Review Columbus Coffee - Queen Street - Auckland

This place is very stylish, nice interior with big glass windows. I got the French toast and a strawberry smoothie - both amazing! Look at the photo 😁👌🏻the chef clearly knows what he's doing. There was also a good current selection of magazines and papers to browse through whilst you sip your coffee which I thought was a wonderful addition. A great place, i highly recommend it.

I am leaving review almost a week later. I’ve been here on Monday at 7 am busy for opening. A man with gentle smile greeted me to come and have a seat in though it is not ready yet. He looked so happy and the happy mood fumed me too. I was planning to order just a cup of coffee but couldn’t leave without trying their food because they all look so delicious. So, ordered one columbus breakfast and long black. I don’t know much about coffee but it was aromatic bitter which i really like. If you want to eat light break fast, then it will be big meal for you or you may share with your friend. There was one potato, two bacon, two whole tomato, two eggs, some mushrooms, two ciabatta bread. I will come back for another breakfast too once i come bak in Auckland!

Turned up at 1pm but unfortunately the kitchen was closed as they're currently somewhat short-staffed. So if you want breakfast/lunch then turn up early-ish! The toastie (available from the pre-made chilled food cabinet) was very delicious though!

Good location with nice outdoor setting and the staff were friendly and accommodating .

we ordered a flat white and a chocolate frappe with a danish. The choc frappe was absolutely amazing, best frappe i’ve ever had! Danish was great and so was the coffee. Sweet owners who bantered with each other. Very nice atmosphere with cool pictures. Great hillside location. Very much recommend

My family of 5 went there this morning for brunch. My apologies for taking your big table you were just about to sit down at. We will definitely be going back there! The food & drinks were spot on and the atmosphere was great. The best thing about it was the customer service we got from the gentleman - it was exceptional. He went above & beyond to cater for his customers and thanked us for supporting his business. We're not even locals but we will gladly make the trip for that experience ❤

Extraordinary food, creamy mushrooms were to die for! Warm environment and kind staff! Very welcoming and had a lovely conversation with the couple that own the cafe on our way out. Our second visit here and can't wait to come back!

I always have a big portion and fulfilling meal. They are friendly at all times and they have welcomed me from my first days in Auckland. It feels warm like home. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you.

Went in this morning to grab a coffee and some food and the lady behind the counter was so lovely and helpful. She was in all by herself but that didn’t stop her serving everyone with a smile. Thank you for the amazing service and have a great weekend!

Absolutely loved this place. Super convenient staying on Queen Street. Service with a smile and a lovely attitude. Felt right at home. Brilliant coffee and food to die for. Would highly reccomend to anybody.

Such a great cafe, beautiful food and excellent coffee. Best of all is the wonderful service, so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Will be a returning customer!!

Don't leave town until you have tried the new Toastie. Very nice. If you want to, you can add fries. I think they may be onto a winner with this new addition to their menu. All the staff were awesome and welcoming.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee and the brownie was delicious. They went out of their way to make the kids feel welcome. We'll definitely be back!

Had an enjoyable afternoon lunch there. Ordered the chicken pie and iced chocolate. It was tasty and it’s a nice place. I’d go back again.

Long wait for food. The young staffs very friendly, can’t say the same about the rest of the staff.

Stopped by to grab a muffin to takeaway on my way to work. Texture was hard/stale, like it was about two days old, so dry that I had to throw it out after the first mouthful which was disappointing as I was so hungry!

Terrible service. The person who I assume is the owner was busy laughing and gassing to some friend. Then was then snotty to me because she had to break away to take my order. Then she went off and talked to her mates again didn't pass the order on so I wound up waiting for at least 20 minutes, wondering wtf was going on until someone else asked if I was okay. That person quickly got my single item and handed it to me, so it's not like there was a bunch of preparation.<br/>The place got busy while I was waiting, and some of the people just left because they could see service was going to be slow.<br/>The body language of the staff didn't really portray morale, gee, I wonder why.<br/>Food is average for a chain-type of cafe, it's only advantage would be that you always know what to expect. But, there are several better options only meters away. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Worst costumer service ever. I wait 25 min for coffee and good thing is , they still not make my coffee and Then I request for Refund and I spoiled my 30min here. 👍 <br/>

We were needing a quick fix before we head off to Waitomo caves. Dropped in with no expectations. <br/>Gosh, I have not had such terrible food. <br/><br/>Chicken noodle salad, was acceptable, but only if you are starving and have nothing else to eat<br/>Bacon and egg slice, something from a vending machine tasted better. I have never eaten something so terrible. I am not sure what happened to the egg. But it was like eating plastic and the yolk has turned a green/black colour<br/>Sausage roll, clearly heated up in the microwave where the corner bits were hard and the inside just slightly warm. <br/><br/>Coffee was ordinary and the staff were either very disinterested or having a bad morning

Ordered a Paleo breakfast with salmon and coffee. Coffee was alright but the food was extremely disappointing. The spoiled avocado ruined everything and caused diarrhoea! The worst $19.5 I’ve ever spent.

Was walking by, and decided to drop in and try their coffee. Colombus isn't really a popular cafe, as people all assume franchise stores aren't that appealing. I tried their cappuccino, and to be honest, I was quite satisfied. It was smooth and creamy at the top, but wish it was at a more hotter temperature. Sip after sip, I could taste the richness of their coffee beans they used! I was quite surprised by the outcome! Service may need to improve, but we're here to judge their food and drinks!

Went in there for a quick coffee before work last week, I found the staff to be pretty unfriendly which is a shame because couldn't fault the coffee and the food looks good but I wouldn't go back because of the customer service.

Their coffee can really up your mood.. It's that good. Also, their interiors are really admirable and suitable for some me-time or catch-up with friends

Had a nice experience at 411, mainly due to the professionalism of  Julia,who tended some minor item's promptly and efficiently. Great presentation,quality service. Nice food.classy cafe.

Totally surprised by this cafe. I did not expect much to those chain brand stores however this shop is kind of different. The interior decoration is warm and cozy, with fresh flowers on every table, variable and latest magazines are there for reading while waiting your foods. Very friendly stuffs and the soy latte is totally my most desirable taste in the morning. Another place to my list of spending my weekend mornings. <br/>

The place was good, I like the ambiance, several times I got here because I like the quality of the coffee, also it was not to busy store, so it was pleasant. However there is something I need to address, the staff is not friendly, I feel like they have differentiate level of service between Kiwi's and Non-Kiwi's. I went there around 1430. I suggest management should make a shadow customer and do some observation for a day, you can see the service that the staff offered to Kiwi's and Non-Kiwi's are stark different. I like Columbus Coffee but if this going on, I might switch to Esquire or Starbucks.

Best place to have food. Customer service is so caring. Their staff is so focused and caring even in rush time. Great food. Me and my work colleagues always come there on every Tuesday. It is still our best catch up place.

Service 5/5 one of the best place in Auckland to have delicious coffee. The staff here is super friendly. You don't need to rush with your order, you can take your time to decide.<br/><br/>The menu changes from time to time, you might not get the dish you want on the particular. But they are wonderful, delicious choices everyday. I would recommend you to have Pie Pot, Honey Mustard Potato Bacon Filo and Tandoori Roti if it's available.

Fantastic service, I have been in twice for their addicting Ice Chocolates and will be going again soon! Had a breakfast ciabatta bun with spinach, poached egg and bacon, I devoured it in seconds! (Although I did notice the eggs were slightly overdone from being reheated, but I doubt they would complain if I asked for a fresh egg hahah) xxx Also the prices are brilliant, only $4.80 for a Ice Chocolate worth over $6 at StarBucks!!

I bought a red velvet cupcake. I had a sneaking suspicion that the cupcakes were very old seeing as they had melted xmas tree decorations all over them and it was January 6 when we went in. The only reason I bought it was because it was the cheapest thing in the counter. <br/>It was nice to see that they had lots of lunch options in their counter and I will probably return at some point to buy something for my lunch.
