Nice Italian restaurant with GF Pasta and Pizza. Pasta portions are huge, I‘ve struggled eating up the main size and ordered this time an entree size, which was a full size portion too. Also nice Italian wines to go with your meal. I can recommend Sangovese. Definitely a nice place to dine in. Bookings might be helpful as this place is well visited

Beautiful gem in Auckland! Easy ride from the ferry from CBD (adds to the experience) and fabulous food! Authentic Italian with generous servings. We were in a bit of a hurry and after explaining our situation we got served very quickly!

I'd give 10 stars if I could! This is where I took a date in 2006 who, not long after, became my wife. Still the same delicious food! The fresh pasta is deliciously amazing. Great to visit while we're on holiday. Thank you for making our second visit another memorable one.

The first thing we noticed was the wonderful aroma of good food. Secondly that the diners looked and sounded happy. We had Great service. A comprehensive menu. I had the veal scallopine. Tender veal in a flavorsome sauce with mushrooms, spinach and mozzarella. It came with new potatoes, carrots, beans and broccoli. It was delicious and I took my time to savour the tastes and textures. My partner had chicken cacciatore. This was delicious. The tomato sauce was smooth. It came with vegetables, too. Both these dishes were gluten free. For dessert we had the icecream ' drowned' in the liquor of choice. Fabulously simple and indulgent way to end our meal. Staff was knowlegable and helpful. They were not intrusive and were efficient. Wonderful evening. It is popular and I would recommend booking.

Wow our son who is in the Navy here in Devonport recommended this restaurant as he knows we love Italian food. It was beautiful, the food was delicious, a lovely menu and the staff were very attentive. Nice selection of wine but also a BYO. The two nights we were in Devonport it was fully booked so would definitely recommend booking so you are not disappointed. We will definitely be back, thank you 😊

Have eaten here before and always been happy altho the service is sometimes slow. My partner was happy with his veal parmigiana. I had the fillet steak which was tough and dry altho the sauce was very tasty. I was offered a complimentary dessert as I had been unhappy with my main. We will return, but wont risk the steak again. The veall fiorentina is always good.

You know how people go on about having their favourite little Italian Restaurant? This must be the place they are talking about. Small, unfussy and a real Italian Authentic feel. Staff are wonderful friendly and competent. The food was great and reasonably priced and proportions just like your Italian Grandma would serve you.

We came here for dinner last night as a group of 6. None of us had dined here before but the restaurant was packed! Not a table spare. We knew it had to be good! They had sold out of entree pizza breads and the waiter told us this as we sat down. He told us they could do ciabatta bread for us with the dips instead, which we did and it was delicious. 5 of our group ordered pasta and I got the Quattro formaggi pizza. My pizza was delicious! You could taste every one of the cheeses on it, and then the chilli flakes gave it a fantastic kick! My husband got the gnocchi ragu and I had food envy. It was delicious! We all said we would be back! Delicious food, great service! Very impressed!!

Genuine authentic Italian restaurant in Devonport. We had the garlic and olive oil pizza bread as well as the lasagna. Could not fault it. Great for evening dinners.

We had 13 in our group so i can understand they were a little overwhelmed. But drinks got confused although they had been written down and the food took forever. One of the tables got turned over 3 times before we got our food. I know we were a large group but if you cannot handle such a large group do not accept one. Food was delicious. But if you planning for quite a few people this might not be the best place.

Great food, lovely atmosphere and super service. If you like Italian food and can't get to Italy anytime soon, this is the place to try. We've been customers for years and still enjoy the menu. My husband is vegetarian and usually finds it difficult to eat out but he is always catered for there.

The food there was absolutely amazing! I ordered the Garlic Bread for entree and it was cooked to perfection and for mains I had the Fettuccine Alfredo which was beyond delightful. The Staff there were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. My family and I will definitely be visiting Buona Sera again!

Chose to try one of the local restaurants for a night out with family, and i couldnt have asked for a better place. The food was divine, i had a seafood risotto suggested by the waiter and i absolutely loved it. The service was excellent. My brother is gluten free and vegetarian and he was so happy to see the amount of options they had. Recommend this place 100%

If you are a vegetarian do not even attempt to order a meal! I asked for a pasta with mushrooms & got chicken & bacon. When I phoned I was meet by the Italian so called manager who couldn't have cared less. Pity as we have been going there for the last 20 years but never again since to be met with total arrogance & told it happens!

Went here for dinner last night before the film festival at the Vic theatre across the road. The place was packed so I was worried about a wait but everything came very promptly and the food was amazing. I had the cannelloni and it was possibly the best I've ever had anywhere! The portion was huge as well, so much so that I couldn't finish it even after sharing some with my date who had the ravioli and reported it as really nice too. Will definitely head back.

Quaint little Italian.. Food and service were good and in keeping with a family bistro atmosphere. Pizza bread was lacking seasoning..mussels in tomato sauce was good ..service was a bit slow but staff are friendly and nice.

Great Italian restaurant, very authentic menu cooked really well. Service is ok rather than exceptional. My only issue is that when full it can be very noisy. Maybe noisy young kids would be better at McDonalds, but not the restaurants fault.

We were not disappointed, just what you would want from an Italian restaurant, rustic and run by Italians, the garlic pizza bread was fantastic, you think they're all the same? Well not this one, the rest of the meal came to the same standard we will definitely be back.

I go to this restaurant quite regularly as the food is good, the service excellent (very courteous, friendly staff) & it's always a pleasant experience. Italian food is always popular - last time I had the scallopini - a generous serving & very tasty. I recommend Buona Sera.

My favourite food is anything Italian... and I was so disappointed by the food here... Pasta was beyond overcooked so it couldn't be compared to al dente... My companion described his lasagne as watery.... Prosecco was equally disappointing...

One of the best Italian Restaurants I have been to. The food is always superb, two portion sizes, and the mains are big. The service attentive and friendly (Italian staff), the prices incredibly reasonable, and it's always packed with locals - always a good sign. Try the Sausage and Blue Cheese Gorgonzola - devine. And it's in Devonport - what more could you ask for?

A nice Italian meal on a Tuesday night. Good food, good service, reasonably priced. Bisteca con gamberi (steak with prawns) was simple, but flavourful, as was the salmon pasta with spinach. Would recommend if you're in Devonport and are feeling the urge for Italian food.

This is one of our favourite Italian places in Auckland. Generous portions, reasonable prices. The food is really good, and the wait staff are friendly and attentive. Our favourites are the chicken and eggplant parmigian. We love the tomato sauces and the generous sides of vegetables. Highly recommended.

I used to go on every Sunday, and pizza was so great. well hand-stretched, thin, and crispy. But I went there the other day, everything has been changed. First we had basil bread for entree, but the sauce tasted like mass production from supermarket. Used to be awesome I love it.We had pizza&pasta. Pizza was even worse.The pizza had a base of mass production quality, and baked on steel trays in small electric oven.Pasta was not bad, but obviously not fresh pasta. mass production. I was really disappointed, maybe the chef or owner was changed.My favorite restaurant was gone. Service was good, coffee was nice.But I'm sure never go again
