First table sample menu must be there old menu as the current one for dinner is completely different as they serve tapas, burgers and sides for dinner. Website menu page is broken also. Food was really good highly recommend the country chicken and the beef smokey brisket.

We had fish n chips and salad. Lovely fresh fish with crunchy batter and lovely chips, salad was really nice. And we had brownie for dessert and banana split, the meals were huge and your leftovers can be boxed up and taken ,good value for the money.the staff are friendly and helpful

This place was AMAZING! We came here for our last night in New Zealand per my sister's reccomendation and the food was so wonderful. The service was really great too!

Service was great. Had the squid. Pretty bland. Aioli was good. Chef you need to season your meat. The fish was under seasoned and the pork belly was too. No black pudding. The mash was overly salty. Otherwise all in all not bad.

I picked up a Grab one voucher for $39 which entitled us to two course meals each. Incredible value for the quality of the meat dishes. The steak was done to 'rare' perfection. My compliments to the chef. The staff were kind and attentive and the I really enjoyed the Idaho Hazy. đź‘Ť

Nice and cosy bar with darts and board games. Great place for a cheeky Sunday session as it feels like you can really just hang out here. Really enjoyed it.

Awesome pub just up the road from There Boys Brewing and a must visit if you're in the area. Great beer selection and super friendly staff keen to chat and help you find the perfect beer for you, definitely one of the best places for beer in Christchurch!

Great place to enjoy craft beers. They have nice varieties of local beers. It is only place, where I have tried fried pickles. Portion was good and quite big.

Great food and atmosphere. Service could do with a little polishing but other than that great

The food here is amazing and the portion sizes are very large we had the hot hop platter and it was delicious, communication between staff wasn’t great but it didn’t change our experience so no points off 5 star will be back

Visited on Tuesday night - live music & great beers on tap. Friendly bar staff & cozy 'English Pub' vibes. Will surely return.

We went there for our wedding anniversary & played pool while waiting for our dinner the beer was so good but the food was even better! Man the chef can cook a mighty good steak it was to die for!! probably the best one I've eaten in years I was pleasantly surprised by all of the good food which i struggled to scoff they even kindly gave us our dessert in a doggy bag to take home & kept it chilled in the fridge while we played another game of pool after our meal. Thanks for the great service! We will be back.

LOVED IT. Had a family dinner on a Grab One voucher. The staff were great. Really friendly and on to it. Food was delicious with generous helpings for hungry teens. Steak was cooked perfectly. Lovely atmosphere. Cosy with good acoustics for chatting.

It's just doesn't make sense... their craft beer at room temp English pub schtick  only landed  in Wooly as a pragmatic  response to the post Quake commercial premise void... then what the hell are they still doing here, now?  The place is always near empty.  The food is standard pub grub.   They're in the heart of working class Christchurch but charging Merivale prices...Mysterious.

We visited The Twisted Hop on the 4th of July. They were promoting a 4th of July celebration event that evening and we decided to check it out. The first small victory was the private parking the back. Though there aren't many spaces, it was nice not to have to fight street parking. We entered through the back patio door which leads onto a covered, cozy patio great for enjoying a beer with a friend on a warm day. The restaurant inside is dark and rustic, but the bar is aglow with the colorful chalkboard promoting the beers on tap that day. We spent some time with the bartender discussing the beers available and he helped us find the perfect fit for our palates (pilsner for me!). We sat at a four top table near the wall of books at the front where you can buy a book for a donation that benefits the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund. I can get behind that! There is a spot for a stage and a counter full of board games. Awesome. For dinner, we stuck to the American-theme menu and ordered tacos and wings. They were delicious, but the tacos were definitely my favorite. Next time I would like to try something off of their real menu, which looked wholly filing and belly-warming. Do you have a favorite brew? They take special requests and will do their best to stock it for you! Definitely recommend this a top bar to spend the afternoon or the evening imbibing craft brews and devouring delicious snacks.

Went to the Twisted Hop purely because it was the first restaurant we drove past and was not disappointed! The staff are very attentive and have a great sense of humor so it is very relaxed dinning. The food was perfect and priced accordingly, would recommend the mushroom risotto. The range of beers and knowledge of wine suited us down to a T and we are already planning on going back for a beer after work some time.

Awesome food. Really reasonable prices. Good atmosphere. Staff had really good knowledge of the food and beers. The outside area could have been a bit nicer but the inside is really comfortable and not too cramped which is nice.
