Had a small birthday dinner here in downstairs private section. Busy spot however still a nice ambient feel inside 😊 Good, kind and attentive customer service - staff done really well under pressure as it was a busy Thursday night. Food was good + portion size & price. Surf & turf in particular was yummy and mussels. The steak chips were bomb!!! Photos don't show how amazing they are.. Ribs probably won't order again. 👌 keen to go back and try other things on menu

Great atmosphere! The food is always on point especially their Pizzas. They make the best cocktails. Excellent service from the staff. They ways come clear the tables when they see we are done with our meals. There are lots of seating options indoor for a nice quite dinning and outdoor with music playing or just watching a sports game. Weekends tend to get very busy. Great location and plenty of parking as it is right next to the Manukau Westfield Mall.

A salute my love this place! Especially coming here for a nice lunch or evening dinner. Prices in my opinion are slightly high but I’ll have to admit, it’s really worth it. Portion sizes are perfect as well. If I had to recommend one meal, it would have to be the crispy chicken burger! Close runner-up would be any of the pizzas they have too

I don’t know how was under the old management, but this new management is making this place looks amazing. We had dinner last Saturday because we purchased the offer from GrabOne. We ordered a large shared plate and pizza. It came quickly and was superb! Staff is friendly and always ready to assist us. It looks great inside, beer was in perfect temperature and kids enjoyed a lot too. Worth a visit!

The staff here are always attentive when we go there ready with a menu..This is the place we like to go spoil ourselves. The food is real good..And the jug of beer is even great.. There's a waitress there that always serves us when we go in she is an absolute angel i love and enjoy her hospitality. And the new manager I assume who's always ready to greet people make them feel comfortable at the same time doing everything else to ensure things are running smoothly. I highly recommend this place no doubt!

Usually love the vibe here. Good drinks, food and atmosphere. However, recently stopped in for a few drinks after a long day Xmas shopping. To be specific, on Saturday 10 Dec 2022 around 4pm. So you can pin point who this duty manager is. On this day, I was served by the lovely female bartenders. The Asian bartender, made the best cocktails. Honestly, the best👌🏽 So I return to get the same cocktail, but she was busy, so the duty manager made the cocktail I asked for. He made it completely different. And added Lemonade to "water down" if you will, the cocktail. Lemonade is not an ingredient in the cocktail. I asked him why does this taste different to the cocktail I just had? He said, what's wrong with it? I said it has Lemonade in it. At this point, he throws a big tantrum, and gathers all the bartenders and growls all of them for not adding Lemonade in my cocktail, in front of me. How unprofessional! I said it doesn't have Lemonade in the ingredients. He growls me, and says what do you want in it then? I said, what it says on the menu. He says and what juice? I said the one on the menu. Mango juice. He says we don't have mango juice🥴 So he gives pineapple and cranberry. I apologized to the girl because I didn't mean to get them in trouble and I honestly felt so bad for them. You got caught trying to change the ingredients in my drink and tried to blame it on your staff. How bloody unprofessional. Take accountability. And then to scold your customer for asking for the drink they paid for? That's my money!!! I spent on that drink. You don't go changing the menu to suit your pockets!

Stopped by for dinner before a movie. Didn't have to wait long after entering before I was able to get a table. The bar is on one side while the dining area is on the other. After getting menus I ordered a starter and a main. The starter came out first and once that was finished I got the mains. The calamari was nice and crispy but thought it was a bit too salty. The ribs were ok. The ribs tasted mostly of the sauce so the coleslaw and wedges that came with it made the meal more enjoyable to give different textures and flavours. Portions for both were decent. I wasn't too rushed with the meal even though I had a movie to go to. The waitresses were friendly and made the meal more enjoyable.

Found a meal that accommodated all my dietary requirements. Great venue with outdoor seating. Generous on topping on pizza! Returned a side order and staff were very open to constructive feedback, they gave us a refund and investigated the inquiry! Very satisfied with service & food! 😊

It's big with 2 floors seating area with plenty of outside seating for evening. Enjoy beer here and they have huge burgers.

Had fun drinking and catching up with my girl friend. Drinks so affordable and you can request whats out-of-the-drinks-menu.

Went here with colleagues for after work drinks and food. Chose this place because of zomato discount. However was very disappointed to be told they they do not honor the zomato discount as they are under new ownership. This is very misleading as zomato still shows this place as offering 20% discount.

We went and tried this place for their reasonable priced platter. We were blown away! Everything on the platter was so good and super filling. We were stuffed after eating & still had leftovers to take home. Would recommend to anyone!<br/>I specifically loved the calamari, chicken tenders & their fries were also unbelievably good!

Let's start off with the staff. . . Right from our entrance, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The seating was well spaced.<br/>The waiter was awesome in getting orders taken, making sure we knew what was in our food. The wait time for our food was really fast and absolutely delish!<br/>Will definitely be returning

I had a nice experience here with a few of my work mates. We ordered a lot of things but was a bit disappointed in the ribs the sauce tasted a bit weird and was a bit to saucy for my liking. Only thing I would like to see for next time is the waiter knowing more about the dishes that this restaurant is serving. Would come here for the mango cocktail again cause I did enjoy that a lot

I had the stake meal from here a bit pricey but it was yum also my work colleagues had the burger and chips and other food.. was ok and the place was suitable for us catchup over food and drinks

This place is always very hit and miss. The food is usually really nice but I tried it again tonight and got an entree that was cold around the outsides and piping hot in the middle. The service is consistently terrible - one waitress took so long to deliver my coffee it was cold by the time it got to me and then tried to charge me for another when I asked for a hot one. If you can get them on a good night you’ll be stoked with great food and awesome service but get them on a bad night and you’ll wish you stayed home. So ya know. If you like a gamble give it a shot I guess.

Wanted to have a drink to celebrate our anniversary and ended up almost in tears over the Zomato Gold Privilege. <br/><br/>I showed the Trip Unlocked Screen to the bartender and he refused to honor the Zomato Gold 2+2 Drinks despite me showing him the T&Cs of the 2+2. <br/><br/>Only gave me two options of either house wine or beer for the complimentary drink, despite the clear Zomato Gold T&C staying that it must be the same drink that I’ve paid for. <br/><br/>And instead of giving me two complimentary drinks, he insisted on just giving me one beer. <br/><br/>I instantly talked to a Zomato Gold Customer Support and explained our situation and the Customer Support confirmed that I was right. I showed the conversation to the Bartender and he said he’s following instructions from his boss and he can’t do anything about it and he won’t honor the Zomato Gold 2+2 Drinks. <br/><br/>Not to be a negative person but this is bordering on False/Misleading Advertisement by advertising that they do Zomato Gold 2+2 Drinks Privilege but then refused to honor it after we paid. <br/><br/>Attn to all Zomato Gold Members, please make sure that they do not do the same to you guys too.

Food was great, but everything felt rushed although we (partner and I) were there 2 hours before kitchen closed at 9pm. We ordered dinner with cocktails and was still half way with the drinks when the waiter asked if we were done with our drinks and we said no and ordered another. Not even half way through the second he rushed and asked us to pay our bills already. “We were not DONE”<br/><br/>But.. ok <br/><br/>We got out, because it felt like we weren’t welcomed. <br/><br/>The drinks were bomb but service could be better.

Dined here for quite a number of times. Always ordered their crispy chicken burger and Republic tower burger.<br/><br/>I am particularly obsessed with their crispy chicken burger. The burger was crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The fried chicken was crispy on the skin, juicy and tender inside, the striky bacon was very crispy too thus enhancing the texture of the whole burger. The accompanying corn fritters were super delicious, going awesomely well with the melted mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, avocado and lettuce. The chilli aioli acted as a booster in enriching the flavour of all the ingredients stuffed in the burger. A must try when you patronise this restaurant!<br/><br/>Will certainly be back again for the crispy chicken burger.<br/><br/>Food & Beverage : 8/10<br/>Service : 7/10<br/>Price : 6/10<br/>Ambience : 7/10<br/>

Food here was amazing. Portion size are very generous. The calamari is so good! Best chicken salad I have ever had. Garlic bread was so tasty and buttery. We also ordered the lamb with risotto and carbonara. Cheap cocktails on their VIP Thursdays which was a total bonus. Everyone was beyond satisfied.

Amazing service, food came out fast and fresh. Ordered crispy chicken burger and chicken fettuccine. The burger was big enough to feed 2 people and the filling was delicious. Chicken fettuccine had the right ratio of sauce, chicken and bacon.<br/>Reasonably priced and decent size meals.<br/>Would definitely come back to eat here.

Went To manukau for a movie and saw this bar. Nice open bar with comfortable seating arrangements. <br/>Had beer and curly fries and it was yummy. Staffs are pretty friendly and had a great time over dr. <br/>Kudos

Pub/Bar style eatery out southside of Manukau and as i'm not a big cheese eater had the chook fettuccine minus the bacon and was indeed cheesey with the rite seasoning too, pretty pricey too at 24$ but was here for tea too. Ambience is to a dim/low lighting for those wanting a romantic theme.<br/>May come here later to try the grills next in area.

Enjoyed our calamari and pizza with drinks outside and happen to meet Joseph Parker who was also chilling with his friends. Great vibes from the servers. Awesome atmosphere to chill out with great company.

Came to this place for a brunch catch up with my niece and sister. Located outside the mall, there is lots of car parking. As per the opening hours on zomato we arrived at 11 45 am and was told it was closed. We had to wait 15 mins which isn't a long time but not ideal when you have a toddler.<br/><br/>There was chair and tables set up outside so we just sat there and waited. Once we had our menus we made our orders relatively fast. My niece had:Chicken Nuggets and Chips (she was stoked with her order). My sister had a Chicken Salad. It had lots of dressing and she said she would go back just for the salad.<br/><br/>I ordered a Steak, Eggs and Chips Meal with Mushroom Sauce. For $28 didn't seem worth it. The steak was cooked to perfection but the eggs weren't properly cooked and the Mushroom sauce was bland. Iced Mocha was ok.<br/><br/>Overall it was an okay experience. I live out West so I wouldn't drive South just for this.

So I’ve been here a few times now, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming in terms of the people and staff. However the set up of the place is a bit dated and not very inviting. The food can be really good or really bad, there’s no consistency, so it’s a bit of a gamble, looks can be deceiving when comes to the food. It can looks amazing but tastes horrible. So if your a bit of a risk taker then give it a go!

I went here for an anniversary dinner and setting wise for a nice dinner was ok considering it is also a bar as well. We were out the back so I was ok. Food was good and have no complaints about it. When t started to play louder music the ambience probably wasn't the best for the type of dinner we wanted to have. But still nice good food and good service as well.

Been here a few times and the food is always on point. Decent sized portions. Bar is nice with a dance floor and dj. We booked leaders outsize and recieved free platters which I thought was really nice.

A lunch at Republic in Manukau. Turf & Surf included 200 gm sirloin, crumbed scallops, potatoes & veggies. Beef was terribly tough & with only a couple of scallops, Turf & Surf was a bit overpriced. Battered fish & chips were fairly good. <br/>(Food - 2.5/5; Service - 3.5/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)

Awful service, noisy environment and subpar food. We ordered the mussels and lamb shanks. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Its not worth it.

Friday night, after work drinks and dinner.<br/>Unfortunately I dont have much to say. The drinks were nice. From the tap. Chilled. The food that deserves love and hardwork was pretty basic. <br/><br/>Started off with chips and aioli. Very substandard to say the least. I mean a bar should be getting their chips right. The ones that I got were chunky soggy off the deep freezer, fried chips. Let down to my chilled cider. Moving on to the fried chicken wings. The skin was fabulous. But it just ended there. The chicken was bland. Not even seasoned enough. No flavor. <br/><br/>Not much to say.<br/>Pricewise: $60 for two<br/>Returns: Nah, Ill pass

Quite busy on a early Thursday evening at 5.45pm today. The in house and outside DJ music are a bit loud as theres two different loads of music playing the same time but that does not bother us. Food was superb and l requested melted cheese with my burger and was excellent as my friend ordered the baked chicken which was really nice too. Not forgotten the service, can't ask for more, great friendly service from the two waitress tonight even check our table like twice asking how's our meals, also when we paid the bill. Will definitely be back.

Had dinner here with friends last Sunday night before movie as it was onw of the few places open. There is a decent pub menu reasonably priced. The food was served quickly and was good pub food big portions too. I has a nice lamb salad and himself had a decent burger . the staff are friensly but once fed it was hard to get their attention for another round of drinks . we would pop in again

I have been here six times now, and have always had prompt service, and great food. <br/>My favourite on their menu is the cranberry chicken and brie pizza. Not sure I've ever seen the menu for dessert but will definitely ask when I go back. Probably not the 'go to' place for anyone who is looking for gluten free or vegan food, because you won't find it here.<br/>I particularly love their happy hour for cocktails too. Yum yum yummy!

I had dinner and drinks here with friends on a Friday night, my partner order the sirloin steak which looked like something you could just whip up in your own kitchen small portion for price the plate came out like it was dropped on the ground. I had beef pasta which tasted like mince and tomatoe sauce with pasta which I didn't touch and took it home for my dogs which didn't even want to eat it either only thing that was good was the pizza and the service

Great vibe & super friendly staff! Had a waitress offer us a tasting of a cider before we ordered a glass of it just in case we didn't like it which was great. Food was pretty good - the ribs are tasty but get a bit sickly sweet by the end of the meal and the wedges they come with are really good - nice and crispy! Portion sizes are pretty decent too.

23/12/16. Called in to make a booking for two due to busy time of the year. Staff are very welcoming, though I must make a comment about the lighting inside, it was dark where we were seated and it was only 1pm, asked to move which was fine. Food was super and delicious and All staff member we have come across was a trouper. Keep up the good work. Great event for function checking out the layout. Will come back again.

Not the best option if you are Gluten Free. No GF bread, burger buns or pizza bases. Three options to choose from which are nachos, fish and chicken salad. Good friendly service. Nachos were nice.

I have come here a few times. The food is ok.<br/>Good portion sizes. I would recommend getting the meals that take longer to cook over their fast meals like pizza.<br/><br/>Rekorderlig cider comes in a lovely glass. My favourite flavour is the strawberry and lime. <br/><br/>Calamari salad was plentiful but very dry because the calamari was in slivers and became way to dry when deep fried. <br/>The food used to be much better here.

The ribs are amazing! My daughter is addicted to them now and to the Sticky date pudding! :) The service is fantastic.... couldn't fault them for one second. Very helpful and and friendly staff... and they have been right about every food/drink recommendation they have given us! :) we keep coming back. Thank you :)

We were very impressed with our first visit because of the excellent server/waiter and his superb service. We have been again several times but unfortunately the service has been lacklustre each time. We had to get the menus ourselves a couple of times and the attentiveness or lack of by the other staff was just not impressive at all. They also didn't give any bag for our takeaway containers - not once but twice. As for the food, the entrees are good especially the calamari and pizza breads but do not order the chicken wings as they are bland, with a strong fowl taste. Had the pasta for mains and it was swimming in oil so could not finish it.

Ah, the favourite Manukau haunt for local office workers. I have had one too many drinks here since I moved to Auckland in 2014. When my partner and I moved closer to work last year, we chose to visit The Republic a few times. Their service is friendly and prompt, and their meals are large and hearty. I think one of the biggest things that I missed from Australia was 'the local pub' - this fine establishment more than adequately fulfils this market gap in this area. Don't try and kid yourself - that is what they're aiming for with their food. They're not pretending to be a fancy restaurant; they serve large hearty meals, that will leave you feeling full. Try their Chicken Parmigiana, which is large with a good quantity of cheese and sauce.<br/><br/>Use the Entertainment Card, where you can get one main meal for free when another of equal or higher value is purchased.

We were in the area and decided to try this place out. Upon arrival we were greeted immediately and seated. The guy was friendly and definitely made the experience a great one. He was very patient and easy going and cracked a good joke or five. The portion sizes were huge! You definitely pay for what you get. The serving platter had a good variety of food. We even got a free celebratory drink on the house! Great service and good food. Highly recommend.

Food isn't as great as you would expect it to be. Was abit disappointed when we tried the food. The presentation of it was fine but when it came to eating it the kebabs were abit dry and the buffalo wings had thick sauce but no taste to it. However the cocktails were good so that was a good thing. The service there was pretty slow, the staff were asking if we would like to order when we hadn't even opened our menus, and when we did want to order no one would come to our table so we had to call someone and tell them that we would like to order. We had to wait for quite a while for our food too and when it did come they gave us something else instead of what we ordered then we had to wait for that. Will recommend this place only for drinks, but then again even that took a while. The service is just too slow, and the food isn't what you'd be expecting.

Have been here several times before for drinks, lunch, dinner - it's a good spot on the outside of the Mall. There is seating inside & out giving you different options & different chairs (high, low, couches).<br/>Today I visited with a friend for lunch. We were warmly greeted & decided to sit outside.<br/>Drinks order was taken - I chose the sparkling rose on the waitresses recommendation. It was very nice. My friend ordered a cider which it turned out they had sold out of. He chose a different cider & the waitress brought this out with a shot of passionfruit to add to it which was a very nice & thoughtful touch.<br/>Unfortunately from there things were a bit hit & miss. They weren't overly busy, but our meals took quite a while - we had to end up asking where they were in the end after around 25 mins? <br/>I have ordered the lamb & couscous salad many times before & chose this again today. They ask you how you want the lamb & I always choose medium. Unfortunately it was more well done, but was still nice & tender with a nice coating on the outside. The couscous salad is tasty especially considering that couscous has no taste. It would be nice to add something else to it though - maybe almonds or pomegranate seeds for texture & a bit of 'zing.'<br/>The fish burger was a special of the day. The portion was quite decent, but again a little hit & miss with this dish. My friend found that the batter was way to thick to then add to a burger. A thinner batter or just pan-frying it would have worked better. It would also have benefited from some capers or a more intense tartare - this may have cut through the heavy batter & bun. Not an awful dish, but just not quite there.<br/>Will be back, but will try some other dishes next time. I have had the other salads & pizzas - quite tasty & value for money.

My friends and I ate here this evening and were disappointed.  It took quite a long time for someone to take our orders, we had to ask for water, the food was very average.  One of us had chicken kebabs and they were dry and very overcooked.  I ordered Lemon Cream Cake for dessert - very uninteresting and far too solid.

Had Dinner there few weeks ago. Food was great along with friendly customer service. Environment was great will defiantly dine in again. :)

The go-to bar/restaurant whenever i'm in South Auckland. It's in a very convenient location. Staff are very friendly and service was relatively fast. It can get quite busy in the weekends which means you have to wait in line for quite awhile to get a drink. The food is good, not that great for its price though.

Relaxing place for lunch, order the calamari portion is way to big for me ( I should order entrees than main portion lol) great food the manukau burger look really yummy as well but thanks god my partner ordered not me coz the portion is big as well and reasonable price

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: the weather was wet and wild tonight but we managed to find a window table in this generously sized restaurant. Even though it felt like a sports bar, it featured some tasteful furnishings including a funky large lightshade at the entrance. <br/><br/>FOOD: we opted for some bar food and had a bowl of fries and pepperoni pizza. Both were underwhelming and tasted like typical pub fare. Definitely room to spruce up these offerings. <br/><br/>COFFEE: a tad milky, but otherwise pleasant to drink. <br/><br/>SERVICE: attentive with waiters consistency popping over to check up on us. Kudos to the male waiter for happily taking a group photo of us. <br/><br/>The space felt airy and inviting, but the food erred on the average side.

Average loved the cocktails tho, workers were lovely and genuine, food was average and nothing out of the norm but overall a good place to go for a good feed and a drink

I'm Maria Foys friend who came with her before Magic Mike - I was greeted as soon as I entered by a lovely lady and directed to the bar to wait for Maria. <br/> The wedges were delicious and the cocktail was amazing - I especially likes the price of the cocktail (HAPPY HOUR)  They had a quiz night on so we sat outside where they had heaps of heater so it was comfy - will def go back for a full meal soon!<br/><br/>Service was good :)

Came here before seeing Magic Mike (ooooh yes), and a friend and I ordered a drink from the bar and some wedges.  I got a small bottle of bubbly, and my friend ordered a cocktail.  When asked 'what do you recommend' to the barman, he said 'I work here all the time and wouldn't know which one to recommend' ... not exactly those words, but along those lines.  Basically meaning he didn't know which one to recommend.  It was said to my friend, and not me, but I thought the answer was a bit weird.  Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves.  It was a Tuesday night, so quiz night, so we sat outside by the nice warm heaters and had a nice drink.

We had our Xmas function here last year - we had platters of nibbles and pizzas - SO yummy!Then I met up with a couple of ladies for dinner /drinks before our movie.Majority of us ordered the chicken burger with fries $23.The burger looked good but then when you remove the top bun the chicken fillet was smaller than the bun and the salad was soggy. You can see they kept the burgers in the warmer for some time. The serving of fries was too small and over cooked. just stick to the nibbles and pizzas.

Seriously bad service. Been here a few times and all times service was bad. Today was the most frustrating. Walked in, ordered drinks and asked for a few menus. The guy at the bar said sure i'll get them to you. 15 mins later we're still waiting for menus, the bar tender has forgotten and is having a nice long chat to someone. I finally went back to the bar and after waiting around for a good 5 mins, saw a waitress and told her what happened so id like menus asap. Then she couldn't find menus and grabbed a laminated bar mat menu and handed it to me. It was wet. <br/><br/>Then we waited another 20 mins for someone to come take our order. The waitress was too busy flirting with some guy. The guy looked like a manager. Whether he was a manager there or somewhere else, i have no idea. <br/><br/>Next, the plates we get given were all majorly chipped. They were also dirty. One of the plates had dirty finger prints and some sort of flour and seasoning all over it. The others were just gross with greasy stains. <br/><br/>They need to pay more attention to their standard of service and get their game together.

Friday night without a reservation is a nightmare. After being turned away from a couple of restos, we were able to secure a table here and we're really happy because we were so hungry. <br/><br/>My hubby had the chicken parmigiana juicy tasty and very good. I had a taste of it. I had the battered fish and chips. It was light crispy and cooked well. They were much too generous with chips. <br/><br/>Thanks for the good food. Service wasn't bad either.

My partner and I come here often. The food is Devine ! It's also a great place to come and enjoy each other's company with drinks and shosha in the outside area with padio heaters if needed ..

I like Republic, although it can be a little expensive and there isn't many cheaper eats choices on the menu. Would have been great to see an express lunch menu<br/><br/>The ripped and stained fabric on some of the seats is a little bit off putting, but it is still good and convenient, the service is very good although the advertising with the music videos does get annoying, you start to enjoy the video and then it cuts to a beer ad<br/><br/>A good place to go for a beer, but not really for something to eat

By far the best tuna steak I ever had in Auckland! We came for a casual Sunday brunch but we got instead the best food experience! Portions are big and tasty! Great omelette as well!

Wanted a convenient late lunch after a movie last week and had an Entertainment Book coupon for Republic. I wasn't expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. Even at 3 in the afternoon the place had a nice vibe with lots people drinking and dining but it wasn't raucous and intrusive. Even when the Warriors game came on it was still very easy to chat.<br/><br/>The service was friendly and efficient and the server's timing was on point for every aspect of the meal.<br/><br/>The food is a slight step up from pub grub and done very well. I got the pork ribs which came with wedges and a side of coleslaw. This might sound really boring and pedestrian but was simple and delicious. The wedges were the pre-frozen catering type with a tasty coating (ie not homemade, handcut potatoes) but I have no objection to that in a bar/restaurant type place. You know how sometimes you get wedges and some are stuck together and some are a bit stodgy and floppy and you only end up eating a few? Well, every single one of the wedges was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and, despite there being a rather large pile of them, I ate every single one. The ribs were truly good. The meat was falling off the bone and had just the right amount of barbecue sauce. The coleslaw came in a ramekin and my only whinge was that there wasn't enough of it, because it was extremely tasty. I liked that it didn't seem like a token thing to add to the plate, but tasted like it was made with care. The cabbage was shredded consistently and the dressing was lovely and vinegary and savoury. I wish I'd asked what was in the dressing (yes, it was THAT good).<br/><br/>My iced coffee was made just the way I like it - not sickly sweet.<br/><br/>A great place for a casual meal. Pub food made with real care.<br/><br/><br/>

The place is only good for its drinks nothing else.<br/><br/>The food is really blend.<br/><br/>We had to be asked to be served every time we needed something. Staff are not friendly.<br/><br/>We received something we didn't even order even after returning it we got charged for it lucky enough we checked our bill.<br/><br/>I used to love this place but after my recent visit I would never return<br/><br/>

I love the food at Republic. My favourite meal is the Quesadilla. However, the service started wonderful, but quickly went downhill. Our waitress started out friendly and chatty, but towards the end of our meal she seemed stressed and curt. We sat outdoors for out meal, but I noticed that the table wasn't clean and was covered in drink stains, and the rest of the outdoor area was quite dirty. One of the seats had a rip in the upholstery. The only reason I come here is when I am craving a Quesadilla. Otherwise I will go elsewhere.

When i called to make a reservation, the girl on the phone was very un proffesional and didnt seem to know how to answer any of my questions. She didnt even ask for my name for the booking.<br/>When my friend and i finally got to the resturaunt the "door man" was very rude. He demanded ID even though we clearly stated that we were only going to be dinning and we dont drink. He wasnt nice about this at all and made us feel uncomfortable. So we said we would rather spend our money else where now. Very dissapointed in the service before even actually dinning her. Wouldnt recommend the place to anyone.

Firstly, I had my engagement party here and although we'd emailed arrangements about food, seating and space allocation the booking manager FAILED to communicate to the rest of the staff. We were left to quickly organise and book the venue on the day we flew in to Auckland. The food here is great, which is why we booked this space to have our Auckland engagement party, having only just returned from living overseas, it was the best place we could think of in the part of Auckland where a majority of our friends and family live. I think they make some of the best pizzas in Manukau, the bar staff are usually friendly and helpful. The nook and atrium are great spaces to have functions. It's definitely an awesome dining space as you are NOT shouting at your friends to be heard, the food comes out quickly and it's well plated.

I have eaten at Republic Bar twice now.<br/><br/>The first time for lunch, and I had a chicken salad which was really nice. Everything tasted fresh and lots of flavour. A little on the expensive side, but work was paying, so it was all good. <br/><br/>The second time my family and I went for brunch on Sunday.<br/>My partner and I shared an omelet, and french toast.<br/>Both meals were great, really filling, and really tasty.<br/><br/>I would definitely go back.

We usually all have a lovley meal here and they have been fairly consistant with quality of product and the preparation. Last night then was very disapointing the pork belly was awful, the crackling was soft and rubbery and the meat was hidden by such a lot of fat it had obviously been cooked very quickly so the fat had not rendered down to the normal succulent juicyness it normally is. The eye fillet was also quite tough, which was surprising. The hapuka on the other hand was lovely. But we wont be rushing back here.

I am a new diner to the Manukau area but due to visiting a friend in Karaka my wife and I thought we would call into Republic on the way home. Being a Tuesday the quiz was all go and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. <br/>I had the Lamb salad which I enjoyed and my wife had the chicken burger (which I had half of) and it was fantastic.<br/>Great casual food done well. We will be back when next in the area

Republic is a nice way to finish a night after a movie, using the movie and meal deal combo.<br/>The pizzas are delicious, however staff could do with better knowledge of their menu, when it comes to steak etc.<br/>The portions were well sized and the food rather tasty.<br/>Great place for groups, but if dinning in, choose a night where there isn't a big rugby game on.<br/>Will be visiting more during the World Cup.<br/>Thanks Republic

I have been let down by Republic - we used to enjoy breakfasts there on a Sunday but the food was never consistent, some weekends you would have normal toast, other weekends just small pieces of bread not even big enough to put your egg on.<br/><br/>Pizzas and Garlic bread used to be fantastic, rather expensive but worth the price paid, had dinner there one night before a movie and I was completely let down by the service and the pizza I ordered hardly had any toppings on it for the $24.00 you pay, you expect to have loads of yummy toppings but this has barely any.<br/><br/>from my 2 bad experiences I have not been back to dine in since. Very disappointing

Basic food and drink. Not too great not too bland. Service is standard. One waitress looked like she doesnt want to be there. She had no interest in taking our orders. Customer is (often) king, right?
