Fantastic food. My favourites are Nasi Gorang, if you’re brave ask for it extra, extra hot, or, if you’re bored with lunch bar lunches, try the A1 Jumbo burger. It’s all you need for lunch at under $10.00

My favourite takeaway in Auckland. It's rich takeaway food but presented with elements of finesse often lacking in the chip shops of NZ. It's easy to make this type of food taste good by just relying on the fat and salt content but A1 take the high road with careful attention to cooking temperatures and timings to achieve a superior standard of fried food. The chips are consistently cooked perfectly with a great crunch on the outside. The burgers and toasted sandwiches are cheap and simple but always well constructed and generously filled. They have a very tempting array of fried chicken in the cabinet as well as a large selection of hearty Chinese/NZ dishes. I will always travel out of my way to go here and the chips are so crispy they'll still be amazing by the time I get home.

I've been here quite a few times over the last 7 years and usually the food is really good and I like it. Today I thought I'd get the chicken chow mein. All the pieces of cauli have the black tinge on them. Some of the broccoli does too. And 30 mins after earing a 3rd of it (not the veges) I am sitting here wanting to throw up. I hope I dont but damn. Nothing has made me want to throw up in like 10 years. There is something wrong here.

We are really impressed with the food & service at A1 :) We've been 2 every chinese outlet in west akl & don't think 2 much of them; However, here the food is very tasty, worth the $$$ & the staff r lovely. The rice is actually fried (important point) Generous servings & its popularity speaks for itself becoz people r constantly in & out. Big tip: order ahead :) If the owners sold 2morrow we'd b gutted. Thanks 2 my work mates who put me on2 them, cheers donuts with no sugar & fafa anthony from K road lol

If you’re someone that loves a good f*** off Chinese feed this is the place. I ordered the chicken fried rice, 1/2 dozen fried wontons and the fish burger. I’m fatty so I know food 😂😂😂 anyway this place won’t let you down (unless you want mussels then your crap outta luck cause they didn’t have any left at 2pm which is a good thing I suppose) anyway highly recommend this place. I would’ve given a solid 5stars if I got my battered mussel fix lol.

This is my local takeaways and I am very disappointed with the service and the quality of the food.Today I bought an order and the adult Chinese lady (who I think is the owner) forgot to give me my second potato fritter (which I paid for and I know she won't refund me).So at this point you are thinking that I am being ridiculous but I get frustrated when I'm hungry and by the time I get home, the order is wrong or the food is not fresh. In the past, I have had an argument with her about not putting sauce on the hotdog. On their menu, there is a sausage and a battered sausage but according to her, the hot dog isn't served with tomato sauce, you must ask for it, this is the first takeaways that I know that doesn't automatically serve tomato sauce with the hot dog. Another time when I was there, she gave me chicken for chicken chop suey on my burger instead of the usual crumbed deep fried chicken breast.Be very careful when ordering the chop suey or chow meins, sometimes they serve rotten vegetables that smell the next day.

Wanted to try a different takeaway and ended up here. (thanks Zomato for making it easy to find) I did a phone order in advance as I don't live in the area. We got some Chips, Works Hot Dogs and a Deep Fried Mars Bar. Upon picking up from the store they were friendly and prompt, the food was ready in the amount of time advised on the phone 15 minutes. Chips were awesome, tasted like chips I used to get from my childhood. The Works Hot Dogs were nice too. Really enjyed the Fried Mars Bar. I am not a fan of these and I got it for my partner but tried it and it was perfect. The batter was perfect and not soggy. I want to come back here just for the chips and that Fried Mars Bar.

Recently discovered this place.! Yumm! The potatoes and chicken drums are a fave with the kids after school now. The $32 special with beef stir fry, pork sweet and sour and fried rice is real good and enough for a family of 8.

LOVE CHORLEYS!! Our local, and our preferred. Our favouries are: Egg burger, Jumbo burger, Fish burger, and of course the Combination Fried Rice (actually all the Chinese dishes: superb range and portion size - amazing!). Oh and you MUST try the Work American Hotdog, with melted cheese all over it... they know how we work. Will keep coming here even if we move!!

Used to be my local - Decent as food, fantastic cashew chicken with good amount of cashews. Love the chicken nibbles while I wait as it can be VERY busy some nights. Standard fish and chips are great but chicken burger has too much onion by far. Was charged $15 for three fried chicken thighs once but normally a very acceptable price - perhaps an oversight on that occasion.. I still drive that little bit further to get their cashew chicken.

The best chinese takeaway in Massey. Chips are always fresh and crisp, Chinese food is cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Nothing too greasy or sad, they actually care about what they're making in my experience.

When you find a decent Chinese takeaway in such a huge city it's like finding a needle in a hay stack! A1's food is super tasty. A classic Kiwi-Chinese takeaway. You must try their wontons, crunchy and flavoursome and possibly the best I have come across in Auckland. Love the combination fried rice and the sweet and sour pork is spot on, crunchy with a great tasting sauce. Really reasonably priced and satisfactory customer service. Very happy to have such a tasty Chinese place just down the road!

Been going to A1 for a couple of years now for when a takeaway is called for. What can I say, fast, cheap and tasty, convenient for my location as well, what more can I ask for? Also the staff there are always friendly and courteous :) 4.5/5 would recommend

This is a great place for a good greasy takeaway. Their fried chicken nibbles are great and quite often sold out. Their main dishes are pretty good! The fish burger is yum. They are very quick! No fine dining here however a pretty good fish and chips for a lazy Friday :)
