What an epic spot. It’s quite easy to miss Ristretto from the road as it’s a little hidden away, but don’t let that deter you. Walk inside and a nice spacious haven awaits. The coffee here is top tier, the service is brilliant, and it also has a nice outdoor area for the warmer days.

This is a nice little cafe with a good-sized menu and lots of cabinet food options. Our coffees were nice and we all enjoyed our food which came pretty quickly. The staff were super nice and helpful. There was plenty of indoor seating. However, it would be nice if there was some cosier booth seating along the walls. Reasonably priced for auckland.

Pleased to find this lovely cage in Royal Oak. Slightly obscured from street but worth looking out for. Easy parking either on street or 2 hr car park on East side of Manukau Rd. Warm welcome. Pleasing art work on walls. Nice fresh and faux flower displays. Small and larger tables plus couches. Clean comfortable surroundings. Kiddies play area out the back. Magazines whilst a little dated just fun to browse thru reminding me there was household chores awaiting me. Yummy display of cabinet food and huge menu on wall. We had mocca tea chocolate caramel slice and the freshest carrot cake ever. Staff polite friendly and attentive. Eager to return for breakfast. Wheel chair access. Tables not cramped together..cold water readily available. well done keep up the good work

Cute little central spot. Outdoor area is nice and not too loud inside. Lovely friendly staff. The male batista made me a beautiful coffee and the carrot cafe is SO GOOD.

Wow I just want to say that this place surprised me completely. Was in the area early morning and thought to get a coffee from here and to my amazement this cafe is huge! With a back area for kids to play. This place looks tiny from the outside but is spacious and bright inside. Will come again.

Ristretto Cafe in Royal Oak (Auckland) have really good tasty food. If you're in the Royal Oak region or live near there I'd suggest their big breakfast / coffee. Great!

Literally the best food I have ever eaten.<br/>Like so good- I highly recommend the chicken soft tacos.<br/>The coffee is amazing- smooth and strong and the service is impeccable.<br/>The staff are so friendly and helpful.<br/>The menu is expansive but not overwhelmingly so and I recommend going with more than one person to try multiple dishes as they are all faultless.

A friend took me for lunch here. It was my first time and I wonder why I haven't been here before? The place is very unassuming outside, one would think it is just an office space or a travel agency. Once you step inside, you will be amazed at the space this cafe occupies. There are 2 dining areas, one when you go through the front door and one at the very back of the cafe. The menu looks like an all day breakfast offering and obviously the coffee is the main attraction. Too bad, I have recently kicked my coffee habit and had to settle with bottled juice. I ordered the beef burger and my friend ordered the bacon breakfast. The table beside us ordered the mushroom breakfast and it smelled so nice and yummy. The beef burger was actually good, juicy meat with fresh veggies, the bun was soft and tasty. Next time, I will come back and order the mushroom breakfast.

Nestled near the busy roundabout in Royal Oak (aka New Zealand's most dangerous roundabout) is Ristretto.<br/>Have come here a few times, food is your typical cafe food. Nothing spectacular but they are your good go-to staples like Eggs Benedict, big breakfast, pancakes, etc.<br/><br/>Service is friendly, portions are good and cafe is clean.<br/>I prefer to sit in the courtyard area at the back of the cafe. The inside of the cafe seems to dim and cramped for my liking.

Man date time. That meant bacon. Both me and Greg decided to get the eggs benedict with a flat white like true kiwis. I got salmon to get that extra protein for the gym later. The eggs were cooked slightly over which decreased that drizzle effect we all dream of. Solid performance on the coffee though. The timing of the food and coffee coming out was also a sore point. Got potential if you tidy up a couple of things. Cheers.

I love this cafe, Ristretto is always my go to. The coffee is amazing and the food is pretty darn good to! My personal fave is the French Toast with Bacon, however it is definitely a special occasion breakfast - For any other day their $10 Brekkie deal is a winner!<br/><br/>The Service is Friendly and genuine, I have been there many times but after about 1 week they knew my name and even how I like my coffee:). I take all my friends there when I get the chance. If you are going to Royal Oak for Breakfast or Lunch make sure you try Ristretto!

This is a great little "treasure" in Royal Oak. We have often taken my parents there and they are hard to please at the best of times.<br/>Today was a very busy day for Ristretto as they were down a staff member but they came up trumps. They delivered the food within a very acceptable time and still apologised for the delay. We've been to places where they take FAR longer, are not busy and then say nothing about the wait....<br/>The fruit cake is as good as my grandmother's cake and she was an excellent cook, having grown up on a farm.<br/>The owner, Paul, is friendly and very keen to please and his wait staff are equally nice.<br/>Try the beef and mushroom pies if they've not sold out and don't forget the fruit cake (moist, tasty and a generous slice)!

In short, good coffee, good service and average food.<br/><br/>We both had the omelets and each was rather dry and lacked taste/seasoning. The side sauce was tasty however. I am also not a big fan of ice cold butter served in the plastic packs.<br/><br/>Might be back if passing for a coffee.

I have come to Akld for a few months this year and had to find somewhere i could find consistently good coffee. I am fussy, i admit.<br/>After several disheartening visits to different cafe's in the central suburbs i finally found Ristretto. I sniffed my mocha and then gave it a tentative taste. HUGE grin. I wanted to hug that man !!! I will continue to satisfy my coffee addiction here from now on- whether i have time to sit down or on the run, i will go out of my way to swing past, and delight in the certainty that my coffee is never burnt, too watery or over frothed, nor too hot or cold.<br/>But the best part ? - and here is something i did not expect in this busy sprawling city - the staff are oh so friendly, & even address you by your name. (something my fave but slightly cliquey cafe's at home in Queenstown could learn from)<br/>SUPERB. deservedly 5 stars.

My husband and I go to the Ristretto Cafe at least twice a week and enjoy the cafes great ambiance, yummy food and awesome staff. Always friendly and welcoming. It is lovely to go there on a Friday evening after a busy week at work and let them cook you a meal and enjoy a great coffee and dessert. Very relaxing. Definitely our favourite cafe in Auckland.

I love this cafe, the food in the cabinet is always fresh and delicious. From the menu try the unusual and delicious big fluffy pancakes. Caters well for kids with a small play area outside.
