamb ragu was very good, light and fluffy rich with a decent slug of truffle oil. We shared a tiramisu which was okay but I've had better. All in all a pleasant evening with good but not great food.
Gaetano
We been to NSP many times over the years, the Italian eatery place is getting better and better. The service is very professional and friendly. We really love this place. I recommend this place to anyone who like good food. And the wine they make is fabulous.
Where To Next Auckland
Now these guys are on the fast track to becoming one of our favourite Italians! An amazing selection of classic Italian dishes with a difference, it's a great place to come for date night or dinner with friends. Our current pick? Their Lamb Gnocchi is absolutely amazing! And their Cheesey Calzone is huuge.. you definitely won't leave hungry. Their cosy decor makes for an amazing atmosphere.. if possible, grab a table out in their courtyard!
Vaekehu Tamarii
Nice restaurant, service good,we took 1 starter:fried calamari (too much oil),2 pizzas very good (one is enough for 2 people)and 2 glasses of wine for 91$nz <br/>We didn't take dessert because too much food

One of the best Italian restaurants in Auckland. Excellent decor on their large premises, giving it a special atmosphere. Our young waiter was hilarious - made us laugh many times! We started off with a pizza, which lived up to the place's nomenclature. I had a ravioli dish, which rightfully melted in my mouth. Many on our table had the spaghetti with prawns, which even smelt amazing from a distance, with the spaghetti cooked just right. Will come here next time we're in Parnell.
I'm Hungry
Came here by chance on a weekday lunch break while walking on parnell road, it looked like a good place for some authentic Italian. Even though we weren't really dressed for fine dine, the spectacled young man at the door and the elderly lady ushered us in with great hospitality. Sadly the asian lady who was serving us was the judgy sort (I was not happy with her service) The ravioli was really good, however pizza crust was a bit burnt so my partner did not enjoy it much. Decor and ambience was A+

Pretty, pretentious and Parnell, Non-Solo Pizza has definitely earned its place amongst Parnell's elite restaurants.<br/><br/>Immediately scrutinised for my choice of jandals, NRL shorts and James singlet, my group was shown to a table within the marvellous indoor/outdoor pavilion. <br/><br/>We ordered a few drinks and a starter bruschetta for the table. Then we proceeded to engross ourselves in top class banter, only to be constantly disturbed by their lovely waiter who, although knowledgable, was a little too eager for us to order some extra dishes.<br/><br/>Our drinks rejuvenated our giggly gossip and the bruschetta was wonderfully presented. It was fabulous and definitely lit up our stomachs.<br/><br/>Perhaps next time once I'm in my Oxfords, I might venture out here and order some mains.<br/><br/>Showstopper: Detail and care. Trust me.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: A-

Recommended to dine here by a local. Monday evening dinner. The place was packed. <br/>A great menu and wine selection offered for all tastes.<br/>Started with the antipasto to share with a couple of local wines while deciding on additional courses.<br/>Great selection on the platter with magnificent meats and cheeses accompanied by pickled vegetables and a truffle butter.<br/>Decided on the ravioli (recommended) and the chefs selection of three vegetables. All fantastic.<br/>Service efficient and helpful.<br/>Overall a great place for dining.

Bought 4 takeaway pizzas on Saturday night having hears they were good and they were foul. Mostly crust and Olives. Not advisable to spend your 25 per pizza here

We had a very nice meal here tonight. The food was very tasty and well presented. There is a very extensive menu. We had a goats cheese and mushroom bruschetta to start followed by a very nice lasagna with house salad. All the pasta is home made.<br/>This was accompanied by a bottle of Valpolicella Alleguini red wine.<br/>The restaurant was busy but the service was impeccable and attentive.<br/>Altogether a very good dining experience.

I'm not usually one to write reviews but tonight I had a mixed experience worth mentioning. Starting with the positives I enjoyed the food, great quality pasta and pizza breads, and a fantastic drink selection. Nice ambience but the acoustics of the restaurant are not great so it was quite noisy (wouldn't recommend for a cosy date because of the noise). Our male waiter was FANTASTIC, he knew the menu very well and had great knowledge of the restaurant's food AND wine. We had a lovely night, and everything went smoothly until it came to paying the bill. <br/><br/>I would like to comment on what basically ruined the night for me and the group that I came with (I made a reservation for a farewell dinner, table of 11). Firstly when it came to paying the bill, what I've come to expect in every restaurant for splitting the bill is as follows: customer mentions the dishes/drinks they ordered and staff adds these together and comes up with a total. However this particular female staff member did not follow this procedure for whatever reason and some of my guests were told "here's the bill, add up what you got and come back to me with your total" which I have always believed to be the job of restaurant staff. In the end the final bill came up as $20.00 short (no dishes were exactly $20 on the bill). Even though it was paid for with no argument, the lady was very rude about it saying that someone hadn't paid their part and when questioned about it because of her horrible attitude, accused one of my guests of being dishonest and trying to get a free drink or meal out of someone else which was wildly out of line (this is a very close group of friends, and we have been meeting regularly together for years, not to mention all are working professionals). You can understand how upsetting this was and how it provoked a reaction from some of my friends. <br/><br/>I am upset that no apology was made for the attitude given by the staff, and about the unprofessionalism and sheer laziness of this particular staff member. Had she calculated and made sure from the beginning that each dish and drink was accounted for, this conflict could have been avoided. My guests were treated APPALLINGLY, and all we really expect is basic courtesy. In the end we were "shooed" out of the restaurant. <br/><br/>Apart from our first male waiter, the DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE is enough of a reason never to come back here.
Hope Christie
AMAZING!!!! Loved everything about this place. Food was incredible, snapper was so succulent and well cooked. Dessert was decadent. The service was the BEST I have ever had. The waiter we had, Sami, was so friendly, helpful and high spirited. Was truly the best dining experience I have had. IMPRESSED!! Thanks Sami :)

Non Solo Pizza has been a fave regular spot for many years (and all occasions). They do simple food to an amazing standard with freshly made pasta etc...<br/>Lots of areas to choose from - outside in the courtyard next to the fountain or inside which is more formal.<br/>Tonight we skipped the entrees as we didn't want to chance being too full for dessert. Most of us had the chicken ravioli with vine tomatoes which was absolutely delicious. The parcels were delicate yet sturdy enough not to fall apart. The sauce was well balanced. Another friend chose a pizza which was again well made & yum.<br/>We had 2 side salads which were lovely & fresh. A great accompaniment to our dishes <br/>For desserts we chose the tiramisu which is always a fave as its well made onsite. Also the creme brûlée which wasn't as nice - it was very cold (fresh from the fridge?) & very strong. Also the strudel & the chocolate fondant which was yum.<br/>Service was mostly good apart from a mix up with one of our dishes which we weren't upset about, but was handled strangely by our waiter.<br/>All in all a great place for delicious food

I came here on a Wednesday at 4.30pm ordered drinks, an antipasto platter, pizza and bread. <br/>The food was all very good. I particulary liked the outdoor area with the fireplace it seemed  like a nice cozy place to hang out until around 5.30pm when the place became quickly packed.

Had a fantastic meal here tonight. This was our first time. The restaurant was packed. We had a great waiter who was very attentive. Went through the menu with us and even made some personal suggestions. My daughter and I had the lasagne which was heavenly. Hubby had the Osso Bucco which he loved. The Tiramisu and Creme Brûlée were delicious. Will definitely be going back.

NSP is my family's go-to restaurant for celebration dinners. It has a great bar area for waiting and having a glass of Prosecco, with a lovely fireplace and some outdoor dining out the front of the restaurant. Once inside, the glass cabinet on entry displays some of the antipasto dishes you'll soon find on your menu. There is regularly a beef ravioli with truffle cream sauce as a special, which is the best pasta I've ever eaten and I've yet to turn it down when it's been on offer. Everything else at NSP is great too - from pizza to pasta to dessert. Absolute gold.
Kate Moran
Fantastic atmosphere, great service. However, as someone that's frequented NSP for about 6 months now it's started to slide. The meals aren't as flavoursome as they once were (recent menu changes are all a bit bland) and plating has no care to it. Miss how this place was December of last year and hope their kitchen finds their footing again. Still can't fault the service though.
Dyana Metson
Given this place a try a few times, pizza is nice but nothing really stood out on the menus and the things that I tried weren't anything that wowed me. Loved the set up, very beautiful and the ambiance is nice. Just feel as though the staff aren't happy, I feel like more of a nuisance when I come here.

This place is the closest I've been to real Italian food in NZ. I've lived 7years in Italy and I can confidently tell you that we are lucky to have this guys bringing the very best of Italian food culture to Auckland.
Frank
A beautiful sonata of elegance and refinement. I have been dying to come here for a while and it didn't disappoint. With multiple eating and bar areas, both indoor and in an outdoor covered and heated garden built in Italian style with vines and water features, this place is the embodiment of a stylish Italian restaurant. It is Parnell's version of Andiamo, but perhaps more colourful. The food and service was brilliant, and the pace was relaxed and enjoyable. We felt like part of the scene rather than a number to be squeezed through. My only concerns were the options for kids which were either overpriced or oversized. Sharing a pizza for them is probably best. My gnocchi was outstanding and my rhubarb and apple filo strudel simply sensational...
Jenin Dean
I love this place... So hidden and private and supreme! Love the atmosphere ( great outdoor seating in summer) food is devine! Service is on point! Love love love

The front of house hostess was so rude and unhelpful that it spoiled the night. However all the other staff were fantastic. Food average. Excellent follow up by the owner and genuine apology.
DontScrewWihMaFood
I will describe this place as average. Taste isn't great. Stick to the basics here. The rest is average and not worth getting experimental. Keep the lab coat at home or go elsewhere.
Philip
Good selection of pizzas and sharing plates as well as mains. Good wine and beverage selection. Always great service. Bring back the carpaccio however

Came in with my boyfriend. The young boy seating tables ignored us and walked pass three times. When we asked if he could seat us he said he couldn't because all the 8 free tables are booked. We sat at a bar leaner had a couple of coffees. We were there for an hour. None of the "booked" outside tables were used the entire time we were used. The coffee was nice but our experience with the terrible service won't have us back in a hurry.

Lunch here today and really enjoyed it. We decided to graze, with a mix of starters. Bruschetta, fried squid, arancini, and an antipasto platter. All really good and perfect for sharing.Plenty for all and helped on its way by some really well received cocktails. <br/>Two of the party needed pizza which was delicious. The waiter was mortified when he realised we had asked for no anchovies and the chef had included them. We were fine with that, me in particular as we picked them off and I had them!<br/>Been here several times now and you are never rushed no matter how busy they are and the service is always top drawer.
Goodfoodlovernz
We dined at NSP last night and likely for the last time. The staff were unwelcoming upon arrival and took no initiative to greet the four of us. It took over 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken then a further 15 mins to receive them, despite staff gossiping at the counter. This was brought to the waiter's attention who defended his actions and blamed us for arriving late in the evening. When we finally received our tapas and other plates they were tasty and we can't complain about their quality. However the slow and inattentive staff service at NSP this occasion and on another recent visit are the flavours which remain in our mouth.

Pasta is superb. Flavour is spectacular. <br/>Pizza is also very good and the dough is fantastic and well aged. Downside is that dessert was really disappointing. I mean the mains and savouries were great but really need to bring up dessert up to standard with the rest. <br/>Does not allow cigars in the outdoor area yet they allow smoking of cigarettes which I found stupid and annoying. <br/>But overall good food and I would definitely go for the pasta over the others
Miss Kiki
Walking in to the restaurant area is a nice surprise and not what you expect to find. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with lovely ambience.<br/>It feels like you are dining in an Italian villa. The only thing missing is Italian music or music that wasn't as acid jazz like to ehat they were playing.<br/>We all ordered mains and dessert.<br/>I ordered the Ravioli Alla Piemontese -<br/>Aromatic beef and spinach ravioli with burnt butter, sage, veal jus, parmesan and truffle oil. The pasta was tender and the sauce very flavoursome and hearty. Something I definitely would like to have again.<br/>I was also able to taste the Tortelli Di Zucca E Salsicce Organic egg tortelli with Italian fennel pork sausage, ricotta & scamorza cheese, 'Pacchetelle di pomodoro' stracciatella cheese & basil. This was good too but not nearly as good as my pasta dish. The prosciutto pizza was lovely too - they make a beautiful crust. Which is very light and the toppings are of high quality. <br/>I ordered the chocolate fondant. It was very beautifully presented and fairly good. I was also able to taste the tiramisu which was fine too. Overall the desserts did not impress me as much as the pastas did. Maybe because the pastas were incredible my expectations for the desserts were very high.<br/>
Carina Calitz
Very poor experience. We had to ask the waiter 3 times to be seated each time giving us a 15-20mins to 30-45mins waiting time. We waited for 40mins to be seated. The service was rushed and the atmosphere was extremely tense as we were seated close to the kitchen and bar. The food arrived fast but it tasted like it was rushed. The experience was not worth what we paid for. We will not be going back, ever

I took my team here for a casual dinner. Great ambience outside and truly lovely tapas selection. <br/><br/>Pizzas are made with fantastic fresh ingredients and kept simple.<br/><br/>Definitely go here for a relaxed vibe, a nice cold beer and a decent meal.

We came here a while back and it was amazing. The service was good. But the food was better!!! It was a good time with a good hidden plot. 4.5 good job

Frequent visitors of NSP as it is our local been going there for years and I must say one of the best places to drink. Great vibe and atmosphere, from the courtyard to the diner. Staff are friendly. The nibbles are always a pleasure and you cannot top the peroni on tap $10.5 for a pint, more bang for your buck then the likes of 46&york or Woodpecker Hill who charge $9.5 for half the size (its obvious who to choose).<br/><br/>So I highly recommend you visit Non Solo!

Excellent place , great atmosphere and great service , one of our regular places , food is rustic with bold flavours exactly what you expect from a great Italian restaurant

Had an early dinner here Wednesday evening. Have been here about 2 years ago and it was quite good. Today though was well below par. Croquettes entree was very dry, and needed a dipping sauce. 2 of us shared a pasta and pizza main.<br/><br/>The pasta was very nice. <br/><br/>The pizza was terrible. The crust if you can call it that was basically all dough. The base had some burnt spots on approx 3 out of the 8 pieces and the middle of the pizza from the dough in was really really soggy, the waitress asked how it was .... we told her and nothing further was done about it. As we were short on time we didn't want to make a big deal out of it so just paid and left .... and probably won't be back.
Alan
Had pizza for lunch. Very disappointed. Bottom soggy and sparse topping. Should have been a great pizza in a restaurant with this one's reputation. Others food was fine as it should be at the food and beverage pricing.

Attentive, welcoming staff.<br/>Fancy, but warm interior<br/>Atmosphere gives off the fancy dining vibe<br/>Outdoor seating is very pretty <br/>Their truffle pizza is simply amazing and this seafood spaghetti was to die for<br/>One of the best Italian in town<br/>Prices aren't cheap but so worth the taste and experience <br/>Tucked away in heart of parnell so makes it a bit hard to find. Parking is also another downside to come here :(<br/>But would definitely recommend !

Thought I'd give this place a second chance after going there for a ladies lunch and finding the service slightly under parr. Won't go there again as today we got undercooked pasta and cold mushy broccoli. The place is overpriced and lacking that very important element: Italian pride in food. Very disappointing but the waitress was really nice.
Sherry
Excellent food, good service, nice tea. Love the ambience here. A perfect place to catch up with friends! This awesome restaurant is a must try in Parnell!

My bf and I love trying out new places, this was our first time here and we had mixed thoughts. we love our italian food but somehow our main of the tortelli was a major let down. We ordered the main size of the tortelli pasta which we were recommended by the waiter, what arrived was 6 tortelli's that would not be enough to satisfy anyone. Considering its size, it was a let down so we thought the flavours would be bursting.. unfortunately not.. the pasta skin was tough. We also ordered a pizza which was good but not great. Luckily the entree of croquettes and our dessert was the saviour of the night. I would go back and try their other pastas as seeing from other tables nearby, the spaghetti and risotto looked amazing.

Went for dinner and the food was very good<br/><br/>Started off with arancini balls which were tasty with the saffron infused rice with little dottings of cheese and salami. Only down side was some of the balls didn't have the cheese or salami which made it slightly disappointing and a lottery as to whether you got the full experience<br/><br/>Mains of lasagne, steak and ravioli. All full of flavour and good portion sizes. The steak was cooked well medium rare but could have done with a little more rendering of the fat cap. The addition of truffle oil to top it off was a nice touch. The potato side accompanying it was light and great. The ravioli is as cooked al dente with fantastic butter, sage sauce so no complaints there at all. Lasagne was well done with good flavour and a little surprising with the combination which isn't with the normal ragu-type sauce. Overall quite enjoyable and different<br/><br/>Dessert we had the degustation tasting plate which was a mixture of the strudel, fondant, tiramisu, gelati and semifreddo. The highlights were the gelati, strudel and fondant which was all extremely well done. The tiramisu was ok but the semifreddo was a let down as it was completely frozen with the pineapple bits within it frozen and crystalised which was the only mark against it<br/><br/>Wait staff were attentive and helpful and the atmosphere good<br/><br/>Overall a pleasant experience and will definitely return in the future

One of our favourite places even before we came to live in the area.  Lunch in the courtyard in summer - or even in winter on a sunny day - is divine.   Honest, reliable Italian fare and the pizzas are particularly good - great to share with a glass of wine. Service is always friendly and efficient.  We also frequent the front of road cafe/bar for coffee at least a couple of times each week.  It's a bit of a walk up a gentle incline, and we do have to pass other similar places on the way BUT Non Solo Pizza definitely serves the best coffee in Parnell without a doubt!

I came here for pizza and loved it. <br/><br/>The service was attentive and friendly. The layout was suitable for a sunny lunch or a nice dinner inside <br/><br/>The bruschetta was great. The tomatoes were so fresh and flavourful. <br/><br/>The pizzas tastes homemade and the dough was light and the crust had a flour finish <br/><br/>Definitely coming back to try their dinner and drinks !<br/><br/>

I love coming to this place, the food is consistently good and the ambience/decor is perfect for any occasion, whether its a romantic date, birthday or just an overdue catch up with friends! <br/><br/>I love the woodfired pizzas and the beef ravioli. My friends also enjoyed the steak and salmon. I must say the deserts aren't as good. I tried the chocolate lava cake, tiramisu and cheesecake - all were mediocre, no standouts and nothing special about any of them. The lava cake was quite dry and the chocolate 'lava' didn't really ooze out, it was more of a thick custard consistency rather than the smooth gooey center you want it to be! I would rate this place higher if the deserts matched the food.<br/><br/>Overall a very special and stand-out spot in Parnell that I will continue to go back to.

Taste of Auckland. What a unique place to be. A must go for all that love food (and free samples). At NSP, I had the Cannelloni. It was pretty good indeed. What was good was watching the guy taking the orders. Or the "MC". He had his microphone and was chatting away to the customers in both English and Italian and getting a great response from those in the kitchen. That passion is exactly what we expect to get into our food from Italians. And in the end....made the food taste so much better.
HJ
Nsp already has a great reputation, so it was a no brainer to see what they had on offer at Taste. We tried the Provola affumicata and the Cannelloni. The cannelloni was the best value for money out of the dishes on the night that we ordered. This is was full of flavour and smothered in a delicious sauce. The Provola was something different for us but was also a really good dish.

We have been back to NSP so many times. Great Italian food with a great atmosphere. Best enjoyed in the summer. The anti pesto platter is great for sharing and my favourite is the Quattro stagione pizza. Yum

Every time I go to non solo I am always pleased with every part of it - almost! The staff are very accommodating and friendly. I think they have had special training or something because I've never found waiters like these anywhere in Auckland! I love the decor of the restaurant, it's very 'fine dining' European style. The menu is pretty large but not overbearing. Most importantly the food is out of this world - every single item I have tried is mind blowing. The textures, flavour and quality of ingredients are all on point. My only issue with non solo is the vibe of the place is a little off putting and the staff do tend to make you feel a little rushed at times.
Lexi
Loved the whole decor these guys have going. The drinks were good (one Long Island ice tea too many) and the food was also very very yum. A waitress kept bringing out complimentary canopes and they were lovely, the waitress serving them (a tiny thing with a wicked hairstyle) was also very friendly and so was the waiter who also made our drinks (the tall guy with dark hair and a sweet smile). We ordered a bread platter that my friends and I devoured in minutes. All in all it was a good evening. Money and time well spent.

My boyfriend took me and my bestie here for my birthday! The place doesn't have any big signs so it's a little hard to find. Inside the seating and deco is beautiful, they have a fire place which is great for those that want to keep a little warmer in winter. The meals we got were casoncelli di porri e patate ai funghi (vege pasta), alla margherita (vege pizza) and revioli di pollo (chicken pasta). The cocktails were nice as well. The service here is good as you would expect but the meals are quite pricey! My boyfriend surprised me with a cake ($25) which tasted really nice but we only had a small portion of it as we were all full. We asked our waitress to take the rest away to enjoy later but she never packed it to takeaway which was a real shame. This cake situation was a slight let down as we didn't get what we bargained for. Overall our dining experience was good and would go back for a special occasion

Love the food- amazing quality and very filling. Lots of vegetarian options- try the pugliese pizza without the anchovies. Favourite desserts- tiramisu and tortine.

Hmmm early Father's Day dinner at NSP. We were a table of 6. Food was lovely calamari and potato croquettes, for entree but we had finished by the time the second plate of croquettes came. Mains were we had ravioli, gnocchi, and one pizza. Dessert rhubarb Apple pear pastry and chocolate fondant all good. Lots of new staff all lovely but we came away just a little disappointed 😏

As it was just before noon, but not really lunchtime, I went in to see if there's a quick snack or a good cuppa. I ended up having the Italian hot chocolate and boy it was indulgent! The froth was smooth and creamy and its transition to rich chocolate was like silk over your palette. Seriously, I could wax poetry about it. However, if you were looking for something with a strong/dark chocolate flavour then maybe this isn't the best choice:D<br/>

Best Italian Restaurant in the city ! Great for Romantic Dinner, Friends Dinner Out or with colleagues. A place to impress 😎<br/>I have been several times in Non Solo Pizza and always is good.! 😍👍<br/>Best Pizzas for sure 🍕 My favourite Prosciutto crudo e rucola. Beautiful courtyard for summer, and the restaurant inside is beautiful (although can feel a bit cramped when busy). Service is great and portion sizes are huge. The duck pappardelle and the meatballs are absolutely beautiful and what I get almost every time.
Food Adventures With AnnaJ
Had a girls night at Non Solo and the place looks amazing as you walk in. The inside restuarant is beautiful, softly lit and great decor. The italian menu had extensive options for pizza and pasta, as well as a nice wine selection. We shared two pizzas, a simple buffalo mozzarella, tomato and bazil and a prusechtto, pamersan and mushroom. The bases on the pizzas were really yummy but both lacked sauce and the tomato pizza got very soggy. I also like my pizza cheesy which neither were. We were still a bit peckish after the pizza so instead of dessert we had brushetta and breadsticks with dip. Both were good and topped us up perfectly. Service was prompt and wait staff were continuously topping up our water but our waitress didnt seem to have much idea of the menu and couldnt answer some of our questions. While the pizzas were on the pricy side spilt between 4 the bill was reasonable. As a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur I wont be returning to Non Solo as the thing I was most looking forward to was rather disappointing.

I've been returning to Non Solo Pizza for years on end now - with family, friends and the latest occasion with my girlfriend. The service and quality of food is spot on every single time - if you're looking for a true Italian pizza, with authentic Italian ingredients, this is it. The pastas have generous portions and are seasoned perfectly, and a highlight must be their florentina steak; worth a visit alone. Beautifully decorated and a very classy ambience - perfect spot for a date night.

Yay!!!! I ordered a pizza around 11AM this morning for my partner who LEFT HIS LUNCH ON THE BENCH AT HOME. NB: HE IS REALLY PICKY AND HE IS SUCH A BRAT SOMETIMES 😜.<br/><br/>Anyway, he's been behaving, so I looked on Zomato for some nicely reviewed and rated Italian/pizza places and stumbled upon Non Solo Pizza! The menu made my mouth water. I ordered the medditeraneo for his lunch. His break was at 1PM and Non Solo Pizza is conveniently close by so he picked it up around 1.10PM.<br/><br/>HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY. WE ARE GOING BACK THERE FOR DINNER SOME TIME TO ROLL AROUND IN PIZZA AND ITALIAN GOODNESS.

A good place for boutique type pizzas. The ambience is good. The waiting staff need to be more receptive. Overall, the experience is good. Will be back.

I've been to NSP a few times and have a couple of favourite dishes. I'm particularly fond of the carpaccio with pesto - excellent! But it seems every time I go there, there's something that bugs me - one time someone with a really snitty attitude on the phone; another time a seafood soup that was tasteless and almost cold; a friend's birthday where people leaving late were apparently charged for items that had already been paid for by guests who left earlier (this also reported by others on another occasion but I wasn't there so can't comment). But the last time I was there is probably the last time. 3 of us attended on an average-busy night and the service was very slow, with about 10 minutes before anyone attended the table and another 10 before any water arrived (after serious prompting). Entrée was a shared meat platter for $18.50 a head. So I was rather taken aback to be delivered 1 pc mortadella, 2 pcs prosciutto, about 8 pcs salami, 2 bread sticks and some pesto and olives. This is $55.50??? I made a comment to the waitress, who commented to the waiter, who commented to the (I think) major d'omo, who commented to the (I think) Shift Manager...... by that time I was over it. Like I said, I've previously mostly enjoyed the food at NSP but maybe it's time they re-evaluated what they're offering - perhaps a refresher on attitude, invoicing and costs. One last thing - while others seem to like the little bar out front, it's ghastly  to wade through a gaggle of old Remmers grotesques who reek of cigarette smoke and have lost their way from Iguacu.

I first went to NSP 3 years ago only for drinks. Came back this Friday and heard good things about this place, what a disappointment! My friends and I ordered a prociutto i funghi pizza to share as well as meatballs and mushrooms. Meatballs were good but the pizza was undercooked and tasteless. Sent the pizza back but the second one wasn't better, slightly more cooked but still very blend. One more thing, when you call a pizza prosciutto i funghi, you expect prosciutto, not regular ham, at least that's what you get in every other pizzeria. Won't be back.

We dined here last night. The ambience was great on a Friday night and the food was great. I ordered the ravioli and it was beautiful but only 5 pieces. I normally order entree size so I'm glad I didn't. Just be aware of small servings when ordering. My boyfriend ordered a pizza and this was also really good.

Mixed feelings! So the service is slow, prepare yourself for having to wait a long time for food. Atmosphere is nice and we got a very nice seat next to the fire place in the court yard. For main I had the duck ragu pasta and didn't like it..had Arincini for Entree and was very nice! Overall was an ok experience but we won't be back.

A Definite Must!!!<br/>We had a booking for the restaurant, however with traffic in Auckland, meetings were cancelled so we visited Non Solo earlier than initially planned. There was a lovely buzz at the entrance to the restaurant. A small space called Bar Vivo. We cancelled our table and decided to have a light meal and a few glasses of wine at this little bar. Service was impeccable and the Pizza was excellent. The atmosphere, friendly service with I might add a great suggestive seller was a treat. Well done to the team and the lovely young lady who served us. Compliments to the Chef as well

March 2016: came for lunch hadn't been for a while (mainly because they had changed their menu but it's changed again to my favourites!! So will be going more often again 🙌🏻) ordered the monk fish fish which was with a very tasty tomato olive garlic and caper broth! Monk fish wasn't that's that's great but tomato broth was superb! But my absolute favourite is always the tender tomato olive caper eggplant side dish! Super good extremely flavoured! Also got a taste away tiramisu as was in a rush which was also amazing! Staff were super helpful and friendly as we were in a hurry and got or meals out very quick!<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Lovely restaurant with many options a little commercialised sometimes feels as though they're not cooking with passion. However meals are often still very tasty I always go for the fish which is often snapper accompanied by a ratatouille assortment of delicious veg an pesto. The tiramisu here is also a must however I think they could do with a high quality chocolate sauce an pieces on top as it ruins the tiramisu slightly. Also I recommend for any restaurant serving a chocolate dessert or tiramisu please serve with some fresh berries (if available strawberries work wonders) or frozen raspberries it really does compliment the flavours amazingly!

Service is attentive, the dinning area is beautiful.<br/>Food is excellent and the wine list is quite impressive and gives options to all budgets.

We liked Non Solo Pizza and would go back there if we got the chance.
Lisa
Went there for a work function with my colleagues. The food was great! Though the bread starter could have broken teeth as it was so hard, nethertheless, food was great. <br/><br/>The only downside is that some of the servers came across as quite rude, slamming food down on the glass table and muttering to us rather than speaking. I suppose they may have been quite stressed out as the evening was quite busy.
Andy Underwood
Booked a table here for my partners birthday and was delighted with the venue, service and quality of the food. The main indoor restaurant is such an unexpected surprise after stepping through the reception area- and the fast service during a busy Friday evening makes NSP a definite favourite of ours!
Eli A
Went there on NYE. The evening didn't start off well. We ordered Pane for starters thinking I will get to try some different breads. Instead we were served a plate with three cold chunks of ciabatta by an equally cold server. I had to ask for it to be warmed up. When it came back it was toasted not warmed. But the server we next spoke with to say that was disappointing was very understanding and happily replaced the starter with our next choice - pane pizza. It was Ok, nothing to write home about. But the mains we had - lasagne and a pork loin special were both very good. The Italian server was very helpful - he gave us good wine recommendations and advice. All in all I was happy with the food, but not sure I will be back.

This is fine food in Parnell. I came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience.<br/><br/>Started with the oysters and tomato bruschetta. The oysters were fresh and succulent, and the bruschetta was beautiful and a perfect serving/sharing size.<br/><br/>The main event was the pizza. We had the ALLA CAPRICCIOSA (salami and olives) and the PROSCIUTTO CRUDO E RUCOL (cured ham and Parmesan). The prosciutto pizza was to die for: a well-flavoured and crispy base with generous toppings of prosciutto, mushroom and Parmesan. Was one of the best pizzas I've had in recent months, the flavours and toppings just worked together perfectly. The salami pizza was good though it didn't impress as much.<br/><br/>The service was great but be sure to make a booking as we were told they may "not" be able to squeeze you in (even though the restaurant was less than half full today).
Bella Lily
This is a beautiful resturant that has the ability to suit any occasion. The outdoor courtyard is gorgeous, with a roof that opens inviting in sunshine when nessasary then closes to keep in warmth on a chilly night. The food is never disappointing. I recommend the meatballs, calamari and the steak. The staff are well trained, attentive and always pleasant. Without a doubt one of my favorite restaurants in Auckland.
Jazz Wilson
Amazing food and wine! Ammaaazing food. Such attentive service and awesome ambience. Great dining areas and also separate bar areas for whatever mood your in
Thefoodloverrr
Loved the ambience and the setting. The food is quite expensive. However the pasta and pizza we had were really good. The cocktails were good too.

I visited Non Solo Pizza on Friday for a lunch with my Mum from a recommendation from Verdo Nails, while visiting Auckland, WOW!! We were so impressed, the most amazing decor inside and out, particularly the outside courtyard just creates a very unique experience, its a gorgeous rustic italian/mediterranean feel, quite different to anything else i have experienced, and i frequent restaurants regularly, beautiful running fountains, roaring gas fires, just lovely the food was amazing, we did not know how much to order for lunch, but the portions are a great size, we could not eat all of ours. I cant wait to go back!! My only gripe would be the cost of wine by the glass $13-14 for a Pinot Gris i thought was expensive, would be nice if they could have a house wine to give patrons the option of a more affordable wine, just didnt want to make us have 2 - but we did!!
Steve
On first entry, the decor is impressive and this is obviously considered a place to be (or maybe to be seen). The service started poorly when we were told that we could have a table but we'd only have an hour to eat. At 5.15pm on a Thursday when the eating area was practically empty. Maybe something to do with having our five year old and nine year old with us. Our dark corner was very private, so considerate of them to put us so far from everyone else. The waitresses were polite and smiled, but didn't stand out. Our nice table glasses were whisked away when we asked for tap water and replaced with cheap tumblers. <br/><br/>The menu is exciting, but alas the food does not live up to the expectation it creates. My chicken ravioli was bland and the pasta under cooked. By contrast the sauce tried to make up for the bland ravioli by over compensating and was far to fiddly and busy. A true Italian would laugh at it I'm sure. My daughters pizza was just not cooked in the middle. My wife's gnocchi was average at best. The best dish was the child's meatballs which were really tasty.<br/><br/>We were hurried through within the hour (strangely there were still loads of spare tables left when we got up to leave) yet once we were out of our seats somehow it wasn't as urgent to take our payment. Finally the Maitre'd decided to grace us with a few minutes of her time and made a very pointed comment about how to add a tip on the eftpos machine. We did not.<br/><br/>This was a very disappointing experience and we felt like we were looked down on and barely tolerated from the start. It certainly does not match the reputation it has and I would not go back.
Lisa Borrie
Great place for lunch. The most delicious caesar salad and calamari. lovely outdoor seating in good weather, friendly staff.<br/>Good value for money and a great selection of food on the menu... something for everyone. We go quite often.
Peppermint
We went on Saturday night, pizza was good, angus scotch and lamb ramp were very average. Our waitress was lovely, efficient and she always had great smile on her face. But the Maitre’d was an unhappy lady. No smile at all, not even when we hand over the cash.
Wanderlust
Less than 2 years ago I gave this restaurant a out of 2/5, mainly due to the appalling staff attitude towards the patrons. However I have been back twice since then and can say it is all much improved. <br/><br/>The food is brilliant, the antipasto platter is brilliant, and the fresh pasta is perfect. The pizzas are similar to what you would find in Italy. We cocktails are divine. We did not wait long for our meals or service. <br/><br/>The service was professional, warm and helpful. However unfortunately my requests from the booking to the actual day did not get communicated to staff which was a shame. But the evening was lovely.

I went here for lunch last week, met by the friendly Maitre-D and sat at a gorgeous table in the courtyard. Our waiter was Italian and very friendly and informative.<br/>We started off with some olives and a glass of pinot gris.<br/>I had the rocket salad which was a good size and good price matched with the rabbit ragu taggliatale pasta..once again very good size.<br/>Our water was constantly topped up,clean busy place, loved the selection of music they were playing too.
Liz Winstone
Yummy dish that I had at the taste of Auckland festival in Victoria Park market last week. <br/><br/>From NonSolo Pizza, I had the "Burritina - Organic milk mozzarella with a creamy heart served with eggplant leaves, fresh tomate macedonia, basil and almond pesto"<br/><br/>It was extremely tasty :)
Food Tester Number 6
Walk-in customer on a what was appeared to be a reasonably busy Friday night. Greeted (?) by the maitre-de with a look of disdain. Was told we would have to wait 15-20 minutes for a table (no worries with that). I mentioned we would wait out the front part of the restaurant, and was told that we were to come and check in 15-20 minutes. It would have been nice if they had offered to let us know when the table was ready.<br/><br/>The meal was decent, but not amazing. Good, but not the best pizza in Parnell/Newmarket area. Bite sized fish fillets were a highlight. Cauliflower fritters were slightly lacklustre. Wine was good, but priced to the setting. The waiter was attentive yet not overbearing. <br/><br/>On our exit we waited at the counter for a good five minutes while our friend the maitre de did her best to ignore us. She slapped down a bill in front of us without even looking at us. Wrong bill sorry love. She followed this up with a snarky comment about the tip option on the point of sale machine. If I'd known it was going to the waiter I would have happily tipped, but lining this dragon's pockets was the last of my needs. <br/><br/>To the lady that tainted our night - we might be younger than your normal clientele, but we still pay with the same cash, and that cash pays your wage. I don't expect you to be my best friend, but I do ask for common courtesy. If you're a waiter reading this, the maitre de is costing you tips. If you're the owner, she's costing you patrons. <br/><br/>For clarification, there were two maitre de's/hosts on duty that evening. The shorter one who appeared to be of asian descent was the one with an attitude issue, the other seemed quite accommodating (from a distance). Looking at other reviews through this (apart from 1 review Dave), it seems I'm not the only one with an issue with this person. Over to you, NSP.

Heard good things about this place so went in looking forward to a lovely evening. Unfortunately right from the get-go this wasn't to be. We arrived and waited to be seated by someone. Many staff members passed by but no one even smiled or acknowledged us. Finally the maitre'd came over and was incredibly rude and had this horribly snobbish attitude going on. <br/><br/>After we were seated, the waiter was equally as rude. The service the entire night was like this. The menu is not easy to read if you don't speak or read Italian. <br/><br/>Our food took around 45mins to arrive and when it did, I had to pick my jaw off the floor. There is next to nothing on my plate. So I was expecting it to be insanely tasty at least... Was disappointed again. The food had no flavour and I couldn't believe they were charging these outrageous prices for something that was plain crap. <br/><br/>Safe to say I won't be coming back and will be telling friends and family to avoid this dump like the plague. The only positive I can add is that the decor is very nice. Both the bar and the restaurant look beautiful and feel very classy. Unfortunately the service and food are simply terrible.

Wow, what a great night! Went to NSP on Sunday night.<br/>The Maitre'd was gorgeous, well dressed and elegant. Professional and super friendly. Actually all the staff were well groomed, ties, aprons and crisp white shirts... nice. <br/>Our waitress was friendly and helpful, my pizza was delicious and my partner's ravioli was to die for. The wine recommendations from the maitre'd were delicious. And the coffee was superb. Really can't understand why this place would ever get a less than favourable review. <br/>Loved it! We will definitely be back. Thanks NSP keep it up.
Catrina
The pizza was delicious and our waitress was very friendly. It is definitely not a cheap place, but worth to pay for such an authentic pizza! Grazie
Karl
Had visited on a number of occasions, but less frequent as both service and food quality have gone downhill.<br/><br/>What broke the camel’s back was the food last night, my wife’s meal arrived cold and we told them to get it right, my meal arrived, a Pizza (normally steaming hot), only just warm to eat. My wife’s meal came back still not hot. <br/><br/>Sorry, we are not coming back, get your service sorted.
Ian
Visited as it was on our long " to do tick list". Underwhelmed by the pizza. Overpriced wine
Melanie Vermont
Early dinner pre a movie , very accommodating when we said we had a movie booked ,efficient professional service - contorni (?sp) was really delicious , yum pumpkin , we shared the T Bone - amazing. We will be back.

The food was amazing but the service was a massive let down. The maitre was was rude an never smiled. The wine waiter was rude an invasive. We were made to feel as though we were making to much noise and that we were being badly behaved! (I was laughing and taking photos of my kids and husband). As soon as my husband paid the 300$ bill the maitre came to our table an basically told us to leave and made an offensive remark about children !!! Although the food was beautiful I'd much rather go to the restaurant next door to eat (where we were the previous night) where the food is delicious and the service is friendly, welcoming and a very pleasant experience unlike the awful service at NSP!
Moniquea Frear
Great atmosphere - particularly outside with the lovely summer nights! We had the calamari to start, which was beautiful. The pizza was great and partner had the lamb which was rather small, but so tasty!
Diiya McCaw
Pretentious, unsatisfying. Too much hype that food does not live up to. Options and different tastes should be catered to. Very disappointed fro our night out. don't take the good reviews too seriously...step up and have good honest food.

What a fantastic experience we had last night. We were greeted with a big smile, taken to our table inside in no time. The place was full due to it being Valentines day and a little loud perhaps due to many excited dinners. Special thanks goes to Nichol, an absolutely wonderful and friendly staff member who looked after us from start to finish. She suggested a few meals from the menu and we ordered that. Very delicious, snapper fish was so yumm and share the chocolato for desert a must try. The entrée portions were a little large, so Nichol our host suggested if we too full, they can hold the mains for a little longer while we continue with our drinks, glad we waited else we wouldn't have finished our mains. Very nice and filling meals. Overall a great pure Italian restaurant to visit weather it be with friends or with that very special one great ambiance and lightling. Thank you Non Solo for making our evening a very memorable one. "I'll Be Back"

I called NSP at 4pm for a 7:30pm booking and specifically requested an outdoor table for 2. Walked in on time bang on time, the place was buzzing so thought a bit of a wait might be in order - no waiting, was seated at the table I had earlier specified.<br/><br/>The service was from our authentic Italian waiter Cristiano was outstanding. He was very quick to take our drinks order and gave a suitable amount of time to decide on entree and mains. When we requested an entree to share for the 2 of us he kindly pointed out it would be too big and suggested something more suitable. When my partner ordered a main size pasta he explained the size differences between entree and main size. I'm glad we ordered the entree size as the portions were very generous. The home made pasta was incredible and that's coming from a non pasta fan.<br/><br/>I will definitely visit again. Thank you for a great night out.

I cannot figure out how NSP can fit in the top 50 Auckland restaurants with its out of date and loud interior and quite overpriced food (yesterday one pizza marinara and two beers for forty seven dollars)
Daniel M
Went here for a catch up with some friends great atmosphere although the table was way to large to talk to everyone but that is not a biggy. <br/>The food was very nice, the pasta main size is very small, but the pizzas were good.<br/>The tap beer at $10.50 is just way over the top also and house wine at $10 per glass. <br/>The staff however I found to be very pushy we wanted to talk after eating and basically if you aren't eating get out was the vibe we all got. I wouldn't recommend the place just off how we were treated plus I feel I have eaten at Italian places in Auckland that had a much more authentic taste and much much better prices!
Brian Rose
Held my birthday party at NSP On 11/8/12 and had a great night. The whole experience was excellent and all of my guests were very impressed. I found the whole team at NSP to be very professional and nothing was a problem, food excellent and I will be recommending NSP whenever I can.<br/>Brian R

After a bad experience with a parma pizza 2 years ago, I thought we would give it another go. Disappointed again. The only thing going for NSP is that it's crowded bar wise, which gives it an buzzing atmosphere. Ordered the linguine marinara - only 3(?) tiny bits of seafood. Honestly the worst I have ever had. Huge rip off. Vin Santo for dessert had stale biscotti. Huge disappointment. Gave it a 2nd chance and failed miserably.
Catherine Ellis
Great food and service as always and so love the courtyard. Ice Queen Maitre d could do with chilling out a bit. Not a fan but the rest of your staff are the usual high standard -:)
Jamini Pulyadath
Simply wow! Had such a lovely Sunday lunch at NSP. The host was great - polite and friendly. The food was divine! . Shared a platter of bread together with entres like the duck prosciutto, beef carpaccio, artichoke hearts, chargrilled pumpkin, chargrilled eggplant and the tiger prawns. We enjoyed every one of the dishes - well presented and flavoursome. Had lamb shanks on polenta for main and it did not disappoint. The wine selection was nice too. Had a trio of ice-creams for dessert - tried the rasperry sorbet and passionfruit gelato - both were stunning....the chocolate one was average though. Overall, we paid around $80 per person but it was totally worth it! Had to skip dinner, as the lunch was so filling. Will surely go back to NSP again.
Diana Melrose
Went to Non Solo Pizza last night for a dinner with my partner. What a delightful experience! The hostess was charming and professional, we were greeted with a genuine smile and taken to a table straight away. <br/>The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing and authentic!<br/>We will definitely be back!
Goran
I have been going to this restaurant since it opened in the late 90s and it was always the place that makes you feel like in Italy... <br/>Yes it has its ups and downs but consistency is the hardest thing to achieve in a restaurant and few can make it. Those who can make it are Michelin star restaurants, charging accordingly.<br/>Anyway had lunch yesterday with my wife and it just happen to be one of those perfect days. Weather was warm. Service was great, pizza is still definitely the best in town and Peroni on tap just made it perfect. Finished it off with a real Espresso and a tip for the staff. Hope they stay around for a long time. Classics are always hard to beat...
Kate
Made to wait 25mins for our table which was ok as the barman was brilliant the rest of the staff were ok but nothing to rave about. The entrees came out quite quickly and were average however mains took there time the main size ravioli was a joke and the fish pasta dishes were disgusting to say the least! We will not be back.
John Robson
Great ambience, but such a shame about the dreadful service, shabby menus and food that really was poor value for money. <br/><br/>Very expensive wine list which is ok for fine dining, but more economical options would be good to have with pizzas.<br/><br/>We will definitely not be recommending this place - quite the opposite!
Louise Connell
Overpriced. I had the worst pizza I have ever had at this restaurant. Dominos pizza makes them better and for 1/4 of the price. This is the 3rd time I have been there and found the food horrible. A few years ago I loved this place and went often. Now I will never go back. I don't know what has gone wrong. maybe new ownership??
Alex
We have been here as group. All of us are very disappointed with the food. My Fritto misto di pesce was very soggy and badly presented.<br/>Also our waitress was very rude. <br/>Sure none of us come back here.
Marie
Last weekend we decide to go to NSP at parnell rd I've been here five time at least. As a Italian food lover I highly recommend NSP as one of the few good Italian restaurant around the city. Is a Gorgeous place with terrace, bar area, restaurant and bar vino. The service is always good as my experience and at least constant. Food for me one of the best Italian options. Crunchy Pizza and al dente pasta! Try the traditional tiramisu with a aromatic espresso. Yummy!
Angela
Awful experience. The staff were rude and cold. We were ignored for 10 minutes upon arrival. We were then told to wait for five minutes at the bar. That five minutes turned into 40 minutes of waiting whilst being past a dozen times by various staff. Not at all impressed especially since the restaurant was not very busy. I won't be going back...EVER
Sam
Average food. Paid $30 for about five pieces of ravioli. The pesto linguini was tasteless. They charged me for sparkling water and calamari, neither of which we had, and were rude about refunding. We were surrounded by Patrick Batemans.
Greg Deuchar
Very impressed with the food and service was excellent. I had the oysters for entree and duck for the main, both very nice. My partner had pizza for her main and the croquettes for the entree which she believe could have done with some sauce or something to compliment the entree. We will definitely be coming back and recommending to all.
Pedro Brash
I love this place!<br/><br/>Brilliant atmosphere, delicious food, great wine selection. I take out of town clients here as it always impresses them.<br/><br/>The food is authentic and flavoursome. During summer, the courtyard is brilliant for a romantic dinner (which I've done numerous times). Quite expensive, but what the hell! You've got to enjoy yourself occasionally.<br/><br/>Definitely recommend!
Nick Hanvey
We went here the day after our wedding for a celebratory dinner. The booking was easy via email and when we went in a couple of hours early to see if we could change the time they were happy to accommodate us, despite being fully booked and just making the Metro top 50.<br/><br/>We had a drink in the bar which was great and then were seated in the best table in the house, and served complimentary bubbly to say congratulations.<br/><br/>A fantastic start!<br/><br/>Our waiter was prompt and frankly fantastic (i am sure he enjoyed the tip and was well worth it!)<br/><br/>He was happy to suggest great Italian wines with every course. For starters we had the snapper in lemon juice and olive oil and the meatballs. Both were excellent and complimented with our Montepulciano.<br/><br/>mains we had to share were chicken ravioli and a pork and fennel pasta dish. Both again complimented by an excellent Chianti and topped off with a tiramisu and dessert wine. <br/><br/>The attention to detail, great service and personalised attention made this a fantastic night, even the small things like providing us with plates and serving spoons as we were sharing.<br/><br/>We will be back for sure!!!!!!!
Frances-Rose Ross
Long time coming back and wish they had another restaurant in Hamilton instead of on Waiheke. Calamari still the wife's favourite although forgot about the Seafood selection which included prawns and the teenager still rates the Margarita Pizza worth the $50.00 petrol bill. Be back for the next birthday or hopefully before
Hamish
Great ambiance - pitty about the food. Everything was well below average in our opinion. From the calamari to the pizza, it was all very bland, not to mention expensive. In the two years we have been back in Auckland this rates as probably the worst place we have dined at.
Lucy
A great lunch venue.<br/>The tapas is well done, the meat selection is frankly delicious and the service efficient and friendly. The venue itself is lovely, with a warm atmosphere and pleasant ambience.<br/>Fantastic wine selection
M
A very pleasant atmosphere. The pizza was very average. I can make better myself. <br/><br/>Service was lousy - intrusive and aloof. At $25 per pizza you would expect a little more.
Angela
I had dinner here one weekday evening and was unimpressed with this restaurant. Though I had been there in the last year for drinks I hadn't eaten there for more than 5 years. I would discourage others from bothering as there are better value quality restaurants in Auckland. The pizza was average and the caprese salad extremely overpriced.
Pavee
This is one of those places where everytime you go your impressed &amp; cant complain. Good pizza &amp; great service
Fenella Stratton
I have been here many times over the years and used to really love this place however on a recent visit to NSP we were left feeling very disappointed by the whole experience. <br/><br/>From the minute we sat down inside the restaurant the wait staff were exceptionally rude, they did not special the table and they managed to continually forget drinks orders that they had taken from members of our dining party resulting in us going up to the bar ourselves to get drinks. <br/><br/>The food was very average and bland. <br/><br/>I wont be hurrying back anytime soon.
Gerard Ward
NSP is one of those places you come back to again and again. The food is amazing. I've tried most of the pizzas and they are delicious. The wagyu beef is also fantastic. And their wine list is extensive with a good mix of NZ and Italian vinos. The staff are friendly and not in-your-face. Well worth a visit.
Amanda @ Move Love Eat
I have very mixed opinions about this restaurant. I was really looking forward to trying the food after having a look at the menu. We were booked here for a work function where we were told that dinner would be served at 7pm. It was around 8pm by the time we ended up getting any food and that was just the first round of entrees - we ended up having two hours of entrees as the main pizza's were served around 9pm! Waiting so long for the food leaves a bad taste in your mouth. It could well be that it took so long as we were such a big group and most people were drinking a lot so were having a good time without the food. Either way I'd be hesitant to go back based on this experience even though the food was pretty good. I was very impressed with the bathroom, it is very nice! For entrees we had breads, dips and meats which were quite nice but we were all holding back a little bit knowing that we would be getting pizzas later so didn't want to fill up too much. The next round of entrees were a whole lot of vegetables, mushrooms, capsicums and pumpkin - the pumpkin and mushrooms were quite nice, I can't comment on the capsicum as I don't eat them. After that there was a round of calimari (I don't eat it) and by this point we were wondering if we were actually getting pizza or just nibbles - I believe someone asked one of the wait staff. By the time we finally received the pizza we were completely over waiting, the ones I tried were a bit too gourmet for me and the toppings just fell off them although I did really enjoy the base. Of the ones I tried the basic vegetarian one with tomato and cheese was the one I liked the most as it wasn't as dry as the others and the fillings didn't fall off. <br/><br/>A pity I didn't enjoy my experience here as from what I've heard the food is usually pretty good. Given the price of the food I don't think I'll be back any time soon to give it a second chance to be honest given how many other food places there are in parnell to try.
Two Dark Coffees
I'd heard a lot about Toto's sister restaurant Non Solo Pizza in Parnell, so you could say my expectations were set high from the get go. <br/><br/>Walking past the street-facing bar towards the main restaurant, the smell of authentic Italian cuisine filled the air. The restaurant's garden was decorated with twinkling lights and creeping vines - a spot only fully appreciated at night. <br/><br/>Put simply, the service was very good. The waitress's did their job without being overly intrusive and were very helpful when it came to interpreting a few things on the menu. <br/><br/>To start, our table ordered a 'pane', which was a selection of breads with a dipping olive oil and balsamic vinegar mix. The fresh breads weren't too fulling and it was a nice start to the night. <br/><br/>For my main I had the 'Contadina' pizza which had pumpkin, pancetta, buffalo mozzarella, and Italian parsley on it. It was a very reasonable size but the pumpkin became cold pretty quickly, so it wasn't great towards the end. I had a slice of my friend's Mediterranean pizza which had Italian bacon on it, and that turned out to be the better choice. Unfortunately one of my friends ordered the 'Gnocchi' and was not pleased. Unless you're a fan of Gnocchi, I wouldn't recommend it at all. I had a mouthful. The taste was bland (although it was meant to taste of beetroot) and the texture could only be best described between the three of us as 'soggy.'<br/><br/>All was redeemed when the desserts arrived in front of us. We ordered the White Chocolate Cheesecake with Berry Compote, the Chocolate Ganache and the selection of home-made gelato and sorbet. My favorite: The Pineapple sorbet in the home-made selection. The White Chocolate Cheesecake was absolutely mouth watering, and the Chocolate Ganache would probably be the heaviest dessert we tried, but worth every spoonful. <br/><br/>I wouldn't say I'm in a rush to go back, but it provided a relaxing and feel good night.
