Betsia is a takeaway and dine in restaurant in Symonds Street it’s a must for the kebab lovers l am a loyal fan of this place l found it 13 years ago and the consistency, presentation and good service is always perfect 🤩 my favourite is the souvlaki chicken with garlic yoghurt in salad for my kebab l love the Al Pacino Kebab with mozzarella this is delicious !!!!the new menu is coming soon l really enjoy one of the new plates antipasto Kebab subtle flavours the marinated olives and onion are giving the last touch of taste to the exquisite chicken kebab was for me a excellent gourmet experience l recommend this new addition to the Betsia menu congratulations for your consistency and strong eye detail !!!!

Absolutely amazing. Highest quality food, amazing prices, epic service. It’s my favourite restaurant in Auckland hands down, and it’s so much more than just kebabs

I always come and dine in here. The food is very fresh, unlike other places the salad used is also better feels fresh. I would totally recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

Just ordered a beef burger and cook made me the best burger I have eaten in a while. The burger was really good specially the mustard sauce that was used was very tasty. The food was fresh healthy and very tasty, will return again for more.

Some of the best fries of ever had, perfect, crisp on the outside with a soft, fluffy inside. Chicken on rice with salad served on a large authentic plate hit the spot perfectly. Everything was fresh and tasty. Will be back for sure.

Succulent meats, fresh salads & fantastic homemade falafel!!! 🌯🧆This place is THE👏BEST I've had in all of Auckland 💯🏆 - In a sea of corner-cutting corporate kebab shops, THIS is the real deal for deliscious, affordable kebab with uncompromising quality in a cute, casual and clean setting 🔥 The couple that run the place are so warm and kind and charming. They really understand the cuisine. The lamb is shaved off pink then sautéed to perfection. The spices and herbs are harmonious. Established over 20 years ago - they don't make them like this anymore! ❤️

I ordered a salad with chicken and it was very tasty. I liked the plate it was served on too, it had interesting design and added to the whole experience. So if you have time- dine in:)

Top tier hospitality. Was just dropping past after a couple beers in the city as they were closing up, and they were so caring enough to whip me up a quick chicken kebab, which just hit perfectly at 11pm. People from the Middle East are truly a gem, and so are their cuisine. Make sure to stop here for a lovely quick feed on a spontaneous evening in Eden Terrace :)

Popped in for a late night dinner. Guy at the counter was awesome. Quick service. The meat was so full of flavour and he let us have any sauces we liked. I had the lamb on chips and my partner had the mix on chips. It cost $12 for each of our meals. Would definitely go back. The kebab shop is also always very clean when I go in which is awesome.

Service and food are sometimes good and sometimes not. Maybe it depends on the daily feelings of the chef and the staff. Hopefully they get better after the epidemic and stable so that I can have delicious food every time I come here to enjoy.

Love this place. Family vibes is awesome.

Food was great, falafel wasn’t too dry (which is rare, iykyk). We were absolutely blown away by the portion sizes though, such great value!

This place has the best burgers in Auckland. Who would’ve thought to get an amazing burger at a Kebab shop. Get the Diablo burger for the burger goodness. Thank me later

Had a great first experience, awesome food, great portions, reasonable price and good atmosphere. Definitely coming back again

I could eat a tower burger everyday. It’s probably all you will need to sustain your life and nothing else! It’s massive, and yummy,. Packed with loads of nutrient beef, salad and cheese, the sauce is divine! Must try A++++++

Stop scrolling through reviews and get in the car. Betsia is where you want to go. This is actually my first time hitting a rice dish but man the kebabs are killer. If you're real hungry hit the Jumbo kebab. Mean sides too. Enjoy.

Excellent local eatery! Great food and staff. Very nice burgers and wraps. Be sure to try the spicy fries!! Consistently good over time!

Great tasting kebabs, on the expensive side for the meal size, great service. Just still feel hungry after one portion even with extra added, so I'd say the portion sizes are the one thing lacking.

Service, food and location is exceptional - totally whats expected from a family owned and operated hopitality business that focuses on developing personal relationships with the customers. Totally fresh, flavourful and delicious food. Fully recommended. The felafel and rice to die for. Thanks guys!

If anyone ever says to you that a kebab is just a kebab then you need to cut that kind of negativity out of your life. The kebabs in Auckland occupy a whole scale. You've got your mystery meat ones right at the bottom and then you've got Betsia coming in around the top of the scale.

Ordered the lamb on rice and it was superb. It's a touch pricy but for the quality of the meat and salad, it's worth it for me. Flavours and char on the meat is also up there.

The guys that work here are so lovely and always smiling! They serve delicious burgers and make up a super delish kebab! It’s our go to take away if we want something super quick

Alright alright alright. So you're drunk or hungover and your around symonds street and you're hungry so you think yeah I could do a burger. But then you realise you dont want to go to burger geeks and have to figure out their menu. So then you think what else is there?. Well theres ramen. But it's kind of a to do. What about Chinese? Yeah it's too hard I got a sit down, drink tea be pleasant try and read hieroglyphics to understand what I ordered. Wait chicken kebab! Do you want salad? yes I want salad. Sauce? Whatever bro just give me the kebab. Delicious.
Cristian Baldassarre
Best burgers in Auckland. Always same good quality. Very good taste and good portion. I only try the burgers and the schnitzel but they are so good that don't need to try anything else

Stopped by after a pub session at Galbraiths. Hadn't had dinner yet and this was the one of the few places still open after 2200.

We came in and there were still a few people around. The main menu is behind the counter but there were some specials on the other wall. We ordered at the counter and picked a table. Food came out fairly fast and together. Cheap and delicious late night food.

Update *Having really bad tummy cramps, I haven’t eaten or drunk anything since lunch other than water*. I ordered the Chilli Lovers Kebab. Portion sizes are very small, they don’t give you much meat and salad. There was barely any chilli in my kebab at all. Service was quick and friendly, however I won’t be rushing back.

Ordered a mixed kebab, tasted great compared to other kebab places I visited. Wide range of vegetarian menu and burgers. Service was friendly. Definitely go back again

The owner of this restaurant insists on using below minimum wage UberEats Drivers. I am a courier who works for a reputable employer (NZ Post) who have taken over Menulog deliveries. Betsia has a policy of serving all Ubereats couriers 1st. Theyel will keep me waiting and serve all Uber Eats couriers before me. This makes our new service look tardy. Please look at the Shame on you UberEats in London. Avoid UberEats because they do not pay minimum wages

Betsia will always liven up this forgotten part of Symonds street now britomart bound buses are now re-routed to cross grafton bridge now. As i know that our middle eastern pals are good at cooking a storm with our N.Z lambs i just couldn't resist the lamb again which was the lamb curry and just nice and tender as always, oh and the garlic chippies are nice too. Just like next door neighbor Ruang Thong they have another branch just down the road, unsure why 2 branches so close to each other.

Me and the flatmates had a pretty long day on Sunday and what started to be journey to roast (which ended up closed) quicklt turned to late night dinner here. This place is more of a regualr spot for me and a few mates.

THE FOOD
Cajin Chicken on rice (4/5) - I loved this dishes and the ratio of rice to veges (perfect). But it didn't taste much like Cajin

Sovlvaki on rice (4/5) - I not sure if its me but if I done a blind taste test between this and the cajin chicken

Falafel (4/5) - Loved it, good crunch outside and soft inside, and on $2

Chips (3/5) - Good but not amazing

Butter Chicken on rice (5/5) I love this butter chicken more than most others. Just know though different people have different taste for butter chicken. This ome is a hidden jem, chicken cooked perfectly and sauce goes amazing with the rice. Also with leftover sauce I like using it with migorine noodles.

Kebabs in general (4.5/5) - Considering what it is and its fastfood thier ingredients are consistently fresh and the ratio seems to be just right.

THE ENVIRONMENT (3/5)
This is more a fastfood type of place to dine, i dont eat in much more takeaway.

THE SERVICE (5/5)
The staff have always been consistently friendly EVERY time. I felt sorry for though on Sunday night because there was only ome guy to abouy 12 people. Big ups to him for his hard work thay night.
Really good takeaway, massive burgers. I've been sick after having a falafel kebab but I'll still go back for the Camembert burger. A good thing is they have a large selection of vegetarian dishes
Michelle Ma Belle
We came here for burger takeaways as it was the only lunch place that was open on Auckland Anniversary day.

The menu selection was extensive, we were also impressed that there were quite a lot of vegetarian options.

Service was fast and very friendly. The burgers were wrapped really well, was also surprised at how big they were.

They tasted great, my sister really much enjoyed her blue cheese burger. I was also happy with my vege burger which had plenty of betroot, avocado, and cheese.

Overall, definitely decent food for affordable price. Would not mind returning to try their kebabs and other items.

This place has really good kababs. The staff are super friendly
My fav food include chicken Breast on rice, their chilli lover kababs are so good and spicy.
The interior is nice. They have good burgers .I had their egg burger and the beef patty is comparatively big. They are open late on Fridays and Saturdays which makes it a good place after drinks

We've been to a few kebab places of late and tonight ended up at Betsia. Very pleased to say this is the best place so far - the kebab I'm chomping on now is better than the one from either Petra or Fatima's. We both ordered the lamb souvlaki and it's bloody Yum! $12 each. Just the right amount of spice, sauce, hummus, tabouleh, a generous amount of lamb and nice warm fresh pita wrap. And it comes in a foil lined paper bag to deal with any leakage, not that there was any, though it was really moist.. Anyway, obviously I recommend! Happy camper, looking forward to the baklava in the glove box.

The taste never changes here ! they maintain the quality and hygiene really well. Personal favorite is the "Chilli Lovers Chicken on Turkish bread" which is out of the world. Will return for more !
Michele
Quick, friendly service. We ordered 2 kebabs on rice, they were about $14 each. They aren't very generous with the salad, but it's nice and fresh. The rice was a bit gluggy.
Aabhas Dole
Very consistent in their taste. You get great kebabs, burgers, salads and Baklavas!

I have a Betsia near my work place too and I am a regular their.

👍🏼

This is my favourite Kebab places in the city. The staff is friendly, meat is tasty, and the chips are the best as it is always done fresh, crispy on the outside soft on the inside. They also do Jumbo kebabs for those who are hungrier than an average person.

Highly recommend if you are around the area, looking for a quick delicious bite.
Sam Trevethick
One of the best in the area for sure. Great service, clean and the food is tasty and fresh. Vert impressed. Was expecting another mediocre kebab joint like so many on k rd but this place is really good. Would easily visit again
Michael Sorensen
Went here last week in search of a new local kebab shop. I had a chicken kebab salad with double meat.. The dish was so small I ate it and drove straight to Serai in Remuera and ordered the same dish. Was expecting a lot more after reading the review's of this place.
J
Had the mixed kebab after reading the reviews I was expecting to be wowed but it was just a pretty average kebab, maybe the shish woulda been a better choice.

I always eat at this restaurant, it has cool customer service... the nicest food, and is usually always busy... u can always depend on them being open... and i order the same thing when i go there.... Yum Food!! ....

Have been a couple of times to this place and boy is it good. Tried both their Chicken and Mixed Kebabs on Pita Bread and both times have I come away feeling great. Fresh ingredients and there is great service to top it off. Definitely a place to take someone on a date if you're not fussed about a full dining experience.

Absolutely amazing place and the best Kebab house that I've been to in New Zealand. Amazingly friendly staff who are ever smiling and helpful. The only catch is the price which may be reduced a wee bit.
Aspiring Foodie
Pretty stoked with my choice of burger last night - Chicken Cranberry Camembert. Big burgers, and a bit expensive. Would recommend the Blue Cheese as well. Nice chips, and combination rice dish was pretty good as well (according to a fellow diner). Was $40 for 3 people - not bad!
Victoria
Great, honest, well priced food. Chips were hot, crispy and perfectly done. Burger tasty and large sized. Everything was freshly made, couldn't fault a thing. Would visit again.
Tapan Munshi
Best Kebabs in Town... I would keep coming back....I have already been there number of times and the taste is always the best. Their Fries are always nice and crispy.
Chris Luth
Hands-down the best kebabs we've had in NZ and among the better ones we've had in the world--and that's based on a sample size of probably 20 highly-rated kebab shops around the country and hundreds of various kebabs (and related foodstuffs) around the planet, including in Turkey, Israel, Jordan, the Gulf states, Greece, and elsewhere where meat-in-pita is a native snack (plus Germany, where the Döner has become the very definition of fast food).

Coming back to local comparisons, to my taste, this beats Shefco, no question.

Nice, clean shop and excellent, friendly service tops it off.

We fly out in two days, and I don't doubt I'll be back here at least once if not two more times before we leave. Amazing.

Got the classic burger, was full upon finishing, which I think is pretty good for $10. My partner got the lamb kebab and samosa. I tried them and enjoyed both. Our food was brought out promptly- just as my partner finished his samosa, his kebab was presented. I would definitely come back here again.
Mary
I loveeeeeee the food here, the chicken kebab and ALL the burgers are absolutely delicious. chicken schnitzel is yum. the food is fresh and tasty, no skin whatsoever in their chickens which I appreciate the most. lamb is nicely marinated and is juicy. Chicken shish with salad is the best, healthy and tasty. Glad they opened another branch in City road. Thanks guys keep up the great food and service.
Zack Winter
great burgers and nice chips. good reliable fast man food
Fyrea Anna
:) best Kebabs and Burgers ever!!!
Dee
Ordered a chicken salad for lunch, was tasty enough but the serving was no where near worth the $11.50 i paid
Nina Gastreich
My first time at Betsia and I have to say:
Beef Burgers are super good!! Mine had extra avocado.
recommending!!
I will def. stop by again :)
very friendly staff and fast service...make sure you try some of the yum Turkish Delights :)
Janice Tan
Average serving size but it was only $10. Only 3/4 of your usual Styrofoam container filled up. Ordered the lamb on rice and chicken on rice. The meat is tasty and the rice is good. Same with the fresh salad and the hummus.

Though for a few dollars more you get a larger serving with more sauce and hummus at the place around the corner on Mt Eden road. Won't bother going back.
Lauren
$10 for my chicken kebab. Which made a delicious filling meal. Was ready in about 5 minutes, the salad was fresh and the whole thing tasted great. I will probably go back and try one of their rice dishes next time.

Also much better than the other kebab place just around the corner on Mt Eden Road.
David Boshier
Great option for lunch and there is always a queue of returning locals. The fillings are fresh and laid out within the front cabinet.

Service is quick and the kebabs taste great.

Hard to go past the combination on rice.
Ian
Great burgers and some nice options.. The service you get feels very disinterested.
Buts saying that this is very much a takeaway were you can eat there but it feels like a imposition.
Sandra
simply the best Turkish food I've ever tasted. I travel from west to city,to Basia's whenever I feel like having kebabs . Their dishes are so well presented and the taste is Divine, the store is inviting with friendly staff. Totally recommended :)
Brendon
fantastic food and really lovely staff! The food is nicely presented and full of flavour. The burgers are so tasty but my favourite is the chicken rice; its the best in auckland!! My favourite kebab shop!
Kebab Lover
wow wonderful service...great food...never had such a tasty kebab and burger...i go there every day almost and always get the best... the lady (betsi) at the counter is very friendly. tnx guys for the best kebab ever.
Vegetarian
Take away vege burger....Woman serving attempted to charge $14, when vege burger was advertised for $7. Got back to work with takeaway burger only to discover that my $7 actually bought me a roll with some salad in it. Utterly disappointing given my hunger, and the cost of the burger. Will never return.
Iranimania
Great burgers, good chips, but the mayonaise tastes absurd.
Gordon Shumway
I love this place. The service is always great, the place is clean. the food? So far the best kebabs I've had in Auckland. They don't always give you jalapenos but the salad is always fresh, the sauces are delish, the meat & rice are spot on. I would go here over any other kebab place in Auckland. This place is great!
Dan
I visted a website which stated Betsia Kebabs do deliveries to central auckland (along with other auckland areas) so I phoned Betsia Kebabs. The first person who answered the phone could not understand english. The second person I spoke to understood better. I explained I wonted to place a delivery order and she said this would be fine, it then took her ages to understand my order (I accept this when speaking to someone whos english is a second language) however after she understood. She then informened me they don't do delieveries. I have seen other websights where Betsia Kababs state they deliver, if they dont do deliveries they shouldnt advertise they do.
Juliana Machado
Great place to have lunch! Very good burguer and amazing kebab! The service is also very good, everybody that works there is really nice.
Cheap Eats
Less of a restaurant and more of a takeout with seats, don't go here for a first date. Food is great though - mainly kebabs but well done with fresh ingredients and wonderful flavour combinations. Would be the perfect place for a bite to eat before a gig at the Powerstation. Try the Souvlaki and put yourself in the hands of the owner if you don't know what you feel like or can't choose your sauces.
