Stopped here after a very long drive from Queenstown.
The food was absolutely delicious. We had samosas to start and shared a couple of curries, the butter chicken and the eggplant masala along with garlic Naan and a couple some chutneys,
Service was fast, friendly and professional
It was early on a Tuesday night and practically every table was full so this is clearly a local favourite
If you are staying in Blenheim or just passing through and feeling hungry then I highly recommend stopping at the Tamarind Indian Restaurant
My wife and I love Indian food and this is some of the best we have enjoyed. There are many options and they are very helpful in helping you select. Definitely would recommend others in Blenheim should give it a try.
Really good food. The black chickpeas, eggplant masala and lamb rogan josh were all very nice and particularly good naan (not greasy)
Amazing service, we have enjoyed coming here multiple times over the years. This time all of us ordered the South Indian dishes that were recommended by the friendly staff. Next time I will probably go for the mild option instead of medium, but it was delicious anyway.
Try their Lentil Doughnuts and vegetable platter as a starter between a group! My boyfriend had the Kerala Chicken Curry which was absolutely delicious when I tried it, I ordered Chettinadu Chicken Curry and our friend had the Chicken Mappas.

Our favorite meal in New Zealand. We ordered the broccoli appetizer, eggplant masala, kerala fish curry and a chicken dish that I forget the name of. But wow, the flavors knocked us out. So delicious and original. We’ll be dreaming of that fish curry for a while.

Wether a Blenheim local or a visitor to the Marlborough region I would highly recommend a visit to Taramind restaurant specialising in Southern Indian cuisine.
We ordered Taramind mixed platter with kerala chicken fry, chick pea battered prawns and an assortment of vegetable Bhaji.
The chicken was flavoursome succulent and tender, the prawns cooked perfectly and the Bhaji light & fluffy.
For mains we ordered Chettinadu chicken curry, Butter chicken & Kerala fish curry, accompanied with 3 Garlic Parotta (Southern Naan)
We hadn't tried the Chettinadu curry previously and it didn't disappoint it was delicious, the Butter chicken was one of the best we've ever tasted & the Kerala fish was superb without being overcooked, with succulent morsels of chunky pieces of fish.
The Parotta is also a scrumptious Southern Indian take on traditional Naan which was almost pastry like in its texture.
We've frequented several Indian restaurants throughout NZ and this is differently one of the best if not the best in the Marlborough region.
What a great little gem in Blenheim! Incredible and authentic South Indian cuisine – we highly recommend the dosa – it’s huge and delicious! We also really liked the korma and biryani. The Service was fast, attentive and very kind. Would highly recommend!
Bringing Gods own country ( Kerala) in Blenheim. Being served wholesome and nutritious food 🥘 is serving and icing on the top. You need to come here to experience the friendly atmosphere and excellent service .

The food was tasty and the restaurant setting was quite elegant for a small town... however my two issues were that the food was way too greasy and the service was too slow. Most of the starters are fried and the cauliflower curry was swimming in oil which was NOT appetizing (see photos).
