The food was lovely. It was a quick lunch on a quiet day so atmosphere was not important to us. Very clean inside the restaurant. We had the fresh spring rolls, lovely hit of coriander, and the chicken egg fried noodles. Crunchy vegetables and plenty of chicken. Very nice lunch. Would definitely go back for dinner. 🙂

I ordered the spicy squid and… it was so delicious! The green chilli sauce is pure umami and I could drink it straight. Squid was cooked well, tender and well seasoned.
Although I think the filler they use in the plate, (salad and raw cabbage) could be replaced with a nicer vegetable that suits the dish, or just steamed rice. It’s clearly there to fill the gap. Staff are friendly and nice and food came fast.
Apart from that, delicious.

One of my favorites restaurant. The chicken noodle soup is my regular order without reading the menu. The kind enough to offer me with some free chicken bones. This is very authentic vietnamese soup with good quality ingredients. Well done ! (Try to avoid weekend dinner time when big group students are having a great time 😁).

This HAS TO BE the BEST Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. They had such lovely service, amazing food, and the decor was spot on! If you want something tangy, with spice, you'd enjoy the Tom Yum Soup (with noodles!). If you want a flavourful dish, with noodles and broth, you would be craving for the Chicken Pho! This is such a great place for dinner, and trust me- even the pickiest ones will LOVE THIS!

My partner and I went here for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. As you can see in the pics...the food was hot, fresh, packed with flavor and overall sooooo delicious 😋. Thank you to the chef and lovely waiter who looked after us! We will definitely be going back 😍

It was a pleasure to be there. Very convenient location, close to South City Mall. We tried some dishes and all of them were absolutely delicious! Nice ambient, great decoration and friendly staffs. I have also noticed that other customers were also enjoying their meals. The restaurant has their own restroom. Great range of dishes with varieties and authentic taste. Very affordable price and both dine-in and takeaway options. We will definitely go there again :) Highly recommended.

The food tasted okay, nothing too special or noticeable, but I wish they had shrimp spring rolls instead of sausage meat, which tasted bit weird to me, and also wish the Laksa had more toppings like egg or fried tofu. Not bad for the price, but also not sure why we should be back.

amazing delicious food! such friendly hosts. Chicken Laska and lemongrass chicken was outstanding. our 2 preschool aged children loved the food and owners children! highly recommend!

We had our leaving party dinner on Saturday night and we have to say it was a great night. Really well organized, friendly staff and delicious food that came out quickly. Would definitely recommend them for a large group booking. We were a group of 40+. Cheers Team.

We love this place and eat here 2 or 3 time's a week. The food is always super fresh and delicious and the whole restaurant is always clean. The staff go out of their way to make you welcome and will always recommend something delicious if you can't decide what you might like. And the prices are so cheap, they also now do lunch and drink deals and have a rewards card,not that they need it. You will not be disappointed dining here. <br/>

Delicious food!! Cheap as, clean nice decor, staff that tended to your needs and left you to enjoy your meal. Was actually all round a very lovely meal/evening. BYO too! Will definitely go back. Only thing I'd change is if they could replace the chicken with the "lemongrass & chilli chicken" in the chicken vermicelli salad, I would be in heaven!! And then probable dine once a week, haha. Cheers guys, will be back!

Dined here for lunch with my partner.<br/><br/>Food was brought out staggered as my partner received her main I waited another 5 minutes for mine which was a bit different. Food was good and tasty and relatively cheap which makes for a cheap lunch that is tasty.<br/><br/>Average service and setting but still half decent food. <br/><br/>Would recommend for an informal quick bite to eat that is tasty not a fine dining experience.

It's actually a family restaurant, with a nice and friendly environment. I usually go and have my meals twice a week and I must say the service and food has always been great. Last Tuesday I went for dinner with my friends at little saigon and had ordered couple of dishes i.e fried fish fillet, beef noodle soup, crispy chicken, pan cake and spicy grilled chicken. All the meals were really satisfying and crispy is the best in Christchurch. I must appreciate the service and food provided by them. Will be going back very soon for some delicious food.

Friendly service and great food. I must admit that I'm a regular to Little Saigon and am gradually working my way through the menu. I would truly recommend the Beef Salad and the Vegetable Noodle Soup. So delicious! The staff are very friendly and efficient generally but I think there have been a few staffing issues recently. Can get very busy on Saturday evenings so it helps if you book in advance, especially if you're dining with friends. If you're looking for fresh tasty food at a decent price definitely give them a go!

Hands down the worst food ever. We took a video of the soup because it was so over stewed it had become like snot. Our table of 8 ordered a lot of different things, very very very few were edible. Mine was ok, and I ended up splitting it with another woman who couldn't eat any of her food. (we all tried eachothers, and ew). As we paid and left we noticed other tables were also sending whole dishes back. It was just that awful. The staff didn't even care. I will mention that there are another 2 restaurants in Chch in the same chain, and they have much better reputations than this place.

Went for a lovely leisurely lunch at the Little Saigon today. Our first visit - the cuisine, decor and service were all excellent and we will be returning for sure. The quality and variety of the food was excellent as was the quantity and presentation. Well worth a visit.

It would be nice if the waiters didn't bully me into accepting a dish that I hadn't ordered. I ordered the Beef Fried Noodles (not sure if that is the exact name in menu) but the waiter brought me Beef Fried Rice. I kindly corrected him and said that I actually ordered the noodles and not the rice. He took it back to the front counter, talked to the other staff there then proceeded to bring it back to me and say "Beef Fried Rice?". I corrected him again and he almost yells at me to say "NO YOU ORDERED RICE!" I have an aversion to rice so there is absolutely no way I would have ordered it but as I was there for a work dinner and didn't want to cause anymore of a scene I said fine i'll have it. Will definitely not be going back.

Food was good, but that's where everything stopped. Went for dinner with family and friends yesterday. Everyone was ready to order at 8:25pm but was told that restaurant will close at 9pm so please hurry with your order. At least 6-7 times we were reminded that chefs will finish at 9pm. We were told any meal that will take 20 minutes or over will not be accepted as it will be too much for the chefs. Then we were told they do not have whole fish to cook. When they came to collect the dirty dishes from our table, they tapped on our shoulder to grab our attention. <br/><br/>Not seen this kind of terrible service but do not want to see it again. This is the end of Little Saigon for me.

Average food, crap service. The food wasn't any better than what I would get at the local Chinese meal shop. The waitress delivered our meals without a word and when I paid she didn't say a word, took my card and did the business, and burped while I was punching in my numbers.<br/>Not in any hurry to return.

Not happy with service or meals.<br/> seated quickly with menu's but not given enough time to consider meal options, asked by 4 different staff if ready to order in a very short space of time.<br/> Order Taken then staff came back twice to change our options as they didn't hav the meat or fish for order was going to take 30mins.<br/> One Option was changed from beef brisket to crab chowder.<br/> CrabChowder was watery with tomato & mainly filled with tofu.<br/> OptionTwo they wanted us to change because it was going to take 30mins but wek said wek were happy to wait.<br/> WekDelta with multiple staff through out evening but would have been nicer if served by same staff throughout.<br/> WhenOrder of whole blue cod finally came it wasnt fresh and were very disapointed, I came to them conclusion that thats why they wanted us to choose somthing else because they knew fish wasnt of good standard.<br/>O rdereddesert but wasnt what we expected, matri'd came over over & was very abrupt & rude in her manor as if we should know what this desert should look like.

Good food, price and atmosphere. <br/><br/>Service was poor, orders efficiently taken but the food took a long time to come out from the first dish to the last. Also some of the dishes weren't what we ordered, or the wait staff didn't know what it was. One meal didn't arrive at all.

We have always been a fan of Little Saigon but were sadly disappointed tonight. We were seated but had to approach the desk to get our order taken, interrupting the conversation of the 3 waitresses who stood chatting. We were then approached at our table and told to quote the number, not the meal. <br/><br/>One meal was bought to us and was half finished before the next arrived. The waitresses went through the motions and quickly wiped down tables but where was the personal touch we used to get? <br/>The meal was average with one meal saturated in oil. Sorry but we won't be back.

Based on these and other reviews, we headed to Little Saigon. There's plenty of room and it's clean unlike many Asian restaurants in Chch. Unfortunately, the food was very average. We had Chicken with Veggies and the Fried Mixed Veggie and they were equivalent to standard Chinese meals of not many veggies (95% onions) and chicken that doesn't look or taste like chicken. The service was acceptable given that 3 of the 4 servers couldn't speak or were just learning English. However, the maitre-d/owner? was not friendly at all. Surprising, since we didn't ask for anything-we just ordered and paid for our meals. These were the only interactions.<br/><br/>Not wanting to write it off, we went back a couple of months later. Service went downhill fast after we only ordered one dish for the two of us. Again, the maitre-d was pretty unfriendly. When we paid, she said nothing to us. She just took our money, put it in the till and walked away.<br/><br/>Needless to say, given the average food quality and her attitude, we won't be back.
