lots of gluten free options, and the use of free range meats in the food is fantastic.
got a sweet tooth check out some of the yummy treats as well ( cream cheese chocolate brownie to die for )
We also got a take out massive salad for a home party and they are really great value.

We love this place! Just had a $10 evening meal and it was superb. I recommend this place if you're looking for fresh, tasty food as an alternative to a traditional takeaway. Been there during the day and they happily rush out with a water bowl for the dog too. Gf and vege friendly. What more could you want �

We went there for lunch and had their lunch special (Moroccan Quesadilla and Bacon & Chicken strudel with side salads), and they were delicious, reasonable portion and affordable at $10! Agreed with previous review that I wishes we never went because now I want to go back and try everything on their menu including their $10 dinner specials. The cabinet food looks amazing and they have a really good range of salads.

Awesome selection of healthy salads plus they now have $10 evening meals. The Nepalese dumplings were delicious and came with roast potatoes and a side salad. Great value and such a huge portion it was perfect for lunch the next day. Friendly staff too.

First time trying Gustoso today on my boyfriends recommendation. Huge range of gluten free options and very tasty good. I had the gf chicken cake which was egg based and packed with chicken and roast veges, followed by the cream cheese brownie which was amazing! Only thing that let it down was average coffee, but Birkenhead has set my coffee standards pretty high so all in all a great place to go!

good variety of salads and cabinet food. The malaysian salad was very average, and the dark chocolate dessert was too bitter. Portion sizes are small, but fairly priced. Went there at 12, and it looked closed with the tables crammed inside and not much room to walk.

I used to visit this place very rarely, due to my cravings for junk food. However, the more i visited, the more I began enjoying the delicious taste of the healthy food that is served here for an affordable price (large salad with 3 choices for $10.50 is a must). I now get my lunch from here everyday, Monday to Friday. 1 Large salad and 1 Jumbo Salad. (Forgive my excessive healthy eating) Great value for money, and an assortment of salads to choose from which vary with ingredients from walnuts, chia seeds and kale to brown rice, quinoa and chicken. If I'm craving something a little less healthy, ordering one of the sandwiches or wraps and toasting them seems to suppress my gluttony. The desserts are also good tasting, homemade, and different. Recommended for anyone looking to eat something healthy, at the most ideally affordable price.

A delicious lunch. So fresh and tasty. I had the special of the day which was a quesadilla with a side salad. The friendly staff even made the side salad just for me as the option I wanted had run out. Only down side is minimal space (which makes it tricky when you have a pram) but if you visit off peak times you'll be fine.

I've been wanting a Hangi from Gustoso Kitchen for a while but because I'm a picky Maori when it comes to Hangi, I couldn't bring myself to buy one and be disappointed lol Tonight my partner surprised me with a Hangi from Gustoso and it was absolutely delicious!! Well worth $15 Pork, Mutton, 2 chicken drumsticks, 2 Purple kumara, 2 orange Kumara, 2 potatoes, pumpkin, corn, cabbage, huge amount of stuffing, 2 small fried bread and a small serving of steam pudding with custard!!! Definitely recommend The Hangi.

Really love this little gem in the Highbury Shops. It's good for lunch and dinner and 9/10 I love what I grab from here. Good variety of salads and they give you a decent amount for what you pay. Only thing I haven't been too keen on is the kumara and bacon salad which had very little bacon and a ridiculously large amount of red onion in massive pieces! But will continue to go back. Their sweets cabinet is yummy too :) staff are friendly - keep it up guys.

Love this place! Such a massive range of salads everyday and tasty baked goods. I love the broccoli salad and a tandoori chicken drumstick on my way home when I don't feel like cooking. The staff are always friendly and polite. The coffee is top notch. One of my absolute favourite spots in Birkenhead.

A fantastic little café and bakery, the coffee is great and the food is fresh and very tasty. Their blue cheese and blueberry muffins are too die for. My partner had one of their scones which he said was the best scone he has ever bought. Would highly recommend popping in here for a treat if you are in Birkenhead.

I'd recommend for anyone coming into birkenhead.<br/>great salads, sweet treats and the best scones I've ever had - particularly the ham and onion ones. <br/>The staff are friendly and go beyond standard service to make sure you have a great time and the cabinet is always full of delicious looking morsels. <br/>My pick would definitely be the large salad where you can pick three different salads from the cabinet.

bought a coffee and a slice with a baked kumara. The slice is okay although tasted frozen ish. The kumara bake is satisfactory. But the COFFEE - truly like a cup of diluted milk, not impressed. Poured most of it out. Not a high chance I would go back there again.

Gustoso Kitchen is wonderful.<br/><br/>I don't know what it is, maybe it's the friendly counter staff, the endless choices of salads, the enticing array of desserts.... Hmm! Everything about Gustoso screams "EAT ME, I'M DELICIOUS"!<br/><br/>I love how everything here is so cheap and good for value. $6.50 gets you a medium sized salad with 2 options. I chose the Greek salad and the kale lentil salad. The Greek salad was a little overpowering but I loved the kale lentil salad. Nothing wins me over more than healthy food that tastes DELICIOUS!<br/><br/>I had a cheeky taste of the cream cheese double chocolate brownie! So good! Not too sweet but still incredibly tasty. <br/><br/>I'm coming back here, ASAP! To try their $12.50 omelettes.

I went to Gustoso to pick up some lunch on the weekend. They have a big selection of fresh salads, gluten free options, yummy meats to add to your salads, Coffees and food to order. Service was quick efficient and friendly!<br/>The food is well priced and a good serving size. I had the morrocan chicken cous cous and the mango salad. Was delish! Defintely will be back again soon :-)

My mother and I have made this our regular Saturday coffee spot. We have now extended to regularly purchasing our Saturday lunch (taking it home to eat) as well. My mother advises that the stuffed Kumara are to die for and they are her favourite favourite lunch and my husband and I love the wonderful selection of salads, bagels and stacks which are generously served and priced well. Highly recommend as consistent high quality

Food quality is excellent, thr salads are so good I would let them eat me. Gustoso got me feeling all good about Birkenhead like I've never felt before. We had a salad combo ( something with cashew and carrot, and a Mediterranean one), a cream cheese brownie and coffees. The food was ace, the coffee not so ace, merely acceptable. Apparently they do catering, if I was fancy enough to need to cater an event, this would be an excellent option. Birkenhead also has some super little op shops, I'm quite keen on the place now.

We had lunch yesterday at Gustoso, a relatively new gourmet eatery in the Birkenhead centre. We shared a Spanish omelette crammed with chorizo, red onion, potato and cheese; and the Mercury bagel which was loaded with leg Ham, Brie, Apple slices, lettuce and wasabi sauce. Both dishes were packed full and were delicious. The cafe also offers a wide range of very appetising cabinet food, including interesting salads and vegetarian options. We decided to take home the Ham/Pineapple Quesadilla and the Chorizo & vegetable cake for dinner, both of which were substantial and very tasty. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We certainly intend to return and sample more of the gourmet food.
