Facade is deceptive. The atmosphere is great. Service is a bit slow but excellent and helpful staff. Food is to die for. Had lamb bhuna and partner chicken korma. Naan bread was very well made.
Had an excellent lunch here (2 persons, 34 nzd, Chicken Tikka Massala, Chicken Eggplant Musheoom curry with rice and 2x Garlic Naan, no drinks) middle of feb'20. Very friendly staff and excellent food, reocmmended!
Ordered two curries that were both really tasty and decent size portions. We had the naan and a rice too which paired really well. The wine and beers were great too, we would definitely recommend.

We came to Village India several time before the pandemic, then could not come to NZ for almost 3 years.
We’re back and after arriving from the US today—of course we went to Village India! Tonight we tried lamb pasanda and the mushroom and Eggplant curry.
Both were amazing! We will definitely be back!
This was our first Indian experience in New Zealand and we were not disappointed! Everything from the starters to the mains to the dessert were incredible! My girlfriend and I were very pleased, we’d highly recommend the mixed plater and the chefs specialties for mains such as Methi Lamb and Achaari Lamb! Will be back!
