Delicious food, warm and friendly service, and reasonable prices! Highly recommend this restaurant! We ordered the Spicy squid ($15), the Jelly tofu soup ($16), and the Ginseng Chicken soup ($22). Every dish included a small bowel of rice. The side dishes included: seaweed, yellow radish, fish cakes, kimchi, and bean sprouts. The lovely owners are happy to offer free refills plus there’s free hot tea.
i have been waiting way way way too long to try this place and it is GOOD ! my fave korean resto is the one across from them, Pinehouse Korean & Japanese Restaurant, and this is going to be my new fave Korean resto from now i think. flavour is definitely on-point and better than Pinehouse. though Pinehouse has got bigger portion and better and more delicious side dishes. i am craving them now as i'm writing this review
I use to eat here years ago, and the food is exactly how i remember it. I had the spicy beef soup and it was delicious, however I could only find three slivers of beef. Also the dumplings aren’t worth the money, and have no flavour to them so give that a pass. All and all, this is a affordable, local place that’s great for a stop in.

The best korean bbq ever.
Best gamjatang i have ever tried.
My very first Korean place that I've been to since I moved Auckland in 2016. It's a family-owned business run by an old and friendly Korean couple. I always feel like home whenever I come here for food. The food is very nice too. So in love with their ox bone soup and pork bone & potato hotpot - just perfect for a cold winter day. They also have quite a big variety of side dishes and I enjoy them all, always ask to get topped up 2nd time because they are just too good :) highly recommended place to go if you wanna have a home-cooked Korean meal.
This is our go to korean restaurant. We like all of their side dishes especially the seaweed and the fish cakes. The spicy marinated pork is my personal favourite (not spicy for me but I like the sweet taste).
We ordered the spicy lamb stew for the first time today and it was definitely worth the $18. I would order the lamb stew again next time. It comes with a sauce to dip the meat in and tasted marvelous!
My favourite go to korean restaurant! Best bibimbap ever! It is out of this world. The flavours are delicious and better than any other bibimbaps.. I’d give 10/10 if I can. I definitely recommend the bibimbap! :)
Really great spicy bbq pork!! The sides were great and fresh, really nice accompaniments. Only critique is we asked for spicy and it wasn’t :( Otherwise great value for money, will come back to try the Spicy Seafood noodle!
Personally one of the best Korean eateries on the North Shore. I love their bbq squid which is always cooked so perfectly, and their side dishes include some of my favourite foods. One thing they could improve on is the level of spice of their dishes, tried the mild which was not very flavourful while the spicy has more of a sweet taste which I enjoyed - but could be a bit more spicy 😊 The owners are also really friendly love people and the restaurant has a nice vibe ✨
I had spicy lamb bone stew and stir-fried squid at this restaurant. The lamb stew was the best I've had in Auckland, and the stir-fried squid was delicious, although a little bit sweet for my taste. The restaurant was small and there were a lot of people at lunch time, so it was a bit noisy, but the owner and wife were really friendly, so it's a restaurant I want to go back to.
Loved the food ! It felt like you are having home made Korean food. Also very nice host. Although They could work on the bathroom and cleaning a bit I supposed. Not everyone would enjoy the old buildings and room.

One of the better cheap eats on the north shore and our local, really good wholesome flavours lovely spice nice service. The owners work at it so everything is authentic. So with all three and you get a nice selection of bowls of condiments.
The food was really nice but taste they put too much sugar in the food.. customer service was amazing 👏 .
The lamb soup 🍲 was yumm.
This is your quintessential home restaurant. Korean family run and food consistently authentic and delicious. You go here to feel and taste Korea. It may have rickety chairs, no alcohol with little English spoken. But the food makes it all worthwhile. The BEST bibimbap in the city and a unique spicy lamb stew to die for. Flavors sublime! If you are a foody and love some spice, this is the place for you.
For the beautiful couple owners.
We're very grateful that the shop was open for 20 years now. Since we moved to Auckland. We love your restaurant. You and your lovely wife are Amazing! The food are very tasty and yummy. I can tell it's make from Love. I appreciate all the hard work that you do to make the store still open for all those years! Even though we moved out of Auckland we still come back to visit and support you! 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
My goodness!
What an absolute experience this was. Yummy Korean Birkenhead.
21 years these guys have been serving up the goods and they have mastered it let me tell you.
Sizzling beef and some sticky rice and some cute side dishes to accompany it as per your standard Korean restaurant. But everything was premium quality and no corners were taken on the flavour. Honestly I’ve had this dish many a time in some late night diners up on the top of queen st but this one puts them to shame.
Washed it all down with a traditional Korean corn tea 🌽 which threw me a curve ball but it helped with the digestion and tied the whole experience together.
A client and a few people I know have been raving about this place and I can tell you it’s that good! And for the price of 17$ it’s almost cheaper than a Big Mac combo!
Good food. Not a very shiny place, but good and quick service. and clean.

Place has great food and I try to stop in any time I have time and it is open. Items to try Blood sausage soup is awesome and my partner almost always orders it. For those less adventurous types there is pork and chicken cutlet with rice which are both super tasty.
Small piece of Seoul, that's how I felt inside, nothing flash but authentic, very attentive guy greeted and served me, I was a bit under weather so he recommended hot beef soup which was so delicious that I forgot to take a photo at the beginning , only realised half way through my meal lol. Definitely keen to try out other dishes.
