Five stars for the service and hospitality ! New owner is super accommodating and making guests feel special. From the moment we walked in we got a nice and warm welcome and our table was already waiting. Place is vegan / vegetarian which is nice as it’s not very common in this city. Portions are generous, so you will not leave hungry for sure. The taste of food is average unfortunately. Vegan Salad was too sour and vegan pizza is made on ready made base with way too much vegan cheese. Tortilla was average as well. Smoothies were delicious and coffee very bitter. We were told that there are some new vegan options coming soon, so will hold off for time being and look forward to something new.

Seriously amazing. Such delicious takeaway for movie dinner nights. Many vegan and vegetarian options to suit all palates, and budgets! You have to try it for yourself, order a bit extra to take home with you for those home cooked meal flavour vibes.
Only thing was I was expecting a crispy wrap but it was soft. It the pizzas and wraps were just a bit more crispy, they would be perfect.

It's a shame that we found out this amazing place too late (as the business is closing soon). We have an enjoyable candlelight vegan fine dining with mulled wine & plum vodka. Odita (unsure spelling) is very soft-spoken & welcoming and gives brief introduction on each plate served, foods are tasty and we are really full. Value for money for a 5 course meal. Please do visit before it closing.

Vegan BBQ pizza dreamy delicious and what a divine gorgeous cosy place. If you haven't dined in and experienced the lovely ambience, the hospitable owner and staff it's a must for every vegetarian and vegan diner. So well priced too and makes a lovely meal out. Thank you for the sweetest experience. I will return again soon with my vegan friends and family :) Jen

Really loved the hospitality and food at Villa 23!
We were warmly welcomed and well catered too , highly recommend checking this place out it's nice to have another vegan option!
One suggestion I would make is to make the Cafe fully vegan and be the 3rd fully vegan food business in Christchurch!

Really unique menu, strictly vegan & vegetarian.
The owner comes from a region with a signature restaurant and hosting culture, where guests are (treated like) god. I felt very welcome and seen, and I defenitely need to come back to try some more delicious food from the menu! Friday, Saturday and Sunday you have the option to try some of the traditional food from the owners homeplace. I enjoyed my stay!

Such a pleasure to find this little cafe. Enjoyed every little details of the cafe. This is a dog friendly cafe too. By the way, the coffee is amazing. Will definitely come back with our pooch.

Would've given more stars if it was an option. Having been to many vegan/vegetarian places around Christchurch, Villa 23 just stood out. It feels so welcoming. The food was great and so was the cocoa smoothie. The highlight would be Juanita and Aalia's service. Juanita came up to everyone and asked how the food was and if we needed anything. She even made sure to check if certain ingredients were fine with our order. I'd recommend the place to anyone looking for a quiet, comfy and healthy food option in Christchurch. Both my partner (vegan) and I (vegetarian) loved our visit. Thank you Villa 23.

Annoyed. We arrived and ordered just before 1pm. By 2:15 we were still waiting for our meals and had watched the people at the table beside us order, receive and finish theirs while we waited. Bad.
