Nice little place, open late. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala medium-hot, it took about 15-20 minutes but it was absolutely delicious. I've seen mixed reviews but I am very satisfied. My Tikka Masala is definitely not watery 👀 A little more pricy than most but for the quality and the late night service it is worth it. Friendly service with a smile to boot. I will be back!

Excellent option for Late night dinner. Small and cozy place, there are only about 8 tables, which can be combined to make large tables that can accommodate may be upto 10 people. The butter chicken and garlic nan combo is excellent!. Beef biriyani was average. Tandoori chicken was also great!

We found this place through Batercard Directory as they take Bartercard - has since had repeated visits. They certainly know how to cook a fabulous Indian food selection, in particular,butter chicken is our favorite. So good that we end up with ordering two of buttwe chicken dishes each time following to the first visit. The service is warm and friendly. A place worth of trying.

Excellent food by wonderfully kind and caring people. Been coming back here for so many years and knowing that food is halal (from brinks) it really helps when looking for comfort food. His garlic naan is the best and love his butter chicken (lil spiced up version, you have to ask for it), beef vindaloo and samosa chaat. My family and I love coming here and my boys couldnt stop eating the butter chicken and were obsessed with the garlic naan.

Very rude, small portions, the rice for two persons two curries were sad :( not much meat, lots of curry gravy if you enjoy just drinking curry. Not value for money. Only took the picture after realising that's all the rice that comes with the two curries we had.

We went here with Zomato Gold for dinner. It's a small restaurant, lovely, warm and welcoming. The staff were kind and the curries were really good. We chose the chicken korma and chicken madras Indian medium spicy. The servings aren't huge but they are delicious. The naan was really nice too.

A very poor experience. - Tried to use Zomato gold twice but they always have an excuse for not accepting it. - Last night, I called and checked that if they will accept Zomato Gold, they said yes they will. When paying they said no it’s weekend so we can’t accept it. Just frustrated. - I order Traditional Chicken and Butter Chicken, couldn’t figure out as both tasted similar. - Food is not worth for what it costs. Very expensive for the taste and quality of the food. - Their only pro is that they are open till late otherwise not at all recommended. 0.5/5 for Service, Quality, Quantity. There is a huge room for improvement. Try hard guys.

Rajwadi definitely deserved 5 stars for our visit. Excellent service, welcoming and friendly. The owner gave my son a complimentary butter chicken which we didn't ask for. We ordered lamb korma, chicken biryani, naan breads, mango lassi and masala tea. all beautifully done. Good size dishes, lots of lamb in the korma, full of flavors. I love these naan breads. One of the best in town. Even my mum a picky eater said she enjoyed her meal very much.

Good small place. Was here on a Saturday night for dinner with my partner n kid. Ordered Kebab as starter n chicken Masala tikka as mains with butter n plain naans. Food was good. Service n decor is good. Tried their Rajwadi kulfi too n it was yummy. Portions are a bit smaller I hope they can increase the size or portions. Overall a good place n good experience.

The prawn masala is a bit spicy for me but my partner really enjoy it. However, I think the it's a bit pricey for what we get. Still good value if you have Zomato gold tho.

A great zomato gold find! Came here for dinner and I cannot fault our experience, 4 of us tried a variety of curries at different spice levels & everyone’s were perfect. I had the lamb korma which was amazing, flavourful & the meat was falling apart. There was a lot of meat compared to some other places I’ve been too and it wasn’t all fat, it was decent chunks of perfectly cooked meat 👌🏼 Service was also amazing and you can tell they have great pride in their restaurant. Will definitely be returning & I will be recommending this place as my new favourite Indian!

We got the chicken tandoori as take away last week so thought of dining in this time. We ordered the seek kebab wich was average, I have had better ones We ordered the chicken tandoori this time again and it was fantastic! Our Vegeterian friend ordered pani puri which was average again For our mains we had paneer tikka masala which was nothing to rave about. Also got the chicken kadai which was absolutely delish with the perfect kick of spice! The best part of our meal was the naan!! Hands down the softest, fluffiest and lightest naans I have had in Auckland! Not the best customer service, looks like it’s a family run business.. I will definitely return for the tandoori chicken and naan.

At Rajwadi, I tried the best Indian food in Central Auckland so far. Their finger licking Butter Chicken and warm Gulab jamun was just lip smacking. Simply delicious food. The best part is this restaurant is open till 3 a.m so now you don't need to worry about staying hungry after late night parties. I haven't tried all the dishes yet as I discovered this place just a week ago and have already visited here twice. But, I will, without a doubt, recommend this place to everyone who loves or wants to try some authentic Indian food. You wouldn't want to try and eat while sitting there. Don't know what they were thinking with that one. Below average taste and small portion for a biryani. I won't be back.

Honestly I had heard people talk about this place two years ago and definitely something has gone terribly wrong during this time. Apparently they used to have seriously good biryani and curries, none of that is true atleast anymore. I live stone throwing distance from this place and just for convenience sake I have given it a try thrice- yes three chances to make it right but in vain. They have no flavour at all, being Indian myself I love spicy food but their spicy means shredded red chillis in everything. I have had to throw away the food cause it was inedible. Naan is the only saving grace for this place cause Biryani is just fried rice so they have got their facts wrong around the concept of Biryani. Not giving it a fourth try! Do not recommend this place.

Seriously let down. I've been going to Rajwadi infrequently for over 4 years and unfortunately they have gotten progressively worse. Their nann bread and rice are lovely and expertly cooked, and the currys look great, but that is where the pleasure ends. My last two orders have been the Dal Makhani and the Palak Paneer. Both of these dishes while looking nice, had absolutely NO flavour. Nada. Zilch. Keiner. Not to mention a bit on the watery side. Bring back the good ol days!

The food here is average! They are very short staffed and the curries were not thick instead it was a little watery. I made my order over the phone but I had to wait 45 minutes after I reached the restaurant for my order. A positive about this place is that it is open till late!

This is my go to for indian. I always take my friends here when they suggest indian. Please note there is a service fee to dine in. The lamb vindalo Is my favorite dish there. The prawn curry is also good. But the one thing that separates this Indian to others is the Naan. My god the Naan is amazing.

Went last night ...was feeling very hungry thought to have biryani ... To be honest they have spoiled my night ... They dont know the difference b/w biryani and fried rice .... I can bet that i can cook better then their biryani ... I wont suggest anyone to have biryani from here... Just d waste of money ...

Love the food here! Tasty, perfectly spiced and the meat is beautifully tender. Service is always fast, friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. My sons enjoy the menu and the naan is hands down the best!!

Cute little Indian diner, I was around Mt Roskill visiting a friend and we thought we'll give this place a try. For 11 bucks you get a curry, naan, rice and a drink. Pretty standard lunch time meal. I ordered a butter chicke mild and my friend had the lamb korma medium. Disappointed that my curry came out as a medium and not mild. The lamb korma was tasty and the lamb meat was decent. Annoyed that you have to pay a diner in fee. Showstopper: Naan Bread. Overall Grade: C

We went to Rajwadi for dinner . Dinner was so delicious and I love their naan . I moved to Manukau now. But still go to Rajwadi for dinner. Don't like to eat naan from anywhere else. If you want to eat best naan in NZ, I will recommend Rajwadi to all.... Good service, good food, good people.

Visit Rajwadi almost every weekend just love the food here. It has great customer service and love their chicken tandoori and naans are the best.. Highly priced- $2.50 for a very small sized thin roti-- and $18 for butter chicken....small portion..big places like Paradise, 1947 Eatery and Zing in Kingsland are cheaper than this crampy restaurant ....served the food after a long wait......currys are ok....entree was onion bhaji for $8 and had 4 pieces....shame on you..for charging high price...our bill was around $50 but we still felt hungry so had to go to burger king ..right opposite to this for diner again .....decoration is cheap.... NEVER GOING AGAIN...ZERO VALUE FOR MONEY. Avoid going here

Good quality Indian food, simply the best I've had in Auckland yet! Dal tadka is very good, so is the butter chicken which isn't sweet, traditional chicken has a tangy taste, very nice flavour and is amazing. Paneer tikka masala : perfect, the only thing that wasn't up to the mark would be the Lamb Seekh Kebab, though it wasn't bad at all, just not that good when compared to the other delicacies. I would also recommend the Papdi chaat and pani puri. Price is good, reasonable I'd rather say and quality up to the mark! Keep up!

I can say this is possibly the home of Tandoori Chicken. Served on a piping hot skillet, the chicken is tender, juicy and and the flavours will tantalize your taste buds. We shared the Chicken and a Mutter Paneer, couple of Naans and tried the samosa as well. Its a small little restaurant, very quaint. Service is great and the food is a definite must. Next time you want a great Indian Meal, Try Rajwadi.

The owners are friendly and food is awesome. They serve best curry in Auckland i suppose. I have been to most other restaurants in Sandringham/Mt Roskill area but all of them are overhyped. Try this one. You wont regret. Would definitely go back again.

Lovely food my son loves Rajwadi Butter Chicken compared to any other. It is my favourite Indian Food Place. Excellent Service with very reasonable price. Highly recommended to others. One more good thing about them they open very late. Keep it guys!!!!!

Don't like writing negative reviews but the food I received today was just unacceptable. Being a student I thought I'd take advantage of the lunch special which I came to regret soon after... My naan didn't taste fresh and had a rubbery texture like it was stale and had been reheated (which explains the microwave sound heard at the back..never a good sign.) and the curry side of my container was only half full, it was also unusually salty and didn't taste very fresh either. Won't be returning.

The lady at the counter was very very friendly. Excellent contemporary style Indian dishes at reasonable prices Nice variety of items on the menu. Excellent food. We picked up Kadai Paneer and Paneer Tikka Masala. Superb Naan bread. All in all a great evening. My son is a very fussy eater and he too gave thumps up. Great place to dine out or takeaways. Highly recommended.

$6.99 lunch special seemed like good value for money. We placed a large order to be delivered to a workplace, were advised that the numbers were achievable and a time was set. The food arrived an hour and half late, it was lukewarm and the order was incorrect. The food was tasty, the meat was tender and the medium lamb madras was pretty mild. Customer service was unacceptable and this restaurant will miss out on repeat business because of the delivery shambles.
