A newly & small asian fusion restaurant in busy Ponsonby. I feel like they lack a bit of the ambience and atmosphere. However, the food compensates for that all. All the 3 dishes that we ordered on the night are soooo yum & flavorful. Would love to come back and try other dishes as well. Another plus is their friendly & quick service.
We had the Katsu sandwich, the beef ramen, and the polenta chip. Katsu sandwich was amazing, crispy, crunchy, salty, and sweet. So good! Very filling too. My partner said the beef ramen was the best he’s ever had and that the noodles were amazing - I tried the broth and it was super tasty, very rich and savoury. The polenta fries were cooked nicely but reeeeaaally needed some sort of seasoning, there wasn’t any salt so they were a little bland.
The atmosphere is lacking a little but the service is great!
Love this place. Fresh food and so tasty. Vietnamese inspired with fusion to Japanese and Thai. Staff are very friendly. Cost $90 dinner with dessert and drinks for 2.
favourite restaurant ever!!!! The food is AMAZING and the staff are wonderful 😄 lots of vegetarian and vegan options which is awesome, the pulled jackfruit taquitos are the best 💞

Wonderful experience. I just loved every single bite. We order two small plates and two big ones. I can't decide which is my favourite. All full of flavour and freshness. Service was perfect as well. We will be back for sure. ❤️❤️❤️
I definitely underestimated what this restaurant could deliver. This place is not decorated like the rest of the fusion restaurants, but food were presented with style and the dining-ware & tables are super photogenic. Food are quite nice and were quick to serve. Recommend the beef tataki taco and wagyu meatballs.
My partner, his mother and myself had a wonderful time here. We thought we had to try this place after it newly popping up around the corner from us. What a great decision it was. The Vietnamese/Japanese fusion food was amazing, very special and unique. Service was also fantastic with the waiters taking the time to discuss the food and making sure we were okay. I highly recommend this place. Absolutely perfect.
I went to Izzy not long after they opened and have been back several times since. Every single staff member is so warm and helpful and the food is so delicious! I have had the jackfruit taquitos, soba noodle salad, eggplant roti, panna cotta, and the polenta chips and truly adored every single thing. This place is truly special and has quickly become my go-to dinner spot.
Izzy had caught my eye a few times as i passed by, so when my friend and i planned to go ot for dinner we met at Izzy for a drink to check it out. The people chatted about how they had developed the menu so we were tempted to try a couple of dishes. They were both amazing - interesting and fresh asian flavors, perfectly cooked and presented. We will be going back there to try some other dishes, no doubt about that!
If you love Asian fusion then this place is definitely recommended! Combining elements of Vietnamese, Latino and Western cooking, Izzy serves up a variety of great dishes. The La Vong steamed snapper was amazing; a perfectly spiced snapper fillet steamed in a banana leaf with baby bok choy, ponzu dressing and a few slivers of chilli to add a bit of mild spice. The flavours were perfectly complimentary and it is one of the best fish dishes I’ve had this year. The crab taquitos we’re a great starter, with a light, crispy shell and ample amounts of crab, making it the perfect finger food.
If you’re sick of being disappointed with mediocre fusion food then Izzy will not disappoint!
