It's really good! We visited every single day during we stay in Christchurch. Thank you for the real traditional like mum's food. You should try!

This place is clean, the braised short ribs were tender and the side dishes were few but acceptable. I will also say that the staff is very attentive and polite. Will come back for more!

If you like spicy, please try this spicy beef soup. Soooooo testy. I like this restaurant, will coming again

The Spicy Squid is really really good here. However, I find that the prices are far too expensive for what they give you.

Went with my Korean friend here since it was his last day in NZ and it was great! We ordered about 3 dishes and the service was really good! We walked in without a booking and the girl welcomed us and showed us to a table and handing us menus and water. The waitress and waiter were really good. They would speak Korean and English with us and had amazing attitudes. Considering I'm not Asian and that I'm islander they weren't racist at all! Very nice people ♥ I would give them a 5 for food and service but I give them a 4 because the food costs soooo much almost $60 for our dishes but we had a great time. Recommend this place 100%!!!!

I had good food and a good experience here! I went here originally because it showed up as a sushi place, but they didn't have that much sushi on the menu. I still got it, and it was tasty and fresh, but it is really more of an all-Asian place. There were a ton of Korean dishes on the menu too. They were all nice and welcoming, and they did not make me feel as incompetent as I often do in places that has food names that only dolphins can pronounce.

“Delicious food, awesome presentation, great service!” Mum's 24 was my very first introduction to Korean food 10 years ago and since then I've been back many times and still love it every visit! The waiters and waitress' are always really helpful when we don't know what to order, the food is always of the highest quality and the presentation is also very unique. The last time we went, all our Sashimi came in an ice boat! Needless to say, it kept our raw fish very cool and fresh. The owners are usually there and very friendly - they come out every so often to see that everything is to our liking. Definitely recommending people to visit! Visited August 2015

It's not bad for Korean food in Christchurch. They have a mixture of other cuisine like Japanese as well. It's definitely a hype for tourists and could get pretty busy fast. Definitely get reservations if you come here. They could improve on a few table layout arrangements as we were blocking another couple's table (kind of awkward when they have to leave or what not.)

The service was very nice with a polite wait staff. The food was very good with minimal waiting time. Mynonly concern is that it is a bit on the pricier side but not by much. Most mains are between $15-20. The hot stone bibimbap was great. Would definitely go again.

The food was okay and the staff were nice. It wasn't really anything to write home about. It wasn't just at all for a weekend at dinner time. I probably doubt go back again as the price didn't match the food quality.

I went here for a birthday dinner not so long ago and ordered a bibimbap as the photos looked great and sounded delicious.
Unfortunately there was little flavour to the dish; it was incredibly bland and not tasty at all. I ended up eating my neighbours fried rice instead.
Customer service was great.

Ordered spicy pork and bbq seafood. The pork had a nice Korean taste but was very rubbery and chewy. Also the "vegetables" it said would be served with it equated more to a salad. The bbq seafood was a bit of a trainwreck. It came out as a seafood soup and the seafood appeared to have been boiled - nothing on the dish was bbq! It also said it had "scallops" in but there was only one and it had much more of the cheaper surimi. We love Korean food but this was our worst experience to date. The value for money was also a lot worse than other Korean restaurants we have eaten at. This place appears to be on the decline.

Very Nice place to have some korean food. Staffs are very friendly and polite. I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to try yummy korean food.

This place is kind of Japanese food and Korean food together. We ordered deep fried pork and some soybean soup. It was average and good for lunch.

Ate here Friday night. Didn't have a booking but they were able to seat the two of us. Bento box was huge. Also served with a miso soup & dipping sauces for the sashimi and tempura.

Our order was a Bulgogi and a Spicy Octopus. The menu described the bulgogi as 'beef and mushroom.' Mushroom is not commonly associated with the dish - but I'm up for modern takes. The mushroom though was not really an issue - given it contained less than half a button one. It was similarly almost void of vegetable. The weirdness was sustained with it being served swimming in liquid. It resembled more a beef broth than any than that you'd associate with a bulgogi. The spicy octopus turned out to be made of squid. The 'spicy' was all chilli - no depth of flavour. Actually, it tasted like tabasco sauce . The service is minimal, beyond establishing when you'll leave (that was our welcoming question) they don't bother you .

They're monikered with a name you couldn't give away, married with that is mediocre service and food that...well...words fail me. There's a Japanese side to the menu too. So, this atrocity reaches out over traditional enemy lines? That's one great big melting pot I won't be returning to eat from.

The food is ridiculously overpriced for what you get and it didn't even taste good. The only reason you would come here is for BYO before town. The staff tried to overcharge us for corkage as well. There are better korean places out there if thats what you want, and portion size that are more reasonable!

A great restaurant with nice service in Christchurch.
Delicious and beautiful dishes~
The only common: some dishes such as the pork is a little sweet and oily.

I am not an expert in Korean cuisine, but I think I have tried enough Korean restaurants to know this one isn't that good. Spicy squid, it's very mediocre. The banzai dishes are very very average. For the price that I paid, the portion wasn't that huge. It's very pricey for Korean restaurant.

Had a lovely dinner at Mum's 24. The Bento Box was huge! The Beef Bulgogi & Chicken Bulgogi was nice too. We enjoyed the food so much and Thank you for your hospitality.

Our waiter spilt sizzling hotplate juice down my back and in my hair. This burnt me quite badly and permanently stained my clothes. No offer was made to pay for dry cleaning of my dress and even though we asked for a cold towel for my burns, they gave us nothing. My partner then had to ask for reimbursement, which they reimbursed only my food and not my drink costs for some reason. The food is decent but the service is really shocking.

4 stars for the food. It was delicious. The overall atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant was superb. But only 2 stars for the service. I can say one BAD THING about Mum's 24 Restaurant, the waitress was so rude. Did not even gave us a small hint of a smile and feels that she's not so welcoming. Forgets some of our orders and when we were paying at the end of our meal, she gave us this grumpy look if she wasn't happy we ate there. She had this disgusting look on her face while she was criticising our behaviours. We were just out to have a nice meal and have a good time. i don't know if I'm ever going to come back. I do not recommend this restaurant for dining in. You better have it to takeaway.

Rude Gesture *beware*. We just arrived in Christchurch looking for dinner. Coming in, we stood there waiting for the waitress, and a man suddenly appear asking, "are you okay?" asking for a table for two, he asked if we made a booking, and responded "No booking, no table!"

What an embicile silly customer service.

The spicy pork wasn’t as nice as the spicy pork and squid at Miga. It seemed more one-dimensional, less umami from maybe something like soy. Or maybe it was a different dish altogether? The menu at Miga only had Romanised Korean and the menu at Mum’s 24 had English, Korean and Chinese so I couldn’t compare the Hangul characters. Although not as good as Miga’s, it still wasn’t bad and wasn’t that sweet.

The best Asian food I had in Christchurch. I went there twice and had the hot bibimbap. It was so fresh and yummy. The owner is very nice and friendly but some of the waitresses didn't seem very happy to be there. I would go there anyway and enjoy their delicious bibimbap.

love this restaurant
they have choices of japanese and korean which is fantastic
1st visit we indulged in their japanese menu of bentos and sushi which
was very delish

2nd visit we decided to have the korean hot pot which we orderes 2 of and feed 4 of us and was absolutely divine
most definitely go back there

Came here for a group lunch,as they cook both Japanese and Korean food.
The staff were really friendly and polite.

The food that we ordered was above average. The Japanese curry with rice was well presented and had just the right amount to fill one up. The spices were not that over powering.

The bimbimbap was very lovely with a fine crispy layer of rice, the staff were kind enough to explain the elements of it and gave us sauces to accompany it.

Overall a wonderful restaurant if you don't mind walking a little bit out of the CBD.

Highly recommended

I usually have Korean food there, which is their specialty.
The food is very good and the service is fast.
The lunch menu has a good variety.

Fast, large servings, good food. Has a bit of a student feel about it though. Self serve cutlery, water.
