Delicious gelato!!! Would highly recommend and it's nice that it's pretty close to the beach -- you can have a great view. Disappointed that there were no waffles available, the staff were lovely and very apologetic. The brownie with hazelnut icecream I got instead was still very delicious and a very sweet treat. Soft and warm and delightfully chewy. The actual place is pretty small though, so good if you want to take away to sit on the grass or sit with a friend/date.

Best Gelato around and it's in a great location to enjoy it. I just had a dairy free chocolate sorbet shake with a shot of coffee and almond milk - SO GOOD! The shot was their suggestion, and I am glad they recommended it because it was delicious :)

What a great find - gelato and coffee! A big selection of ice cream flavours - very yummy. Coffee good too. Situated across the road from bay - great way to enjoy your purchases - sitting on grass with gorgeous water view. There is some seating available inside and out.

Always very friendly, beautiful vibe and awesome to see the innovation of the architectural firm in the back of the shop, I love the flow. It’s a very open, honest and clean feel and smart service and the coffee is great!! Yet to try the gelato.

A place for all of the family on warm and hot days. The Gelato they sell is amazing and the best in the area. The coffee is of a high standard. Good seating if not busy... but the beach and seating across the road can solve all seating issues unless it is raining

No trip to Browns Bay is complete before stopping at GingerSnap. This place might have limited seating but the ice cream is what you really are after. Delicious flavours which you can try first, and great portion sizes this place doesn't disappoint. The consistent friendly service brings us back every time. Love this place.

Great little combined eatery, coffee shop and Gelato Icecream Parlor.
They have ample parking outside and around the area.
Limited seating arrangements, but you can walk over towards the beach area and there is park benches to sit on.
Coffee is great and a good Affigato is served here.
The very best Gelato Icecream on the North Shore and the servings are huge. We tested different flavors and ended up having a Chocolate Sorbet (Super Chocolate Flavour) and a Passion Fruit Sorbet, very intense flavors. The different certificates on the walls is testament to the prizes won with the Gelato Icecream.
Highly recommended to future customers and the staff are very friendly.
We will be back.

I've also discovered that this is not just an ice cream outlet - they serve superb coffee and other light meals as well - right on the beach front!

The service was very friendly, informing and happy to help. The dairy free choices included chocolate which is a refreshing change from the usual lemon, plum and passionfruit (which they have also). Great place for a coffee or gelato and sit in the sun under cover.

Took my kids here again (they are becoming Gelato connoisseurs)as they always choose it as their fave treat. The gelato is lovely and dense and strong flavours. They always have a medium, but a small is plenty big enough for me...try the choc raspberry. Yum.

Gingersnap is fantastic for vegans. They have so many different vegan options for sorbets, smoothies and cafe style food like muffins. Plus they offer a great range of plant milks. Everything is delicious. Well worth a visit!

Delicious gelato from a cute little shop in Brown Bay. Great for a summer's day. Allowed to try several flavours before choosing as there is lots of choice. Would definitely recommend the hazlenut and salted caramel :)

Small but nice place. Quite busy and I imagine in the heat of summer it would be very busy. Nice staff and coffee was decent. Asked for "takeaway coffee" and they gave us mugs so ended up having it there.

Ginger Snap is my now go to ice cream shop. It's pretty close to where I live so I pop in here heaps in summer with friends or family. There ice cream mmmh damn so fricken good 10/10 and they always have quirky dope flavours. Love this place and can't hype it up enough. x

Such a nice little snack to get after a swim, always see cute little kids running around outside asking their parents for an ice cream from here and i can see why.

My flat mate had recommended us coming here on a morning after having a night out. He had raved on about it so I had high expectations. I’m not the biggest sweet tooth in the world but I do love my ice cream. I ordered a hot chocolate to drink and waffles with one scoop of cookies and cream ice cream. The hot chocolate cake out first, which was decently sized and tasted nothing extraordinary for a sweet shop. I also had to wait a while for my waffles to come out compared to my other peers on the table, I thought they had forgot about me as by the time they were half way through theirs mine came out. It looked immaculate but tasted overload on sweetness and cookies throughout, I could only get through half. Next time I come here I would just come for the ice cream (and it won’t be cookies and cream - due to the amount of cookies in it)

Aside from getting parking, it's in a good spot.<br/>Tiny place..so takeaway is best, um small simple menu, so easy to navigate.<br/>Waffle with cookies and cream Gelato and single scoop of rasberry white chocolate Gelato.<br/>Was busy but service was ok..again one little scoop cost 4.50, that's expensive in anyone's book<br/>Waffle with one small scoop and spray can whip cream ,9 dollars +...again wtf !?expensive.<br/>Was tasty though ..but dam I'm never going back, crazy price for what you get. Must be a rich area rich person price lol.<br/>

Walking around and decided I wanted something sweet so decided to come here and try some gelato, we found the server to be rude.<br/><br/>It did take us a while to decide which flavours we wanted. . The server stood there and rolled her eyes a few times as we were deciding. . Uncalled for, we did get to sample some flavours and made our decision and she seemed very glad to have rid us. There were other customers that came after we purchased our gelato and the rest of the staff were much friendly I’m assuming they were regulars considering the shift in behaviour.<br/><br/>Despite all of that, the gelato was very sweet for my liking I couldn’t finish it. My ginger one was flavoured well and resembled ginger kisses. <br/>The other flavour was chocolate and hazelnut, which tasted too artificial for my liking.<br/><br/>All in all, I won’t be back. Definitely can find better service elsewhere and gelato.

Saw a long queue so decided to check their gelato out.<br/><br/>I saw that it’s “Gelato from Wellington” so my expectations were a bit high. Flavours ranged from biscotti to cappuccino & cinnamon, from sorbets to peanut butter chocolate chip. I got a double scoop of Cappuccino & Cinnamon and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. <br/><br/>It was extremely average. You can tell how much water:milk ratio there is by how fast it melts. It melted before I even stood out of the store, meaning it’s got a high water concentration. Also was not smooth and creamy and tasted rather icy. Flavours were all bland and lacked wow-factor. I had to really roll the melted liquid on my tongue to get a hint of the peanut butter. Most flavours kind of tasted the same and there were no toppings like nuts or cookies etc found mixed within the ice cream, which I find rather boring. <br/><br/>Service from the tall guy was good, the lady seemed a bit rushed though. <br/><br/>Food: 5/10<br/>Price: 6/10<br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Service: 6/10<br/>

Friendly staff and great selection of Gelato!<br/>Not the best Ive had but definitely one of the best if not in shore !! Plusso handy right by the beach :-)<br/>The man who served us was so friendly. Didnt get annoyed at us for trying too many flavours as some might expect!<br/>One thing is if they had more seats itd be better!! Very limited small seating area but in summer u can take it down to the beach anyway :)<br/>Will certainly be coming back

The gelato is amazing~! Peanut butter chocolate chip was fabulous, however being a gelato it melts very quick!!!! So nom it up before it drips on the ground. Service was friendly, however I also ordered a flat white, I think the barista overheated the milk because it was very very hot and therefore the coffee didn't bring out the aroma Kokako beans have as I am a big fan of the coffee brand.

Gingersnap is the cafe to go to for your post-Sunday-market coffee and treats fix. The location is superb; I'm never sure why this whole strip isn't lined with cafes. There's one other, but Gingersnap is the best. The friendly staff make a spot on flat white and let me just say, brioche with a whole plum baked inside- genius! It always seems to be winter when I go here, so I haven't tried it, bit their gelato selection looks pretty awesome also. Go there.

<br/>Cool cafe in a great location. Love getting ice cream here and there is a wide range of flavors; and they change regularly. I especially love the choconut which is like a bounty style ice cream and I usually get the sundae which is decadent and indulgent. Great one for chocoholics!

Some of the best coffee I've ever had, and you really can't beat the beachfront setting! Great place to sit down on a sunny day. Cool modern decor as well - the concrete tables are awesome! Will definitely be back to try the gelato.
