I absolutely LOVE Mont! I have been coming here regularly for over a year and I have to say not only do they have the best coffee in Mt Eden, but also the best service! Every time we pop by, we are greeted with a smile. I highly recommend not only their cabinet food, but also the dine in menu too. Both are delicious, and make for a great brunch/lunch with friends or even on your own!

Impromptu brunch on a Saturday. Very small cafe, limited seating. Parking is out the front on a busy road. I was on the opposite side and just found a park on a side street. Suggested as they have white, milk and dark hot choc. Ordered the dark hot choc, it was average. Ordered big brekkie and that was good. Love quality ingredients used. The overnight oats tasted good and the portion was large. It would be good to share between two if you do not have a large appetite. Atmosphere was cute and comfy. Very busy this cafe. Pricey treat.

This cafe has such pretty food that I just wanted to look at it and not eat it! I did enjoy a lovely breakfast muffin and tea. There is a lot of handy parking outside and it has good mobility access and seating for 22 people inside. They have great tasty food, coffee and tea, plus they sell coffee beans. Plenty of efficient staff so no waiting. I’m definitely coming back to sample their lovely sweet cakes etc.

After trying best ugly bagels, coffee club and numerous other cafes we "stumbled" upon Cafe Mont on ubereats. We love Best Ugly Bagels and when we saw Cafe Mont using them, that was a deal breaker😄 Both the dishes we ordered for our breakfast was super delicious. It not only had avo for veg and eggs bene on bagel but had layers of roasted vegetables, salad leaves and yummy relish, aioli and the eggs bene hollandaise sauce was expectional. The almond croissant was crispy and yummy too. Coffee was spot on that came with the bagel combo. We will be ordering from here again no doubt. Highly recommend them. Thank you Team Cafe Mont for giving us splendid meals 😍😍

Absolutely in love with this adorable cafe, finally another cafe that's opened til late with an amazing variety of cabinet treats and decent drink selection :) Service and food were 10/10, definitely would recommend the Hazelnut banana cake (trust me on this one) and the lime and pistachio cake, but the raw raspberry coconut cheesecake was surprisingly my favorite in the end. A shout out to the outstanding service from Justin, Cafe Mont is sure to become the busiest cafe in Mt Eden soon enough.

I come here relatively often. The coffees are good. Haven't tried the desserts but I assume they're delicious. However, I ordered the most expensive breakfast item they had and was disappointed. It was mostly bland. especially the egg. I didn't even eat half the bread. The salsa in the burger was tasty but there was very little of it.

This place is fine - nothing remarkable but I don't think I'd return. The only notable/annoying thing is that they charge 50 cents more for double shot coffees - so the advertised price is for single shots, which seems abnormal. My small flat white was $3.50 and it was nice, and the service was polite and fast (although they did deliver a takeaway coffee when I'd ordered it to have at the cafe). The food looked quite good, but it seemed expensive (e.g. $17 for avocado on toast).

Wow! This little gem of a cafe has outdone itself! Been here twice now and both times been overwhelmed with the food quality and service. The cafe workers are always smiling and willing to go the extra mile for you! The breakfast muffin was divine - loved the tomato chutney in it! The raspberry muffins are always so soft and fresh, and my partner LOVED his smoothie! It’s very surprising that such a small & tucked away cafe can have so much charm. Can’t seem to go wrong here. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

It may just be that I went there too late - after 3 on a Saturday - but this cafe didn't take my fancy. It is mini, mini, mini and the only cabinet food on offer was savoury - mostly croissants 🥐 or filled tortilla wraps 🥙. On the up side, it is open late in the afternoon and was a good place for working.

Meals, cakes and coffees here are great. The coffees are consistent, can always rely on a well made coffee. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere has a very comfortable feel. Only downside is that they're not open Sundays.

This place has bomb food presentation, everything from the food to the cutlery to the napkins is so aesthetically pleasing. The New York cheesecake was delicious, and their smoothie definitely helped my hangover. Only downfall is, for some reason when I went, the staff were super unfriendly and frustrating. Would either stare at me, come to my table every two minutes asking for my order when I’m clearly reading the menu still etc. but that’s small details. Loved the place regardless!

I always love a new opening and so popped into Cafe Mont today. I was a bit disappointed to miss out on their famous doughnuts - have to get there earlier next time - but sampled their strawberry tart which was delicious. The cafe is small but cute with lots of tasty offerings! I will definitely be back to try the doughnuts!

Small little cafe at the top of Mt Eden Road sits Cafe Mont. I really wished we had food from the cabinet instead of the menu. The donuts and cakes looked really good. The cafe food menu was nothing spectacular. Similar to your average cafe food. What I did like about it was the different ingredients they put into the salads. The hints of capers and pickles were a nice touch. My friend got the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was a little too thick but the eggs were nicely poached. My "champagne baked ham" on potato Mille-feuille was an overstatement on the menu. There was hardly any ham on it. Just small little slithers on the top. They really should name it like that if there is hardly any on it. It's almost like serving Eggs Benedict with half an egg.

This cake is more of a rich chocolate flavor, garnished with creamy goodness and a light helping of berry jam. This was the dryer cake of what I had, but still not crumbly dry by any means! Chocolate peanut butter cake Absolutely wonderful. I have quite the obsession with chocolate and peanut butter, and combined into a cake this was perfect. TBH when I ordered it I was worried it would be dry, but it wasn't at all! I didn't like the cookie much it was a bit too sweet and kind of miss higgins-esque. Overall though, would purchase again to satisfy cravings 👌 Raw berry cheesecake Had to try this as I love raw cakes but am terrible at making them myself (with my hopeless $18 blender lol). When I tried it rather late at night, it was a little too warm to hold its shape and texture well so it kind of melted? It would have been better a little more chilled 🤔 Flavor-wise, it could have been a little sweeter, and some seeds or texture within the berry/cheesecake layers would be nice! In general, I probably would pick one of the normal cakes over raw cakes here

Came here for a visit for morning tea, and this cafe is super tiny, only a few tables to fit a small number of people. However, let me tell you that Cafe Mont's blueberry cheesecake is bomb! I could tell it was freshly made and the crumbed layer at the bottom was really nice. Their coffee was average, there wasn't much of a crema on the cappuccino (it wasn't smooth and creamy, more liquidy), and it wasn't hot enough. Would be keen to try more of their cakes though!

Cute little cafe in the old Mt Eden shops closest to the City. Interior is light & bright with indoor & outdoor seating. Ordered a coffee & a white chocolate & raspberry muffin. The muffin was slightly heated, really fresh & soft. Lots of raspberries throughout. Coffee was well made.

Went to Cafe Mont for afternoon tea and ordered a blueberry cheesecake and hot chocolate. I was here quite late in the afternoon and it looked quite empty when I came in. The staff were nice and friendly and the ambience was lovely. I enjoyed the blueberry cheesecake both in its presentation and the flavour. It can come off as quite sweet. The hot chocolate in my opinion was watery and lukewarm and I didn't enjoy it as much. However, it could be because the cafe was closing soon. I would love to come back here again and try some of their other sweet treats! Gave it a 3.5 overall.

Cozy space with great coffee. We only had cakes, a raw cheesecake and a spiced apple cake with was so meltingly delicious. The food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing though so will be back for that. Service was friendly and very helpful

Awesome eggs benedict. Go for the morrocan sauteed vege option. Homemade hollandise with a twist and a slight chilli kick. Highly recommended!! Coffee was good, but prefer mine a bit stronger.

a very well designed cozy little cafe. the food presentation is very nice but the portion is very small. the food is just ok. The dessert however, was very very good. We had the Lime and pistachio cake as well as the Banana and Hazelnut. Would come again but only for dessert. Also, the music was great. Stevie wonder to Norah Jones to James Brown.

I read about café mont and really wanted to try it out. With high expectations I entered the café and was surprised how small it was. I somehow expected a bigger place. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was lucky and got a table to myself. I ordered my regular soy latte and the coconut waffles. The coffee was great and just a couples of minutes after my order the waffle already arrived. I was surprised how quick they came to the table and after the first bite, my suspicion got confirmed. Instead of a freshly baked warm waffle I got a pre-made one, at least it felt like it. It was try and chewy. What a disappointment. However the taste was nicely coconutty as well as the presentation of the food looked amazing, mine and the ones on the table next to me. And the cabinet food! Even though it didn't blow me away this time, I will go again and give it another try. One thing I don't want to miss mentioning is the cutlery :) I just fell in love with it ;)

Always passed by on the way to uni and only had the chance to visit it today! It was pretty busy when we went at around 1pm, so we were seated by the window on the bar seat. Naturally, I was drawn to their cakes in the cabinet, so naturally, I got the blueberry cheesecake and their lime & pistachio cake. Both tasted amazing, cheesecake was creamy and the Anzac biscuit base was crunchy. The lime & pistachio cake was a bit on the dry side, it would have been heavenly if it was more moist. But the crunchy pistachios in the cake and the citrusy flavours of the pudding in the layers compensated for me--I prefer the cake over the cheesecake for a nice mixture between sweet and sour. My friend got the Salmon Bagels, which the poached egg came with a really odd and rubbery texture, and the portion of salmon was a bit small, there were more tomatoes than salmon. Flavour wise not that exciting either, would recommend something else from their menu. Service was average, the girl wasn't exactly the most cheerful person. Interior is nice though.

Cute little cafe hidden in Mt Eden. Nice people with pretty sweet service. Food was 👌🏼on point, probably could've done with less sourdough on my plate but serving size was about right! Poached eggs were cooked to perfection which is always a goood way to start the day! Quality food and delicious cooking plated well as art! Cheers for a nice brunch!

The Sweet Tooth Fairy

Lives up to their label of most beautiful desserts. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookie was a chocolate mousse-like filling sandwiched between two moist chocolate cake discs, topped with more mousse-like filling, a layer of sweet peanut butter on top and then covered with a chocolate ganache drizzle and sprinkled on with a generous amount of roasted hazelnuts. (The other was the Lemon and Rasperry Cake). The cafe can be a little hard to find as it's located on the main road of Mt Eden Road, way before the main Mt Eden strip. Environment was very cozy, warm and clean, and staff was very friendly. The cafe also offers a wide range of hot and cold drinks, and also a food menu. I'm really looking forward to many more visits there! Thank you for a lovely first visit!
