My wife and I found this place by chance. We entered via the 'black door' entry and we where completely blown away! We saw this door next to an overhead heat bar that had in intricate sign post with the initials BPC, i said to my wife 'pull on that door' and wow it opened into the best speak easy bar I've ever seen. The bartender welcomed us in and showed us the menu. He said if this to your liking i can make you any drink. As it had been a long day i opped for an espresso martini, he counted with an original or maybe one with a hint of orange, jaffe like. We took one of each and they not only tasted amazing but to see a master at work mixing these cocktails was magic. This was the best cocktail experience i have had in my life and to add after our martini's the bartender asked us for our favourite spirit and then made custom cocktails to suit. If you are in Christchurch you MUST find this place and have a drink! Ps.the shared bathrooms add to speak easy feeling you get from this amazing place. By far the best place i have been too on my NZ trip
Amazing service, was served by mayko really good cocktail recommendations , good music and good food overall was an amazing experience. Throwing peanut shells on the floor was good fun as well. Would 100% recommend going here.
Beautiful vintage colonial decor, comfortable leather seating. Cocktail options are quite sweet for my tastes but they were still good and interesting. The peanuts and shells on the floor was hilarious and good fun. Apparently this used to help control dust in Indian bars.

A great place for young and old, but based on the great 80's & 90's music, more for the 'slightly' older. Themed on the Long Bar at Raffles in Singapore it includes the ceiling fans, peanuts and of course the famous Singapore Sling.

Great vibe, good crowd, friendly staff, fun music - danceable favourites made it impossible not to sing along. When crowded, avoid the booths near the toilets unless you actually expect to stay seated. It's a major thoroughfare.
Had the best night here. Absolute banger of a playlist of all the best jams. G&T’s were yummy! Did have troubles getting in one night due to someones attire. Would recommend if you are out with a good crew
Superb range of liquor and a bartender who really knows his stuff. Had a great late night out here munching on the free and bottomless dangerously addictive roasted peanuts in their shells (which you're allowed to just.chuck on the floor - lazy!). Tried some very fancy and delicious gins, and everyone loved it here. Can't recommend more highly
Great wee speak easy lounge. Food and cocktails were fantastic and would highly recommend to any visitor to the city!
