Review Crisp Cafe - Christchurch

This is our local cafe, we go most weekends and absolutely love it here, Nick and Sue and all the staff are SO friendly and the coffee and food is always incredible. Could not recommend more. They also have a very cool corner for kids with lots of toys, our 2 year old loves playing there and staff always come say hello and make her the best fluffy!

The best keto cafe I've come across in NZ. Great range of both sweet and savory food, a good range of drinks, and far and away the largest selection of keto groceries, supplements, powders and potions I've ever seen, in either the North or South Islands. Friendly staff who are willing to have a bit of a laugh and give you keto advice are an added cherry on top.

Came to Crisp after freezing on the side-lines watching grandson at sport. What a find. Great coffee (extra hot) Had a fabulous leek and chicken pie and wife had keto. Even though it is right across town we are about to head there because we can! Yes we have checked your website and products! Worth the trip!

Amazing selection of keto and other health based foods. The owner talked to us for a good 10mins and allowed us to try some product. Well worth the visit.

Good coffee, food are average. They have a good selection of keto and gluten free options. Also, we waited for about 45 mins for our food. Updated: we visited again last week, both food quality and service are improved

This place is always busy znd I love the nes keto they keep on putting up in the cabinet. The Bakery supplies they stock for us to buy is qreat quality and a good price. I recommend this cafe to anyone that is doing keto or wants a more natural product

Had the Keto French Toast and it was the best I've ever had! Their homemade lemon curd is to die for, as is the brioche. And all guilt free too! Also a huge selection of low carb goodies in their shop, and the loveliest staff. Although it's across town for us, we love making the effort to have brunch at Crisp.

Such a little sweet cafe, the staff are always so friendly. I absolutely love that this is a Keto themed shop and cafe. Great food and coffee too.

Wonderful place 😊. A 'go to' for Keto goodies and food. Crisp has a mini mart for your keto baking and cooking. Friendly staff. Support our local business.

Wonderfully set out cafe, very friendly atmosphere, with great music, a lot of Gluten Free choices, in fact a lot of food is prepared on site, freshly made, and nicely presented. We ordered, Gluten free toasties that were packed to the brim with sheer goodness, much love goes into the food here... Turmeric Lattes are a must, if indeed you enjoy the flavors, and a piece of Passionfruit Louise slice, absolutely deeelicious. I'm sure that we'll be visiting the Crisp Cafe again, very soon... A huge thank you to the owners and staff.

Lovely place. Good service, good coffee and Keto food on offer. I had the Zucchini Slice. Was delicious but had corn in it which is a high carb vege. But I was able to pick it out. Very pleased.

I thought this place was great!! No menu to order from your table with sucked but I'm not a complainer for one tiny fault. I had their American sandwich for like $22.5 or something and it was delicious!! Totally value for $$

Crisp used to be a lovely place to go to but it now under new ownership. Today the place was disgustingly dirty and VERY untidy. The floor was covered in bits of food, the tables needed cleaning and the base of the stools....revolting. They are obviously short staffed and the girl taking the orders was obviously very unhappy or stressed (or both) The Barista was the only 1 who smiled. The food on the counter was almost non existent and the cover on the little that was there was broken with a large hole in it and totally unacceptable. The seafood chowder NOT worth the money with only a couple of mussels in their shell a scallop and a shrimp still with the tail on and very runny. All in all not a good experience.

I've started going to this cafe as it's near work, it's definitely the best cafe in the area. The cabinet food is delicious and the drinks are generously sized. It's the kind of place where the staff greet you like old friends and you never feel rushed.

Not the cheapest Coffee outlet in town...however upon reading the existing reviews..feel Crisps are getting bad feedback. Sure the previous owners made a number of changes that ultimately made me decide not to go there anymore. The new owners however have the right staff, right attitude, and to me the food is pretty spot on. I frequent Crisps, at least once a week (often more regularly) and I'm always standing in a queue to get served. The place is pretty full most mornings and afternoons...which I guess...speaks for itself. Good on you Crisps !

I love Crisp Cafe and the staff members are really friendly and lovely. I love how the cafe has labels saying which food is gluten free and vegetarian. My favourite foods from the Crisp Cafe would definitely be the vegetarian fritata, raspberry brownie, and toasted muesli. It is a nice cafe to eat as you can eat outside, or on the cozy couches, or at the table. It is also a nice place to eat and dine in with friends. On the downside the food can be expensive or otherwise its delicious.

Awful. Stopped by for lunch today, I ordered the steak sandwich and my partner the french toast.

The steak meal was borderline inedible.. smothered in a revolting curdled horseradish sauce, it also had dirt on the lettuce and a soggy piece of toast underneath it all.

The french toast wasn't much better. The bacon was cold, borderline undercooked and the french toast featured a soggy raw egg centre, not ideal as my partner is pregnant.

Total spend was $47, completely unjustified.. if we'd had the time to hang around I'd have asked for a refund. Never going back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

What ever you do don't get the pancakes they were soo small all three of them combined would still not make the size of a normal pancake it looked like a toddlers meal just ridiculous considering it was $16.50 wouldn't recommend going here save your money and go to cafe sismo best in Chch

Having been a regular customer at Crisp Cafe, getting weekly coffees and brunch for a few months. I was surprised to see the usual barista replaced by a grumpy young woman who had little to no enthusiasm in her work. After 3 awful coffees in as many weeks, the last straw came this morning when after waiting 20mins for two take away flat whites, (while there were only 5 people in the cafe already eating.) we received burnt warm milk with no sign of any coffee to be tasted. I asked if the extra shot off coffee i had requested had been added, to be answered with a rude reply of "yup", with no further response or explanation. I left my coffee on the counter and explained I would not be drinking it. The second coffee was left in a rubbish bin outside. I will never purchase any food or beverage from Crisp again.

When I turned up, I noticed that the roof was connected to four walls it didn't have a red sticker and it was open. Hallaleujah. It gets a bid siskel and ebert from me.The toilets worked. The road leading up to the cafe had access and the coffee was served in liquid vestibules. Ahuman delivered them to us as well.

Sorry, but the coffee is very expensive ($5!) and weak and warm. I've tried it 3 times over past 6 months hoping for a change (as is closed in our area) but am continually disappointed. I wish a cafe that specialises in coffee and knows how to make a good one would open up in the area!!
