We have returned now three times and also picked up take away sandwiches for walks. We love the food here, beautiful burgers, wraps. Great coffee and smoothies.

We ate here without knowing it is a fully vegan cafe lol. Food was so great we didn’t even realise we were missing meat in our meal. Portion was really huge. We added on chips to our mains and it was potato overload I couldn’t finish. Ordered cinnamon roll and the dough was really nice. Coffee and chai were great too. Didn’t know there are seats outdoor / at the back of the cafe, they’re such a vibe. Will definitely be back again!
These guys know the perfect ingredients for a successful storming cafe. Superb food, divine coffee, sensational service and consistently friendly! If you’re new to Chch or need a new regular this place ticks every box.
Portershed is far the BEST vegan only cafe in the city ! It’s the entire experience and owner Emma and entire team make you feel like home . Food is just heavenly and with multiple daily options either from the cabinet or a la crate menu. My absolute favourite is Jackfruit Sammie and Tofu Nuggets Panini , but if I’m really hungry Quarter-pounder vegan burger is good choice. On the top of that coffee is delicious and the blend they use is perfect ! I promise if you try it once you will not have enough and aways go back just as we do!

The BEST vegan Cafe in New Zealand. I love Portershed! I stop in and have breakfast often and end up picking up a bunch of vegan foods and treats (portershed also sell vegan products, alot of which are hard to find!) And of course the staff are always friendly. Simply the best food, service and place for anyone to eat!! And as a bonus, there's a beautiful outdoor area which is amazing in summer!!
Try the Hash Attack burger, it's the best brekkie burger I have ever had!!
Beautiful food. My son introduced me to this place. I'm not vegan and I swear it may be the best burger I've had. Burgers are massive. Couldn't finish it. Spiced chai tea is the bomb to. So good.
Great Vegan Cafe. Try the quarter pounder its the best, you can even buy the patty’s.
Iced soy late is very delicious, coffee has a great taste. Highly recommended place.
Vegan heaven! We went right at closing to try their "meat" pie and sausage roll but we were unable to get coffee. So we went back the next day and got more food...still didn't get coffee. The staff is great, cheerful and know how to give you just the right dose of spunkiness to brighten up your day. In all I think we made 3 trips here to get food, it was THAT good...still never tried the coffee 😉
A fantastic Vegan find!
Travelling around NZ is simply stunning however the choice for Vegan foods is very limited so to discover Portershed was extremely well worth the visit- So much so it needed a further couple of visits to make sure we were right the first time!
Excellent quality food from cakes to snacks.
The burger was “amazing”, with their 36g of protein a bonus and the ‘thick shake’ so tasty.
As soon as we are back in Christchurch we will be back here!
