Excellent service, great food options, gluten free 5 stars nice wine

Visited Sat night, it had a nice hum and busy. Really loved the pizzas and good choice of cocktails. Would happily go and trial more of the menu!

We had a great meal. Service was friendly and they checked in with us several times. Bonus of the night was a free dessert sent out to us from the owner. An awesome touch. We were able to thank him before leaving and will definitely return. Thankyou as your service from our phone booking through to paying the bill was perfect

Out whole group really enjoyed the meals! No one complained. It was super busy with many different functions and private groups and we still got served in a great time. Highly recommend. 🤤kids area was pretty good but don’t like that there only money operated games.

Had a great lunch with friends and mum who was up from Christchurch. Had an amazing Salmon pizza, then cheese cake for dessert it was so delicious. Drinks on offer from the mocktail and cocktail range were great. Lovely atmosphere in front of the fireplace on a cold winters day, so cosy. Thank you to the waiter, he met our needs and showed great service skills. We'll definitely be back. Great range of food for all.

Great evening. We had a group of us. Pleased they took care of kids first, kept them happy. Food was awesome. Good size meals.Waitress was excellent. Sorry we left suddenly. Children had had enough. Will definitely go back. Thankyou.

Awesome place to enjoy a cocktail with a meal. Great indoor and outdoor seating areas. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

I wasn't that hungry so choose the pork belly bites, a perfect amount. Husband had the cabanara, he said tasty enough but was looking for more.

Travelled from Tauranga to meet friends there. Great food nice dining and good range of beers. Lacks street appeal tho compared to Onyx next door. Needs more of an inviting entry. But don't let that detour you because it is a nice place.😊

The menu and water were quickly delivered, and the order was quickly delivered and delivered quickly. Scotch, ribs and fish are great choices for our small gatherings. Excellent service, great food, close to the stove. Fab night - thank you.

We had a fantastic dinner here with our children. The gluten free options were delicious we got the gf pizza and gf bread board. Both so tasty! Really catered for gluten-free and asked if coeliac. Has a small kids playroom which was fantastic while kids waited for their food. Staff were very accomodating and friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return.

We attended a private function to celebrate significant birthdays. Great venue and delicious food.

My husband and I were here tonight for dinner. It’s been a little while since we have been here but the new owners have done an excellent refurbishing the place. The staff are fantastic and my meal (starters, mains & dessert) was on point �. Thanks you for a great evening!!

Sunday lunch at the Stables on Alpha. Nice fit out, friendly competent staff, reasonable prices and great food. Can recommend the mussell fritters....

Food generally good BUT found the manner in which some of the food was served to be childish and inappropriate. Plastic chequered type serviette under your food, which disintegrates as to you eat and lands up mixing with your food. Burger served in a plastic 'bowl' with no fries? And mac n cheese served with just about everything??? Not sure we will rush back

Beautiful brunch for Mother’s Day today. Coffee was awesome as was the food and the service. Table of 7 and we all loved it !!

We had a lovely early Mother’s Day Lunch at The Stables yesterday. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the service from friendly staff, the drinks, especially the Kahlua, Baileys and Caramel drink of the day and just being together in a great atmosphere. Thankyou to everyone.😍

What a excellent start to the week. A beautiful family meal tasting the new flavors on the new menu. The smoked meats are exceptional. Mouth watering. I had the crispy pork belly tonight. Great place to take a young family. Meals came out quickly. Affordable price. Professional service. Will definitely be back.

Called in for dinner on our way home to Tauranga. Beautiful restaurant. AMAZING staff & service. Great prices and selection over the bar. Kids menu was great. But the food was just OK.

Came here on Saturday night with my partner & sister for dinner. Had a fabulous experience trying the new menu. Staff were very friendly, accommodating, and made sure we were well looked after. Food was delicious and was brought out in a timely matter even though it was quite busy. Will definitely be coming back :)

The girls that were running the bar on sunday afternoon were not polite at all. The pizza that my friend and I ordered wasnt that great because it was burnt. Too crispy like hard pizza burnt as. My friend and I were not happy with burnt pizza

Food was great and very filling. The chef Taran did an amazing job for presentation and taste! He puts alot of effort into it! Maya the waitress was lovely and always had a smile on her face! Good atmosphere. Will go back again👌👌

After a bad experience at a neighbouring "Cafe" I had a look through the front door of "The Stables". Looked a little "blokey" but I ventured forth and peaked over into the restaurant proper. Cosy fire, nice tavern style decor so I returned a little later with my wife for a light lunch. We were welcomed and seated in a friendly manner and presented with the menu - which looked very "upmarket pub" or lunch cafe. I procrastinated over so many obvious choices but went for the lunch specials - steak on ciabatta. My wife ordered Moroccan Chicken in a wrap. I can only say that they "have got it right". Presentation, taste, quality, quantity and value for money were excellent, (I didn't need my steak knife). Staff were attentive without being "in your face". - Thank you - Now we'll have to find time to go back for a nice evening meal "with all the trimmings".

The food was mediocre to the last the degree. The service was even worse. The "ladies" at the door and the rest of the staff were very brusque, aggressive and extremely unprofessional in the way that they dealt with certain social situations as well as taking a very personal opinion and voicing it in a un-political manner. Having being very diplomatic in the situation at this "restaurant" I felt very victimized. In my personal<br/>Opinion, management needs to seriously re-evaluate. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

More "fair" than "poor". Service was reasonable ... Although you'd expect a plate for your bones and a bowl of warm water (with a slice of lemon) to be served along with your order of pork ribs. Nevertheless the waiters were eager to serve and had a good attitude about our additional requests so that's nice. Unfortunately food was average tasting. I suspect our pork ribs were probably microwaved but at least it was served warm (we've had worse). Plenty of room for improvement, if you ask me.

Went here last week for lunch &amp; had chicken carbonara and my partner had the battered fish with lime aioli. Service was excellent, atmosphere was good with the fire going it was warm. Food was great especially the fish with the aioli. DEFINITELY recommend that! Also the best natural orange juice. I will be back for sure.

Hm. <br/><br/>We (a local couple with adult son and partner) have dined at Stables several times, and when it first opened, our meals were excellent with steaks perfectly cooked to order with generous accompaniments. A most pleasant experience all-round with efficient friendly service a couple of times.<br/><br/>Then something changed - drastically. We heard that it had been sold and was under new management. <br/><br/>As mentioned in the above reviews, we too have since experienced service ranging from off-hand to extremely rude, as well as wait staff who seemed to not have a clue about how to do their job. For example, several wrong orders, the need to wait until entrees are finished before serving mains, serve mains roughly timed together (not 10 minutes apart, perhaps a kitchen problem), and NOT stacking finished plates on top of one another and clanking the used cutlery on to the top of them right in front of a diner's nose! <br/><br/>Time and again on our last 3 visits we have had to signal staff, several times having to go to the bar area to get some attention.<br/><br/>All this, when combined with very disappointing meals the last 3 visits, means we will not be returning to Stables.

My wife and I have just returned from a dinner date at the Stables.<br/>We struck a very abrupt and quite rude waitress who clearly has better things to do than to be at work, after pointing us in the general direction of our seat she then vanished and barely spoke two words all evening.<br/>The food was not great, I had an extremely tough "sirloin" with onion rings on the side, some of the onion rings still had flour inside them which was really unpleasant. I pointed this out to another staff member who showed this to the cook but no offer of any discount was made.<br/>We are new to Cambridge and have been trying out restaurants and are also investigating places in advance for our various work functions. <br/>We were very disappointed with our experience and will not be back again.

We had a very nice lunch here but the young blonde waiting on us was very rude and her attitude sucked! If we want to order our meals seperately we will do so, much to this rude girl's dislike.

Good to finally have a casual cruisy bar to hang out in Cambridge. Good quality food and reasonable prices. I have eaten here on several occasions and found the food to be good tucker.

I went there on Mothers day for dinner. <br/><br/>1. Free glass of wine was not given as advertised or even offered.<br/><br/>2. The service was abrupt and blunt-some real training needs to go on here. I think the young girls were more interested in them selves than serving the customers and making them feel welcome.<br/><br/>3.The food was good but took an hour from the time we placed our order to delivery.<br/><br/>4.When asked if we could take our order instead of say "we won't be a moment , i was told were really busy quite abruptly. This i thought was very rude considering we were the customers.<br/><br/>5. When we came to pay the blond bar girl up stair was more interested in talking to her friends than serving us.<br/><br/> Its a shame that management doesn't realise the value of repeat business and training your staff as the surroundings were quite pleasant but the attitude of the staff let them down greatly
