My husband and I were here tonight for dinner. It’s been a little while since we have been here but the new owners have done an excellent refurbishing the place. The staff are fantastic and my meal (starters, mains & dessert) was on point �. Thanks you for a great evening!!
Just wanted to say a big thanks for the awesome dinner and service tonight and every time we come in, the lamb rack and steak meals are amazing and the donut dessert is to die for thanks again and we will definitely be back in real soon ��
Food was great and very filling. The chef Taran did an amazing job for presentation and taste! He puts alot of effort into it! Maya the waitress was lovely and always had a smile on her face! Good atmosphere. Will go back again👌👌
After a bad experience at a neighbouring "Cafe" I had a look through the front door of "The Stables". Looked a little "blokey" but I ventured forth and peaked over into the restaurant proper. Cosy fire, nice tavern style decor so I returned a little later with my wife for a light lunch. We were welcomed and seated in a friendly manner and presented with the menu - which looked very "upmarket pub" or lunch cafe. I procrastinated over so many obvious choices but went for the lunch specials - steak on ciabatta. My wife ordered Moroccan Chicken in a wrap. I can only say that they "have got it right". Presentation, taste, quality, quantity and value for money were excellent, (I didn't need my steak knife). Staff were attentive without being "in your face". - Thank you - Now we'll have to find time to go back for a nice evening meal "with all the trimmings".
Went here last week for lunch & had chicken carbonara and my partner had the battered fish with lime aioli. Service was excellent, atmosphere was good with the fire going it was warm. Food was great especially the fish with the aioli. DEFINITELY recommend that! Also the best natural orange juice. I will be back for sure.

Visited Sat night, it had a nice hum and busy. Really loved the pizzas and good choice of cocktails. Would happily go and trial more of the menu!
We had a great meal. Service was friendly and they checked in with us several times. Bonus of the night was a free dessert sent out to us from the owner. An awesome touch. We were able to thank him before leaving and will definitely return. Thankyou as your service from our phone booking through to paying the bill was perfect
Out whole group really enjoyed the meals! No one complained. It was super busy with many different functions and private groups and we still got served in a great time. Highly recommend. 🤤kids area was pretty good but don’t like that there only money operated games.
Had a great lunch with friends and mum who was up from Christchurch. Had an amazing Salmon pizza, then cheese cake for dessert it was so delicious. Drinks on offer from the mocktail and cocktail range were great. Lovely atmosphere in front of the fireplace on a cold winters day, so cosy. Thank you to the waiter, he met our needs and showed great service skills. We'll definitely be back. Great range of food for all.
Great evening. We had a group of us. Pleased they took care of kids first, kept them happy. Food was awesome. Good size meals.Waitress was excellent. Sorry we left suddenly. Children had had enough. Will definitely go back. Thankyou.
Awesome place to enjoy a cocktail with a meal. Great indoor and outdoor seating areas. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.
I wasn't that hungry so choose the pork belly bites, a perfect amount. Husband had the cabanara, he said tasty enough but was looking for more.
Travelled from Tauranga to meet friends there. Great food nice dining and good range of beers.
Lacks street appeal tho compared to Onyx next door.
Needs more of an inviting entry.
But don't let that detour you because it is a nice place.😊
Lots of gluten free options! We got the gf bruschetta and a pizza with gf base and both were fantastic!
