Alpino is a gorgeous Italian restaurant in Cambridge. This bustling restaurant was full of people and chatter as soon as we walked in, we were greeted at the door, and the staff were nice and friendly. I ordered a Limoncello margarita, but sadly, I never got to try it as it never came, but everyone else at our table got their drinks and seemed to be happy. I didn't want to make a fuss. I ended up having a glass of wine, which my friend offered me from the bottle he ordered, so it was all good. The young man who took our orders was lovely and friendly. We ordered mozzarella balls and two pizzas. The pizzas were delicious, especially the prawn one. We loved the complimentary chilli oil they brought to the table, so yummy. We were so full from dinner that we didn't need dessert but we had such a lovely time and enjoyed our meal with friends. Please visit this gorgeous restaurant, the food is definitely delicious and the atmosphere is great.
We tried the charcuterie board and shared the prosciutto e funghi and it all tasted wonderful! The staff were very nice and attentive. Excellent authentic Italian food!
This is a great restaurant. We enjoyed our lunch very much. Have to say the new layout from my previous visit when this was a bar is far better. Well done and thanks.
Amazing food and service. One of the best Italian restaurant in New Zealand. Will back again

A hidden GEM!!! One of the best Italian food spots in the country. Fantastic welcoming comitee, We felt like we were at home the second we entered. Food was just soooo full of flavour.
Staff were awesome, friendly, very very well done.
I will be booking my next 5 occasions there for sure. Make sure you book to save yourself a spot..... Highly recommended. It takes a cracker to recommend one of these... But Alpinos' definately deserves it.
Visited with a group of nine and not one bad word was spoken.
The male host was so energetic and enthusiastic nothing could have gone wrong.
The lady who served us was exceptional. No notebook, just remembered the whole order and gave excellent service.
Thank you from the team at Machinery House.
The food is not bad especially the ham platter. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and design, and the waiters are really friendly. The spaghetti bolognese was just a bit weird but besides that it was all good.
Managed to enjoy an impromptu New Year’s Eve dinner on our road trip back home. The friendly Italian (Ricardo we learnt after hearing other patrons leaving wishing him well) found us a table & we were lucky to be served by Laura who provided a great dining experience.
The meals didn’t disappoint, compliments to the chefs on some fine Italian 😋
Will definitely return here!
Grazie
Food is very good and comparable with what you get in Auckland (which is reflected in the prices) and overseas. We had the ragout which was well done - very rustic style so you could see the pieces of carrots and celery. The pasta (which was fresh) was well made. We had the truffle pizza which was good. A hybrid Roma/Napoli style. The squid was really good and showed great technique as it was cooked just enough but not raw. So that was good. The kids bolognese was good too and they took out the tartness of the tomato sauce for kids so appreciated that.
I would have given this 5 stars apart from the water glass which had visible lipstick on it - a little off putting. Hopefully this is a one off.
We’ll be back again next time we are in Cambridge.
Such a great find! The vibe was amazing, the staff are super friendly and the food was absolutely incredible - the pasta was the best we've had at a restaurant in a long time! Would 100% recommend dining here.
