We had such a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch enjoying Matt Lambert's delicious Sunday special - Beef Wellington - check out the delicious sides that were part of the $65 per person cost. The steak and vegetables were cooked to perfection!
Alyse and the wait staff took great care of us and made us feel very welcome. Definitely recommend. Such an easy location and a great wine and cocktail list.
I came back a second time, on my short trip to Auckland, as I enjoyed the first visit so much. I had the "Fish and Chips" appetizer, which was raw fish on a homemade cracker (yum) and an amazingly prepared pork chop. Entire staff was friendly and helpful, not only with menu suggestions, but also with local venues to experience!
Amazing!! We ate very well!! Every plate was interesting, well balanced and with a good taste. The service was excellent as well!

The most amazing experience here. Such a wonderful atmosphere and the waiter had great food and wine recommendations. The crab spaghetti was divine and the cocktails were delicious!
Great selection of drinks, and the snacks are top notch. The Lodge Bar introduced me to my new favourite wine, the Amisfield Fume Sauvignon Blanc <3
Outstanding restaurant near the waterfront . The food was superb , in fact so good we went two nights in a row. The Michelin star chef from NY has created some divine dishes to tempt the pallet.
The bar person has created some one off cocktails . If you like sweet try ‘ Not your average Pav ‘. Or gin-gernut.
The little prawn tartlets were stupendous I could have eaten them all night . Fish amazing and pork to die for . If you want something different for dessert try the Specaloos cake . It’s divine .
Each dish has bursts of flavour and textures to tempt the tastebuds .
The staff were excellent and attentive and Jay should get an award for friendliest ever in a restaurant .
We’re ready for a third visit to try more when next in Auckland . .
My son and I had a bite to eat at Gochu, before having lunch here.
We decided that we would have a couple of plates to share, which was a good decision.
The service was excellent with one particular waitress.
We decided on a plate of pork belly and another plate of seafood risotto.
The risotto dish needed a bit more of a spark up with the flavouring, as it was missing on the taste side.
The pork belly was well executed, with two reasonable sized portions, and the seasoning was perfect for my taste, not too much salt which was certainly appreciated .
Well worth the visit.
Price wise, this restaurant will not break the bank.
I would certainly return.
Absolutely love all dishes from lodge bar. This place deserve more attention as most people think it’s a clothing brand. Menu changes all the time. The attention to good is just delicious and service was great. Made you feel really comfortable. Interior design was beautiful really lovely place to go.
Best meal and service we have had in years. The dishes really thoughtfully put together and delicious. The wine was really well matched and everything service and timing wise was excellent. Really great, highly recommend.
