Great little Cafe bar on Riccarton Road across from the Bush Inn Centre. They serve 2 eggs on toast which was very nice with coffee (or tea I would imagine) for a very modest price.

Took relatives from the North Island for brunch last Sunday. Very good menu choices and the cabinet options looked very tempting. Reasonable prices, great service and finally I have found a place that serves my poached eggs just how I like them, soft and runny. So I will definately be back. Great parking around the back is another major drawcard. Thankyou.

Great coffee, friendly staff & loved that they offered 'baby' big breakfast/eggs bene in addition to the full sized option.
A great place to bring a child, they have a big box of toys available & one of the best fluffys our toddler has ever had! Though I did only see the one high chair, so it may pay to ring ahead if you require one.

Great cafe in Upper Riccarton! Great customer service and very good value for money. Nice range of options from the pantry and they have a nice selection of breakfast, lunch and kid's meals. The chef did up a special side serving of gluten and egg-free chips for our kid that has food allergies. Overall great experience and we'll certainly be returning again! đ

Popped in for a weekday lunch. Friendly greeting upon entry and came over to our table to take drinks orders - coffee was great! Came back for meal orders. I had Eggs Benny with bacon, pretty standard price for a great Benny, which included a hash brown and 2 large slabs of nicely toasted sourdough. My lunchmates had the 7 big breakfast, which looked huge.
All very happy and looking forward to the next visit.

Had another lovely brekki pick-up experience for the family from our usual spot during level 3 Lockdown. Food quality was still consistently great. Tried the new chicken burger which makes me regret of queuing 1 hour for KFC. Serving was on time and staff was friendly as usual. Thanks Seven Cafe for keeping up your good work serving the local community with your food and heart at its best. Good stuff.

We had our post wedding brunch at Seven Cafe. I would like to commend Elaine (manager) and her staff for the amazing job they did. Elaine was completely professional, and always got back to us in a timely manner. She was supportive in all of our idea's, and we felt went the extra mile to give us another lasting memory for our wedding. We had approx 60 guests which included young children, and yet that seemed to be of little problem. The table set up ensured everyone was catered for and comfortable, and everyone's food came out quickly and tasted amazing.

Went there for brunch today and I would say that was a very unpleasant dining experience. I had good impression of the cafe's setting when I walked in, but the waitresses were just unacceptably rude. I really wanted to take my aunt out for a nice brunch, so just pretend I was happy the whole time, but arghhh, such a uncomfortable 2 hours eating there!!! I hate myself having even spent money there. With my GrabOne voucher, we only ordered 2 breakfast items and a pot of tea for 2 and was still over $40! even without grab one, there won't be much difference really. The two waitress, one has a sullen face, doesn't know how to smile tho we smiled at her every time she talks to us (isn't that the very basic or first thing you learn when you take on a customer service job?!) and another one's expression just can't be more arrogant, they just looked as if they are doing me a favour, it's an honour that I can be talking to them....I felt so sorry have taken my aunt there, I hope she didn't see all that ...the food was fine, Â but I won't pay to be treated like that again, who would anyway, so won't recommend.

I remember when 7 first opened, I met one of the owners at The Twisted Hop in Poplar Lanes. She advised me that this was going to be a café that defined food, rather than catering to the masses.<br/><br/>From the outset this was always going to be a difficult statement to follow on from, but the thing is I DO enjoy the variety presented at 7. From the early days when they did the Berocca Special Breakfast, to enjoy simpler salads and savouries it's one of the few places I take a trip across town to visit.<br/><br/>Service is typically good, place is clean and the food a pleasure. I'll keep coming back just to see what is new.

Popped in on way to work to buy muffin and coffee. Coffee ok, and the savoury muffin was awful. Too much flour, so crumbly and dry, and maybe too much baking powder or baking soda, as the taste was bitter.<br/>Not sure where the onion, spinach were?<br/>Second bad experience at this cafe, <br/>Very disappointed,won't be going back there again.

Had breakfast on 18/11/13 - we have never been served such a terrible meal - soggy toast, firm poached eggs, so much egg on the French toast that became bread with a coating of egg -yuk, and the kids egg and bacon muffin was rubbish. I requested our eggs to be redone and didn't get any apology for what we were served in the first place. I will never return to this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone.

We went to this cafe after reading all the good reviews on Menumania. After having eaten there, we thought it was strictly average. Service was ok but nothing you wouldn't find anywhere else. Food was a little slow coming out - we all ordered off the lighter fare menu but it took about 35-40min for orders to come out. Salads were quite bland and while they came with a nice serving of bread, there was literally about a tablespoon of hummus to go with it. The bitterballen was again ok, but nothing special.

I was so glad to be able to book online, especially as it was a public holiday and was rung to have my booking confirmed. When we arrived we had an unexpected extra guest turn up and the staff quickly found us a larger table without any fuss or bother. The food was excellent and the service tops and the coffee couldn't be better. It's definitely a place I will frequent and take my friends to. A big thank you to all the staff at Seven Cafe and all the best for the future.

Visiting more than once as I do before offering a review, this busy place adjacent a garden centre is decent. I might call it a bistro more than a cafe. And yet as much as the food may qualify, the tarrif for the quality offered does not meet my definition of this worthy term. Nonetheless, it offers decent plus food not exactly executed as desired at decent plus prices with decent service. Nothing to write home about, exactly, but a welcome addition to the 'hood and there are many much worse out there charging the same or even more.

I went to Seven about a month ago with 12 of my friends for a 16th Birthday Brunch. The food was fabulous and we all really enjoyed out meals, but one main aspect that let the whole cafe down was one of the staff. It felt to all of us that she didn't want us to be there and that she had no respect for us, almost like we were a nuisance. I feel that if we were maybe a few years older she would have treated us differently. I found this really let out experience at Seven down. Sadly I don't think I will be coming back.

I loved being able to book online and was very impressed to receive a personal message from Margaret confirming my booking, along with a note saying..."look forward to having you in the cafe." <br/>When we arrived (on time I might add!!), we were greeted like VIP's and escorted to our reserved table immediately. The service (from many staff members) and food was top notch. <br/>I cannot wait to return. Thanks Seven Cafe and good luck for the future. You have a winning combination and in our troubled times it is a relief to find businesses who offer something special.

Great service and most of the food was excellent, however I had the beetroot and orange salad but when I got my dish there was no orange flavour or orange pieces in it at all also lacked seasoning making it a bland taste and disappointing. Perhaps that is something that could be improved on for next time. Thank you for the opportunity to comment

Fabulous place - the food is excellent and the service is superb! I eat here every week if I can, it's the best cafe around this area. Has both good indoor and outdoor seating. I can't recommend Seven highly enough!
