Amazing view big portion unexpected :) ingredient very fresh.most of dishes are great only cream pasta was too salty for me and salmon has fish smell. Kind waitress.

What a great setting, but prepared for some serious drinks prices. Food was excellent, second time round. Had to send both steaks back as they were ordered medium rare and arrived well done, the one actually very well done. To their credit though the replacement steak was near perfect medium rare and beautifully cooked. The starters are huge, this is somewhere we will try again.

Delicious food, great atmosphere. Our waitress tonight was wonderful. Very friendly, great sense of humour, we even got an Easter treat of brandy snaps. Highly recommend eating here. We'll be back on our next trip. We had breakfast here the other day as well and were very impressed with the buffet.

We had a really nice meal here that more than met our expectations. All the staff were very nice and in particular the lovely lady from Macedonia.
The only disappointment was that you couldn't get any appreciation of the view of the lake. Incredibly bright lighting inside, which the staff said could not be dimmed, ruined the ambiance as the decor was very nice. A simple dimmer switch would make a difference.

Lovely view / outlook over golf course to the alps. Service excellent, not rushed good supply of water and other beverages. We were seated outside so could easily be forgotten. Food good well presented. An excellent experience.

Dinner and night out. We had a great meal here tonight. I had the lamb rump and my wife had the sirloin steak. Neither were large meals but both were very tasty. We followed this with dessert which was also very good. I had the Dutch apple crumble and my wife had the 3 scoop sorbet. They are in the midst of renovations and the restaurant was in the library for the mean time. Service was good.

Just want to congratulate the Clearwater team on an outstanding dining experience. A flawless fantastic performance in every manner and one which left us departing feeling fabulous. I think I'll be dreaming about that scrumptious creamy pumpkin risotto for many moons to come. Beautiful coffees and perfectly brewed and the service was sublime. A stunning view to boot and our lovely waitress even went out of her way to take our pictures for us. What a team! Thank you for a wonderful day!

Great location. Nice staff. Food delicious. Just a shame for the cost you would need to order a side of vegetables. Which would have put the yummy slow roasted pork dish to a cost of around 47 dollars. Makes that one dish very expensive for what you got. The fish of the day was delicious, but again expensive without a vegetables. If you call a piece of pak choy a serving of vegetables think again. Overall though good food.

When we went here for dinner one night, we had to wait for a long time to even be seen by anyone to seat us. The restaurant was quiet, only one family there, so there was no excuse for it. Then they had misplaced our booking! Someone had written it down for a different week, not that night, so they weren't even expecting us.<br/>We were seated and given menus. The waiter was absolutely lovely though. The first guy was very rude to us while he tried to find our booking.<br/>The view was stunning. The food looked lovely. However, it lacked a lot. We had ordered our steaks rare and medium rare, and they both came out well done. Which was almost inedible, but we'd waited so long for it to come out, we didn't want to send it back and wait another half hour. All in all, the only thing that saved the night was the lovely waiter that served us and came to check on us periodically. Really not impressed, and not worth the amount you pay for somewhere that was supposed to be for the upper class.

Went there for breakfast and was utterly disappointed with the very small selection. Food was average nothing special. Literally eggs, bacon, sausage and hashbrowns with a few breads. Disappointing for hotel quality! Ambiance was nice overviewing the lake.

Went for breakfast a week or so ago. It was a two for one deal the offsider had bought ($22 for 2). Given previous comments about the place there were no great expectations if things were not all that smart. Well what a pleasant surprise! It was a buffet style arrangement and in a few words it was superb. Nice outlook over the golf course while dining as well. Great selection of fruits, breads, pastries, cereals, etc and the hot food was very good quality (apart from the hash browns, which were the standard triangular pieces of cardboard). For filter coffee (as part of the buffet price) it was nicely brewed, with the option of purchasing an espresso, flat white etc. Anyhow, definitely go back there again, even without a half price deal!!

Went for a meal in July. The food was wonderfully presented, but there just wasn't enough of it. The average Kiwi male would NOT be satisfied with the main. I asked for extra vegetables and was told that they were provided for the table. What arrived was a VERY small bowl to be shared by 4 people. When wine was asked for, a repeat of the first wine order, they screwed it up. I got thoroughly sick of one of the waitresses continually topping up our water glasses, I far prefer a jug of water left at the table so you can help yourself. We wanted coffee at the end of the meal and had to wait about 10 minutes before they even took our order. We won't be going back. There are better restaurants around.

We have been here a few times for lunch- which has always been very good- fast service and excellent food. This time we went for dinner for my birthday. The restaurant was reasonably busy, but unfortunately the wait for our food was far to long, our booking was for 7pm and our mains made it to our table at 9pm, as it was a work night we were slightly rushed. The waitresses were great and very attentive. We ordered side of chips for our meals, after payment we realised they had over charged us for the chips, but by this time we were too tired to go back and correct this. As I stated the food was perfect, but for a fine dining restaurant small errors like this make all the difference. We may go back- but maybe just for lunch

The food was excellent. The serving staff were extremely effificient and very friendly. The setting is beautiful with views over the golf course and lake. Well recommended for a relaxing meal with family or friends.

We took a party of seven for Mothers Day lunch, enjoyable setting looking over the 18 green. Although a small lunch menu everyone found something to their liking and food was very good. Desserts fantastic as well. I bit of a wait for the mains but overall the service was of a high quality. Definitely going back.

We celebrated our daughters 21st at the restaurant on the 12 April 2012. The service and food was very good. The cost was on the high side. What left a sour note was the 2% fee on the credit card at the end. Told it was owned by Australians. This is New Zealand!!!. Very bad attitude to my complaint. If you are paying by credit card forget them. If you are paying by cash ask them for a discount. In all honesty it would be best to leave them off your list. They are greedy Australians who wanted to charge an extra $10.35 on a $535.00 bill. The restaurant was not that busy I wonder why!!!

well what can I say, booked in for dinner for my 25th anniversary with my partner as peppers came highly reccomended. We arrived to the venue and was escorted to our table. We had a fantastic three course meal with a bottle of wine. We couldnt fault the service as the waiter was always checking on how we were while filling out glasses regularly. Nothing was a problem to them. I was impressed so i tipped the staff. A great night had and peppers made it even more special. I will be going back and would reccomend to others to try this venue. A+++++++

Horrible service, had a reservation, arrived to find out the waitress had written it in on the wrong day and had to wait an hour for a table. table was made out of two small round tables very clumsy like. finally ordered our meals which took 1.5 hours to arrive! do not recommend at all.
