Absolutely delicious food. We ordered Biryani and Mixed Kabab Plate with Roti. The Kababs were unbelively tender and juicy. The biryani was exceptional as well. My only regret is that I couldn't find this restaurant sooner.

Casual restaurant inside the mall but the food is delicious. Generous portions, great flavour, and melt in your mouth tender meat. The naan was so good with the kebab meat, and I couldn't choose a favourite between the chicken or lamb, they were both excellent.

This Afghan restaurant is a real gem. The food and service is impeccable with some very interesting dishes as well as some traditional desserts as well. We go here almost religiously now. Price is also very affordable for what you are getting. The roast chicken and lamb kebab, is highly recommended.

Loved both the food and the friendly service. We had the family pack (lots of different meat, rice, naan etc) along with the meat dumplings, a delicious pot of tea and sweets from the cabinet to finish off - all delicious!

Very tasty food, I have visited this restraunt a few times, every time the food was top notch. However the prices have increased, they used to be quite reasonable but now they are a bit pricey. Wait for food was slightly delayed but totally worth it. Worth the try though!

Amazing tastes!
The meat in Qabuly was so well cooked and was not smelly at all. The dessert, Ferni, had lots of almond silvers and a nice cardamom fragrance.
The meat Kebab marination was also very tasty and made the meat super tender.
The chicken kebab marination was more Indian to me, though.
Portions were generous, comparing the price.
Very friendly and respectful service.

Good affordable middle eastern food. One can try mixed kebab with rice for $24 which has 2 portions of lamb kebab and a portion of chicken kebab and green salad. Worth trying firni dessert 🍨 as well for $5. Overall a good place to dine-in.

Huge family portions so just be aware of ordering too much. It was really yummy, but the sauces were less. Pretty expensive. I ordered take away. and the 3 kabab are extra ordered separate on the picture because kebabs are pretty small and light.

Had been there earlier this evening with a friend . . Had the family pack for 3 (rice, 5 kebabs , naan and tandoori) All for a valued price . . . The chicken tandoori with naan was simply heaven . . ❤️❤️ The kebabs were too good . . Could not resist going on and on . . Loved thier rice as well . . This was my first time and I'd love to go there again . . Pls try it out . . Friendly staff . . Awesome food . . ❤️❤️ JUST GO AND VISIT IT . . THIS IS FOOD THAT YOU WILL LOVE PAYING FOR . .

Tried this place for the first time today. We ordered the family pack (for 3) and firni. Between my husband & I we were able to eat enough and plus left overs for another meal. The kebabs and chicken meat is well cooked and delicious with a good amount of spice. The naan is soft and very different to the typical naan, rice is good too with the right amount of raisins and goes well with the meat and salad. For I was a perfect sweet to finish off the meal. All in all a good meal that is a little dearer price wise but taste is excellent. Will definitely be back!

Ate at Kabul House after lockdown ended so the restaurant was very quiet. Even though we were the only ones there, there were a couple dirty plates that hadn't been cleared up on some tables which felt a bit odd to me.<br/><br/>We ordered the combination kebab and our food came at a reasonable time. I really enjoyed the delicious flavours from the kebab meat and thought the rice was amazing! There was a lot more rice compared to the meat, so I was quite full, but wished there was more meat to balance out my meal.

Food was delicious no doubt! Flavouring of the meat was on point. I would prefer more sauce options with it and things like hummus or garlic yoghurt because it became a little dry to eat also could do with more salad but in saying that I am excited to revisit this place when their new menu comes out. Rice was so lovely and flavoursome you could eat it on its own with the raisins that added a new touch.

Excellent quality of food. The restaurant has trouble with filling orders, and I’ve had to substitute my order twice. But when it arrives the food is very good and in substantial quantities. If you like traditional fatty lamb and rice, the Qabuli Pulao is a great dish. So is the chicken rice.

Amazing and authentic rice dishes. And the best baklava I've had in Auckland. Very moist from the syrup and good crunch from the pastries and pistachio. I started with one but couldn't stop eating it. Highly recommend!

Cool little place serving authentic Afghani cuisine. The Banjan borani was nice with the naan. The kebabs were the winners, especially the minced kebab. Beautifully smoked on charcoal and full of flavor. Highly recommended.

Ordered their deal of three persons i.e. Rice with Seekh Kebabs, chicken tikka, lamb tikka and half chicken tandoori. Very tasty specially lamb seekh kebab. Soft tender and juicy. Will visit again soon.

To be honest we had not planned to<br/>visit this place. We had gone to visit restaurant that was previously in the same<br/>place as Kabul Kitchen (I didn’t know that the previous restaurant had been<br/>dis-established). Now that I was there I decided to try their food. <br/><br/>We ordered a couple of starters<br/>and a couple of mains. We were genuinely impressed with the food, especially<br/>the chicken dish. The chicken was really tender and very well marinated. We<br/>also liked the Bolani (a stuffed naan bread kind of dish) with the potato and leek<br/>stuffing. My friend also ordered a portion of Vege dumplings but it was not very<br/>impressive. <br/><br/>It was on the costlier side for<br/>the portion size. Will try to come back to try the other chicken and lamb dishes<br/>not so sure about the vegetarian dishes.

I was looking a long time for this as I knew this food from other countries. Luckily there was an afghan kebab at the world festival in Mt. Roskill who pointed me to the Kabul House. All was good, big portions and fair pricing. Only the salad which comes with the food could have a bit more variety. Highly recommended!

OK, let's be honest*- yes the food was great. Place has been open barely 3 months. '5s' for reviews- must be family and friends enthusiasm?<br/> <br/>We dropped in this week because we'd seen the place on FB (not mine) and had enjoyed some Afghani cuisine before.<br/>Cafe- Yes it is clean and tidy replacing a similar curry house of last few years in the Tulja Centre, Stoddard road shops. Our local, and locale. <br/><br/>Host very responsive and a small clean menu. Asked a few questions and engaged before ordering something mid afternoon for takeaway. <br/>Yes the lamb kebab (on rice) was superb; the aubergene platter (egg plant) tasty but cold of course by the time we drove home.<br/>Value for money? Not really. Huge amount of rice (flavoursome and sweetish) and 3 small cube well cooked succulent lamb kebabs (9 pieces?) for $23., not so much a pleasure. That is not an affordable main meal (unless filling up on rice is your thing). <br/><br/>The accompanying salad, very vinegary and quite a shock but pleasant, was a tiny 3-4 dessert spoons. Sauces (like raita but correct name not known) were spicy. But I preferred the sweet juicy lamb by itself. Just not enough of it.<br/><br/>*No BS here. I've been around ethnic food a long time and favoured the infamous Mediterranean diet since days in Greece. So '3' reflects great food and host- but no more because cost is a factor. Maybe we will be back again.

This is the best restaurant to try Authentic Afghani dishes and drinks. They serve very delicious and full of flavour food, absolutely in love with their dumplings 🥟 even the ambience feels like you are dinning in Afghanistan. Definitely a must go if you have not tried before and even if you want to go again so worth it !

I was in search for an Afghan restaurant for the longest time and was so happy to see there was one close by to us that opened a few months back. Was waiting to visit this place for a while and surprisingly our family ordered take away from Kabul. Got to say food was amazing and the quantity given was perfect for everyone in our house and we still ended having left over for the next day. The only complaint I have since I didn’t visit the store was that I believe more sauce and more salad could have been given with the order. Other then that. Everything was good. Even the sweets was amazing as well.
