I had really great experience. The beauty surrounding there made me feel fresh. Even my friends enjoyed a lot and their kids loved the place as they can run around the big park and playing area. The food was awesome but I was confused by the menu. The chef tried and explained me which was really appreciated. They have variety of cheese n v tried some. V really had good breakfast with a beautiful view.
Went there on a really busy day. Took about half an hour before we could find a free table, then about another half an hour on a queue standing before we could order, and then waited over an hour before we got our food (we ordered kitchen menu). Staff were friendly enough and handled the pressure well IMO. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There is outdoor play area for kids. Water is self service. Separate counters for ice cream and cheese purchases. Food was good to okay. A little pricey for a cafe. Food prices range from about 10 to 22 dollars. Expect to spend about 100 without drinks and 150 with drinks for 4 adults. I wasn't too hot on the grain bread that came with my sandwich as it lacked texture and broke apart. Ice creams were good but were too rich and too sweet for our liking. We were poured room temperature white wine on a hot summer day. Alcoholic beverages are around 10 dollars. Was it worth the 2 hour wait? Most definitely not. Would I make a deliberate planned trip back here for the experience? Most probably, not. But if happen to be in the area or passing by and in need of a quick bite, ice cream, or cheese, but they're not busy then I'd recommend it.
An easy drive from central Auckland - but maybe not during a long weekend/public holiday. We went for the cheese platter rather than a brunch and I reckon we made the right call.
