Review Sushi-ya Sushi - Birkenhead

Excellent sushi shop: fresh and tasty, wide variety, and they're open late enough to get dinner. It seems most sushi shops close in the afternoon, so we love this place for dinner.

Realice nice sushi, I was surprised by the great combination of flavors and textures. Definitely will come back again!

Went there for a late lunch/early tea and they had the mini bite size salmon sushi- 10 for $7 which is really good value. Their portions are generous and the staff are friendly. Would recommend for sure

I love coming to this place. They also offer donburi bowls now as well. I believe the owners are Korean, so the rolls have a slight Korean twist. Pros: - Lots of variety (both raw and cooked filling options) - Reasonably priced - Tastes fresh - Friendly and welcoming staff Cons: - Gets super busy during lunchtime rush. Lines are sometimes out the door - Small store - only a small table outside to eat, so more of a pick-up-and-go place.

I think this is one of the best sushi places on the North Shore. If I am in the area it is hard for me to pass up a trip here to grab some of their delicious sushi! Always fresh and great selection.

I don't have any bad words to say about Sushi-Ya Sushi. It's one of my favourites! Even if it's super busy (which it does yet at peak times) it's never too slow to care about. The sushi is great, and because of its popularity, they're always making more - so you know it's fresh as it can be. Always a great experience.

There are a number of great sushi shops in Birkenhead, Sushi-Ya is no exception. They have a wide range of different types of sushi, it always is fresh. No brown rice options though. Pricing is good. Sometimes there is a queue and a bit of a wait if you go around lunch time. Definitely worth checking it out if you are looking for sushi in Birkenhead.

Honestly the best sushi on the North Shore! I have tried lots of sushi joints and this is by far my favorite. Their also pack heaps of filling into their sushi so it's not just all rice. Always super fresh, huge variety, very well stocked and friendly staff.

Small but very popular sushi place. Selection of available sushi is great and they are always fresh. Several times they made one I was after on request. The price is right and all this makes it my favourite sushi place in Birkenhead.
