Review Oasis Cafe - Cambridge

Food was great. Staff were very nice and accommodating. There were a few gluten free meals; most of the curries could be made gluten free.

The environment is very loyal to the Tai cousine and most of the cookers are from Thailand, which ensures it's authentic. Unfortunately they didn't update the new menu in their website, but there are two options that are amazing to try. For European cousine, which they have a good variety of dishes, the parmesan chicken breast with mashed potatoes is a certain win. Meanwhile, if you want to go for a good Tai cousine. The panang duck with veggies in a coconut milk sauce and rice is an amazing call. The coconut milk sauce goes very well with the duck, specially because it doesn't steal it's flavour and give a great experience for anyone keen for it. Suggestion, ask for medium spice level, unless you're a passionate for spice food because they will ensure the spice level of Thailand. Also, they don't close on holidays. This is a great plus because you can count on them anytime.

Went to a set menu event with Thai Cultural Performances between courses. Was a nice way to spend the evening. Came away very well fed with containers of our leftovers and learnt a little about Thai culture. Highly recommend 👌

Have not dined here for aprox 2yrs. The food was declining in amount per serve taste and quality. We previously had dined regularly as a family. I returned today for lunch with a group of friends and all the meals looked tasted and smelt terrific. Mainly Thai meals were served. Enjoyable time. So give it a go if you havent been a while.Good service. Diss seating and entrance.

Regularly visit this place, great food, excellent prices, and very popular with locals. The staff are friendly and seem to keep up with even the largest of groups with very little trouble.
They are happy to even make custom meals based on weird diets, and usually get it right :D

We had a family of 8 booked at 6.30pm. an extra person arrived at 7pm which was easily accommodated. Towards the end ordering liqueurs and more alcohol the waitress heard we were celebrating a birthday and gave the birthday girl her mains for free which was unexpected. The service was excellent considering the restaurant was fully packed, a bit slow for the drinks as our group was guzzlers but that was ok as there was a bar person attendant. There was a wide variety of mains ordered which was very delicious and alot of tasting was sorted through. My favourite was the Grilled Duck Breast with Pork Belly. 6 outa 9 had ordered the special Home made Blueberry cheese cake wit white chocolate which was a winner with every one, myself, I had apple strudel with cream , custard and home made ice cream but still preferred the cheese cake. All in all the atmosphere was great, staff were friendly, meals were delicious. Great family restaurant.

We had a ladies night out a few weeks ago and decided for a 2nd time to dine for Coffee & Dessert at the Oasis. We all arrived pretty much at the same time, sat at our table and started talking amongst ourselves. We waited and waited for someone to attend our table but after a good 15 - 20 minutes someone from our group decided to go up and ask for service, which we did get straight away. They had run our of a lot of desserts and what was brought out looked as if it had been cut down to make it all go a little further. then at 8.30pm we were told, 'There's no hurry but the café closes at 9pm because of the liquor license'. I was very disappointed as we booked well in advance so there should have been a good supply of dessert and last time we got really good service. Consequently we will try some where else next time, a shame though I thought we had found a great restaurant.

We were travelling back early evening and the only place open for meals was Oasis. We had eaten there before, about three years ago, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal so was expecting more of the same. The place wasn't very busy, with just my husband and I and a couple of others. The young waitress was almost rude when serving us - definitely no Kiwi Host training. The meal came out and, although tasty, was very much on the small side (more an entrée) which was disappointing at $26 each. We had to eat all the rice provided to make up for the lack of curry. Before our cutlery was even placed back on our empty plates they were whisked away by the same waitress and suggestions made to order dessert. We politely declined.
Next time we are travelling through Cambridge we will stop at the fish and chip shop - at least we will feel like we have eaten and get better value for money!

We love going to the oasis, its got atmosphere and is very friendly.
Reasonably priced, and huge mains. around $20-32 per main
$10 for most desserts, which are very decadent and well presented....Great kids menu also.....
Atmosphere is layed back yet stylish and a good intimate place to dine.

We have dined at Oasis regularly for brunch/lunch and have always had a most pleasant experience. The servings are consistently generous and tasty, with a huge variety on the menu. The coffee is great, really great. And the service has always been friendly and efficient. We also occasionally drop in for a drink after work or in the weekend, slounge on their big leather couches, read the paper and magazines provided for a relaxing hour or so. Highly recommended.

Great service, fantastic food, reasonsible prices and a wide selection of options! We are frequent diners here as we know it's extremely reliable and consistent every single time. Thai and European to cater for all, even the kids. 5 stars!

Unfortunately the food we had was very average- french toast served with cold rotten banana's (they did change these for fresh ones when we showed them the rot), and nachos with burnt chips & very little meat- instead lots of carrots, celery & onions in an average tasting sauce. I had asked what the nachos came with and was told mince, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream... no mention of the vegetables.
Service was OK, but very muddled with confusion over where food was going and also meals did not arrive at the same time.
We did not try the Thai food, perhaps that would have been a better option, but we will not be going back to see.
