Review Provedor - Auckland Central

A great place to get some beers with friends a meet a lot of people. On Wednesday the beer is $4 so perfect to party. The music can be much better.

Great little student/backpacker bar. Happy hour is very cheap with a good selection of drinks. Food is basic but cheap (NZ$10 for a 9 inch pizza or beef nachos). Great value for money.

We love coming here! It’s the perfect stop for the beercycle

The place is really cool, the cocktails are a bit expensive (18$), but the fries are quite cheap (5$). The mojito is really good.

Great view of the harbor, happy hour is good value, and they also offer alcohol free options. Friendly, helpful staff.

Cheap drink at happy hour! Busy with good atmosphere. Music tends to be a little too loud which makes convos harder.

Literally the bar101 for non first years. It’s worth the price (free) and when it’s not plagued with creepy old men it’s not too bad. It would be better if they didn’t play the entire song from start to finish but beggars can’t be choosers (literally) and also why are you playing crazy frog we left that in like 2011

Tuesday ticket 5 beer for $10

Awesome spot to gather with friends, have a good beer and keep warm in the cold nights. Every Tuesday, you can enjoy the Tuesday Backpackers. If you’re staying at a backpackers you get a sweet “8 pints for 10 bucks” offer and can choose from 4 different kinds. Drink with a view!

Great location, awesome atmosphere, great prices! $5 specials until 7pm. Definitely the place to drink on the wharf!

Was walking down the Viaduct and decided this could be a great place to have a Sunday beer and a meal whilst over looking the ocean. I went to the front and as I approached I got a sigh from the bartender like how dare I bother her from whatever was so important on her phone. I asked for a beer and the response was literally “ID”, no please, nothing. No problem though, I gave her my ID and joked “Do I really look under 18?” in an extremely rude tone the response I got was “You look young enough to need ID”, she started pouring my beer, suddenly she takes one more look at me and says “No actually you will not be getting any service today” and kind of throws my beer aggressively across the counter behind the bar and stormed off. I didn’t know if she was joking or what I did wrong. When she came back from wherever she stormed off to, I asked why I wouldn’t be getting service, I was told that I knew what I did, I told her I had no idea what happened and I honestly didn’t, as we only had a very short interaction. I asked again “I really don’t know. Are you having a bad day? What did I do?” Only to be told once more that I knew what I did and would not be getting service in an extremely aggressive manner. I’m not sure if she confused me with someone she knew or if she thought I didn’t look the same as I did in my ID or if she thought my comment questioning her on my age came across as rude, but It wasn’t even worth continuing the discussion with such disgusting behaviour. I’m sure things could have been explained in a more reasonable manner and cleared up very quickly. I will not be coming back here again and if I could give the place under 1 star I would. Do not recommend. Plenty of other bars/pubs around with the same beer and probably much better food.

Came here for drinks. Cocktail list is not extensive but serves its purpose. Drinks took a while to come out but were good. Great place to sit and talk as the atmosphere is a bit sedate, but overall not too bad.

This is the first place I went to in Auckland. Haven't explored much food really, they have quite a lot of options for shots. But its the ambiance and the location that really works for me. The staff is friendly and the service is quick...What else would one ask for on a Saturday night... maybe something to nibble. . there aren't much options though.

The song selection is really nice. Cocktails like LIIT could have been stronger as compared to what they cost. Really good ambience and vibes. But they need to add more varieties for quick bites. Went here last night and they didn't have anything to eat at all. That was disappointing.

Hey new manager of Provedor. While I’m sure that you’re very proud of your new hard earned title of being a bar manager, I’m not quite certain where you learned your management skills, or your customer service skills. <br/><br/>My friends and I were all ID’ed at the door (that’s what your bouncer is paid to do, just a note in case you weren’t aware, being a manager and all...) so it was grossly unnecessarily and rather quite rude for you to ask for our IDs again upon ordering our SECOND drink and being at the bar for about 45 minutes already. Perhaps place your “management skills” (or just some common sense skills) to better use on the rowdy drunk patrons ordering shots and not my friends and I with beers and a glass of wine... <br/><br/>Will not be returning again although I have to note that all the other staff were quite lovely—hence the 2 stars. <br/><br/>P.S: Ran into a staff member outside promoting for the bar after my friends and I decided that our money was better spent elsewhere. Perhaps if the new Provedor manager wasn’t scaring customers away, then staff would be spending their time pouring drinks and not outside promoting. Just some food for thought.

As a poor student this place caters to ones needs perfectly, cheap beer and a good ratio of seating and standing/dancing areas. Good for starting your night. <br/><br/>Also appreciation shoutout to the mirror in the ladies bathroom, probably the best I've come across, really allows you readjust properly, its the little things ya know.

I'm not a clubbing person. This place is perfect, I can sit, talk, and eat while my friends dance. Try the nachos! Awesome. The price is perfectly Ok!

Got dragged here by mates, I've never really been a fan of this place and this latest visit maintains that. Service/ambience is standard, we had a pretty average night of beers and tried the beef nachos which seemed ok but at the same time any half decent food seems ok if you're a bit boozed.

Hadn't been to Provedor for years, but decided to stop in for a few drinks after dinner.<br/>Service was really friendly & engaging. There were lots of options for seating & a good dance floor. Drinks are quite reasonably priced compared to many bars in the area

If you are looking for a fancy place please skip this one and move to other bars around the warf. This place is an ultimate steal. Selected drinks ( wine, beer, whiskey) for $5 from 3pm-7pm. There are regulars that you may spot here grabbing a quick one with colleagues after work. <br/>Been going here for almost two years, they do BBQ on Fridays and it's for free thank God for that otherwise people will be getting sloshed more often. Their Beef nachos are a Hit as well - must try.

Nothing spectacular here, venue and menu very basic and is more of a place to meet  up for a drink after work (or meet a blind  date) and/or  watch the box or listen to some music  than to have a feed, <br/>Had the nachos there..

Great location and cheap drinks is what Provedor is all about. If you are a student, wednesday nights here should be your thing. They have happy hours on Friday which is the longest in the city (you can grab drinks from 3 in the afternoon). The staff is friendly and the music is very retro. Overall, a great place to be.

Lovely bar to sit outdoors and enjoy a cold refreshing drink or wine. Lovely view as it overlooks the viaduct. This place gets pretty rowdy at night but in the day it's a laid back bar. Ive never tried their bar food so cant rate it. Seems that most people come here for drinks not food. <br/><br/>They have happy hour on a Saturday between 3 to 7pm. Selected drinks at $5! The happy hour red wine is really smooth and fruity. Beers include tap and bottled beers such as Heineken. Good selection for the price👍

Provedor is just a place to have a beer, listen to some music and have some fun with friends. Just don't about listening to several musical styles in a roll, go there for the party.<br/><br/>Everything there is cheap as can be, it is really well located, and the staff is really, really friendly.

A small but popular bar at the waterfront. Plays old skool rock n pop..nice place to unwind on weekends. For a more quiter evening go on a weekday n njoy few drinks.
