Such a nice atmosphere - feels like something straight out of Europe. We definitely don’t have many places like this in NZ.
Food was amazing, so much flavour and everyone who served us was so friendly and kind.
We will 100% be back and will recommend this to all our friends and family.
What a gorgeous wee hidden away café 🥀💃🏿The coffee is a smooth roasted delight with artful milk steaming… but the decor, atmosphere and architecture are what make this alley-way find something really special. The peaceful passageway entrance boasts a charming provincial feel. Relaxed seating with vines and flowerpots peppered around windowsills ringed in wrought-iron gating. The interior has rich wooden Victorian-come-bohemian features and such a gorgeous collection of antiquities. The staff are absolutely excellent- so welcoming and warm. I had the eggs on sourdough and was surprised to find the dried and fresh herbs were rather nice - despite the lack of butter on toast given my intolerance. The sourdough was excellent quality but sadly not barely toasted - no colouring on the toast to speak of - and the seasoning could have been a bit stronger - or salt might have been provided. The eggs were poached relatively well but in lieu of butter some olive oil and balsamic might have been a nice touch. There was the faintest touch of chilli oil which I really enjoyed and could have done with more of also. All together I would highly recommend a stop in. The breakfast wraps and buns look lovely and I might go for those next time. Very pet friendly!
Wow - what a great place. Certainly a gem! Stunning breakfast amazing location with truely awesome atmosphere.
Amazing place, just hidden off the main Ponseby Road, menu is amazingly priced and food is excellent. You have to try the soups, Chicken and Coconut was perfect. 10/10. Would come again
I went here as a quick stop to get some hot chocolate but once inside I decided I'd also get some food.
I had the "Easy La La Land Breakfast", it was amazing and the hot chocolate was the best one I've ever had.
The atmosphere is really great and the staff is absolutely lovely.
Really recommend going here, I'll definitely be back.
Quaint café, wistful ambiance with a toothsome menu. If you're looking to fall in love, bring your date here.
Came in during a relaxed evening and sat indoors. A French couple sat at the window sipping on coffee, soft Jazz piano seeps through the room. A dazzling array of chocolat and jarred snacks line the shelves beside dried flower arrangements. This spot is a little slice of Europe in Ponsonby. Service was personable and charming, although I’m not too sure on the use of activewear as workplace attire but hey it’s comfortable I understand. The main reason I will continue to come here is not for the exquisite ambience but for the quality of their product. Their coffee is delightful, I would know I’ve been a roaster before, and the biggest challenge is getting a mocha that doesn’t just taste like chocolate. They use ganache (how it should be done) and it compliments their coffee admirably. I also discovered their chai is properly done in milk with their own addition of French vanilla instead of brewed as tea in water. Their cabinet food, although small in serving size, was absolutely delicious, I highly recommend their capsicum, creamy mushroom and bacon wrap, it was served toasted and crispy although perhaps a smaller plate would make the serving size seem less minute. Never the less, I will be bringing all of my future coffee dates here. Thank you for existing Little Garden, you’re an absolute delight.
Adorable cafe with great service, coffee, and food! Such nice ambience and music 😍
Gives “little cafe in France/Italy” vibes.
Beautiful as always - the perfect hideaway to relax and enjoy a very smooth flat white. Love the look and feel of this place that transports me to the other side of the world in a moment!
Such a gorgeous little spot. The hot chocolate is impeccable!
There was only one staff member on when we went and he was absolutely run off his feet. I just want to say how much I appreciated him and his efforts, and his lovely energy. He deserves so much praise for running everything alone.
The one thing I will note is that it isn't a particularly accessible spot for anyone with any form of physical impairment. The stairs up are alright but the ones to the bathroom are extremely steep and worth a word of caution.
