The best coffee in Christchurch! Nice staff especially barista from Czech Republic Andy. She makes beautiful latte art! Big cabinet with food, so many variants (sweet, savory). Huge portions of food from the menu :)

Simple, sweet, super service. The owners are friendly and the breakfasts have that simple, uncluttered taste to them. The porridge is so tasty and their eggs are a glorious orange! Check out the colour of that egg!

Very nice food offerings from the cabinet to the cook menu. Coffee is great too. I can tell it will be a very nice decor cafe if it is well maintained. One star losing due to the cleaning. The food cabinet looks glossy and dirty, being in the food industry for years, I totally get it the cabinet is quite hard to maintain as new, but definitely can be better than what I see. I really hope the staff can take maybe half an hour to do the cleaning and this will be an excellent cafe. Pics showing the pork belly and avocado toast, it is amazingly well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Will definitely visit again and hope to see a cleaner shop! Keep up the good work!

Needed to stop somewhere for lunch before an appointment, and this place came up in my search. All the food in the cabinet looked delicious and really well presented. The coffee was really nice and the staff were very cheerful and friendly. Will go here again.

First time visiting Gentle Giant Cafe. The sticky chicken with lemon slaw was absolutely delicious! The cabinet selection had a great range, and the sweet cabinet looked delicious. Can't wait to go back!

The vegetarian filo from the cabinet was so good, my friend tasted mine and went to get one for herself. It had kumara and pumpkin, I think. You’re spoilt for choice with the pastries. Plenty of seating available too. For my friend, the bacon was a tad disappointing because it was chewy and not crispy.

really nice cafe! food is decently priced, not too expensive and tastes really good! their pastries are especially good, and the salads look really good as well. nice place to sit down, not too crowded and noisy, would definitely recommend coming here for brunch or just for a cup of coffee!

Great for a Saturday morning coffee and snack. Staff are friendly but mostly keep to themselves and leave you too it, great variety of cabinet food and a good lunch/breakfast menu. Coffee (the most important part) has always been fantastic every time I've been there so far! :)
