Went here for birthday dinner and was not disappointed one bit - we got the prawns, bunny chow and lamb ribs and everything tasted amazing and full of flavor. For dessert we got the milk tart and it was one of the best i've had. host was awesome and service was top notch and best part of all we got to enjoy it all in their beautiful court yard - would highly recommend!

Decent place to visit. Staff were attentive and friendly. The food were a mixed bag. The absolute highlight was the milk tart dessert. The meat dishes were tender but needed more smoke/charring and ended up having to rely on sauces. Portions were on the smaller side

Absolutely superb. The calamari starter was truly the most delicious calamari I’ve had in Auckland over the last 12 years. Bunny chow so good and peri peri chicken livers delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant if I could I would give it 10 stars. Best food to date and I’ve tried many spots. Nice ambiance and reasonably priced.

We had a dinner here, 2 people Via first table so went early but received the discount. Ordered 2 cocktails , they were nice, would rate them 4 star only because I wasn't blown away but they were nice, maybe on the smaller side. 2 entrees, chilli prawn (6 prawns) and the burratta, both were very nice, would rate both 5 stars. main dish of the lamb loin, beautifully charred, bit of kick to them, beautiful flavours, another 5 star for this. side of broccolini with pine nut paste, was a 4 star, due to personal taste, it was cooked well. the desserts we got both the milk tart and panna cotta, they were ok, 3 stars, I probably wouldn't get them again. I love love panna cotta but I prefer when it's those ones you can jiggle, as it shows the texture is a perfect consistency. though preferred the panna cotta over the milk tart, but my partner preferred it the other way around. the nice part of the panna cotta was the mix of the fruit and hard pieces (crumble/crunch) contrasting the panna cotta itself. I will definitely come back but just stick to the entrees and mains.

Spectacular food, can't recommend the boerewors and bunny chow enough. First time having South African classics with a twist which were extremely addictive with well-placed spices. The dessert of milktart and panna cotta were a great way to end the meal. Service was good along with a cozy ambience in the courtyard.

Good quality South African bbq/ braai. Their milk tart dessert was an omg experience. First time trying the South African dessert and was great. Custard-like milk filling wasn't overly sweet or dense.

It was our first time trying South African cuisine and the food was extremely tasty and delicious with a unique blend of exotic spices. The portions are very generous and the owners are very kind and friendly - we look forward to dining there again!

Just loved their take on South African influenced cuisine! The food was fabulous- had the boerewors and bunny chow and loved both dishes. Highly rate the food, although the service times has room for improvement for some peoples preference- but typically when going out to dine we enjoy taking things slow & being present in the company of people on our table so not an issue for us.

Great little gem at the end of Ponsonby Road. We went for dinner- the dinner menu itself is simple yet well thought out with plenty of drink options and small plates that are good for sharing. We had the chilli squid, borewors and bunny chow. All were fantastic- the borewors was the best I've had in ages but the chilli squid was hands down the best dish of the night. Would have liked to have tried more but the portion sizes were generous and filling. The restaurant itself has a neat dining area with a relaxing ambience. Service was wonderful and our server made sure to bring out the appetizers first. Service was efficient, and the server was friendly and professional. We will definitely be back to try out some more dishes and their lunch menu. Thanks for a lovely evening.
