Review Pepper Bridge - Christchurch

Carlos
This is definitely the best Indian restaurant in whole NZ and I tested a lot, even in Europe are not better ones. The only Indian restaurant who has similar quality was in Singapore at little India. The waiting time was a bit longer than in other restaurants (I will check that again, sometimes it just one timer) but, it was definitely worth the long waiting. The food was amazing and super delicious, I found my favourite Indian place. The spices and taste was well balanced and the taste is just incredible. Also the garlic naan is heaven, crunchy and chewy and the taste is well balanced. I love this place, highly recommended. Staff was super friendly.

Delicious, we think this is the best Indian in Christchurch. Currys are natural and healthy tasting and not too oilly, 5 stars!

New restaurant premises in Addingtown waiting for liquor licence. Still great food and service.

This is a small Indian restaurant serving high quality food. It was busy on the Friday afternoon I was here. Since there were only about 4 or 5 tables, a lot of people who did not have prior reservation, either had to wait or left in search of other options. Table reservation is recommended. I found their service to be good overall and the owner was friendly. Got to know that they do home/office delivery. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

The food is great, the service is pretty good...one of the best Indian restaurants in Christchurch.

Better food than most Indian restaurants. Really good fried entrees unlike other places that just chuck stuff from a box in the freezer, into a deep fryer.

Very tasty food! One of the few Indian places in Christchurch that serves beef; can recommend the beef vindaloo.

This is the best Indian I've had in Christchurch. Their chicken has that nice charcoalish flavour and is nice and tender. (You can tell the marinate their chicken so has extra flavor) I would highly recommend their Butter Chicken and Lamb Madras. They make a great Cheese & Garlic Naan too. This is my go-to Indian and they rarely disappoint.

This is the only Indian restaurant that makes me crave Indian cuisine for dinner. You can tell they have a passion for creating real flavour in their curries. Thank you Pepper Bridge!

Our takeaway place. I like to order aloo saag and chicken do pyaza . The food is good for its price. Friendly people. Would recommend this place.

We started with a fish entree and a cottage cheese entree. They were quite unusual and I don't think we'd order them again. For my main I had chicken Korma and it was really nice. The service was prompt, professional and friendly.

To be able to manage a gang of 14 notorious customers pepper bridge did a good job :-) yeah the smile on their face till we leave the restaurant at 10, I appreciate for serving us by adjusting to our needs... I would say the dinner organised was more customised to us.. Except for less salt in dosa which was little disappointing the food was decent :-) curry is pricey but quantity was comparatively less for the money :-)

Lunch time special was looking a good option last Friday for five of us. The dine in deal was a choice of about 15 to 20 mains (meat and vegetarian options) accompanied with rice, plain or butter naan, poppadom and a soft drink, all for $15. (The takeaway deal may be a couple of bucks cheaper.). I settled on the rogan josh, while others in the group went with the lamb vindaloo and the chicken tikka masala. We were all asked how "hot" we wanted our meals. That's my personal gripe with most restaurants like this. Don't ask how hot we want something, just bring it out how it should be prepared. For heaven's sake, when was the last time you got a mild vindaloo or a hot korma? Anyhow, moving along. After experiencing many "westernised" Indian meals, lamb should be reasonably tender when served. That means a slow cook for a couple of hours then added to the various preparations requiring lamb. But hey, we're only talking 15 bucks all up. So, lasting impressions by everyone were nice flavours and reasonably good value in a pleasant surrounding. The wait staff and owner were very pleasant and made everyone feel welcome. Will definitely be visiting again and will try the chicken or vegetarian option next time.
