Had a birthday cake made here and it was absolutely stunning and tasted delicious, was a big hit at the party. We had chocolate mud cake and Madeira, delicious! Thank you for a great cake!

Kidds bakery absolutely nailed the brief, and cake was so fresh and delicious. Such an easy process from booking, to getting queries answered as we were tweaking an existing cake they offer. Repeat customers for sure! Thank you so much!

Big breakfast... Not their standard as the mushrooms swapped for onions....

I want say a massive thank you to Annie and the team. You have done a few cakes for me now, they have all been spot on and the one on Saturday exceeded our expectations. I got goosebumps when I seen the cake and if I could of I would have given you a hug. The smile on the birthday girls face said it all. You are all just talented magical legends. Thank you!!!!

Today we had the best toasted panini with chicken, cranberry sauce and cheese. The hot drink also came out with the meal. The food cabinet was full with delicious inviting food. The service was excellent. Top Mark's for this place. We will be back.

Update: love the response by the owner, shows you genuinely care about your customers, and your reputation, I will be back as those eggs bene were great Amazing eggs Benedict, best I’ve had anywhere. Clean restaurant and nice service. LET DOWN by the coffee. Bitter and yucky, undrinkable waste of $5-80 or whatever it was

Really cool and enjoyable experience. A wonderful selection of cakes on the website with the size easy to see and understand. Great big chocolate cake that was beautifully decorated and tasted perfect. It was also really well packaged when we picked it up, making transport nice and easy. Staff were very helpful - A great place to shop for birthday cakes - would strongly endorse!

This bakery has a lot to offer. The wide range of goods is great, it's our go to bakery.

Had the biggest and best Full Breakfast I have ever had at Kidds Bakery. Others of us had Eggs Beni and they too were big and beautiful. It is a "must Go to" sort of place

Came in with my mum for High Tea for Mother’s Day. The food was amazing! No issues there. It was the service. Took us 45 minutes to get our drinks, we had to ask 3 times. And once we did get our drinks, the coffee was not very good. And all of the people behind the counter were not very friendly at all. I know it was busy but we were still very disappointed with the service & with us keeping having to ask for things. Like plates, cutlery etc. Would definitely come back for the food but service needs to be stepped up.

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning- the food was terrible, the coffee even worse and the one of the staff members was really rude to us- I won't be back for breakfast but I do love the bakery- I think in this case- stick to what you know and maybe don't continue to attempt breakfast- it was not worth the money paid for it.

Bought a chicken pie today the cost was $5.80.Once opened I found that there was 2 to 3 tiny pieces of chicken and quite abit of mushroom and it seemed to .have a lot of cornflour mixture in it it wasn't good

I waited at a cafe table with my number after ordering a pie and coffee.I left after 25 minutes still waiting for the pie to arrive. Not great service as I tried to make eye contact with the staff member behind the counter who clearly wasn't interested. To be fair the coffee was good but the service slack..how long does it take to put a pie on a plate from a warmer..clearly more than 25 minutes even after the lunch rush around 1:45pm meh

Got my daughters 2nd birthday cake from use it was great everyone Loved it so for her 3rd birthday just last week I came and got her one ... it was not the best it just crumbled when I cut it so everyone at the party got chocolate crumble in a plate 😩😩

Kidd’s bakery will always be a favourite of mine. The service is great, and the food is decently priced considering it’s always been good when I’ve been there! Great place for families to duck in for a bite to eat

Nice venue and an array of baking goods. On this visit I only had the Chicken Brie and Cranberry pie with a flat white. The pie was filled well and pastry flaky as expected, perhaps a tad bit salty for my liking but other than that it’s a great. Coffee, well nothing spectacular but drinkable. I suppose when you have a different been brand it does take you somewhere new. Good place to visit after a night out.

Being from the North Island travelling over summer, I happened upon Kidd’s as I drove past, dying for a coffee. The cafe was packed at the end of lunch time, with families, early 20’s and older couples. The takeaway bakery was just as busy, and I was interested to note they have a takeaway coffee point of service immediately between the cafe & bakery.
Being a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see more than just a token meat-free choice that most cafes offer. The Almond-milk coffee was hot and not watery like I’ve tried at several other Christchurch cafes, and I was asked upon ordering if I would like marshmallows (nice to be given the option). The owner was on-site, the staff friendly and courteous.
I have added Kidd’s to my list of places to come back.

Pies are overrated and not worth the price. Bread was under baked. Everything over priced for average food. Come here for cake decoration, but as a bakery it is sub par

This shop has the most amazing rocky road i've ever tasted. Would have to give it 10 out of 10. Parking is a bit of a mission tho, not heaps of carparks.....but once inside, there's heaps of delicious food to choose from.

First dealt with Kidd's about three years ago when I purchased a cake for my Aunt's 100th birthday. Beautiful cake enjoyed by all.Went to the café yesterday for lunch and a catch up with old red zoned neighbours. What an absolute delight. Very friendly staff, good service and the food ------- Spicy bagels with butter and a tasty raspberry jam. The best bagels I have tasted, even better than the ones bought from a specialty shop in Denver CO when visiting my daughter.French toast, pleased I didn't order that because the large plate was piled high with thick toast, bacon and a banana and a beautiful maple syrup to go with it. And lovely coffee to finish with.Cabinet food was just as delicious and we all left happy campers. Will we be back, hell yea.

Teribile unprofessional staff to start with .The cake was worst cake ever even worst than a cheap pak n save one.The kids couldn't eat it as was dry with no taste at all, maybe the dog or their manager will give it a try.Very dissapointed as apart from a nice shiny icing was nothing there for 77$ for number a 1 shape bday cake .won't deal with them again hope other will be aware too.

Great selection of slices and sandwiches/rolls. It has lolly cake like every kiwi bakery should. Large eating area is good and typically busy at lunch time.

Holy Powdered Sugar. This place is awesome. After hearing that they won the hot cross bun competition for the second time in 2015, I decided to check out their website. Yup, looks awesome. My partner needed to bring some snacks into work, so I figured I'd pick up some cookies and try out one of their famous buns. The building is a large cube with large windows flooding the space with light. There is a seating area as well as an extremely long wrap around counter that is filled to the brim with a carboholics-dream. From hot cross buns (raisins and craisins with warm butter on the inside of the soft chewy bun) and cinnamon rolls and rasberry buns to lolly loafs and cream puffs and cookies, this place could feed an army of hungry children.

They have pre-packaged cookies (and other bars/loafs) for sale that are cheaper than ordering custom cookies (which you can do in store or on their website, which include custom cakes with photos or screen art) and come in bags of 7. I picked up some Afghan cookies, chocolate chip, one other packet and I am on a waiting list for the Belgium Biscuits when they arrive out of the oven. They design wedding cakes or other specialty cakes as well with many different cake flavors.

Starve yourself for a couple of days, come fill up on Kidds and drift happily into a carbo-coma. A must-visit! ... why the missing half star? $$$$$.

I booked an appointment to come cake tasting for my wedding. The welcoming was cold and under inspiring. We got passed four pieces of cake and pointed at a table. Cake was crap.

We went to Kidds Bakery for a Sunday morning breakfast. It was woeful. The food is hideously overpriced ($22 for the big breakfast combo) and the quality is very poor. Our poached eggs were rock hard, bacon was extremely fatty and the sausages were just nasty. In fact, I brought mine home for the dog and even she refused to eat them. The coffee was nice and service was speedy, but everything else was a huge let down. Very, very disappointing.

I have been a fan of Kidds Bakery for years, and was excited to try their new cafe area. Unfortunately my visit there (for my fiancé's birthday lunch!) was an absolute disappointment. The layout is confusing when entering, as the bakery food choices cannot be viewed from the cafe area, but can be ordered from there. We ordered coffees and pies in the cafe. We had finished our coffees and been waiting for about half an hour when we enquired about our missing pies, and discovered we had been forgotten. Then 2 of 3 pies were the wrong ones, and we were again left waiting for a very long time before someone came and explained they were now out of the pies we had ordered (it was now an hour since we had ordered them, when we had seen them in the pie cabinet). Alternatives were brought, and while one was hot, the other was lukewarm, with congealed cheese. As the third member of our party had finished long ago, we decided against mentioning it, and simply left. I do hope the service can improve, and that these are merely teething problems, as Kidds Bakery has the best pies in Christchurch. Just make sure you get them to go!

We ordered a large mud cake for a celebration. It was very tasty, moist, and gorgeously decorated! We placed the order online and they were no hassle at all to deal with. Good value too. The only thing to watch is where to park when you pick things up, since they don't have a car park. Recommended!

Very disappointed, ordered mud cake for Easter Saturday came very dry and flaky. Picture of Clifford the Dog was faded and not bound to surface of cake properly. Disappointed for my daughters 1st b'day.
Considering the reputation of this bakery, I will not be ordering from here again.
